10 Best Remote-Controlled Vibrators [Video Demonstration]

We use affiliate links and may receive a small commission on purchases.

All the remote-controlled vibrators we tested

Remote-controlled vibrators are in high demand for numerous reasons. For one, they can be used for hands-free pleasure; no reaching, twisting, or fumbling required. Some work discreetly for public wear for a sexy, daring secret. Others allow your partner to control it while you get intimate.

Remotely controllable pleasure devices are more devil-may-care than traditional sex toys, and there’s the BDSM angle of receiving or giving pleasure wherever, whenever, too. But the best of the best accomplish several things at once, including remaining easy to use while offering additional versatility.

Let’s get right to it: the Lovense Lush 4 took the crown. This comfortably wearable, perfectly remote-controllable G-spot vibrator is the greatest of all time, or at least, as of now. Nothing tops its unique combination of versatility, power, and ease of use. It incorporates remote control use seamlessly in a way that I can’t seem to get enough of.

But the others on this list are also worthy of your spending cash for other reasons, and people of any gender are sure to find something they love.

Key Takeaways

Test Winner: Lovense Lush 4
Lovense Lush 4Lovense Lush 4 received the highest rating in our testing. The discreet G-spot vibrator has 7 vibration patterns, a bigger motor, and redesigned tail. It’s also compatible with the Lovense Remote app for exciting public play.

Budget: Dame Lay
Dame Lay Panty VibratorThis is the best remote control vibrator you can get for $80. Perfect for discreet public play, hands-free pleasure, and all-around wearable fun, I am aghast at the price point when compared with the competition. For my money, this is the best you can do.

Dual Stimulation: We-Vibe Chorus Pro
We-Vibe Chorus ProIf you want both clit and G-spot stimulation, We-Vibe Chorus Pro is our top pick. The flexible design is easy to adjust, and it has multiple vibration combinations. You can control it using the built-in interface, the wireless remote, or the free We-Connect app.

Meet The Tester

Hi, I’m Angela Kempf, a sex writer and product tester by day, and someone who can’t take anything seriously also by day. I love to try new things, both inside and outside of the bedroom, and I take novelty and pleasure seriously. I’m committed to stigma-reduction, and I love inclusive toys.

Integrity is important to us here at My Sex Toy Guide. We buy each and every review sample with our own money, and we never accept free products in exchange for a positive review. We also want to be transparent about our business model. While we depend on affiliate commissions, we would never give a favorable review to a product just because it offers a higher payout. Every item on this list is included for one very reason: it’s genuinely among the very best.

How We Picked the Products

There are a lot of intriguing sex toys out there, and it feels like new ones are coming out every month. Narrowing down the field was a group effort: the team here suggested their personal favorites (both brands and specific models) as well as notable new releases/remodels and products with exceptionally good reviews on other sites.

We still wound up with dozens of remotely controlled vibrators to test, and we divided them up and sent them home with our testers. Each vibrator got 30 days with its assigned tester so we got to know our toys very, very well.

  • Since these toys are meant for partnered play, often outside the bedroom (sometimes very outside!) the Bluetooth range was critical. We only considered vibrators with enough connection strength that they could be controlled from across the table in a restaurant, as an example. We preferred hands-free vibrators with dedicated smartphone apps, which offer unlimited range; plus, they are far more discreet to use in public than a brightly colored remote control.
  • And speaking of public play, we also prioritized vibrators like the Lovense Lush 4 and Edge 2 that can be used with discretion in public settings. This means that they are comfortable to wear, indiscernible under all but the tightest pants, and quiet enough that nobody can hear your panties buzzing.
  • Remotely controlled vibrators aren’t much fun if they can’t actually be remotely controlled, so we gave the highest marks to models that are engineered to enhance connectivity. The Lovense Lush 4 features redesigned antennae with a printed circuit board (PCB), as an example. And the remote control for the We-Vibe Chorus Pro responds intuitively to haptic feedback.
  • In life and with sex toys, which we think are a very important part of life, people rarely complain about having too many good choices. Vibrators with a wide range of settings on their menus earned the most points.
  • The build and material quality were also crucial considerations. We only tested and rated vibrators made from body-friendly materials. We also looked at the fit and finish of the devices as well as the caliber of their construction.
  • Because you may be wearing these vibrators when you’re out and about, we looked for models that had adequate battery life for these adventures. There’s nothing wrong with a quickie at home when the mood strikes, but remotely controlled vibrators sometimes have a very different use case. We also liked toys that recharged quickly.
  • Lastly, we took note of special features that didn’t fit neatly into any category but still deserved recognition. Some of these included suction and wave stimulation, a completely waterproof design, and the ability to multitask.

All of our testers prepared detailed written reports that included numerical ratings for each criterion. We reviewed the reports and calculated an overall score, with metrics weighted according to their importance. Our heavyweights included Design (25%) and Stimulation (25%), followed by Range (10%), Discretion (10%), and Settings (10%).

1. Lovense Lush 4: Our Overall Test Winner

Lovense Lush 4

Why I love Lovense Lush 4:

Oh, how I love the Lovense Lush 4. There’s so much to enjoy that it has won many superlatives, including the best public vibrator award. That’s because it is discreet and quiet once it is placed inside. The Lush 4 is comfortable and snug, yet the shape puts intense pressure on my G-spot, which is a good thing in small doses. I wouldn’t wear this for the long haul, but it feels very spicy for a quick drink out with my partner.

You might be wondering how the Lovense Lush 4 won this venerable title when it does not, in fact, come with a remote control. That’s because of the Lovense app, which turns your phone into the remote control. Better yet, this remote control can be operated by someone thousands of miles away. But if you’re looking for a handheld remote control, the Lovense Lush 4 isn’t for you.

Me controlling Lush 4 using the smartphone app

The primary reason I insist this is the best is the unparalleled app experience. Lovense knows what they’re doing with the app, and they make it easy to use whether you’re in a long-distance relationship, camming, or just indulging in some solo play. I love this app experience so much. Years ago, it was ahead of the market by a long shot. Since then, other apps have caught up, but none mimic the sleek interface, constant connectivity, and amusing versatility of the Lovense app. I have created my own patterns, but patterns aren’t typically my jam.

My favorite Lovense app activity is gamifying the masturbation experience by playing one of their in-app games that connects effortlessly and instantaneously to my stimulations. My second favorite part? Curating partnered play by theming the LED light display, giving my partner control, and syncing it with his voice. That’s my recipe for the perfect evening. Minus the light display, most of the app options will work with the other Lovense devices on this list, too. But I adore the concealment of a G-spot vibe, the quiet secret I can keep with me wherever I go.

Lovense Lush 4

The Lovense Lush 4 unboxing experience is worth every penny, and so is the design. The rounded pinpoint on the egg part of the vibe rests noticeably against my G-spot, giving me stimulation even if the vibrator is off. The shape alone makes the sensations intense, and the vibrations put it over the top. The external arm is slightly flexible, but not as flexible as other Lush iterations I’ve had the pleasure of testing. And it doesn’t vibrate against the clit, which keeps the noise level down but will disappoint anyone who loves dual stimulation.

The sound level ranged from 35 to 49 decibels during the unboxing video. I tested the sound level while wearing it, and it never rose above 40 decibels, thanks to my body muting most of the noise. This made it discreet enough for me to enjoy most places, though it’s not completely noiseless. This is simply the best, better than all the rest, and it’s the one I find myself reaching for most often.

The packaging

Minor issues I found during testing:

The Lovense Lush 4’s shape is comfortable and pleasantly heavy, but it was too much for me to enjoy for longer wear or tantric evenings. It also doesn’t come with a storage bag, which feels like they cut a corner they shouldn’t have at this price point. The retail price tips the scales at $259, so I would only buy this during a sale, which Lovense frequently has. Lastly, there’s no physical remote control, merely the app, but that didn’t make a difference to me.

If you want to see what Lovense Lush 4 looks like and how to use it, please watch our unboxing and demonstration video below:

Cons:

  • Cleaning the seam between materials can be tedious.
  • It doesn’t stimulate the clitoris.

2. Dame Lay Panty Vibrator: Our Budget Pick

Dame Lay Panty Vibrator

Why I love the Dame Lay:

Folks, get comfortable, because I could talk about how much I love Dame Lay for hours before even broaching the price point. Dame is one of my all-time favorite sex toy companies because of how reliably awesome, durable, and consistent their products are. The fact that the Dame Lay accomplishes 90% of what every other vibrator on this list does for half the price is astonishing.

Yet, that’s exactly what it does. It is $80, which is a baffling price in this economy. I can skip a dinner out with my partner and save enough to buy a remote-controlled vibrator with the potential for endless orgasms, which is nearly unbelievable.

The remote control charging

The Dame Lay comes with a physical remote control and no app, which is what I want for everyday vibration. I love a vibrator that doesn’t make me reach into my underwear to calibrate the settings. I just put the Dame Lay into my underthings, attach the magnet to the other side, and then the remote control helps me get to the perfect setting. It offers additional versatility that the button on the toy doesn’t.

The sound level ranged from 45 to 50 decibels, making it louder than the Lovense Lush 4. But the clitoral stimulation is powerful, and the sound level won’t matter if you’re going somewhere loud, like a concert. I’m not brave enough to wear panty vibes on quiet date nights, so this never posed a problem for me. Mostly, I just appreciated how potent the vibrations were. It worked even better for me if I was able to sit and therefore grind up against it.

Me testing the magnet on one of my panties

Next, this remote-controlled vibrator is so easy to use. It doesn’t necessarily mean you should skip the user manual, because you may be wondering why you can only access the different intensity levels on the remote control and not the one-button interface. But other than that one puzzling design choice, you can basically FAFO to figure out how you like to use this. There’s no app to learn, which cuts down on the learning curve.

The Dame Lay provides the most value on this list. For my money, this gets you a good amount of power, top-notch simplicity, and seamless, silky, body-safe, waterproof materials. Bargain hunters will be getting so much more per dollar spent with the Dame Lay than any of the others. The sacrifice is minimal, but this does lack an app.

The ridge on Dame Lay

Minor issues I found during testing:

This won’t work if you need an app for long-distance connection or pattern creation. It’s also quite thick, bulky, and substantial for a panty vibrator, which I don’t mind but may bother someone who wears tighter or more revealing clothes than I do. It may not feel quite sturdy enough if you’re wearing a thong and a mini skirt.

If you want to see what Dame Lay looks like and how to use it, please watch our unboxing and demonstration video below:

You can read my Dame Lay review here for more details.

Features:

  • Material: Medical-grade silicone
  • Size: 5” long
  • Color: Periwinkle
  • Mechanism: Wearable clitoral vibrations
  • Weight: 2 oz

Pros:

  • Loads of features
  • Affordable
  • Includes a rechargeable remote control and storage bag
  • Waterproof, body-safe, silky materials
  • Low battery indicator
  • Three-year warranty

Cons:

  • Is not app-compatible
  • Thick design for a panty vibe

3. We-Vibe Chorus Pro: Best for Dual Stimulation

We-Vibe Chorus Pro

Why I love the We-Vibe Chorus Pro:

The We-Vibe Chorus Pro is a C-shaped vibrator meant for G-spot and clitoral vibration. It’s wearable on a date night, but more impressively, during penetrative sex. I can slip it on, and there’s room for the clitoral and G-spot vibrations as well as my partner’s erection. I could get a little sign that says “All are welcome here” for my vagina because the Chorus Pro makes this possible.

What makes the We-Vibe Chorus Pro stand out from other remote-control vibrators is that the dual stimulation can be controlled separately. This matters to me a lot because I can enjoy more potent internal vibration than external, and I imagine there are other vulva-havers who feel similarly. If you have one extra-sensitive part and another that enjoys intensity, being able to fine-tune the stimulation can mean the difference between orgasmic bliss and pain or overstimulation.

Me holding Chorus Pro

The vibrations are potent, thanks to the three motors. So how does this bode for the sound levels? When I tested it, it ranged between 44 and 51, the loudest so far on this list. But the G-spot vibrations are deadened significantly once in place. The clitoral vibrations stay loud though, so this is another public play vibrator that will be most comfortable to wear in loud places. But if you need both kinds of stimulation to get off, this is the best remote-controlled vibrator I’ve found. It takes a lot of warm-up for me to be able to get anywhere near climaxing without clitoral stimulation, and this addition simplifies it by providing stimulation in both places.

Next, let’s talk about this remote control. It’s one of the techier items on this list, thanks to its haptic feedback. I love a remote control that responds to haptic feedback because sometimes, when you’re getting close to orgasm, remembering up, down, right, and left is tough. But a remote that you can squeeze harder to increase the intensity level simplifies all that. It translates the intensity of your body into intense stimulations, and it’s ultra-intuitive to use.

Close-up of the control buttons

Lastly, the versatility is killer. I can use this alone, with a partner, and even during penetrative sex. I can wear this out, so long as I am in tight-fitting underthings. And as a long-time We-Vibe fan, I’ve tried out many versions of their wearable vibes, and this is one of the most comfortable. That’s why it’s called the Chorus Pro and not the Chorus Amateur.

Minor issues I found during testing:

This wearable vibrator will be uncomfortable for people who experience pain during penetrative sex. Its rippled internal texture may not be comfortable for people with vaginal dryness, either. Lastly, the remote control’s haptic feedback may not work well for those with grip issues.

If you want to see what the We-Vibe Chorus Pro looks like and how to use it, please watch our unboxing and demonstration video below:

  • Material: Body-safe silicone

  • Color: Cosmic purple, satin black, or electric pink
  • Mechanism: Wearable clitoral and G-spot vibration for use during penetration
  • Weight: 15.5 oz, including case and remote

Pros:

  • Three powerful motors
  • Endless customization and versatility
  • Protective hardshell charging and storage case
  • Intuitive touch sense modes
  • Discreet and modern

Cons:

  • It won’t work for people with pain during sex
  • Pricy; $230

4. Lovense Ferri: Best for Clit Stimulation

Lovense Ferri

Why I love the Lovense Ferri:

The Lovense Ferri is the second panty vibe on this list, but it deserves its spot thanks to the penetrating, soul-stirring, eye-rolling vibrations. Ferri is a tiny whisp of a thing, and her small stature belies the experience you’re about to have once you stick this in your panties. It’s about the size of a finger, so I never worry that people can tell my panties have company. And the magnet always holds it right where I need it.

She’s not the most luxurious experience on this list, but the Lovense Ferri has the tech to make an impression. What’s that app do? Well, for one, it outperforms the competition. For more reasons for my fondness of the Lovense app, check the Lovense Lush 4’s section, all of which apply to the Ferri, too. The long-distance control, sleek interface, and connectivity are doing laps around the other sex toy apps. The remote control is unparalleled. And the choice is simple. If you love app-connected remote control, the Lush 4 is going to rock your G-spot’s world, and the Ferri will rock your clit’s. Though I wouldn’t wear both for fear of the Lush 4’s external arm making the Ferri’s panty vibes more audible, you could, and it would work well if you’re by yourself.

Lovense Ferri and the Lovense Connect App

The sound levels aren’t the most discreet on this list, but that’s due to two reasons: the Ferri is strong, and it’s an external device, so your body doesn’t deaden the sound. Still, if I want to allow my partner to control the clitoral sensations from a long distance, there’s nothing I would choose before this. Even a loud air conditioner or the sound of a car motor goes a long way toward covering my secret when I’m wearing this out.

Lastly, the power of this remote-controlled vibrator is nothing short of incredible. The Ferri is for people who want to climax, not just tease. I can’t think of anything better for bringing my (occasionally) long-distance partner’s virtual touch with me anywhere I go. The combination of discretion, power, and unbeatable app experience is matchless.

Closeup of the controls

And the Lovense Ferri got me through a period of vaginal pain, thanks to the ability to give me an orgasm without penetration, so I highly recommend this remote-controlled vibe for people going through menopause, medically related vaginal dryness, or other internal pain. It’s a lifesaver!

Minor issues I found during testing:

If you’re buying this at full price for $200, that’s a lot to spend. Wait for a sale—they happen frequently and are worth the wait. The noise may turn off anyone who wants this vibrator specifically for public play.

If you want to see what Lovense Ferri looks like and how to use it, please watch our unboxing and demonstration video below:

You can read our complete review of the Lovense Ferri in this article.

Features:

  • Material: Medical-grade silicone, ABS Plastic
  • Diameter: 1.06″
  • Length: 2.93″

Pros:

  • A petite and powerful vibrator for discreet public play.
  • The angled body rests on the clitoris comfortably.
  • It has a soft silicone finish.
  • You can control the panty vibrator remotely.
  • Impressive battery life – 3 hours.
  • The magnetic clip enhances security.

Cons:

  • The panty vibe can be loud on high settings.

5. Butterfly Effect Wearable Vibrator: Best Butterfly-Shaped

Butterfly Effect Wearable Vibrator

Why I love the Butterfly Effect Wearable Vibrator:

Some people prioritize aesthetic vibrators. Maybe they’re cammers, or maybe they’re Marie-Kondo-inspired masturbators who want everything they see and touch to spark joy. I am one of those people who fall instantly in love with a pretty vibrator, and that’s why I love the Butterfly Effect Wearable Vibrator. It’s pretty, and it has a remote control? Sign me up.

Many other aesthetic wearable vibes rely only on the gimmick of being cute, and that’s where the Butterfly Effect differs. This device offers both internal and external stimulation, all wrapped up in one adorable package. Two motors provide more power than is strictly necessary, with over 4” insertable, plus clitoral vibrations. Power-wise, this toy impresses. Plus, for the price, it feels luxurious to get two powerful stimulations that you can control separately. That’s a steal.

Charging port and control button

The Butterfly Effect Wearable Vibrator is $91-ish dollars, so while it’s one of the more affordable on this list, it still comes in at a higher price than the Dame Lay. The Dame Lay offers more value, but it’s not as aesthetically pleasing as the Butterfly Effect. It all comes down to how much you’re willing to spend, how much time you’ll spend gazing upon your vibe, and how much it matters to you if other people see your toys. I like to keep some sex toys out, as adult conversation starters, and the Butterfly Effect takes the cake for cuteness.

The remote control is cute and reasonably easy to decipher. I like to hand it over to my partner so he can watch the pretty vibe make me squirm. There isn’t an app to pair it with, but using it hands-free is simple and straightforward. The cutesy design is so charming that it makes me want to pair it with an outfit.

The remote control

The sound of the Butterfly Effect tops out at 56 decibels, which is decently noisy. This remote-controlled vibrator is best for in-home use, unless you’re a braver soul than I am. Some of the decibels will be deadened when you put it on, but the clitoral ones won’t, so use it out and about at your own risk. But it’s so cute that I often stick to using it during partnered play, where someone can enjoy its charm.

Minor issues I found during testing:

The Butterfly Effect Wearable Vibrator isn’t great for periods of vaginal dryness, vaginismus, or pain upon insertion. It’s too sizeable to be comfortable for long-term wear. The cute design also incorporates ridges and seams, so this is a more difficult-to-clean entry on this list, though its waterproof materials mitigate that somewhat. Further, it’s a little louder than the other remote-controlled vibes I’ve chosen, but that doesn’t matter much to me since I use this one strictly at home.

If you want to see what the Butterfly Effect Wearable Vibrator looks like and how to use it, please watch our unboxing and demonstration video below:

You can read our full Butterfly Effect Wearable Vibrator review here.

Features:

  • Material: Silicone
  • Dimensions: height: 4.04″, insertable shaft length: 4.39″, shaft width: 1.31″
  • Color: Teal
  • Weight: 1.25 lb
  • Power type: USB-C charger

Pros:

  • Provides internal and external stimulation
  • Remote control makes it easy for a partner to provide pleasure
  • Waterproof

Cons:

  • Cutesy design might not be to everyone’s taste
  • No way to adjust the speed of the vibration patterns
  • Girth of the shaft would not be ideal for a vibe beginner

6. Lovense Exomoon: Most Discreet

Lovense Exomoon

Why I love the Lovense Exomoon:

The Lovense Exomoon is the move for anyone who values discretion above all else. It is so realistic cosplaying as lipstick that no one should be the wiser—unless they, too, own the Lovense Exomoon. If someone recognizes it, no worries because you’ve already got something in common. But it’s also a great choice for someone like me, who loves a lipstick vibrator and can’t get over how tech-forward and app-controllable the Exomoon is.

Let’s start with the design. The Lovense Exomoon looks enough like an actual tube of lipstick that it has thrown me off more than once, and I am a frequent wearer of lipstick. I have even secretly worried that I will grab an actual tube of lipstick and stick it in my underwear, for masturbation purposes. The realism is shocking. That means I can and do keep it in my purse, bringing sexy vibes with me wherever I go (even more than usual). This is one of the only sex toys that I would ever consider leaving in my purse, and my purse is its home now. Not once has anyone caught on to my trickery. It’s safe to say that the Lovense Exomoon is the only sex toy on this list that you can leave out without anyone knowing what you’re up to (if they don’t get too close and personal). It’s not just something I remember that I could bring with me on date night—it’s something that I already have with me during date night, because it’s in my purse. Plus, it comes with a storage bag for an extra layer of privacy. I can’t imagine a more discreet remote-controlled vibe.

The content of the box

Beyond that, the Lovense app lets you control this tiny vibe remotely. And as I’ve addressed more comprehensively above, the Lovense app reigns supreme. It can do almost anything, and it does everything well. You can create your own patterns, give your long-distance lover the reins, or try patterns that strangers enjoy. The only thing this remote-controlled vibe couldn’t do was allow me to masturbate in public, since I would have to hold the lipstick in place. That said, it’s small enough to hold in place during partnered sex, so it is an effective multitasker. It doesn’t matter whether I’m holding it or my partner is, and it matters even less who is controlling it. It’s a good time either way.

The pinpoint design of this lipstick vibrator is one of its biggest selling points for me. Targeted clit stimulation is undefeated in my book. And most bullet-sized vibrators don’t have the potency of the Lovense Exomoon. When you add that little point on top, it’s almost an out-of-body experience. It gets the perfect spot, every time.

Exomoon and the box

Minor issues I found during testing:

This remote-controlled lipstick vibe is discreet AF, but the drawback is that it’s kind of noisy. Furthermore, the full retail price is rather high for a single-purpose device. Lastly, if you are playing by yourself, you will need to use one hand to hold it in place (unless you can get your thighs to hold onto something tiny) and your other hand to operate the remote control, so that can feel fussy.

If you want to see what Lovense Exomoon looks like and how to use it, please watch our unboxing and demonstration video below:

You can read our complete review of the Lovense Exomoon in this article.

Features:

  • Material: Silicone, ABS Plastic
  • Width (Tip): 0.7″
  • Total Length: 3.46″
  • Usable Length: 1.32″

Pros:

  • A small, discreet, and powerful design.
  • The pointed tip promotes precise stimulation.
  • Multiple vibration combinations.
  • The Lovense Remote app amplifies the possibilities.
  • Impressive battery life – 2 -3 hours.

Cons:

  • The vibrations boil over to the hand, causing it to go numb.

7. Lovense Lover Set: Best for Couples

The packaging

Why I love the Lovense Lover Set:

The Lovense Lover Set is a tongue-twister that is my choice for the best remote-controlled vibrators for couples. This is such a staple for today’s romantic pairs. In earlier times, people tended to meet in person and lived near each other more often. But now that you can meet romantic partners from all around the globe, long-distance toys are clutch. My partner lives with me, but travels for work a lot, and the Lovense Lover Set is what we most frequently employ to keep us connected during his absences. The remote control is what keeps us both coming back for more. But sometimes we use this pair when we are sleeping right next to each other.

You might have some questions for me, like: why are you self-pleasuring if your partner is right there in bed with you? And there are so many answers, including that someone may have pain during sex, performance anxiety, a medical condition that prevents intimacy, or the fact that it’s easier for many people to climax with a toy than a partner. Any of those reasons are valid, and Lovense has made a set that’s so much fun to use. You and your partner may decide only to use these devices when you can’t be together, but my partner and I love tandem masturbation sessions. Couples who self-pleasure together stay together.

Gush 2 and Lush 4

The app is excellent and does everything we need it to. We can use it remotely to control each other’s stimulations, chat, and video call. And the patterns and versatility mean we can sync it to sound, freeing up our hands for other activities.

But let’s talk about discretion. The penis toy isn’t super usable in public. The Lush 4 is, so that’s a bit of a mismatch. But you could use this in a public restroom, I suppose, if you wanted to have a stroke in public. The Gush 4 is somewhat loud, and the Lush 4 is quieter. But I think these work best in person, when you both want to interact with augmented stimulation.

Lovense Gush 2

For the price, I would have expected merely to receive a masturbator for my partner and me. But I was blown away by the fact that it comes with more than that, including handcuffs, a blindfold, a feather tickler, and a kraken masturbator. I have as much fun with it in person as I do when my partner is away on a business trip. All that and a satchel of lube? This is the end-all, be-all gift for a two-gender couple.

Minor issues I found during testing:

The Lovense Lover Set is expensive; in fact, it’s the most expensive remote-controlled vibrating set I recommend. But you receive a ton of value, indispensable accessories, durable devices for two people, and an app that puts other apps to shame. Further, I wish there were a set that was available for gay or lesbian couples, so it’s not as inclusive as I would like.

If you want to see what the Lovense Lover Set looks like and how to use it, please watch our unboxing and demonstration video below:

You can read my review of the Lovense Lover Set here.

Features:

  • Material: Silicone, ABS plastic, TPE
  • Mechanism: Manual penis stroker, feather tickling, internal G-spot vibration, and penis oscillation

Pros:

  • Excellent value for the price
  • Decent stimulation variety
  • Perfect for long-distance couples and public play
  • Durable
  • Hands-free pleasure for two
  • Straightforward app with fun gamification and versatility

Cons:

  • Won’t work well for gay and lesbian cis couples
  • Nothing for anal stimulation
  • Can’t use all the toys together

8. Fluffer G-Thing: Best for Gamers

Motorbunny Fluffer G-Thing Bulb Vibe

Why I love the Fluffer G-thing:

People with vulvas in the gaming world are often overlooked, or worse, harassed. And that’s one of the reasons I felt so seen and valued when the Fluffer app collaborated with the Motorbunny sex toy company. The Fluffer G-Thing is the lovechild of that collab, and it has knocked my socks off and revolutionized how I look at pleasure. It is a dream come true for people with G-spots who love to game (it’s me). Like some other devices on this list, the G-Thing doesn’t come with a physical remote, but the app allows you all the access a remote would.

Here’s the thing: I love the Lovense app, and I’ve fawned over it for years. But the Fluffer app cannot be slept on. If any sex toy app is going to overtake my number one favorite, the Lovense app, it’s going to be the Fluffer app, and I can see that happening soon. The Fluffer app is so fun, and it’s the only sex toy app that I’ve come across that has functionality that the Lovense app can’t top.

Motorbunny Fluffer G-Thing Bulb Vibe

The gamification is so serious, and it’s not just games they’ve added to their app. If you have the Playmate Haptic Relay Plug-In, which will set you back another $100 but which I happen to have in my collection, you can plug that bad boy into any UBC-ready controller, and it will translate encounters in your game into sex toy sensations. Even without that, the Fluffer G-thing provides in-game apps that are fun, contain varying levels of difficulty, and are numerous. The aesthetic is toy-like, and so is the experience. It’s one of the things that have made me feel like a child opening a Christmas present again—it offers that level of wonder and awe.

That’s why the Fluffer G-Thing is one of the coolest things I own, and one of the devices I won’t shut up about when I’m chatting with my friends. The design makes its remote-control access second to none. The G-Thing is discreet enough to use in public, and you can play it to climax with the in-app games in your car at the supermarket parking lot if you have enough privacy. If you think playing games on your phone is fun now, just wait until one gives you an orgasm.

The packaging

Minor issues I found during testing:

The truth is, getting the full potential out of the Fluffer G-Thing requires additional purchases, such as the Playmate Haptic Relay Plug-In. But if you’re willing to commit, you can enjoy the full intersection of gaming and sexual pleasure.

9. Lovense Hush 2: Best for Anal Stimulation

Lovense Hush 2

Why I love the Lovense Hush 2:

The Lovense Hush 2 holds a special place in my heart (and in my rear) for the way it provides remote-controlled anal stimulation. Let’s talk about why I think it’s the best. Right off the bat, the design is beginner-friendly. It comes in five different sizes, so finding the right size for me was a snap. I began with the smallest because most of the time I like a little zip more than an intimidating size. But there’s a size for just about anyone, from the brand-new to the size queens.

The remote control is through the amazing Lovense app, and with that comes all the functionality you could hope for. You can insert it and set an alarm, sync it to darn near anything, and give control to someone long-distance. You can expect games, versatility, and a surprisingly good connection for something that’s pinging from your butt.

Closeup of Hush 2's base

This is the best remote-controlled butt plug, possibly ever, and it’s not just thanks to the app and the size choices. It’s also due to the discretion factor. A butt plug can’t be discreet if I’m spending all night fiddling and adjusting, and that’s one thing I never have to do with the Lovense Hush 2, thanks to the sleek design. It’s powerful, which is a good thing when I am alone, but in public it could potentially make for a loud experience. But not so with the Hush 2, as the noise basically dies inside of you. I’ve tested the smallest model, and if the larger models use similar motors, the noise shouldn’t affect your public play experience.

The Hush 2 lasts for hours, and with its small size, I enjoy it for hours. The larger models have even longer battery lives, but the duration of your enjoyment may depend on how long your anus can handle that amount of weight. The sleek, small size is narrow and stays put, but doesn’t weigh me down or irritate me, so I can wear it during extended, tantric sex. Controlling it with my phone is easier and less disruptive than pausing my partnered activities to change a setting. The cherry on top for me is that people of any gender can use and enjoy this remote-controlled vibe, so it’s the perfect addition to a bisexual, poly couple’s nightstand—or really, for anyone of any gender.

The device charging

Minor issues I found during testing:

The sleek design won’t target a P-spot specifically, so if you have one, you may prefer to opt for a P-spot targeting shape. It’s $200, so wait for a sale, and you may end up spending half of that.

10. Lovense Gush 2: Best for Penis Stimulation

Lovense Gush 2

Why I love the Lovense Gush 2:

Penis-havers, I didn’t forget about you. If you’re looking for remote-controlled vibration, my partner’s penis has thoughts, and his thoughts are that nothing beats the Lovense Gush 2. He liked the original Gush, but the Gush 2 is a game-changer, thanks to the added sensation of frenulum oscillation. But more than that, this is one of his all-time favorite remotely controllable sex toys.

Keep in mind that penis toys aren’t very usable in public. So far, I haven’t found one that would be discreet enough. When it comes to public play, my partner prefers an anal toy like the Lovense Hush 2. But while using it in the privacy and comfort of your own home, the Gush 2 delivers a premium experience. The biggest selling point is the additional point of stimulation, which allows my partner to get off on vibration, a feat that doesn’t always work out for him.

Closeup of the wings

The Gush 2 is a truly hands-free penis pleaser. You don’t even need your hands to get you hard before you start; you can begin playing while soft, making it ideal for anyone with ED. The belt keeps it tightly strapped to my partner’s erection, and he can customize it to the sensations he’s used to or try brand-new grip strengths. The two straps make a big difference, setting it apart from other toys that have only one band for support and tightness.

In my vast and varied sex toy collection, I don’t have a ton of devices that allow my partner to play while he masturbates—but this one does. The Lovense gamification turns his phone into a virtual game controller. The in-app games are fun for him, and we can have sexy, nerdy competitions.

Lastly, it’s discreet. The sound level tops out at 54 decibels, so it’s not silent, but it’s not distracting either. This isn’t something that will wake your roommates from the dead of sleep to alert them that you’ve decided to rub one out.

Minor issues I found during testing:

Having a targeted point of oscillation on the frenulum is tricky with the stroker, since you won’t always be able to feel it. The design is occasionally pinchy, so extra lube is a must.

  • The Lovense Remote app never fails to impress

  • Two modes of pleasure: stroking or vibration
  • Adjustable straps for customizable pressure
  • Hands-free capability allows you to pleasure your partner

  • The toy’s flaps can be a little pinchy
  • The vibration mode isn’t super compatible with stroking

Types of Remote-Controlled Vibrators

Tech is advancing rapidly, and a whole lot of vibrators these days come with remote controls. They have different ranges: some are really only good for controlling your device without having to reach down and fumble blindly for buttons (and we are very glad those exist), but some can operate across the room and even across the world.

The three main types of remotely controlled vibrators are:

1. Remote Control/Short Distance

These remote controls have a very short range. You can control your own vibrator or hand the control to your partner, but your partner will need to be pretty close to you.

Description of how remote controlled vibrators are working

Most wireless remote controls have a top range of around 30 feet (some much less). These toys work for public play as long as you stay within range and try to avoid either physical or mechanical interference.

2. App-Controlled/Long Distance

Pleasure tech has come a long way! Lots of high-end sex toys feature dedicated smartphone apps that can control the vibrations. This means that as long as they have a strong WiFi or data connection, your partner can control your toy from thousands of miles away.

Description of how long distance vibrators are working

This is lovely for long-distance lovers who want to be able to share intimacy; some toy manufacturers let you sync your toys together or engage in chat on the app.

3. Wearables/Underwear

Wearable vibrators, also known as panty vibrators, can fall into either of the two categories above but we really think that they deserve a category of their own. These are vibrators that are either worn internally or tucked into close-fitting panties to keep them in place.

Description of how wearables/underwear works

You can use them anywhere you want, of course, but their raison d’être is discreet public play. This can be on your own or with your partner at the controls.

How to Use a Remote Control Vibrator?

First things first, ensure that the vibrator is fully charged. If it comes with a physical remote control, make sure that it has a fresh battery (most remote controls take button batteries). If your toy operates via a smartphone app, install and register the app first, then sync the toy. And if you’re going to play with a partner, they need to install and sync the app as well.

After that, it’s pretty much the same as any other vibrator:

  1. Clean your toy before using it, even (especially!) if it is fresh from the factory. If it is waterproof, this means a wash with mild soap and warm water.
  2. Set the mood with a warm bath, comfortable pillows or blankets, and your favorite music or adult content.
  3. Apply good-quality lube generously. Water-based lube is safe for all sex toys, most bodies, and condoms but it tends to dry out quickly. Oil-based lube is slipperier but it’s not condom-safe and you should check your vibrator’s user manual to ensure compatibility.
  4. Engage in foreplay by rubbing your vibrator on your vulva and clitoris so that your body gets used to the sensation.
  5. Turn the vibrator on to the lowest setting, test it out, and experiment with different patterns and intensities as you feel ready.

Remotely controlled vibrators are ideal for public play, either on your own or with a partner taking control. If you are new to this kind of play (or even if you are not), here are a few things to keep in mind:

1. Being Discreet Is Key

First, it’s part of the fun that no one else knows what’s going on in your panties. It’s your special secret.

But also, consent is fundamental when it comes to sex and kink. No one else in the store/restaurant/wherever has consented to be part of your sex life, so you should not force it on them (we can all agree that forcing sexual activity without informed, enthusiastic consent is a bad thing).

2. Start Slowly

This definitely helps with being discreet! Even with the best of intentions, it would be pretty difficult not to yelp if you’re just minding your own business and your partner fires up your vibrator at the highest setting. Start out slowly and gently, and take your time working your way up.

If your partner is operating the controls, make sure that you have a safe word or signal set up. A safe word means that all action stops completely and immediately while you regroup and possibly renegotiate.

3. Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

You’re in this together, even if only one of you is wearing the vibrator and having secret orgasms. We’ve already talked about setting up a safe word, but you should also discuss expectations and boundaries well before you head out for the evening with your remotely controlled vibrator on board.

Happy vibing!
