How To Use Vixskin Maverick?
- After you’ve washed your Maverick, grab some hardworking, great lube—any water-based lube will do the trick.
- If you haven’t used a lot of dildos before, you may even want to grab a couple of smaller toys to help you build up to this one, or you might end up feeling like you’re taking a test that you didn’t study for. If you’re a dildo virtuoso, you can dive right in.
- Next, apply lube to the toy. Since this Vixskin dildo is so realistic in texture, you may want to use even more lube than you usually do because it sometimes seems to absorb lube—so apply generously.

My Personal Experience
Ease Of Use
I have to admit that I immediately found this guy super intimidating. It’s so big that it gives the unmistakable impression that it has spent time at the gym. I felt like it was making eye contact with me. Okay, I know that’s a stretch. But it’s a serious dildo, and as someone who has not had a lot of experience with things of this size, I had a healthy respect for the task I was undertaking.
However, I realized that the soft, layered texture of the silicone does dampen the size factor, much to my relief. If this were a steel or glass dildo, the size might have been more uncomfortable. But the smooth surface of the outer layer masks the heft of the firm core, making it the perfect toy for people who love larger sizes.
Realism
Like the Mustang and the Johnny, the Vixen Maverick is startlingly realistic, and the texture of the silicone feels like human flesh. The incredible detailing, prominent foreskin ridge, defined head, and gently curved shaft make this look every bit like the real thing.
Versatility
I also appreciated that the flared suction cup base made this an excellent toy for anal play. However, this is not the type you’d want to start with for anal, and you need to graduate from smaller ones first until you work up to the Maverick.
I also loved that this has suction. You can stick toys like this to a smooth-finish bedroom wall (or any wall that wields suction well), the side of the bathtub or any hard, flat surface. But it takes a little effort, so if yours doesn’t stick at first, be a bit more forceful.
Stimulations
To my surprise, I had more trouble stimulating my G-spot with this dildo than with the Vixskin Mustang, my last sex toy review that you can read here (if you like bad jokes). The head of the Maverick is much softer, so it can be hard to generate enough friction in precisely the right spot.
The squishy outer layer means that, for me, the sensation was slightly deadened—though no less filling and still highly pleasurable.

However, Mustang’s head is a bit firmer, making G-spot stimulation easier if you prefer the sensation of pressure against a particular spot to the feeling of overall fullness.
The Maverick and the Mustang are the same price, use the same silicone, and are suction-based dildos, so the deciding factor will be the size you prefer.
Vixskin Johnny
The Johnny is smaller than the Maverick and has testicles, which means it is slightly more complicated to grip for extended periods. It doesn’t come with a suction cup, and it costs $150, a bit more than the Maverick silicone dildo.

Yes, Vixen Creations makes a dildo even bigger than the Maverick, and it’s called the Outlaw. It has nine inches of insertable length, and the girth at the widest part is 6.25 inches (roughly two inches in diameter.)
However, this one has testicles, which I found uncomfortable to hold for very long. Lastly, it doesn’t have a suction cup base, and it costs $160, more than the Maverick.
