Read my Hello Cake Bullet Vibe review to find out.
This is the third Hello Cake toy I’ve reviewed, and I’m consistently blown away by the level of power and high quality that they fit into toys with such a tiny size (not to mention the price point). While the Bullet Vibe is certainly impressive, however, it didn’t quite match the other two in my opinion. Its size and shape made it awkward to hold, and pressing the button was not quite as easy as advertised.
Who Should Try It? If you want a powerful vibe that you can travel with or tuck safely into a hidden corner of your room without being noticed, this is a great toy to get. And as with any toy that’s uncomfortable to hold, I would recommend using it for partner play and letting your partner be the one to deal with the uncomfortable hand vibrations.
Who Can Skip It? On the box, it says, “The perfect starter vibe”, but I don’t think that’s true. The vibrations are extremely intense, to the point where I found some of them a little bit painful. If you love the idea of the toy, but want something that’s a little gentler, go with the Hello Cake Pocket Wand instead. Not only is it less intense, but it’s also easier to hold and I personally prefer the soft pink color.
You Can Buy It on the official Hello Cake website for $20.
What Is The Hello Cake Bullet Vibe?
The Bullet Vibe is an appropriately pocket-sized external vibrator from Hello Cake. At first I wasn’t sure whether it was meant for internal use as well as external use. The language on the website is extremely delicate—they did mention using lube, but since Hello Cake specializes in selling lube, they tend to recommend it with all their products. The shape certainly looks like it would feel good to use internally so I was tempted. However, reading the fine print on the instruction booklet, it is for external use only. Also, upon opening it up and seeing it in person, it is too small to use internally.
First Impressions and Features
Unboxing
My biggest issue with the packaging is that there’s no mention of whether it can be used internally. Because of its shape and the lack of clarification, I can easily imagine someone inserting it, thinking that’s the correct thing to do. While I’m sure nothing that bad would happen if they did, some clarification on that front would be more helpful than having an entire side of the box dedicated to telling us how long it lasts on a full charge (70-50 minutes, if you’re wondering):
But at least this box just called it “powerful”, not “mighty powerful” like the other two Hello Cake boxes I’ve looked at. Which is actually a little ironic since it’s the most powerful. Well, I guess Margaret Thatcher was right when she said, “Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you aren’t.” But, you know, if she was talking about sex toys.
That said, the packaging overall is fine, though it does have more plastic than I’d like. A reusable cloth bag would make more sense for a toy that’s so obviously meant to be travel-friendly and discreet.

How Do I Use The Bullet Vibe?
- First, charge up your Bullet with the included (and adorably color-coordinated) magnetic charging cable
- The light on the base will blink as the toy is charging, then glow steadily when it’s ready for playtime
- It’s always a good idea to put a bit of lube on the product (and despite what Hello Cake suggests on their site, you can use any water-based lube you want, not just one of theirs)
- Place the bullet against your clitoris or any other external erogenous zone
- Press and hold the button on the bottom to turn it on
- Continue pressing the button to cycle through the 10 vibration modes
- Long hold the button to turn it off
My Personal Experience
Design
The Bullet Vibe has a lot going for it, but unfortunately, it has one pretty big design flaw. The box says that the button is “Fumble-Proof”, but the button was precisely what I had a problem with. Unlike the Pocket Wand, which had a rounded head and therefore could be held at an angle, the Bullet works best when it’s held straight-on. Unfortunately, that means that unless you really wrap your hand around the toy to keep it from moving (hard to do with a toy so small), every time you press the button, you’re bound to jam it up against your clit every time. For most toys, that would be a mild inconvenience, but for something this powerful, that’s really not ideal.
One thing that impressed me, though, was how the vibrations that traveled to my hand weren’t that bad. I know “not that bad” sounds like faint praise, but for a bullet this small, this powerful, and without a dedicated handle, I am very impressed.
Material
The Bullet Vibe is made of Silicone and non-toxic ABS. While it is soft and smooth, it isn’t flexible or squishy.
Stimulations
There are ten stimulations, three of which are basic vibes that increase in intensity and seven of which are patterns. But even at its lowest intensity, the Bullet Vibe is extremely powerful, and there’s not much difference between the first and third levels. The patterns are intense, too, so I would be hesitant to recommend this toy to a beginner.
Sound Level
While no vibrator can be completely silent, the Bullet Vibe is surprisingly quiet for how powerful it is.
Build Quality and Dimensions
With a height of 3.5 inches and a width of 0.9 inches, this is absolutely tiny, while still being perfectly functional and high quality. It’s the smallest of the Hello Cake models I’ve looked at (yet curiously doesn’t have the “travel friendly” label on the box that the Pocket Wand did). If you want a sex toy that you can travel with discreetly while still having a great time, the Bullet Vibe is a great option.
Ease of Use
Since it only has one button, the Bullet Vibe is extremely intuitive to use. My only issue with it was the location of the button. Since it was on the bottom, it was a little awkward to hold. Aside from that, every time I pressed it, I jammed the toy against my clit at the same time. For a toy this powerful, that wasn’t always the most pleasant experience. Considering its size and shape, I get that there really wasn’t another place for the button to be, but it was the only thing that detracted from my experience.
Versatility
The Bullet Vibe is only meant for external use, but because of its shape, it can be used for precision or for broader pleasure.
Warranty and Support
Hello Cake will offer a refund, replacement, or credit if you’re not happy with your Bullet Vibe after 30 days.
Minor Issues I Found During Testing
My only issue with the Bullet Vibe was the fact that its shape made it hard to hold while pressing the button comfortably.
Review Summary
Pros
- Small size
- Extremely powerful
- 10 vibration modes
Cons
- Might be too intense for some people
- Small size made it hard to hold comfortably while pressing the button
Alternatives to the Bullet Vibe
Hello Cake Pocket Wand
Hello Cake’s Pocket Wand is very similar to their Bullet Vibe, I just liked the design choices better. Because of its shape, it was much easier to hold the handle off to the side and get a good grip on it before pressing the button (my biggest issue with the Bullet). I also just liked the color and overall aesthetic a lot more, since it looked like it was designed to be petite and cute, whereas the Bullet looks like a regular vibrator that was shrunk down. The Pocket Wand is also much less powerful than the Bullet. Now, everything I’ve just said might make you prefer the Bullet even more, but those are my preferences, so I’m going to recommend the Pocket Wand as a slightly better alternative.
Smile Makers Collection The Whisperer
The Whisperer is another high-quality external vibe for under $50. At just under 4”, it’s a little bigger than the Bullet Vibe, but its added length means it’s easier to hold and press the button. While there is a big difference in its gentlest and most powerful intensities, it only has five vibration modes, which isn’t a lot. It’s also not as powerful as the Bullet Vibe, since it’s specifically designed as a gentle toy for new moms, or anyone who’s new to the world of pleasure.
I am Sold! Where Can I Buy It?
You can get your own Bullet Vibe from Hello Cake for $20.
