Couples toys that work together can be sex lifesavers for anyone who’s in a long-distance relationship, even temporarily. However, connectivity, too much setup, and lag time can ruin the mood if the devices don’t work together in concert.
As I embarked on this Lovense Solace Pro and Mission 2 Couple Set review, I wanted to find out if it was double the pleasure and double the fun or if the teledildonics didn’t stand up to repeated testing.
This couple set worked incredibly well together and is easily worth the price. The app was seamless, the remote control and pairing were intuitive, and it created a sense of play. But be sure that whoever uses the Lovense Solace Pro will use it solely mounted to furniture. It works poorly as a hand-held device. Lastly, this will work only for a heterosexual pair.
Who Should Try It? Anyone in a heterosexual relationship who experiences long periods of distance will be thrilled with this setup, especially if you want to use the suction cup and desk mount for hands-free stimulation.
Who Can Skip It? If you don’t have time to wait for a sale, these two devices will make a sizeable dent in your wallet, and people on a budget may want to find a more affordable pairing, like We-Vibe Tease Us. If you want to feel the exact same sensations (like a thrust), you should pair the Solace Pro with the Lovense Gravity, which is a thrusting dildo and will make the experience even more realistic.
You Can Buy It on the official Lovense website for $279.
What Is the Lovense Solace Pro and Mission 2 Couple Set?
When you can’t be together but you still want to get off together, you enter the world of teledildonics, where Long-distance Relationship Real-time Sync Couples toys can transfer the sense of touch from you to your partner no matter the distance. The Lovense Mission 2 is a red vibrating suction cup dildo that works well internally or externally for anyone with a vulva. The Lovense Solace Pro is a penis stroker that you can mount on furniture (a desk worked best for us) for hands-free play.
But the app is where your fun connects. The app allows one partner to control both toys or to link their sensations. You can chat, video chat, create patterns, send photos, and more, creating sensual fun for long-distance couples. The options are endless, but the intimacy will make you feel closer than ever.
First Impressions and Features
Unboxing
The unboxing on both was similarly adequate. The branding on the sturdy white cardboard boxes they came in was comparable, not overly sensational but informative. Each comes with separate storage bags, charging cables, and instructional manuals. The Solace Pro has a desk mount and everything you need to set it up. The Lovense Mission 2 comes with a hinge that screws into a suction cup base so that you can mount it on the floor or a wall with a flat surface.
Besides a sample packet of water-based lube, each device has everything you need to start getting intimate with your long-distance partner.

How Do I Use the Lovense Solace Pro and Mission 2 Couple Set?
After you unbox both teledildonic toys, you’ll need to do a little setup to use them in tandem, even if you aren’t using the app yet. Charge each according to their instruction manual. Wash each part of the Mission 2 with antibacterial soap and warm water, then dry with a lint-proof cloth. Wash the TPE sleeve and then assemble the Solace Pro. The device has six buttons, so you may want to keep the user manual handy the first time you use it.
Though these sex toys are high-tech, assembly isn’t too bad. To use Mission 2, you’ll need to find the suction cup base, which you can find because the bottom is concave. Then, screw the part that is not the dildo on top of that until it is firmly in place. Lastly, screw the vibrating dildo on top. The Mission 2 has two buttons: the first is a larger button that turns the toy on or off and cycles you through the three intensities and four rhythms; the smaller button switches you between Touch Sense Mode and Button Mode.
Next, you’ll want to find a flat patch of floor or wall, like hardwood or tile, where you can use the suction cup.
Whoever uses the Solace Pro should find a piece of furniture with a ledge that will work with the mount (circled in the image above). In our house, the desk in the office worked best. Secure it to the ledge, attach the stroker, and then rotate the screw at the elbow joint to fasten it at the most comfortable angle.
Grab some water-based lubricant for both devices (water-based lube will protect their body-safe exteriors) and get started!
My Personal Experience
Whether or not toys are meant to be tried together, my partner and I use them together anyway, partially because we have one million and partially because we are codependent. I use toys separately, of course, but it’s always more fun when there’s someone else around to join in. So, trying a couple set meant for use together was extra exciting—even though it meant my partner would be masturbating in the office.
Once everything was set up, we had a blast. We switched off who was in control, and it was straightforward to maneuver. We tried high settings, low settings, and creating our own patterns. Chatting was fun, too, and you can do so much exploring together. Even though we had tried the app before, using it with toys paired to it opened up so many possibilities. Whenever my partner must travel for work, he’ll be bringing the Solace Pro so we can stay connected. Highly recommend!
Stimulations
The stimulations on these two devices are nothing short of powerful. The stroker can move impressively fast, and the dildo’s vibrations are deep, rumbly, and inescapable—just how I like it. However, there’s also a broad spectrum of stimulation, thanks to the app. You can limit the stroke length, speed, or vibration intensity and keep things on the teasing end of the spectrum if you prefer.
Real-Time Synchronization
The real-time synchronization of the Lovense toys was incredible. When you adjust a setting, the vibrator and stroker respond instantaneously. No lag whatsoever!
Sound Level
These aren’t the quietest toys, but if you’re hooking up long-distance, perhaps no one will be around to hear. When you’re in the same room, however, they do cause a ruckus. Together, their sound levels ranged from 39 to 61 decibels.
Realism
The design of neither device is very realistic. The dildo has a head and some ridges down the side, but it’s a bright cherry red. The Solace Pro has a hole, but nothing else about its design is realistic. When pairing these two devices as a set, it’s probably best not to add in every ridge or realistic color because the detail may serve as a reminder that it doesn’t look very much like your partner’s genitals at all.
The versatility of the Lovense Solace Pro adds to the realism, however. You can adjust the stroke length to whatever feels closest to the real thing.
The Touch Sense Mode on the Mission 2 also heightened the realism. Touch Sense Mode allows you to program the dildo to respond to the touch of the vaginal walls (or your thighs or whatever else). In the app, you can program the touch sense mode to engage as you insert the device, and the deeper you thrust, the more intense the vibrations become. Tragically, most real-life penises don’t vibrate, so it doesn’t feel exactly like sex. But the fact that the sensations intensify with deeper thrusting is fun and unique.
I tried this mode internally and externally since I like to be thorough, and the Touch Sense worked equally well both ways. When I used the vibrator externally on my clit, I could hold it in place with my thighs, and the tighter I squeezed, the more sensations I received.
One aspect that isn’t very realistic is that you aren’t feeling the same sensations. When the penis-haver feels stroking, the dildo doesn’t experience thrusts, just vibration. If you wanted it to feel as close to actual penis-in-vagina sex as possible, you’d have to pair the Lovense Solace Pro with a thrusting dildo, like the Lovense Gravity, which would work with the app.
Ease of Use
The Mission 2 is a bit more difficult to use than most vibrating dildos because there are some pieces to set up as well as an app to learn before you get all the functionality it has to offer. My partner and I found that it’s best to get everything set up well before you plan to use it because fumbling around with desk mounts, suction cups, and programming your gadgets isn’t the best foreplay. If you’re ready in advance, nothing will come between you and your long-distance partner.
This set also gets a mid-range review for how easy they are to clean. Since the dildo has a hole at the base where you screw in the suction cup dildo components, there are several ridges to clean on all parts, and it’s a good idea to use a toothbrush during each cleaning to remove all the dried lube or anything else that may attract bacteria.
The Solace Pro is somewhat easy to clean as well. You remove the stroking sleeve and wash it well with antibacterial soap, ensuring you get in between all the internally textured bumps and ridges. Further, since the sleeve is tacky, it will be hard to sterilize in the long term, so you’ll eventually need to replace it to ensure you aren’t encountering nasty bacteria every time you jerk off.
Once everything was set up, using the app to control the devices was seamless. We never experienced connectivity issues and didn’t have any lag between adjusting the intensity or rhythm and when the device responded. The app was clearly built with the user in mind.
Lovense Remote App
Lovense has the best app that I’ve ever used in conjunction with sex toys. Others are good, but none have as much versatility or are as helpful to cammers as the Lovense app. Their connectivity is the best I’ve tried, and so I was optimistic that my partner and I would have a successful long-distance encounter (semi-long-distance, anyway; he was in the office, and I was in the bedroom) when we tried the Lovense Solace Pro Mission 2 as a set.
To begin, you must both download the Lovense Remote app. It’s free, and it walks you through all the steps you need to start playing with your partner. On the home page, you’ll see “My Patterns,” where you can create different patterns for all of the Lovense devices you own, “Control Link,” where you can send someone a link to temporarily allow them to operate your sex toy (which is an excellent way to monetize camming), and “Music,” where you create playlists that the sensations will sync with.
In the top right corner is a plus sign with a dropdown menu that allows you to add people, create a group, add a toy, or scan QR codes. If this is the first time using the toy in tandem with the app, you’ll click “add toy.” Turn the toy on, and you’ll see it pop up in the list of devices that you can connect to the app.
Then, you can name the toy, use the program setting to add six patterns, limit the maximum strength (even if a partner is controlling it), calibrate it for Touch Sense mode, check the battery life, turn off the LED lights for more discreet use, enable Auto-Stop which automatically stops the toy if there is a Bluetooth interruption, and update firmware if necessary. You can even set up the device to return to the last-used level if it disconnects accidentally, reducing the impact of any Internet disruptions.
Once your device is connected, you can return to the home page and click the bottom middle button that says “Long Distance.” Here, you can add people with whom you want to play to your contacts. They also have a Lovense Orgy option where you can supposedly vibe with strangers around the world. However, when I clicked on it, it seemed like it was an expired coupon and that no orgy was currently available. Once you and your partner have connected on the app, the rest of the experience was very intuitive.
There are several ways to play, all of them fun. You can control your partner’s device while they control yours. Or, one person can control them both separately, using the two different touchpoints on the screen. You can sync the sensations so that when one increases in intensity, the other does, too. And you can move from one to the other without hassle.
One thing to note is that the Touch Sense Mode doesn’t work with the synced control of the app, so you’ll have to choose between the two when you’re playing with your partner.
Versatility
Something that immediately limited this set’s versatility is that the Mission 2 says that it’s not for anal use, likely because the base of the toy isn’t flared. A quick design fix would have made this pairing much more versatile and inclusive of same-sex couples. I hope that, in the future, this is something they consider for app-controllable toys for long-distance couples.
The other drawback that makes this set less versatile is that the devices aren’t as fun to use together as they are apart. If you aren’t someone who uses sex toys when you have your partner around, this may not concern you at all. But if you’d like to watch your partner use it in person at some point, there are better options.
The problem is that the Lovense Solace Pro is incredibly difficult to use when it’s not mounted to furniture. My partner’s arm got tired, and he became frustrated trying to hold it steady enough that it was stroking his erection rather than the other portion of the stroker moving. Further, the Mission 2 is noisy compared to most vibrators I own. It sounded like I was getting railed by a dump truck driving through a nitroglycerin plant. The combination of the two made for a much less sexy in-person playtime. However, this could have been rectified if I had agreed to have sex in the office, where my partner could have mounted the Solace Pro to the desk, and I could have used the suction cup on the desk as well. The noise would have remained a distraction.
On the other hand, both devices can be used hands-free, which is especially handy because you’ll want both hands for operating your phone. And the app gives you endless options for pattern creation and virtual connection.
Warranty and Support
Lovense offers a one-year warranty covering faulty workmanship or materials if the device has been used in accordance with the instruction manual. The TPE sleeve, which comes with the Lovense Solace Pro, is only covered for ninety days. This isn’t the most extended warranty out there, but it’s decent. Since these devices are pricy, you’ll want to put them through the ringer right away so that you can get any issues taken care of before the warranty expires.
Minor Issues I Found During Testing
I was incredibly impressed by how much fun this pair was to use, even though I’m not in a long-distance relationship. If I had to nitpick, I’d say that this pair isn’t the most versatile or inclusive. It’s not great for use when you’re together, and it only works for couples with different genitals. That said, I think it would be an incredible investment for couples who are long-distance, especially for long periods of time.

Review Summary
Pros
- Connectivity was consistent
- The Lovense Remote app was easy to use and intuitive
- No lag time
- Somewhat realistic and very intimate
Cons
- Mission 2 retails for $260, and the Solace Pro costs nearly $400 when not on sale
- Not the ideal pair to use in person, in bed
Alternatives to the Lovense Solace Pro and Mission 2 Couple Set
We-Vibe Tease Us Set
We-Vibe also specializes in couples’ long-distance toys, and they have two versions of their Tease Us Set, one with two Moxie+ (wearable clitoral panty vibes), and one with a Moxie+ and a Bond (a cock ring.) They get bonus points for being more inclusive since they cater to couples with two vulvas rather than merely heterosexual couples. The cost is $279 for the two toys, making the We-Vibe set the cheaper choice. However, the We-Vibe app isn’t nearly as nuanced and thoughtful as the Lovense is. If you want the best of the best, the Lovense duo is better, but the We-Vibe set will work well for those new to long-distance play.
