The Tawse Small Silicone Love Paddle by Tantus is quite longish, somewhat narrow, and obviously a spit-impact play toy that, while called a “paddle,” is closer to a slapper. If you don’t know what that is, slappers tend to be the same shape and size. But unlike paddles, they are known for creating a distinctively sharp sound when … well, “sledded” against someone’s posterior.
The product is made from body-safe, animal-friendly silicone. Unlike leather, silicon is usually easier to care for and won’t wear out as quickly as animal-based products. How to Use The Tantus Tawse Small Silicone Love Paddle?
Tantus Tawse is mostly a spanking style toy and as such should only be used to impact a person’s ass. Though some may enjoy getting hit on other parts of their bodies, I’m a kinkster who believes in safety above all else. For example, hitting a person’s thighs might result in potentially serious injuries. Getting swatted on the ass, however, is largely safe, though you should always avoid impacting the tailbone, which is, after all, part of their spine.
As I discussed previously, this product can also be used as a penetrative toy. Having said that, I would recommend using it mostly for impact play. Why? Well, to be honest, it’s not particularly great for anal or vaginal insertion, especially when there are a bevy of higher-quality playthings out there already.
My Personal Experience
It took a fair amount of time for my partner and me to get used to swinging (and getting hit by) Tantus Tawse. Not that it’s a poorly designed or crafted impact plaything, just that controlling it required a little more practice to get it to land precisely where it should.
Then there’s its extreme floppiness. You see, while there’s a whole galaxy of different paddles, crops, and so forth out there, a majority of impact play toys are semi-rigid. The reason for this is two-fold. First, this makes them easier to control. Second, it means the person wielding them knows exactly how hard (or light) they are going to hit.
Not so with SheVibe’s Tantus Small Silicone Love Paddle. As my partner and I played with it, we kept having to take a break to practice swinging it. More than anything, because its floppiness made it difficult to target where it would land accurately. But once we spent time with it, we quickly got used to its eccentricities and thoroughly enjoyed its remarkably intense sensations.
Design
Tantus Tawse is a dual-purpose impact-play toy. Primarily, it is a split-type, close-to-slapper plaything. But its handle can also be utilized for either vaginal or anal insertion activities.
As said, while this is an option, I recommend instead using it just as an impact play toy. If you are interested in mixing these two radically different activities, rather than trying to find something capable of doing both, get yourself a nice, high-quality dildo and butt plug to go along with this spanking paddle.
Another point against using it as a pseudo-dildo is the handle (image below), which might make it difficult to clean effectively. This is something every penetrative toy, be it for anal or vaginal play, absolutely must be capable of. If not, bacteria could grow and spread, resulting in an extremely nasty infection.

The Tawse Small Silicone Love Paddle by Tantus is fashioned from body-safe, super high-quality non-reactive silicone. As a result, it’s likely to be easier to maintain, as leather toys are often more prone to wear and tear than those made from synthetic materials.
Build Quality and Dimensions
At fifteen and three-quarters from one end to the other, Tawse is an impressively well-designed and manufactured impact-play toy. Examining it closely, it appears the entire paddle was created from a single mold, as I couldn’t find any attachment points to anything else.
Ease of Use
I have to say that it took a greater amount of time to get used to swinging this model than other impact plays I’ve had the pleasure of reviewing. Its flexibility may make it fall on the more intense side, but it comes with a fairly steep learning curve. With this in mind, I feel it’s not something people new to impact play scenes may want to pick up. But for those familiar with how paddles and their ilk can feel, then by all means, Tawse is a BDSM toy worth considering.
Versatility
Though billed as a double-use model, in my opinion, Tantus Tawse does one thing well and the other … not so much. Yes, you’re right: when it comes to penetrative play, it’s quite lacking. However, once you get used to its eccentricities as an impact play toy, then it may very well become a personal favorite.

SheVibe doesn’t offer refunds or exchanges after an item leaves their warehouse. Tantus has a case-by-case replacement policy for anything they make if it has a manufacturing defect.
Minor Issues I Found During Testing
Aside from my belief that Tawse shouldn’t be marketed as a double-duty plaything, I also think it’s less of a learning toy and more something extremely experienced impact-play enthusiasts would find pleasurable. Even so, you should factor in a respectable length of time in order to get used to how it behaves, and how to get it to go where you and those you play with want it to.
