How does it compare to the rest? Let’s dive in.
My partner has enjoyed other products from The Handy and was excited to try their straightforward travel stroker. He immediately fell in love with the texture, which isn’t a common occurrence for him. The softness just added to it. When trying a toy for the first time, sometimes it’s disappointing or takes a while to get accustomed to the sensation. Often, my partner and I keep backup toys at arm’s length in case we aren’t feeling the new ones right away. My partner’s go-to backup is an incredibly fancy machine, and he never touched it after unboxing the Quickie. That says a lot. This does the trick beautifully, and the simplicity is captivating.
My partner commented that this works particularly well for average-sized erections. He has an average-sized erection, so it was perfect for him. It was better than his hand and easy enough to use that he didn’t want to use his hand instead. It’s straightforward in an addictive way, but the size constraints mean this won’t work well for anyone with notably above (or under) average-sized erections.
I asked my partner what he would spend on it. He said $50, but he could see it being over $100. This is a bona fide steal.
Their website has an instructional video mentioning that this device is made for penis-owners, an inclusive way to refer to their customer base. That gets two thumbs up from me! Overall, this was an exquisite experience.
Who Should Try It? This is perfect for a first-time stroker buyer, especially if you have an average-sized penis. It’s dead simple and doesn’t require much thought or decision-making. It’s perfect for anyone who is seeking a hand job with extra spice.
Who Can Skip It? This may not be the best choice if you have nosy housemates due to the squelching noises, an uber-girthy erection, or the need to customize the size.
You Can Buy It on the official The Handy website for $40.
What Is The Quickie?
Tired of using your hand? The Quickie means you don’t have to. More interesting texture plus a tight squeeze can help change your everyday routine. It’s not motorized and is simple to clean and store. The twist-off double caps make it perfect for discreet travel. It doesn’t have an app, but it’s perfect for nights when you’re too tired for something more drawn out. The best part is that, with a battery, it doesn’t have to be a quickie. It will always last as long as you do.
First Impressions and Features
Unboxing
The Quickie comes in a thin cardboard box and arrives discreetly at your doorstep. It’s not sturdy enough for long-term storage, but that doesn’t matter since the double caps keep it clean and protected after use. Inside the box are the sleeve, case, and double caps. All you need to pick up in advance is water-based lube.
I loved the box because it emphasizes the importance of using lube, a crucial component of pleasure that is often overlooked. They also include both imperial and metric measurements, so you don’t have to do any math. Props to their marketing department! Every component was inclusive and thorough.
A quick(ie) note: As you can see in the image above, the box label reads The Quicky. The website calls it The Quickie. If you’re confused, don’t be. They refer to the same masturbator; it’s just a spelling discrepancy.

My Personal Experience
Design
The design is straightforward. It’s slightly tricky getting the sleeve into the shell. Once you push it in, it sticks a little thanks to the tacky TPE, so you have to reach through the other side to pull it the rest of the way. Once you get used to it, it’s a cinch.
Further, The Quickie’s design is not realistic, so it’s great for people of all sexualities, but it won’t appeal to those who need their masturbator to enhance their fantasies visually. The cap is well-made and secure, so you can rest easy that it won’t come apart during travel.
Material
My partner loved the material. The sleeve is made of ultra- soft TPE, and it is one of the few stroker sleeves where he loved the texture. Most of the time, he doesn’t notice the texture much. The hardshell case felt durable, and he loved that it twists to close. The cap doesn’t fall off if you bump it, which is nice.
TPE won’t last forever, but it will last for several uses, longer if you maintain it well. Wash it right after each use to maximize its lifespan, and toss it if you notice wear and tear.
Stimulations
My partner liked the stimulations. The Quickie Travel is one of his favorite non-motorized strokers, thanks to the texture and softness. The stroking sensations aren’t life-changing, but they are a notable upgrade from a regular jerk-off sesh.
Sound Level
I usually don’t write about the sound level for non-motorized devices, but this is an exception. It makes a loud squishing sound. It’s one of the louder non-motorized strokers we have. With lube, it makes a squelching sound that doesn’t happen when you use your hand. It didn’t bother us, but it’s worth noting, especially for folks with inquisitive roommates and thin walls.
Build Quality and Dimensions
The build quality is surprisingly durable and seamless considering the price. It is simple and discreet but feels much more luxe than the price suggests.
The dimensions are slightly tight for my partner but in a satisfying way. The website says it’s pocket-sized, but it certainly doesn’t fit in my pocket. It is small and lightweight enough for travel.
Ease of Use
The Quickie is stunningly easy to use, making it perfect for a first-time stroker. Washing and storage are simple, and masturbating with it is foolproof. Its ease of use is one of this stroker’s biggest draws.
Versatility
Versatility is hard, if not impossible, to find for under $50. This is not the most versatile. For one, the hard shell means it will only fit a certain erection width. It has no app or motor, and the only additional sensation is stroking with texture and grip. The simplicity is the allure, though, and added versatility would detract from that.
Warranty and Support
The Handy offers a one-year warranty on The Quickie. They also accept returns of unopened items within two weeks of purchase for a fee.
Minor Issues I Found During Testing
The hard shell makes this impossible to use for girthier penises, and it’s slightly louder than some. Overall, it’s a great value, and nothing is out of line with the price.
Review Summary
When my partner wants a no-nonsense experience, this is what he reaches for. If you’ve never bought a stroker before and you want a quality first-time experience, The Quickie is an excellent purchase. It’s not the cheapest, but it offers a durable, discreet experience that is worth the extra cost. The soft texture of the material also sets it apart from other sleeves that cost twice as much. When you don’t want the pomp and circumstance or price of a more complex stroker, this is one of the best options.
Pros
- Easy to use
- Affordable, great value for what it offers
- Body-safe
- Travel-friendly
Cons
- A little loud
- Too tight for extra-girthy erections
Alternatives to The Quickie
Arcwave Voy
The Arcwave Voy is another non-motorized stroker, but it costs nearly $100. The Voy is made of silicone, so it may last longer, and it looks a bit sleeker. Yet, overall, my partner prefers The Quickie because it’s longer. You can stroke it for a longer distance without the head of your penis missing out on the sensations.
However, the Arcwave Voy would work better for people with larger girths of erections or anyone exceptionally small because it’s adjustable.
