What Is The ROMP Cello Rechargeable Vibrating Egg?
The ROMP Cello Rechargeable Vibrating Egg is a silicone, waterproof vibrating egg with 6 intensities and 4 pulsing patterns, so if you’re like me and are very particular about your pleasure, you can find the exact setting that will give you a screaming crescendo. The sex toy is remote-controlled, so you can either have a hands-free solo performance or let your partner be the maestro for the evening.
I took choir throughout high school, so my experience with actual cellos is limited. Though I have the feeling this cello is preferable!
First Impressions and Features
Unboxing
The packaging for the Cello is not exactly luxe, but it gets the job done. As you can see in the image below, it comes in a cardboard box, and the components are held in place with plastic packaging. It comes with a basic start guide and safety instructions. It also comes with a pack of raunchy stickers, which is a fun touch, but I can’t help but wonder how many people are actually going to use them. It seems a little wasteful, but maybe I’m in the minority.
The box includes:
- ROMP Cello vibrator
- USB charging cable (AC Adapter not included)
- Quick start guide
- Safety instructions
- Remote
- 1x 23A battery
- Sticker pack

How Do I Use The ROMP Cello Rechargeable Vibrating Egg?
Unbox the egg and charge it up; it’s as simple as that! According to the website, a charge of two hours will give you an hour of play. This ratio of charging time to play time isn’t going to be ideal for everyone, but my personal cello practice lasted only a couple of minutes, so I had no problem with it. Luckily, it already comes with a bit of a charge, so once you clean it off, you’ll be ready to play right away.
The egg turns on via a button on the tail. Please note that it cannot be turned on via remote, so if you’re intending to use it in a public place, be sure to turn it on beforehand, or else the cello’s performance will be a flop. Simply hold down the button for two seconds, and you’ll be ready to go. The remote works by simply pressing the one and only button until you find the right speed or pattern to get you going.
Use enough water-based lube to get the egg resting against your g-spot, but not so much lube that it will slip out. It is a relatively small toy, so that might be a danger, especially if you plan on using it in public. And do make sure to use a water-based lube, since the toy itself is silicone. The smooth silicone makes it extra easy to slide in, and the tail makes it a breeze to remove once you’re ready for your curtain call.

My Personal Experience
Part of the pleasure of remote control eggs is that they can be an easy way to take play out of the bedroom and out into the world (though please keep in mind that the general public has not consented to be part of your sex life, so just don’t be weird about it). The egg is quiet enough to be used in most public spaces, such as restaurants and public transportation, but not so quiet that you could make your sexy librarian fantasies come to life. No one wants their library card revoked for playing with their cello in the reading room!
I can’t reach peak pleasure from the g-spot alone, so I used my cello in concert with a clit-focused toy, and the double sensation was just what I needed to get to a satisfying climax. And since the egg is hands-free (whether you’re using the remote yourself, or letting your partner do it), it can be easily paired with another product (or two, if you’re feeling extra spicy).
However, the fact that the device is controlled with a remote control instead of an app will be a dealbreaker for long-distance couples looking for ways to be intimate across continents. The remote also makes it more difficult for the cello to be used discreetly in public.
Design
Both the egg and the remote are a lovely aqua color. For a moment, I thought the remote was the egg itself, since it is an oval shape. The Cello has more of an hourglass shape and is wider at the bottom, making insertion very easy. The tail is longer than the body, so there’s no chance of getting it stuck in there!
Material
The body-safe (I would certainly hope so!) silicone makes this toy smooth as can be.
The Cello itself is waterproof, but the remote is not; please keep that in mind when you’re cleaning them off. The Cello should be cleaned with soap and a thorough rinse after every use, but the remote should only be wiped down with a damp cloth, if necessary.
Stimulations
With 6 intensities and 4 pulsing patterns, it’s easy to find the perfect note to hit. I know some people find the option to change pulsing patterns extraneous, but personally, I need the sensation to be just right. Having 4 options to choose from is my ideal, since it allows me to settle on a favorite and get to it quickly.
A quick note: sources differ on whether there are 5 or 6 intensities. From firsthand experience, I can tell you there are 6.
The intensities increase slowly, and while there is a noticeable difference between level 1 and level 6, it’s easy to find which speed works best for you.
Sound Level
The egg definitely made some noise, but wasn’t too loud to take to a busy public setting, or to use alone in a room without disturbing any roommates.
Ease of Use
ROMP Cello could not be easier to use. Both the egg (image above) and the remote have only one button, so it’s virtually foolproof. I used it for solo play, and was able to use the remote even while I was being distracted by the sensations.
Versatility
While this little egg was designed with g-spot stimulation in mind, it’s small enough to be used anywhere you enjoy a vibrating sensation. I used it on my clit to warm myself up before inserting it, and I’m sure it would feel great anywhere, since it’s not so intense that it would hurt any sensitive areas.

Minor Issues I Found During Testing
While it was incredibly easy to use, I didn’t love the remote itself. On one hand, there are definitely benefits to only having one button to press. On the other hand, you have to press the button to go through all 6 intensities, then all 4 pulsing patterns. So, if you find that the fourth pulsing pattern is what gets you going, you have to click the button ten times to reach your preferred setting. If you’re a beginner (or just plain sensitive), you may not want to experience the maximum intensity vibration level in order to explore the pulsing patterns. This also means that the pulsing patterns have fixed intensities. Personally, I would have preferred to have two buttons, one to select a pulsing pattern and one to select an intensity level. I’m very picky when it comes to my pleasure, though, so this might not be a problem for you.
