Do Women Like Anal Sex? A Sex Educator Reveal The Secret

Featured imageWithout a doubt, more than a few women people enjoy anal sex. But like other sex play, whether it is fellatio, cunnilingus, or vaginal sex, there will always be people who do not like various sexual activities.

So the next question is, how many women enjoy anal sex? To help answer this and other questions, we will explore why do women like anal sex and the number of women who enjoy it.

Why You Should Trust Us

M.ChristianAll of us at My Sex Toy Guide pride ourselves on knowing as much as possible about human sexuality. With each of us has our own particular specialties, depending on the person, ranging from oral sex techniques to the intricacies of BDSM.

Sometimes our knowledge is based on personal experiences. Other times it is from years of education. Then there are our writers who teach or are continuing their sexual education.

We are also not above asking for assistance should the need arise. This is where M.Christian comes in to lend a hand in writing about women and anal sex.

They are an accomplished erotica writer, sex tech journalist, and sexual educator, making them exceptionally well-versed when it comes to sex.

Not least of which is what turns people on and why. Like the subject of this article, we are beginning with a look at exactly how the percentage of women who are turned on by anal sex play.

Do women like anal sex?

Yes, a large number of women find anal sex pleasurable.

A team of Berkeley, California researchers surveyed three thousand women. And they learned a lot about the sorts of anal sex they enjoyed. In addition, they discovered what percentage of them do or do not like these activities.

  1. The first they called “anal shallowing,” i.e., anal fingering. The team found thirty-five percent of women surveyed experience sexual pleasure from it.
  2. Next is “anal surfacing.” This is a sex play that forty percent reported really enjoying. And it involves touching but not entering the anus.
  3. Anal pairing” is the third and final, referring to stimulating the anus and vagina at the same time. Another forty percent of women reported being sexually aroused by this.

But a different survey uncovered something interesting about women’s orgasms. From 2009 to 2018, a group of Indiana University researchers polled 20,000 men and women about sex.

They were trying to determine which sexual activity had the highest percentage of orgasms. Surprisingly, the result was that anal intercourse was the overall best. As in mind-boggling, ninety-seven percent reported anal orgasms!

So there are many reasons why a woman would find anal sex pleasurable. These surveys also show the various ways anal sex feels to them.

So like every other sexual activity, anal sex involves a broad spectrum of activities. The same is equally true for how many are aroused by it.

Why some women do not like anal sex?

There are many reasons a vagina owner may not engage in receptive anal sex.

A major one is feeling disgusted by it. But we are not referring to its sexual aspect. Instead, that human waste and anal play are inexorably intertwined. Whatever you do, poo is likely to make its stinky presence known during anal sex even if the receiving partner spends a lot of time cleaning themselves up.

It’s due to how really active our gastrointestinal tracts are. So even flushing with an enema might only eliminate some of it.

With this in mind, it is understandable why some vulva owners do not like anal sex. Another negative aspect is the inescapable presence of fecal matter, especially as exposure to fecal bacteria can sometimes result in illness.

It does not take a medical degree to understand the anus exists to expel waste. But not to easily take sex toys or penises into them.

For the record, we are not saying anal sex is somehow unnatural or wrong.

Far from it! We are saying that inserting anything into an anus can often be an uphill battle. Doubly so if there is too much friction which can be painful.

One which women’s experiences can attest to can be anything from uncomfortable to downright painful, especially for those new to this sort of sexual experience. It is one more reason anal stimulation may not appeal to other women.

However, not liking something does not necessarily mean women are actively turned off by it. For example, say anal penetration is your all-time favorite way to orgasm. So much so that you prefer it over everything else in your sex life.

So other sex acts may not actually be a turn-off, only that they do not make you orgasm as much as anal sex does.

Perhaps a woman has a distinct for clitoral stimulation? The same might be true when women prefer vaginal sex or different sexual behaviors to orgasm. They might enjoy getting off butt plugs instead of their receiving partner’s penis.

The point is some women enjoy anal sex while others do not. Neither is right or wrong but demonstrates how wide-ranging human sexuality can be.

So have fun! As long as whatever excites you or anybody is consensual. Not to mention if it does not harm you or anyone else.

What do women like about anal sex?

There are many reasons why women people get aroused by receiving anal sex. So many, it is impossible to try and list them all here.

Though we at My Sex Toy Guide are always willing to give it our best effort, starting by returning to basic biology.

Yes, the anus did not evolve to have anything inserted into it. But this does not mean it cannot be sexually arousing to do so.

A big reason is its large number of nerve endings. Ever felt unexpectedly turned on during your bowel movements? That is what we are talking about.

Now take that sensation and crank it up to eleven, giving you an idea why a woman receiving anal sex can be so arousing.

Spooning Position

Location plays a part as well. Not where you have anal sex, though that can be exciting, too. But due to the anus and genitals being right next to one another. This proximity allows women to enjoy a single powerful orgasm or two or more orgasms simultaneously.

Anal sex also can be an arousingly unique experience all on its own. A penis or sex toy entering and withdrawing generate a woman’s anus helping to create many exciting sensations, like when specific factors are met and how it can turn them on as nothing else can.

Then there are the psychological aspects. One is an interesting flipside to women sometimes being turned off by the anal sex act.

We are referring to how women sometimes view anal sex as forbidden or, for lack of a better word, nasty.

Say what you want about human sexuality, but we can and frequently do get aroused by a taboo. And many women who have experienced anal sex often think of it as particularly out there – more than likely, an attitude shaped in part by popular media.

But there is absolutely nothing wrong with anal sex. So let’s all agree that you or a partner being interested in anal sex is perfectly healthy.

If you feel anxiety about your desires, please consult a licensed psychologist or therapist.

Double Penetration Threesome Sex Position

Moving on, we cannot discuss why many women enjoy anal sex with a partner without bringing up double penetration.

As our recent series of articles discussed, this sexual behavior is inserting two of anything into someone’s vagina or anus. Or during doubled double penetration, a pair in each orifice simultaneously.

For dual anal penetration, it might be two penises, two sex toys, or a combination. A fair explanation of double penetration is to imagine being entered by a large version of either.

But, again, this is only a fair analogy because dual penetration is more than that, as it is a pair of anything moving in concert. The result of which can result in an ultra-intense orgasm.

Now let us take a moment to briefly discuss anal sex safety.

Anal sex can be extremely risky. Such as accidentally damaging the rectum’s fragile tissues. The same for being exposed to life-threatening sexually transmitted infections.

The short answer is always to use a condom for anal sex. We strongly recommend you and your partner get tested for STIs. The same for when you get a new partner.

All in addition to only using anal sex-approved condoms and sex toys.

Anal training can help to alleviate discomfort. Same with only women-endorsed anal sex toys along with more than enough lube.

Communication is also an absolute necessity. First, to negotiate and have the enthusiastic consent of everyone involved.

Second, set up a series of safe words, letting your partner immediately know if anything goes wrong. Plus, what to do and how to react when it does.

Anal sex is risky. But understanding the risks and how to prevent them can be much safer. So be wise and careful. Your partner and your body will be better for it.

Why do men like anal sex with women?

There are a considerable number of reasons why male-identified people are aroused by anal sex with women.

Sometimes it is because of how differently the anus might feel during anal sex. Those who enjoy this uniqueness sometimes claim it is tighter and more resistant than vaginal play. There is its interior texture and other factors as well.

But we want to mention something extremely important. Just because some penis owners think the anus is tighter does not make it true.

Since human bodies are so amazingly diverse, now and again, an anus might be. But please let go of the mistaken belief that every woman’s anus is preferable to vaginal penetration.

Here is a great reason for getting aroused by anal sex with women. Surprisingly it is not necessarily about how penetrating the anus feels. Instead, it is when men get turned by when their partners are aroused.

Because sex is not something to be taken or given, nor is it a commodity to be exchanged.

Likewise, do not think of it as a competition. Like how many lovers you have had or what sex acts you have done. These and other toxic attitudes are not good for your mental health or those you play with.

Then what should sex be? Strive for having healthy sexual relationships by being sex positive, and for anal sex or anything else, you do a shared experience.

One where everyone’s wants, desires, and concerns are respected. Not least of which is taking pleasure in your partner’s sexual arousal.

Men enjoy sex with a million different reasons. The same is true for women. But however you or someone else likes it, remember you are having sex with somebody. Not with only one or more of their orifices.
