Lovense Mission 2Suction cup dildos are popular for people who like to mix up positions or keep their hands free during sex and masturbation. If you love the feeling of doggy-style sex but aren’t acrobatic enough to curl your arm around your back to masturbate, the suction cup dildo is here to save the day. Stick it to a flat surface, like a wall, and voila! You have a doggy-style masturbation session at your fingertips. It can also make your double-penetration fantasies come true without finding another consenting partner. But what’s unique about the Lovense Mission 2 is its Touch Sense technology, which means that this smart dildo can sense how deep it has penetrated you and increase vibrating stimulations accordingly.

Many suction-cup dildos come up short because their suction isn’t strong enough, the base isn’t flexible enough to provide the perfect angle, or it still requires too much work to get off. Find out with me whether Lovense Mission 2 is the best suction cup dildo in my review!

Key Takeaways
4.6 out of 5 stars

Overall, this suction-cup dildo is perfect for anyone who wants some of the most upgraded tech on the market. The app makes the versatility unbeatable. If you don’t have one and enjoy internal stimulation, this device is a game changer. For those who have already purchased the original Lovense Mission, the second edition is only a must-purchase if you need an adjustable suction-cup base. The higher price is more than worth it for anyone who needs something versatile and tech-forward.

Who Should Try It? Thanks to its versatility, the Mission 2 is a crowd-pleaser. It is perfect for anyone who wants penetration-driven vibrations, a top-of-the-line app, is in a long-distance relationship, or likes to use two toys at once. It will also work well for those who need strong vibrations and want to try the ultimate sex toy for customization.

Who Can Skip It? If you need lots of length and girth or something realistic, this won’t fit the bill, and you’d be much happier with Vixen Creations Vixskin Maverick. Also, if you don’t enjoy internal stimulation, you probably don’t want to spend that much since you could get a much cheaper clitoral vibe, like the Dame Pom, which retails for around $95. Lastly, this dildo isn’t meant for anal use, and it won’t work for those who need G-spot stimulations on a budget.

You Can Buy It on the official Lovense website for $129.

What Is the Lovense Mission 2?

The Lovense Mission 2 is a tech-driven take on the classic suction-cup dildo (More on them in this article). App-compatible and ready for long-distance play, this sex toy has the latest technology, Touch-Sense Technology, which can turn up the vibrations the deeper the dildo penetrates. Further, you can control other Lovense toys long-distance just by masturbating. That means if your partner buys a stroker, you can control the stroke timing by thrusting this dildo. It’s novel, easier to use than you might think, and sturdy.

How Do I Use the Lovense Mission 2?

After unboxing the Lovense Mission 2, the first step is charging it. The website estimated that it would take 82 minutes to charge and then last almost four hours on a full charge. When I tested the battery, it lasted three hours and fifty-two minutes on the first setting, well under the expected battery life. To charge it, it took 81 minutes. I was surprised at how dead-on Lovense was about the charge time while being wrong about how long the battery would last. To charge it, simply align the magnetic charging pins on the dildo to the cable. When it’s correctly connected, a steady red LED light will shine (as you can see in the below image). When it’s fully charged, the light will turn off.

Next, wash all parts except for the connecting cable. The vibrator is waterproof, so the process is simple. Use warm water and antibacterial soap, then dry with a lint-proof towel. Set up the suction cup base by snapping one part into the other and then screwing the dildo on top. Fortunately, it’s visually obvious which part goes where, and if you’re confused, you can check the visual instructions in the manual. Now, you’re ready to go!

The device charging

Decide where you want to use the suction cup dildo. It will work on any flat surface, so you could use a sturdy table, the floor, the shower, or even a mirror. You can loosen and tighten it to adjust the angle so that it stays in place. You will need to use lube, even if you’re masturbating in the shower. Choose a water-based lube to keep this vibe body-safe as long as possible, and steer clear of anything with silicone lubricant. If you’re using lubricant and masturbating in the shower, do not pass go until you have put in a non-slip shower mat, or you are just begging for a head injury. Before you use the suction cup to stick this vibe into place, roughly measure where it should go by getting into your ideal position, like doggy-style in the shower. Adjust the angle and tighten the hinge so that it stays where you need it. Pro-tip: should your knees or hips be weak, you can use certain sex swings to take the weight off and give you some bounce.

If you want to use the toy manually, i.e. without the app, you will use the two-button interface: the smaller button on top and the larger button on bottom with the squiggles (You can see a closeup in the image below). Press the lower button for three seconds to turn on or off. The top button determines whether you are using button mode or touch-sensitive mode, so hold it down for three seconds to toggle between the two. One tap of the button will cycle you through the seven default patterns when you are in button mode. When you are in touch mode, one tap will guide you through the three different intensities.

If you want to use the app (which you should try at least once because it’s incredible), download it on your phone. Once you have the app, press the on/off button on the device and hold for three seconds, then open the app. Press the plus button to add the toy, and your Mission 2 should pop up. Tap it, and you’re connected! It’s that simple. Now you can sync it to your favorite songs, make your toy sound-activated, link up with long-distance partners, allow someone to control your toy, and more. The website says that the options for vibration patterns are limitless, and that’s a fact. You can customize each sensation easily and save your faves.

My Personal Experience

My mission, since I chose to accept it, was to find out how well the Lovense Mission 2 worked as a solo device, whether the suction cup stayed in place, and how well the app lent itself to solo play. Whenever there is any kind of setup with a sex toy, I’m immediately worried I’m going to do it wrong. I’m just not handy, so I was grateful that the suction cup was only two pieces and couldn’t be simpler to put together. Thanks to the visual guide, there is essentially no way to mess it up.

Overall, I felt like Mission 2 was excellent for multipurpose masturbating. I’m typically lazy and like to do so in bed as much as possible, so I would get as much use out of the suction cup as someone more adventurous or a cammer. But I loved that the functionality drew me out of my comfort zone and forced me to try something different. It was fun! And the app was perfect for solo play. I was mesmerized by the gamification of my pleasure sessions.

One of my favorite aspects of this new and improved suction cup vibe is how much bang you get for your buck. Though it tips the scales at over $100, this is a G-spot stimulator you can likely enjoy for years and never finish exploring. The Mission 2 has been put on a great sale since I reviewed it as a couples’ set, and now it only costs $129, plus $5 for shipping. It’s a good time to snatch this up while you can if this is a purchase you have been considering for a while!

Packaging

Lovense packaging is practical and pretty. I wish it came with a sample packet of water-based lube. That aside, it was everything I hoped for!

Design

I love the design. It’s fire engine red and realistic in shape but not in color or texture. It’s a nice middle ground between ultra-realistic and completely abstract. The design upgrade between the original Mission and Mission 2 includes the addition of a suction cup and the removal of the shiny plastic. It looks more modern and feels more luxurious than the original.

Lovense Mission 2

The tip is on the softer side, which makes it more comfortable to insert. But if you like solid, intense pressure on your G-spot, the softness might be frustrating. I was surprised that the vibrations weren’t dulled at all by the softness of the silicone, and that is all thanks to the genius of this design.

Material

Lovense made the Mission 2 out of the best possible materials. They blend of form and function and are gorgeous, waterproof, and body-safe. It could not be better!

Stimulations

The stimulations are potent. How potent? I was able to use this vibe (when I tested it as a clitoral vibe) outside my pants on the lowest setting. I’m super sensitive, but that’s a lot of power. Since the vibrations are rather fast, most of the settings land somewhere between rumbly and buzzy, and the top settings are definitively buzzy. The power is incredible—one of the most powerful non-wand vibrators I have used.

Sound Level

The website suggested that the Mission 2’s drone would never rise above 47 decibels, which is pretty darn quiet. When I tested the sound level, it ranged from 35 to 62, a little out of line with what was advertised.

Build Quality and Dimensions

Every Lovense toy I’ve used has had exceptional build quality. Their products are built to last, sturdy, and well-made.

As you can see in the image above, the dimensions are ideal, too. It’s a common misconception that only a giant dildo or penis can hit the right spot inside the vulva when in fact, the G-spot is only a couple of inches inside. The 5+ inch insertable length shows an up-to-date knowledge of how much length people with vulvas indeed need to have an internal orgasm. However, people who like extreme sizes and a feeling of intense pressure to get off will want to try something a bit larger. For me, it was perfect.

Smartphone App

I love the Lovense app, especially for masturbating. They have a unique game called Flappy Jump, where succeeding rewards you with extra sensations, and failing curtails all vibes. You can use the control ball to increase or decrease vibrations in real time or create a looped pattern so you don’t have to concentrate as much. In “My Patterns,” you can dream up and save your ten favorite patterns for use whenever you want. You can send a link to your long-distance partner to let them control your suction-cup dildo temporarily. Further, you can link your devices so that when you insert the dildo, it makes their device thrust (if they have the Solace Pro, for instance.) The app can also sync to music, make this dildo your alarm clock, and more.

Me demonstrating the Lovense Remote App

The incredible thing about the Lovense Remote App is that it has a ton of versatility and is also reliable. There’s no repeatedly pushing buttons and wondering when the toy will respond. Everything works like clockwork, without lag time or connectivity issues.

Ease of Use

Lovense takes every opportunity to make their app easy to learn and their devices easy to use. If you don’t know where to start and aren’t in the mood to read through directions, they have videos on their website that make it simple, including one that reviews the features, one that demonstrates the app, and one that shows you how to assemble the base. This format is inclusive for people who don’t speak English as their first language or who are more visual learners, like me. Overall, it takes a little time to get the most out of the Mission 2, but it’s well worth it and as simple as possible. Plan on spending twenty minutes getting to know it before breaking it out with a partner so that you feel comfortable with the ins and outs of its many functions. Lastly, cleaning the suction cup components well can be tricky since there are nooks and crannies galore.

Versatility

I am astonished by how much this seemingly simple vibrating dildo can do, so yes, the Lovense Mission 2 scores high for versatility. It worked well during shower sex, on a hardwood floor, and without the suction cup. It vibrates, so you don’t have to thrust if you don’t want to, and you could still have an orgasm. The 180-degree adjustability makes it easy to find the perfect angle, and you can cinch it into place so it doesn’t move (I demonstrate the suction cup functionality in the below image and YouTube video).

Mission 2 attached on my shower wall

Since you can use it hands-free, it pairs perfectly with a clitoral vibrator for double the sensation. You could use it with a harness that fits its girth if you would like to penetrate your partner. It is touch-sensitive, so you can customize the intensity of vibrations to align with the intensity of the penetration, and you can use the app to control your partner’s toy long-distance. The app also allows you to use it hands-free and create as many patterns as you can imagine.  Lastly, it works well as a clitoral vibrator for anyone who doesn’t enjoy internal play.

The Lovense Mission 2 also works well as a device for long-distance connection with your partner. For more on this, check out my review of the couples’ set.

Warranty and Support

Lovense offers a one-year warranty on the Mission 2, though their devices can last much longer if properly handled and stored.

Minor Issues I Found During Testing

While the battery life didn’t live up to expectations, I wasn’t bothered since I try not to masturbate for more than four hours on a regular basis. The suction cup components can be kind of a pain to clean, but it didn’t dampen the overall experience for me.

Alternatives to the Lovense Mission 2

Lovense Mission

Lovense Mission 2 is massively upgraded from the original. The original was app-compatible, so it was still ready for hands-free play. The redesign of the Mission 2 is more modern (and missing the silver reflective component), but the Touch-Sense technology is also upgraded. The original had a more primitive ability to intuit how deeply you are thrusting and ramp up the vibrations accordingly. The new version is also noticeably quieter and lacks the suction-cup base, perhaps the most significant upgrade, which limits its versatility.

The Mission 2 was downgraded in some ways, including the battery life, as the first edition could last up to eight hours. However, I don’t know many people who need a vibrator that lasts a third of the day, so this won’t pose an issue unless you’re into tantra. The original Lovense Mission can no longer be found on Lovense’s site, so you’d only be able to buy one from a third-party seller, which is never advisable when it comes to sex toys.

Vixen Creations Vixskin Maverick

If you want something hyper-realistic and larger, the Vixen Creations Vixskin Maverick might be the best purchase. It has a 7” insertable length and 2” girth, plus it comes in several different flesh tones that you can choose from. It doesn’t vibrate or have a motor, but the texture is extra realistic and feels close to real skin. The Vixskin Maverick doesn’t have an app, so it’s only meant for one thing: thrusting for G-spot stimulation. You can use it with a harness which isn’t included or the suction cup which is included for extra variety. A Maverick costs $149, making it the most expensive on the list (when the Mission 2 is on sale).

Dame Arc

Dame Arc is the ideal choice for someone who wants a dildo that doesn’t look like an erection at all. It’s less realistic than the Mission 2 and much less realistic than the Maverick. The Arc has a beaked tip for additional G-spot pressure, and its modern design is body-safe and waterproof. It’s lightly flexible and softer than the Mission 2, but it doesn’t have a suction cup, so you will have to thrust with your arms or ask your partner to do so for you. Another downside is that the Arc does not have an app, so you can’t use it hands-free or long-distance. You can grab a Dame Arc for $99, making it an affordable option as well.
