The Purrl is a dual-ended vibrator from JimmyJane that promises to leave you breathless. Was this feline-themed toy the versatile wonder I’d hoped, or was it about as much fun as a trip to the vet? Read my review of the Purrl to find out.
Easily my favorite of JimmyJane’s OMGGG! lineup, Purrl is everything you could want in a dual-ended vibrator. It’s versatile, it’s powerful, and it will indeed leave you breathless. The internal dildo was extremely comfortable to use and shaped just right if you want to target your G-spot, but the external vibe was where it really shone. Because of the design, there was a myriad of textures and sensations to play around with. Combine that with a handy burst mode for when you really want to get going, and Purrl was an all-around winner.
Who Should Try It? While the internal vibes on Purrl were great, I would mostly recommend this toy for someone who loves external vibes. Between the bow on top of the cat’s head and the raised stripes down the rounded head, there’s a texture and a sensation for anyone to enjoy. The external vibes were also more powerful.
Who Can Skip It? If you’re into internal toys with a lot of girth and power, this isn’t the one for you. The internal width is quite slim and has less power than the external vibe. Also, the overly cutesy cat aesthetic just might not be for everyone.
You Can Buy It on the official JimmyJane website for $44.99.
What Is the OMGGG! Purrl?
The Purrl is a dual-ended vibrator with an external stimulator on one end and a G-spot vibe on the other. It has dual motors, so the vibes can be controlled separately, and each end has eight vibration modes (three speeds, five patterns). Both ends also have a Burst Mode feature, meaning you can immediately bring the toy to its most intense setting with the press (well, a double-press) of a button. Between its adorable design, its versatility, and its ease of use, this toy is sure to win Best in Show.
First Impressions and Features
Unboxing
As always the OMGGG! line came through with the adorable packaging. It comes with a reusable bag, which I always appreciate, as well as a charging cable, some stickers, and a piece of paper with instructions on how to contact customer service, whether you want to leave a positive review or have some questions/concerns.
I usually have a lot of fun pointing out the absurdity of the language JimmyJane uses on the packaging of these toys, but either I’m just used to it by now, or the Purrl’s packaging is just a bit more restrained. Though there are a weird number of biting/scratching metaphors. For a cat-themed toy, I think a simple “sweet yet naughty” metaphor would have been a lot more appealing. Plus, biting and scratching aren’t words I associate with a soft silicone vibrator. At least they didn’t talk about how this one was going to lick me back.

How Do I Use the OMGGG! Purrl
First, charge up your Purrl with the included charging cable. Charging time should take about 120 minutes for 60 minutes of playtime. A light will blink as the toy is charging and will glow steadily when you’re ready to play.
- To turn on the external vibes, hold the top button (closest to the cat’s head) for 2 seconds.
- Continue pressing the top button to cycle through the external vibration modes.
- Double-press the top button to activate “Burst Mode” and immediately go to the most intense external vibration mode without having to cycle through all the options.
- Long hold the top button to turn off the external vibration mode.
- To turn on the internal vibes, slide in the G-spot stimulator with the help of a bit of water-based lube.
- Hold the bottom button (closest to the cat’s tail) for 2 seconds.
- Continue pressing the bottom button to cycle through the external vibration modes.
- As with the external vibes, double-press the bottom button to activate “Burst Mode” without having to cycle through all the patterns.
- Long hold the bottom button to turn off the internal vibration mode.
My Personal Experience
Design
The design of Purrl is really adorable. Although I am a little confused by the lack of cohesion in the OMGGG! lineup, since most of them are food–related, but then there’s a unicorn and a cat. And maybe a rabbit, though I assumed the BunBun was meant to look like an ice cream sandwich.
Anyhow, aside from being adorable, the Purrl’s design is really fun to use. The dildo end was slim and shaped in such a way that it slid in super easily, which I appreciated. It’s also curved, which makes it easier to stimulate the G-spot.
To me, though, the external cat head was where it really shone. The ridges on the rounded part feel wonderful, even better than on the GumiGrrl, which was a little too small to really grind up against, as far as I was concerned. Then, the bow on top makes for some great pinpoint precision. For a sex toy that’s already dual-ended, the design gives you even more ways to play.
Material
Purrl is made of silicone. The silicone feels soft and smooth without being flexible or squishy.
Stimulations
Both the internal and external vibes have eight vibration modes, five of which are patterns. The external part of the vibe had much more powerful vibrations. Combined with the versatility of the external vibe, I would definitely recommend Purrl to those of you who are more clit-focused than G-spot focused. Both ends also have a Burst Mode function, which automatically makes the toy go into the most powerful setting.
Sound Level
Purrl was a little loud. Nothing earth-shattering, but between the size and the volume (and the color scheme), it’s not the most discreet toy.
Build Quality and Dimensions
With a length of 8.27 in., the Purrl is definitely not the runt of the litter (especially compared to the other, much smaller OMGGG! toys), but for a dual-ended vibrator, it’s on the small side.
The one quality issue I found was the way the colorful stripes didn’t quite match up on their side of the toy. There wasn’t a seam I could feel that joined the two sides together, but I can see being a little bugged by that detail.
Ease of Use
Purrl is very easy to figure out, since it only has two buttons that cycle through the functions. The buttons are easy to press, which is always a plus. The internal component slid in easily, and because of the shape of the external vibrator, it was very easy to play around and find the most satisfying way to use it.
Versatility
Purrl is extremely versatile. Aside from the obvious fact that it can be used both internally and externally, the external vibrator has different textures and shapes (rounded head, pointy bow) to play around with. It’s also waterproof.
Warranty and Support
The Purrl comes with a one-year warranty.
Minor Issues I Found During Testing
I didn’t have any issues with the Purrl.
Review Summary
Pros
- Dual motors
- Extremely versatile vibrator
- Burst mode to get to the strongest vibration
Cons
- Colors don’t quite match up on either side of the toy
- Not super quiet
Alternatives to the OMGGG! Purrl
SwirliCorn
If you’re feeling extra spicy and want the adorableness of the Purrl, but want internal and external vibes at the same time, then check out another toy from the OMGGG! lineup, the SwirliCorn. It’s shaped like a C, so that the unicorn’s head can rest on your clit while the tail/dildo is inserted. It also had a really cool internal vibe; it definitely lived up to its name, since the dildo did swirl around instead of just vibrating. If traditional internal vibrators feel too buzzy and uncomfortable, the SwirliCorn might just be the thing to make your magical dreams come true.
Kitty Magic Wand
The Kitty Magic Wand by Pikavibe is very similar to the Purrl, in that it’s a cat-themed double-ended vibrator. It has a similar shape, with the dildo on one end and the external vibrator on the other. However, the Kitty’s external vibe is in the shape of a cat’s paw, not a cat’s head, and it has a straight dildo instead of a curved one like Purrl’s. The biggest difference is that the external vibe uses a tapping stimulation instead of being a traditional vibrator. While I did prefer the Purrl overall, especially the variety of sensation the external vibe provided, the tapping sensation of the Magic Wand was a lot of fun to play around with.
I am Sold! Where Can I Buy It?
