What Is a Homemade Pussy Pump?

Are DIY Clit Pumps Safe?

A pussy pump or clit pump that has not been engineered with safety in mind and thoroughly tested is not safe. Most household or hardware store items are not designed for use as sex toys and should not be used as sex toys. Genital tissue is thin and delicate, and it can easily be damaged by strong suction; plus, homemade devices rarely have a quick-release valve or other safety features.

1. Syringe Method

This is one of the least unsafe methods because the device will have been professionally assembled, usually from high-quality sterile components.

Materials:

20ml-60ml (or larger) syringe
Scissors or knife
Nail file or fine-grit sandpaper

Step-by-Step Guide

Remove the needle from the syringe (this is the most important step!).
Use the scissors or knife to cut off the tip of the syringe.
Sand or file the new, wider opening so that it is perfectly smooth.
Position the syringe over your clitoris and gently draw back the plunger to create a vacuum.
Hold the syringe in place for a minute or two and then gently release the suction.

2. Plastic Bottle Method

This is probably the least expensive method because most of us have access to plenty of plastic bottles. Choose one where the mouth will fit over your clitoris. We recommend using a food-grade bottle, and be sure to clean it thoroughly.

Materials:

Small (250ml or less) plastic bottle

Step-by-Step Guide

Gently squeeze the bottle to expel some of the air.
Position the mouth of the bottle over your clitoris.
Slowly release the pressure to create a vacuum.
Hold the bottle in place for a minute or two and then release the pressure.

3. Douche Method

This is another reasonable idea because you’ll be repurposing a product that was (presumably) produced for use in a healthcare environment. Douching is generally not recommended for healthy vaginas, but douches are still available. If you want stronger suction, you can add a little water to the bag.

Step-by-Step Guide

Remove the hose/nozzle and clean the douche bag thoroughly.
Put a small amount of lube around the opening.
Squeeze the bag to remove some of the air.
Position the opening around your clitoris.

What Not to Do

Unfortunately, the list of things that you shouldn’t do when creating homemade pussy pumps or other sex toys is much longer than the list of things that are okay to do. Some of the highlights (lowlights?) that we’ve come across and want to warn you about include:

Unclean Materials: Especially if you are repurposing items that you have found around your house, you need to make sure they have been thoroughly cleaned. The vaginal walls are lined with mucous membrane that is actually very similar to cheek tissue, so if you wouldn’t put something in your mouth, don’t put it in/on/near your vagina.
Mechanical Suction: Household appliances like vacuum cleaners are much too strong to use on your vulva or clitoris. You risk serious, permanent damage. You’re also likely looking at an expensive and potentially embarrassing trip to the hospital emergency room.
Glass or Other Sharp Materials: It should go without saying that you don’t want sharp or jagged edges anywhere near your vulva, so don’t tempt fate by using glass to create a sex toy. Why Is It Better to Buy a Commercial Product?
