How Do These Two Vibrators Work?
SONA 2 and SILA cruise use sonic waves to caress your clitoris into orgasm. How Do I Use Them?

Press and hold the “+” and “-“buttons until the lights turn on and your toy is ready for use. Pressing the “+” button turns on the SILA Cruise and increases the intensity. The “-” button decreases the intensities, while the final “o” button changes the vibrating pattern and turns off the toy.
Either toy is used by using your favorite water-based lube and placing the toy on your clitoris, and finding the correct vibrating pattern that will drive you crazy. I hate when I’m using a toy in the right setting, and as I get closer to an orgasm, the motor slows down and changes the pattern that had been treating me so well.
The designers at LELO have found a solution to this issue; both the SONA 2 Cruise and SILA Cruise feature LELO’s Cruise Control feature that keeps the toys from losing power if you press them firmly against your body as you near orgasm. SONA 2 Cruise vs. SILA Cruise
Packaging
LELO makes both of these products, so their packaging is very similar. SONA 2 Cruise and SILA Cruise are delivered in sleekly designed black boxes with viewports to see the products resting snuggly in their respective foam molds. Inside the boxes are:
- USB recharging cords.
- A storage/travel bag.
- A registration card.
- A lube sachet.
- A brief user manual.
I was happy with the look and feel of the boxes and could tell LELO had used care in their designs to ensure the toys would be delivered damaged-free.
Design
SONA 2 Cruise’s great ergonomic design reminded me of a computer mouse and was easily fitted into my smaller hands. The “mouth” on the toy looked small for anyone with a larger clitoris. The three operation buttons are easily accessible and can be handled either hand. The SONA 2 Cruise looks excellent from any angle, with a velvety purple finish (Cerise is also an option) and a cute gold/metallic back plate.
SILA Cruise reminded me of a cute cartoon snail. For those new to sex toys, the gentle look of SILA Cruise will not scare you away. The clitoral opening has a slight curve that contours better than other flat designs, which helps the suction feel of the toy. SILA Cruise comes in 3 sexy colors, and the reflective chrome side panels give it an ultra-modern look.
Material
LELO has always used high-quality, medical-grade silicone for the SONA 2 Cruise and the SILA Cruise. I love this material for its durability, velvetiness, and softness. The silicone is also resistant to collecting dust and debris, saving you time cleaning. The main body of the toys uses durable ABS plastic that is allergy free and will stand up to repeated use.
Build Quality
LELO has spent time and effort creating two very high-quality products. The designs are different for the SONA 2 Cruise and the SILA Cruise, but each has top-of-the-line materials that will allow them to last for multiple years and countless orgasms.
Ease Of Use
SONA 2 Cruise advises you to hold the buttons facing toward your head during use, but I found turning the toy was more accessible, and I could press the buttons quickly with my fingertips using either my left or right hand. The toy’s shape can also be used on you by a partner with ease. It was lightweight and small, and I could move the toy to whatever area I wanted to feel the waves focused on.
SILA Cruise is not my favorite toy to use due to its shape. The head is designed for you to hold in a specific way on your clitoris, and I needed to use two hands to keep the position and use the buttons to change the settings. Using the controls was easy, but I would love a slightly different shape for this toy. Maybe we will see this in version 2?
Stimulations
SONA 2 Cruise did not disappoint in its ability to send me to the moon. The waves were softer than other toys I have used, but this lets me focus those sensations on specific areas of my clitoris. Even with the more delicate waves, the higher settings were way too intense for my liking. SONA 2 Cruise has a whopping 12 patterns to choose from, but I only stayed on one or two patterns at a mid-intensity setting and then gently crept my way to finding orgasm in just a few minutes.
SILA Cruise was an intense and wonderful experience. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the larger mouth that spread the sensations over a more extensive section of my clitoris. The SILA Cruise also gave me an excellent suction sensation that I thought would be fun to try with edging. The powerful waves kept me away from the highest setting out of fear I would numb myself forever. There are eight patterns to scroll through, but I’m a fan of a single standard setting for my entire pleasure session.
Sound Level
SONA 2 Cruise was delightfully quiet in the lower settings. Quite enough to sneak away if you’re feeling frisky at a party, and no one would hear it. Upping the intensity level also increases the noise level, and trying to be sneaky would not be advisable. I measured the max noise level for the SONA 2 Cruise at 60 dB.
SILA Cruise seemed slightly quieter than the SONA 2 Cruise, and I measured a maximum output of around 50 dB. Using the SILA in the tub helps decrease the noise level, and I recommend giving it a try, as the toy felt even better for me when used underwater.
Battery Life
Leno’s product description for the SONA 2 Cruise and SILA Cruise states that the battery life is around 2 hours. I don’t know if I was using mine wrong, but for me, I ran both toys on full batteries at their medium settings, and they lasted maybe an hour. The fact that clitoral pleasure toys tend to get you off faster than other styles means that even one hour is ample running time in my books.

What Are The Major Differences?
SONA 2 Cruise has more vibration patterns, but they are much gentler than the SILA Cruise. I felt the SONA 2 Cruise also gave deeper sensations with its higher frequency. SONA 2 Cruise has a more petite mouth that focuses the waves to specific areas to send you over the top, so any woman with a larger clitoris may not find this comfortable.
SILA Cruise has a stronger vibration and a larger mouth opening that also creates tantalizing suction and is lighter to hold. There are fewer pattern settings, and the waves do not penetrate as deep as the SONA 2 Cruise. The SILA Cruise is also harder to hold than the SONA 2 Cruise.
