What is Lovense Max 2?
Max 2 s a teledildonic male masturbator from Lovense. It features a non-descript orifice and a smooth-textured sleeve enclosed in an ABS plastic case. Packaging
Like the original Max, this one comes in an unlabeled brown package to enhance your privacy. The discreet packaging makes it impossible for your neighbors or passersby to know what you’re up to. The backside also features a few tips, including how to use and control the device. Overall, Lovense maintained a simple yet classy packaging with just the right information.

Design
The Max 2 features a ribbed cylindrical body to enhance handling. The case is made of high-quality hard ABS plastic, a non-toxic and non-porous material. The simple design gives the masturbator a low-key, sophisticated, yet masculine look.
During my testing, it felt a bit heavy when I held it with one hand. Therefore I assumed it was heavier than a Fleshlight. But when I held both the Stamina Training Unit and Max 2 in my hands, they felt about equal weight. Their length is also about the same. One difference is that Fleshlight has a narrower body at the base, so it’s slightly easier to hold the case with one hand.
The case is easy to open on the top end, especially when you want to clean the sleeve. The bottom has a magnetic charging dock and air pressure vent with a sliding switch to control vacuum suction. You can also find a quick-release valve (emergency release) at the bottom, a feature that I liked.
One thing I didn’t like was the air vent design. It’s very challenging to open and close. And I had to use my fingernails to adjust it properly!
Furthermore, the company recommends you close the quick-release valve before you clean it. But this instruction is easy to forget, and I am sure many users will forget to close it.
Note: It should be IPX6 water-resistant, but I didn’t test that.
Battery Life & Charging
Charging Max 2 is easy, though. Simply turn it off and connect the magnetic USB cable to the small charging port at the bottom. You can plug the cable into a USB port or an AC power adapter to start charging. The charging port is a bit sensitive, and the cord can fall out if you’re not careful.
Max 2 has a Li-ion rechargeable battery, and it takes about two hours to charge it fully. I could use it for about two hours on a full charge, which is very good.
Note: Do not use it while charging. If the red indicator light doesn’t turn on when attempting to charge, rotate the cable 180 degrees.
The Sleeve
The sleeve is made of TPE material. TPE is hypoallergenic, phthalate-free, squishy, and realistic. The major downside with TPE is it’s porous, making cleaning and maintenance more complex compared to a Fleshlight. Furthermore, you can only use water-based silicone.
You can choose whether to remain with a clear orifice or buy the pink vaginal-like orifice separately. The transparent option is easier to clean because you can see the interior when washing. The non-vagina option is also suitable for gay guys or men who don’t want a vagina. On the other hand, the vagina sleeve is ideal for people who enjoy using a realistic-looking masturbator.
The sleeve texture features ridges and nodules, which, together with the vibrating motor and air pumps stimulate your dick. Whether the vibrations and contractions are turned on or not, the ridges massage your penis depending on your strokes’ speed and direction.
Like the Fleshlight Flight Pilot, the sleeve is sticky, and pubic hair can get stuck. No biggie, but it makes cleaning a bit more time-consuming.
The Controls
You can control the vibrations and contractions using the two buttons on the case or the dedicated smartphone app. With the remote app, you can also sync the device to your favorite music and enjoy harmonized vibrations.
To control using the buttons, start by pressing and holding the power button (lower one) until the indicator light turns green (about 3 seconds). You can also use the button to toggle through the seven vibration settings. Simply press it to move from one setting to the other. The patterns are:

The other button allows you to toggle through subtle, mild, and deep contraction settings.
During my review, I found that the masturbator makes these clicking noises. Not a big deal for me, but it could be a turnoff for some men.
How To Use Lovense Max 2?
1. Solo Play Using the Buttons
The most straightforward way to control the masturbator is with two raised LED buttons. Firstly, the lower button plays the role of the power knob. Press and hold for three seconds until the indicator light turns green. Once turned on, press the button to toggle through seven vibration patterns. While at it, use the second button to toggle through three contraction settings. You can also open the air hole to control suction power.
2. Solo Play Using the App
Once you download and connect the app to your Max 2, you can use music, create your own patterns, or use other peoples’ to control the vibrations. For music, transfer downloaded music to your ‘music’ folder for Android users or to the ‘songs’ folder if you have an iPhone.

To control the device using the mobile app, start by downloading the app on your phone. Max 2 is compatible with iOS 10.0 and later, and Android 4.3 and later devices as long as Bluetooth 4.0 is enabled.
Once you’ve downloaded the app, sign in to open an account. Then:
- Turn on Max 2 (green light indicates readiness to pair).
- Click the ‘link/connection’ icon on the top right corner.

My Personal Experience
Ease Of Use
As soon as I got the Max 2, I couldn’t wait to see whether the hype was justified. Setting up was easy, and I had everything, including the app, ready in less than 10 minutes.
Stimulations
To start with, I wanted to feel how stroking manually felt, and I must admit, even without the vibrations, Max 2 feels great. My only advice would be to use plenty of water-based lube to elevate the sensations.
I couldn’t write this Lovense Max 2 review without trying out the vibration and contraction settings. Would I? What I liked about the vibrations is they’re random and not the standard increase in speed from one to seven.
The 360-degree contractions make the experience pretty realistic, with the adjustable air vent allowing you to regulate pressure. I tried stroking at top speed (vibration pattern seven and contraction setting three), and I almost blew myself up (literally). Of course, I’ve gotten more resilient over time, but the highest settings are not for the faint-hearted.
App Control
Lastly, I couldn’t wait to enjoy the versatility of using the app. My first stop was the music sync option, which I wanted to try so badly. I already had a bedroom playlist downloaded on my phone, so it only took a minute. The music-inspired vibrations felt surprisingly lovely. And I could feel the tweak of the beats transferred to my cock with the ridges on the sleeve’s wall contracting and relaxing to the rhythm.
Long-Distance Sex
