It’s officially spooky season, and I don’t know about you, but I am definitely feeling more excited about autumnal delights than usual. Something about the combination of spooky and cozy is hitting just the right part of my brain.
So as I enjoy a pumpkin-flavored drink and a pumpkin-scented candle while listening to some lo-fi (no AI) Halloween playlists, let me tell you everything that went on in the sex toy world this September.
Hello, US Open
Hello Nancy, a new favorite of mine, thanks to their adorably fruity products, released a new collection in honor of the US Open (not an official collaboration, but maybe one day). With a suction toy shaped like a tennis ball and a wand shaped like…a tennis ball (but, you know, on a stick), this collection is delightfully on-theme. Whether you’re playing doubles or singles, these are perfect for anyone who appreciates the sport of kings (yes, it can refer to tennis, not just horse racing).
The way they launched the products was also noteworthy. Along with a brunch event at which the products were unveiled, people handed out the suction tennis balls at the Open itself. So no matter which player got more points, those lucky spectators were the real winners.
New Product Releases
We-Vibe is a brand we know and love here on My Sex Toy Guide, so it’s always a treat when they launch a new product! Their latest, the Shared Touch, has a double-sided design and is a penis stroker and clitoral vibrator in one. It’s app-controlled, so there are plenty of ways for you and your partner to indulge in using it.
I love the idea of sex toys bringing partners closer together, and the We-Vibe Shared Touch is no exception. Aside from anything else, the shape is just really cool-looking. Maybe I’ve been reviewing one too many cute toys, but something about the sleek design makes it look very appealing.
Speaking of double duty, Lelo (another favorite brand of ours) just launched their F2S Double Sonic massager and stroker. Named after the dual motors that power two sonic stimulators at either end of the toy, the F2S has a variety of new features, from a Humanize Mode (using tiny imperfections in the rhythms and pulsations to make the stroker feel more lifelike) to a stamina trainer, complete with guided Kegel exercises. If you want to take your stroker game to the next level, the Lelo Double Sonic is one to check out! It’s also connected to their app, so you can truly customize your experience and create the perfect self-care routine to best suit your unique needs.
Kiiroo, a company known for its use of cutting-edge technology, has recently teamed up with Tyler Wisby to create a stroker based on her specific anatomy. Kiiroo tries to make their toys as realistic as possible, and this one is no exception. Tyler Wisby said herself, “This really is the exact copy of me. I can’t wait for my fans to finally feel how soft I am.” And I’m sure her fans can’t wait either! Whether you yourself are a big fan of Tyler’s, or whether you just want a realistic-feeling stroker, this is worth checking out.
Although I just have to point out one thing. The article was ostensibly written by a Maxime Kamstra. Now maybe Ms. Kamstra just really happens to like using em dashes and incomplete sentences (The kind that are short. Vague. And always come in threes), or the article was written by AI. In an article all about the craftsmanship of the product and how people relate to Wisby’s unique personality, it’s ironic, to say the least. Or, should I say: It’s not just ironic. It’s painful to read. It also lessens my faith in a company. If Kiiroo can’t afford a real writer (apologies to Ms. Kamstra, if she does indeed exist), what does that say about their R&D department?
’Tis the Season to Be Horny
The holiday season is…well, “almost here” is a stretch, but regardless of the actual calendar, stores have started selling their advent calendars. Now, I love advent calendars to the point where I just had to delete about a hundred words rambling about some of my favorites. But this is My Sex Toy Guide, so there’s only one type of advent calendar we’re talking about today.
The main benefit of advent calendars is the price. For example, the Lovehoney couples’ advent calendar is $220, but it’s valued at over $600. Womanizer has its own advent calendars, the most expensive of which (their Luxury advent calendar, at $369) costs a whopping $545 less than buying each item individually.
But there’s the question we all must ask ourselves. Would you buy each of these items individually? Is it worth buying the whole calendar, or is it a better and cheaper option to just buy the one or two toys you really want? It’s not like a calendar full of one-time use tea bags, bottles of fountain pen ink, or bath and body products—sex toys aren’t exactly disposable.
Though even as I type that, I feel like a bit of a Scrooge. The calendars are lovely, and there’s nothing like a little treat for yourself (or a partner—a lot of planners are focused around partners. Cis-het partners, specifically). So, if there’s a calendar you fall in love with, and you want at least half the things in there, then I say go ahead!
New Company Alert
I always love it when new companies are launched, and Wild Brands seems worth keeping an eye on. With a focus on sexual enhancement products, like gummies and honey, CEO and founder Briana Watkins describes her vision for the brand as being “upscale yet approachable”. I think a lot of people will be drawn to products that don’t seem intimidating while also not seeming cheap, so that seems like a great strategy! Best of luck to everyone at Wild Brands.
Happy vibing.
