Unboxing

The confusing wording on Hello Cake packaging never fails to amuse me, and this box was no exception. We’re told this is a “fluttering & vibrating toy for her”, but on another side of the box, it says, “Ripple with pleasure as soon as you turn her on.” So…who’s “her”? Also, what does “Somewhere between tickling and fluttering packs a punch of pleasure” mean? A) I feel like there’s a missing word, because I genuinely don’t understand what exactly they’re saying. B) This sex toy is so powerful that even at its gentlest levels, it could not reasonably be described as a “tickle”.

Inside the box I found a user guide and the aforementioned color-coded charging cable. As with the other Hello Cake toys, I really wish they’d swapped the plastic packaging for a reusable bag. For a set of toys so perfect for travel, it would make a lot more sense to have a way to carry them around.

How Do I Use The Flutter Vibe?

First, charge up the Flutter Vibe with the included (and adorably color-coded) magnetic charging cable

My Personal Experience

Design

The Flutter Vibe is the only product in the Hello Cake lineup that isn’t a pocket version of another toy. At around 4 inches, it’s quite a bit bigger than the 2.5-inch Aria Flutter Tongue, for example, and just a bit smaller than the 5-inch Red Hot Ember. Its more normal size meant that I was a lot less lenient when I reviewed it, since sacrifices always have to be made in order for a toy to be shrunk down and be considered travel sized. But you know what? I was still impressed!

The two tapering tips (I am on fire with the alliteration in this review) are perfectly positioned to caress your clit, the handle is easy to hold, and the button is easy to press without having to move the toy around. Some vibrations travel to your hand while using it, but they’re pretty mild, and that’s unavoidable for a vibrating toy this powerful and this small.

The Flutter Vibe is made from soft, smooth silicone. While the handle of the toy is very solid and easy to hold, the fluttering “tongues” are appropriately flexible.

Stimulations

This power is where it really shines. It has ten stimulations in all, five of which are increases in intensity, and five of which are patterns. Even at the lowest levels, it’s very strong, so that is definitely something to keep in mind. Since it offers such pinpointed precision, there’s really no way around how intense it is, so whether your clit can handle it is up to you.

While the stimulation is described as “tongue-like” on the website, I wouldn’t exactly say that. I would strongly encourage someone to seek medical assistance if their tongue had two tips and vibrated. Granted, if you do like oral stimulation, you will probably enjoy the Flutter Vibe a lot, it just won’t feel exactly the same. Some tongue vibrators are designed to look and feel more like actual tongues, with a wider, flatter surface that moves up and down, but the Flutter Vibe is not one of them.

Sound Level

For how powerful it is, the Flutter Vibe was pretty quiet. With its size and volume, it would be a good travel toy, or a discreet toy in general (if only it came with a reusable bag).

Build Quality and Dimensions

While the other toys I’ve looked at in the Hello Cake lineup were pocket versions of larger toys, the Flutter Vibe is a pretty standard size for a tongue vibe. With a length of 4.2 inches and a width of 2.16 inches, it’s still small, but not as adorably tiny as the other toys in this line. That said, I was really impressed by its quality. The silicone feels great, the button is easy to press, and the power is intense!

Ease of Use

The Flutter Vibe is easy to use in every way. The button is intuitive, and it’s designed in such a way that the handle is easy to hold and you can press said button while keeping it against your clit. Positioning it is also very simple, so even if you’re used to traditional vibrators with large, rounded heads, it won’t take too much maneuvering to get the Flutter Vibe just where you want it to be.

The Flutter Vibe is not particularly versatile. It is definitely designed to be used against your clit, and its design suits that purpose very well.

Though it is smaller, the tongue itself is wider and flatter and moves up and down instead of vibrating. It’s still quite powerful, however. If you’re not a fan of typical vibrations, or are looking to branch out, then Aria Flutter Tongue is a great toy to try. It also comes with a reusable bag.
