What is a Lovense Firmware Update?
The software running on the hardware (i.e. the Lovense toy itself) is called firmware, and it executes all features, like responding to phone commands and managing the motor and Bluetooth connection. All popular Lovense products like Hush 2, Lush 3, Max 2, and Edge 2 will benefit from an upgrade, so make sure you’re running the latest version at all times.

1. Install The Applications
You will need to install two applications on your phone: the Remote App and the Connect App. Here’s what you need to know about each one:
Lovense Remote App
The Remote App is the primary application for controlling your playthings. It’s available for any of the latest iOS and Android devices. Once you have downloaded and installed the application on your phone, you can connect it to your toys via Bluetooth.

When you have the application, it will represent the status of your adult devices, including their battery life and whether they are connected. The devices can be controlled directly from the application, using a variety of different settings and modes.
- Turn on your Lovense toy and make sure it’s in pairing mode.
- Open the application and click the “Add Toy” icon on the screen of your phone.
- Select your model from the list of available devices.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the pairing process.

Once your toy is paired with the application, you can start using it right away. You can choose from a variety of different vibration patterns and intensities, or create your own custom settings.
Lovense Connect App
This is a separate application (image below) that you can use with your computer or laptop. It is available for both Windows and Mac computers. To use the application, you will need to first turn on and pair your toys with the application using the same process as with the Remote Application. Once yours are paired, you can then connect them to other devices via Bluetooth.
One of the benefits is it allows you to control your toys directly from your PC or laptop. You can use the application to create custom vibration patterns, adjust the intensity of the vibrations, and more.
To get started with the Connect App, follow these steps:
- Download and install the app on your computer.
- Pair your devices with the application using the same process as with the Lovense Remote App.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your gadgets to your computer.

If you face any problems while connecting, you can restart your Bluetooth and your devices and try to reconnect again.
2. Preparing for the Firmware Update
Before you begin, it is important to prepare your devices to ensure a smooth and successful installation of the updates. Here are some steps to follow:
Fully Charge the Toy and Phone: Ensure that your toy and smartphone have their batteries completely charged before you begin, as this will help avoid any disruptions caused by low battery levels. Throughout the procedure, you might encounter a notification suggesting that you charge your phone to a minimum of 50%. This warning is to guarantee that your phone maintains sufficient power to finish the upgrade smoothly, without any interruptions.

Use Flight Mode to Avoid Disturbance and Just Enable Bluetooth: To avoid any possible disturbances while updating, I recommend that you use flight mode and enable your Bluetooth. This will disable all wireless connections except for Bluetooth.
Don’t Open Other Applications On Your Phone: To ensure that the firmware update process goes smoothly, we recommend that you only have the Lovense application open on your phone. This will prevent any other apps from interfering with the upgrade process.
3. Start The Update
First, make sure that your Lovense toy is completely charged and turned on before you start. Then, open the app on your phone and connect to your toy. Once you are connected, press the “Settings” section of the application, and find the cloud that has an arrow icon. It will show a prompt on your screen that you are about to do a firmware update. Once everything is set, click the “Upgrade” icon.
After you click the button, it should start the process immediately. During the process, please have your phone turned on and the gadget close to your phone. We also recommend keeping other Bluetooth-enabled devices at a distance during the upgrade as this helps prevent any interference or connection issues during the update process.
As the update progresses, you will see a progress bar indicating the percentage of the update that has been completed. The update may take several minutes to complete, depending on the size of the update and the speed of your internet connection.
Once the update is complete, the toy will reboot. Do not touch anything during this process, as it’s essential to let it complete the reboot on its own. After the update is complete, you’ll notice the cloud-and-arrow icon is gone.
