Who couldn’t use another cute-as-can-be, discreet, rechargeable clitoral suction stimulator? I certainly can’t think of anyone. This tiny, shiny seashell is portable, rechargeable, and, rarest of all, displayable! But does the small size foretell a weak motor or a less-than-durable build? Find out with me as I venture into uncharted waters in this Lovehoney Venus Glow review!
I can’t think of a cuter, more affordable clit sucker for a first-time buyer. Giftable, fun, and travel-friendly, the Lovehoney Venus Glow is worth every penny! However, seasoned sex toy enthusiasts or anyone who needs a wallop of power won’t be charmed by its limited features and lighter stimulations.
Who Should Try It? If you have never tried clitoral suction before, this little seashell needs to become part of your world. It’s perfect for beginners or anyone needing a discreet toy that doesn’t stand out if left on your nightstand.
Who Can Skip It? If you’ve used sex toys for a while and are ready for a more luxurious upgrade, choose something with more features like the Womanizer Next instead. Those who like patterned stimulations will also want a stimulator with the option for something other than steady suction. People who need power will also want to look elsewhere, like the Womanizer Premium 2.

What Is the Lovehoney Venus Glow?
The Lovehoney Venus Glow is a small, aesthetically pleasing clitoral suction stimulator. It’s waterproof, rechargeable, and has seven levels of intensity. While some people describe clitoral suction as feeling like oral sex, this sex toy feels gentler and more fluttery, though the higher levels feel more intense. Clitoral suction appeals to people who have never had an orgasm before and anyone who wants to try to learn to squirt.
First Impressions and Features
Unboxing
Is the unboxing fancy? No, but it’s more than I would have expected from an under $40 suction vibe. The Lovehoney Venus Glow comes in a small, thin cardboard box with a USB recharging cable, a safety guide, and a quick start guide. It doesn’t come with a lube sample or a storage bag, so it’s a good idea to purchase a small makeup bag to store the device in alongside the cord while not in use (You can see all the items in the image below).
Features
The Lovehoney Venus Glow has radiant features, including:
- Waterproof, body-safe materials
- Waterproof and sized for travel
- Decent battery life

Lovehoney Venus Glow specifications at a glance:
- Material: Body-safe silicone
- Size: 2.75” long, 6.5” circumference
- Color: Iridescent white
- Mechanism: Clitoral suction
- Weight: 2.25 ounces
How Do I Use the Lovehoney Venus Glow?
Unbox the clitoral suction stimulator, and then charge it with the USB charging cable. It comes with a magnetic charging cable for idiot-proof charging. Align the charging pins with the cable, and it will snap into place. The LED light on the power button will blink if you’ve connected it correctly. Once the Venus Glow is fully charged, the light will remain on.
The manual estimated that it would take 50 minutes to charge and then last for 90 minutes. When I tested the battery life, it lasted two hours and twenty-six minutes on the lowest setting after a full charge and then took almost an hour and a half to get completely juiced up again. It took longer on both ends than estimated, but overall, it had a decent battery life for such a small gadget.
When the device is charged, wash it with warm water and antibacterial soap (or sex toy soap if you have it on hand); then dry with a lint-proof cloth. When you’re ready, put water-based lubricant around your clit and the Venus Glow’s nozzle. Place the nozzle around your clit until it forms a comfortable seal. If you’ve never done this before, it may take a couple of tries. Getting turned on first can help this process go much more smoothly.
Next, hold the power button located on the side of the device down for two seconds until it turns on. If you want to cycle through the seven intensity levels, press the power button briefly; each time, it will take you up a level. Then, press the power button and hold for two seconds to turn the toy off. Wash it once finished and store it in a small makeup bag or other container that will protect it from the elements.

My Personal Experience
I loved this little gadget, and I knew I would from the moment I opened the package. It’s so adorable I want to show it off to everyone. I am shocked at the quality it packs at such a low price point. I can’t get over how well-made this toy is. It’s a total steal!
One of the minor issues I ran into is that it is so small that if you use too much lube, it will become extremely slippery and difficult to hold. Go easy on the lube, and you shouldn’t have a problem.
Lastly, the stimulations were light enough for me to use in or out of the tub, even though I typically prefer to use suction toys in the tub. But there was a wide range of stimulations, and it will appeal to anyone who likes light to medium suction power.
Packaging
The packaging was minimal, which is expected since this is a budget vibrator (you can see the box in the image below). The quick start guide and safety instructions are small, but tinier yet is their font. The words are almost comically minuscule. If you have poor eyesight or even regular eyesight, you might want to grab a magnifying glass. I didn’t see a manual online, which would be an excellent option since the print is so ridiculous. Other than that, the packaging is what you would expect from a Lovehoney purchase.
Design
I was beyond impressed by the design. It’s pretty, looks like a seashell, and doesn’t have any words on it to make it less discreet (though the Lovehoney logo is visible.) You could probably display this on your mantle, and no one would be the wiser. The Venus Glow is prettier than a lot of devices I have at triple or quadruple the price.
As you can see in the image above, the nozzle is on the smaller side, so if you have a larger clit or have used devices before where the nozzle felt too small, you might want to grab a different clit sucker, like the Womanizer Next which comes with two different-sized nozzles.
Material
This suction vibe is made from latex-free, phthalate-free, body-safe silicone. It’s waterproof and soft but not the most luxurious silicone I’ve used. Overall, the material was incredible, especially considering the price point.
Stimulations
The Lovehoney Venus Glow uses gentle air vibrations to stimulate your clit, touch-free. For some people, this reduces overstimulation and can allow you to have multiple orgasms without getting sore. Thanks to the speed and intensity of air pulses, orgasms often arrive fast and furious without leaving time for build-up. Fortunately, the Lovehoney Venus Glow has a very low setting for those who prefer gentler masturbation settings and the ability to warm up before climaxing.
The website said the Lovehoney Venus Glow has ten intensity settings in one of the featured pictures, but the manual said it had seven, so I wanted to investigate and see how many settings it indeed offers. When I cycled through the settings, I found there were seven. It’s a bit odd that it has it listed differently on the website.
All the stimulations are on the lighter side, so they aren’t the thuddy, overwhelming air pulses characteristic of other suckers. The higher end does have power, but it’s not the mechanical thump of many—it’s a very smooth experience, and I never needed to go above setting three. The jump between levels is slight, too, which is a nice touch. You can gradually ramp up the power.
After an hour, the Lovehoney Venus Glow got a little bit warm, but not worryingly so. Lastly, it has no patterns to play with, but I rarely use those, so I did not miss them.
Sound Level
When I tested the battery, which consisted of carrying this little sucker around in my pocket and feeling the tingle until it died, it was essentially silent. No one in my house noticed I was carrying around a sex toy in my pocket for hours. That says a lot since many clitoral suckers are loud until they are suctioned directly over the clit. The sound level does rise as you increase intensity levels, true of any device. But don’t expect a noiseless experience if you tend to like more powerful suction.
When I tested the decibel levels, they ranged from 52-62, which is louder than I would have guessed from listening to it (image above).
Build Quality and Dimensions
The build quality is decent, especially considering the price. And the dimensions are small, making this an ideal companion on trips. It fits easily inside my pocket and would be a great addition to your purse for on-the-go pleasure (You can see how it compares size-wise to some of my other clit suckers in the image below).
Ease of Use
The Lovehoney Venus Glow could not be any more straightforward to use. It has only one button, is waterproof for easy cleaning, and doesn’t have a lot of features, settings, or an app to master. No fuss to be found. 10/10 stars for ease of use!
Versatility
Since this clit sucker is so easy to use, it’s not very versatile. It has only one option for pleasure: clitoral suction. If you don’t like that, you’re out of luck! It also lacks any patterns to try or the capability to be used hands-free.
However, it is waterproof, making it easier to use in an array of settings, like a hot tub or shower. It’s also small and quiet enough that it would be easy to incorporate into partnered play. Keep in mind that it won’t quite lie flat against your stomach due to the shell shape, so missionary may not be the best, but it works like a dream in the spooning position.
Warranty and Support
Lovehoney offers 60-day returns for unopened and unused products. They also provide a one-year product warranty if the clit suction stimulator is defective. Lastly, they have a 100-day satisfaction promise, which allows you to return it if it doesn’t enhance your sex life. That’s the best guarantee I’ve ever come across!
Minor Issues I Found During Testing
Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the Lovehoney Venus Glow, but I did notice the lack of patterns and that the stimulations were on the lighter side.

Alternatives to the Lovehoney Venus Glow
Inya Rose
Inya Rose provides hot competition for the Lovehoney Venus Glow since it is a sexy aesthetic clit sucker under $50. The Inya Rose is shaped like a rose, but it’s less discreet since the power button is more noticeable. However, it comes with its own storage bag, making it the cheaper purchase. The Venus Glow has a better charge-time-to-use-time ratio, and it’s also a bit quieter. My Inya Rose arrived slightly dirty, so if I were buying a gift for myself or someone else, I would choose the Lovehoney Venus Glow.
You can read my Inya Rose review here for more details.
Womanizer Starlet
The Womanizer Starlet is another budget clit sucker brought to you by a trusted sex toy brand, Womanizer. The typical Womanizer features have been pared down, but the basics and the quality remain. The Starlet comes in a bag that isn’t very giftable, and it doesn’t come with a storage bag either. It has four intensity settings but no patterns to choose from. The major bummer about the Womanizer Starlet is that it’s not waterproof, making it potentially less durable and trickier to clean. It comes with a five-year warranty and costs $80 when not on sale.
