Lux Fetish The Original Facilitator

The Original Facilitator comes to us from Lux Fetish, who describe themselves as “internationally known for [their] expansive selection of stylish BDSM tools and accessories.” This sounds exciting!

We will jump to the last page of this review and acknowledge that we did have fun with Lux Fetish’s The Original Facilitator, and it’s quite possible that you will too. However, stylish and/or “lux” are not the words that came to mind when we opened the box. Sophisticated kinksters are likely to be disappointed. However, if you and your partner are up for trying something new (and don’t take yourselves too seriously), it might be worth a try.

Key Takeaways
2 out of 5 stars

This is not an elegantly crafted piece of gear: it’s a cheap dildo that you strap on your face. If that sounds like fun to you (and we’re not too proud to admit that it can be fun), then you should give it a whirl. It’s easy and reasonably comfortable to use, and sometimes that’s more than enough.

Who Should Try It? Lux Fetish’s The Original Facilitator is for couples who enjoy playing with each other, sexually and otherwise. The truth is that it can feel good, but another truth is that when you see your partner with a dildo jutting out from their chin, you’ll probably be laughing too hard to care (at least at first).

Who Can Skip It? If atmosphere and ambiance are an important part of your scenes, this toy will not be a good fit for you. And if you are a sex toy connoisseur who demands high-end materials and artisan-level craftsmanship, this toy will not be a good fit for you. Also, if your arousal won’t survive a partner’s belly laugh, this toy will not be a good fit for you.

You Can Buy It on the Pleasure Superstore for $40.

What Is the Lux Fetish Original Facilitator?

This is a chin-strap dildo, which is exactly what it sounds like. Lux Fetish’s The Original Facilitator consists of a small-ish latex dildo attached to a harness so you can strap it to your chin. And if you’re wondering why anyone would want to do that, it’s to add penetration to the mix when giving oral sex to a person with a vulva. (And, also, Halloween is next month.)

First Impressions and Features

Unboxing

The unboxing was unimpressive. Lux Fetish’s The Original Facilitator arrives in a thin printed cardboard box. The dildo and harness are in a sealed plastic bag inside, and we do appreciate the attention to safety/cleanliness, but that’s it. There’s no storage pouch, user manual, or any other amenities. This is strictly no-frills.

The packaging

We’d also like to point out that the product photo on the box is somewhat optimistic. We see sleek straps and a sculpted dildo. The real-life product is much less sleek and much less sculpted. It also doesn’t smell good.

How Do I Use the Facilitator?

We have described Lux Fetish’s The Original Facilitator as unsophisticated, and we stand by that description. However, that’s not all bad! One advantage is that it is super easy to use right out of the box (after a good wash — it’s sticky and smells bad).

  1. Just position the lower strap around your chin and neck, and the upper one behind your head. The dildo will sit just under your mouth. There are no adjusters or buckles on the harness, so you may need to tweak the positioning until it feels snug and secure.
  2. The latex rubber on the dildo feels like it creates drag, which is not desirable, so you’ll want to lube it up with plenty of good-quality water-based lube (it’s latex, so not compatible with oil-based lubes).
  3. Then, get busy going down on your partner! The slight curve of the dildo means that it should slide right into their vagina while you’re licking and sucking the clitoris.

My Personal Experience

Lux Fetish’s The Original Facilitator is not serious BDSM gear even if it wants to be. The dildo is small, soft, and squishy and the harness straps feel like swim-team swimsuits. Despite all that, we had a good laugh. Part of the fun was the ridiculousness of it all, and what kind of a relationship is it if you can’t laugh when your partner puts on a dildo face?

Design

The design is simple. This may be a letdown if you’re looking for a classy bondage aesthetic, but this also makes it user-proof. It’s pretty hard to get this wrong! And if you are new to this kind of play, it is unintimidating.

Lux Fetish The Original Facilitator

The dildo is about the size of the average penis, and even though there is a slight curve and a bit of a head, it’s not really anatomically correct. It’s made of black latex with an almost spongy feel and rubbery texture. The straps are stretchy latex without any harnesses or buckles.

Stimulations

Because the best use of Lux Fetish’s The Original Facilitator is during oral sex, much of the stimulation is people-powered. However, the dildo does offer relatively gentle (it’s soft and squishy) and shallow penetration, and many people with vulvas do enjoy that in conjunction with clitoral stimulation. It doesn’t do much on its own, however; the ergonomics would be awkward for solo play and honestly, you can get much better dildos for that.

Build Quality

“Adequate” is the best word that we can come up with here. It’s not bad. We didn’t see any flaws or defects. It’s a very simple design so there’s not much to go wrong.

There also wasn’t anything notably nice about it, either. The latex straps are thin and unfinished without any hardware or trim. The dildo is made of body-safe materials, but it doesn’t have a pleasant feel or finish. The sculpted head and ridges are barely noticeable. The dildo is securely attached and stays in place during play, although the straps do stretch out during extended wear.

Ease of Use

This is where the simple design shines. It’s very easy to put on, although you may have to adjust the straps for a secure fit. If you have long hair, we suggest tying it back. Facial hair can be another complicating factor.

But once you’ve got it on, you’re good to go. There are no buttons to press or app to download. You’ll need good lube, but most folks won’t need prep or training to accommodate this dildo.

Versatility

No, not really. Lux Fetish’s The Original Facilitator has one job. While technically you can use the dildo for anything else that you’d use a dildo for, the straps would get in the way and it’s not the world’s greatest dildo. This is a novelty sex toy that can be surprisingly fun, but it’s still a novelty and not a utility player.

Warranty and Support

Lux Fetish’s website states that they will accept returns on items “damaged due to a production fault.” You may be entitled to additional protection or support from the retailer you purchase from. However, this is a budget product and you should calibrate your expectations accordingly.

Cleaning

You can clean the dildo portion of Lux Fetish’s The Original Facilitator with warm soapy water or sex toy cleaner. Be sure to dry it thoroughly before storing it away. It should be stored in a cool, dark, dry area to keep the latex from degrading. The harness can be spot-cleaned as needed.

Alternatives to the Original Facilitator by Lux Fetish

If you’re intrigued by chin dildos and face dildos but aren’t feeling like this is the one for you, we suggest:

Sportsheets’ Pivot In Your Face Strap-On

While it serves a very similar purpose, the Pivot In Your Face Strap-On is a definite upgrade compared to Lux Fetish’s The Original Facilitator. It’s made from double-layer neoprene instead of thin latex, and it has medical-grade fasteners to ensure a close customized fit. The harness is also able to accommodate most dildos with a flared base, so you can use the one provided or swap out for your personal favorite!

Accommodator Dong by CalExotics

If you liked Lux Fetish’s The Original Facilitator, you’ll probably like the Accommodator Dong; if you didn’t like it, you’ll probably want to pass on this one too. They are similar products with similar function and similar appeal. The Accommodator Dong’s dildo is a little larger and made of silicone, and the harness does have adjusters for a better fit.
