Lovense Lush 4The news was shocking today: Lovense has released the Lush 4, the latest in their series of wearable, app-controlled egg vibrators. What’s new about it? Quite a bit. For starters, the design is different from its predecessors: a thicker neck for durability and a silver tail tip that delivers a captivating light show for your senses. Are the new designs deftly dovetailed, or do they complicate to a tried-and-true vibe? Let’s find out together in this Lovense Lush 4 review.

Key Takeaways
4.9 out of 5 stars

I was impressed by the stimulations the Lovense Lush 4 provided. Even the lowest setting was strong enough to get me off. Wearing it around the house before sex gave me a pleasantly full feeling, and the vibrations were a nice touch that helped get me in the mood before playing with my partner. I also enjoyed wearing it while my partner went down on me. The light lit up his face, which was hot.

If you’ve never had an egg vibrator and want to start at the top of the line, nothing will top the Lush 4. It’s so much fun to play with, it’s worth every penny.

Who Should Try It? Cammers, people who love public play or are in a long-distance relationship, and anyone who wants a hands-free pleasure device will be pleased with this upgrade. If you like masturbating for hours, the app will make it more fun than you can imagine.

Who Can Skip It? Those already owning Lush 3 may not need to get their wallets out yet (unless you’re a cammer). The Lush 4 offers an elegant redesign with a light on the pointed tail, but the stimulations are not dramatically different. And if you don’t need a cutting-edge app, you could save money by buying a cheaper egg vibrator, like the Mantric Rechargeable Remote Control Egg Vibrator, which is $80 and comes with a remote control for hands-free use.

You Can Buy It on the official Lovense website for $129.

What Is the Lovense Lush 4?

The Lovense Lush 4 is an egg vibrator with a first-rate app and loads of versatility. It’s waterproof, small, and ready to travel. It’s the perfect companion to anal sex for extra stimulation. The LED light show means camming is a cinch and it provides a new incentive for your audience to tip. Its bulbous shape targets the G-spot with gentle friction, so you don’t need to thrust or move to feel the pleasure of the powerful vibrations. The app helps you create your own patterns, use patterns that others have made, or allow your partner to control your pleasure from miles away. You can wear it discreetly for public play, pair it with another toy by using it hands-free, or amp up intimacy with your partner.

First Impressions and Features

Unboxing

The unboxing experience was great. The Lush 4 comes in a sturdy white box—the kind you might find earbuds or a phone in. Inside is the charging cable and a set of instructions (seen in the image below). What’s notably missing is a storage bag and lube—these are two items you’ll want to purchase before you play. Otherwise, you might want to plan to store the Lush 4 in the box it arrives in. That works, as it will be protected from the elements, but it’s not waterproof and it won’t keep it sterile, so you’ll need to wash it before and after each use. The lack of a storage bag was a little startling for a vibrator of this echelon.

How Do I Use the Lovense Lush 4?

Using the Lovense Lush 4 can be as simple or complicated as you like. Let’s start with the basics.

After you unbox the Lovense Lush 4, the first step is ensuring it is fully charged. The user manual suggested that it would take 50 minutes to charge fully after being completely drained. When I tested it, it took fifty-three minutes to charge and then lasted three hours and forty-five minutes on a full charge. Overall, that’s not a bad battery ratio. To charge it, plug the USB charging cable into a wall wart (which isn’t included) and then align the magnetic charging pins until the red light shines from the back of the smaller arm. When it’s done charging, the light will turn off.

The next step is washing your Lush 4 with warm water and antibacterial soap or a sex toy cleaner. Allow it to dry; then, find your favorite water-based lubricant and put plenty on the bulbous arm and some in your vulva. Slide the internal arm in until it feels comfortable. Now, you’ll need to decide if you’d prefer to use the toy manually or via the app.

To use the Lush 4 manually, press the power button and hold for three seconds to turn it on or off. Briefly tapping this button will cycle you through two intensity level increases and seven different vibration patterns.

If you’d like to use your phone, download the Lovense Remote app. It will help guide you through the process of pairing the Lush 4 to your device. But you’ll need to turn the toy on so that the app can locate it. After that, you can press the plus button on the app to add your toy. The Lovense Remote app gives you infinite customizability of your personal playtime, but there is a learning curve. After you play with it a few times, you’ll get the feel for it. Compared with other sex toy apps, the Lovense Remote app is a breeze to learn and a joy to use.

Lastly, there’s another app that you can connect the Lovense Lush 4 to: VibeMate. Here, you can sync the vibes to your favorite adult content, manually control it, or choose another sync mode. If you want to sync the stimulations to porn, this app is your go-to.

When you’re done, don’t forget to wash it and store it safely away from other silicone toys. It doesn’t come with a storage bag, so your best bet is to keep it in the box or buy a makeup bag that the Lush 4 can fit snugly inside. Tossing it into your nightstand won’t preserve it as well, and since this is an investment sex toy, the makeup bag is worth the purchase.

My Personal Experience

In my early sex toy testing days, I received the Lush 3, and it was the first time I had ever experienced the Lovense app. It’s my favorite sex toy app—no one has ever topped it, though others have come close. Since I was so impressed by that vibe, I couldn’t wait to find out what new upgrades and changes Lovense made with the latest iteration in their Lush series. As expected, the app worked like a dream and I had zero problems with connectivity.

The instruction manual said you could use this toy walking around in public, long-distance, with a partner, or solo, and I tried it every which way. Most of the time, it takes more than G-spot vibration for me to get off, so I enjoyed it best as a precursor to sex or as an accessory to sex. Wearing it around the house before sex gave me a pleasantly full feeling, and the vibrations were a nice touch that helped get me in the mood before playing with my partner. I also enjoyed wearing it while my partner went down on me, though I had to move the tail out of the way. The light lit up his face, which was hot. The views are breathtaking with this vibe.

This is the second device I’ve tried recently that has a light show component, and at first, I didn’t understand what all the fuss was about. It lessens the discretion and makes it quite a bit more obvious if you’re masturbating, but you can shut it off entirely in the app. But during partnered play, my partner enjoyed the light. The light it emits is tough to see in the demonstration video below, but it is ambient, gorgeous, and warm. It’s almost like masturbating with a candle. Ah, the vibes! And playing with the colors turned out to be a lot of fun. I love the light show so much because it engages another sense. You can feel the vibrations, hear them (or sync them with music or your partner’s voice), and now you can see them, too.

Packaging

Since the Lush 3 came with a storage bag, I was expecting the Lush 4 would as well, but that was not the case. This one didn’t have a storage bag. Recently, I’ve received a few toys that came without storage pouches, which leads me to wonder if the industry standard is changing to mitigate manufacturing costs. Time will tell! But the pouches they used to send were among the nicest: black satin with a drawstring closure. I’m getting excited just thinking about it! Now they’re gone, so factor that in if you’re budgeting for this vibrator.

Design

The design of the external arm has changed since the Lovense Lush 3. The new one has a silvery coating with a slit that lights up red while it charges and then turns off once it’s finished. It almost looks like a tiger’s eye, and it’s more angular and less rounded than the Lush 3’s tail, making me hope that it would vibrate, since I love pinpoint stimulation. The upgrade looks cool, but it adds a seam where the two materials meet, making it slightly more complicated to clean, and cleaning is the only portion of sex that I like to rush through.

The Lush 4 also has a thicker neck than the Lush 3, which makes it less flexible but perhaps more durable. On the one hand, you won’t have to worry as much about the neck breaking, but its thickness made it slightly less comfortable for me to wear. The thickness, unfortunately, doesn’t lend stay-in-place precision like I was hoping it would—it will still move a little bit, just like the Lush 3, and is not posable. It does not feel as stealthy and agile for public play, like a tiny secret slipped inside you. This one feels more like hardware, but that won’t matter much to anyone using the Lush 4 primarily for shorter periods and private play.

Lovense Lush 4

I was hoping that, in the latest iteration of this toy, there would be two motors. There’s only one motor—for the G-spot—and the tail, though it’s hovering right around your clit, lies dormant. The tiniest amount of vibration travels through the arm, but it is not enough for me to get off from clitoral stimulation, and I am as sensitive as they come. A large percentage of people with vulvas won’t reach orgasm without clitoral stimulation, so it would be a nice option if possible.

Material

The material on the Lovense Lush 4 is IPX7 waterproof, which makes cleaning easier and opens the possibility of shower sex! It’s top quality and feels incredible. It’s not the silkiest silicone I’ve felt but it is firm enough to feel long-lasting.

Stimulations

I was immediately impressed by the stimulations the Lovense Lush 4 provided. Even the lowest setting was strong enough to get me off. The vibrations ranged from pleasantly deep to brightly buzzy, but they didn’t travel through the arm to my clitoris much. However, I took the Lush 4 out and tried it as a clitoral vibrator, and that worked like a charm. Even on the lowest setting, I had several orgasms.

Sound Level

When I tested the sound level, it ranged from 35 to 49 decibels. It’s not whisper quiet, but it’s not intrusive either.

Build Quality and Dimensions

The build quality and dimensions are nearly indistinguishable from prior versions of the Lush. Every Lovense device I’ve ever put my hands on overwhelmed me with the quality and attention to detail.

The shape is bulbous enough that the Lush 4 will stay in place for hours, but you’ll want to use more lube than you think and stay turned on in order for it to be comfortable for long-term wear.

Smartphone App

How do I love thee, Lovense app, let me count the ways! Once you connect your G-spot vibe, there are so many fun ways to customize it. It’s like having a new video game console, except instead of winning, you orgasm. The way that Lovense incorporates play into their toys is innovative, and I can’t get enough of it.

A new upgrade you’ll want to try with the Lush 4 is that you can activate or deactivate the LED light in the app, which is nice because I’m one of those weirdos who thinks red clashes with pink, but luckily, I can customize the colors. You can also create your own patterns or try a stranger’s patterns. I’m not someone who loves patterns, but there is something fun about the idea of an internet stranger matching my freak in a way that gets us both off anonymously.

Me demonstrating the smartphone app

The app is especially friendly for cammers. You can easily send links to viewers who have tipped at a certain level and allow them to control the Lush for a predetermined amount of time. Bonus: you can limit the amount of available power on the Lush 4, so if you’re a sensitive girly like I am, you could put the ceiling at 30% so that your audience doesn’t give you sensory overload.

Over the years, Lovense has slowly but surely updated its app, and it’s better than ever. Between the ability to play recognizable games like Tetris and 2048 to gamify sex and pleasure to the ease with which you can connect with a long-distance partner, I am always impressed with this application and I regularly use it. Now it has something called “Voice Control” which, rather than responding to noise, responds to commands using AI. So you can say things like, “Increase toy vibration,” and then the toy will do exactly that! It’s handy but not perfectly accurate, but it’s perfect if your kink is bossing your vibrator around. You can also play control roulette and let a stranger control your vibe in real time. It’s a virtual hookup, which is fun and easier than ever.

Ease of Use

The Lush 4 has a one-button interface and it’s easy to use. If you want to skip the app and only use the tail to control it, it’s easy, intuitive, and stress-free. However, that will reduce the versatility since it’s difficult to use for public play if you must reach down your pants or skirt every time you want to change a setting. You might tip the public off. But using the Lush 4 with the app is simple and worthwhile.

Versatility

It might be quicker to note what this vibe can’t do. It’s versatile as it can be and has only a few limits. It’s not for anal play, it doesn’t offer dual stimulation, and the only kind of stimulation it offers is vibration.

The device charging

Aside from that, nearly anything is possible with the Lush 4, and what it can do, it does very well. There aren’t many devices more versatile than this one.

Warranty and Support

Lovense offers a one-year warranty and a ten-year quality guarantee on the Lush 4. This G-spot egg vibrator is built to last!

Minor Issues I Found During Testing

I love the Lush 4, but I do wish the redesign had focused more on comfort than aesthetics and durability. It’s hard to strike the perfect balance between the two, but this one was noticeably less comfortable to wear than the Lush 3 for extended play periods. I also miss the storage bag.

Alternatives to the Lovense Lush 4

Lovense Lush 3

The concept has remained the same since the beginning of the Lush series: it’s a neon pink egg vibrator that solely targets the G-spot. You can still buy the original for $69 on sale, but a lot has changed for the better since Lovense had the initial idea for a public-play egg vibrator. For instance, the Lush 3 had a battery life that lasted nearly four hours and would take 85 minutes to charge. The Lush 4 is quicker to charge and lasts nearly the same amount of time.

Lovense Lush 3 lying on a bathtub

The tail on the Lush 4 has a silver plate with a slit that delivers a dazzling light show, so that aesthetic may sound appealing to some. The Lush 3 came with a storage bag, and the Lush 4 does not have one, so that’s a downgrade. The Lush 3’s skinnier neck was more comfortable for longer play but was much more breakable. Cammers will undoubtedly want to upgrade!
