How Do I Use Hot Octopuss PULSE QUEEN?
After unboxing the toy, charge it by plugging the cord into the bottom end. You will have to stab it a little, so make sure you have the point straight. While charging, the LED light will flash, and then it will remain steady once it has finished charging.
The user manual suggested it would last forty minutes and then take two and a half hours to charge a startlingly disappointing use-to-ratio time. But when I tested it, it lasted an hour and eighteen minutes on a full charge and then took two hours and twenty-two minutes to charge completely. That’s still rather low but better than expected.
The middle button turns the toy on and will take you through different vibration patterns. Then the plus button increases the intensity, and the minus button decreases it. Press and hold the middle button down to turn the PULSE QUEEN off again. Hold the bump against your clit, and fiddle with different sensations until you’ve found a winner.
Once you’re done, wash it and store it in the storage bag until next time.

My Personal Experience
I love wands and couldn’t wait to test the unique sensations the PULSE QUEEN promised. I was curious if the Pulse Plate Technology—and the oscillations rather than vibrations—would feel noticeably different from the average wand.
After trying this wand-esque vibrator out, I noticed a few things. One is that if I pressed the toy against me, the motor stopped and distorted into a mechanical whine, which was frustrating. It took me going against all my instincts to find a way to be more hands-off and not touch it, even as I bounded towards an orgasm. So, I used it as a hands-free toy, squeezing it between my thighs so I wouldn’t be tempted to touch it. However, it’s not exactly made to be a hands-free toy since it doesn’t have a remote and is not compatible with an app. But, I recommend picking one setting and riding it all the way to orgasm because grasping the toy may lead you to grind into it, and without fail, the motor buzzed out when I did this.
Though the vibrations were rumbly, I was a little surprised to see the PULSE QUEEN marketed as a wand, as it’s not as strong as most other wands I own. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how little the handle vibrated. The toy has the least vibrational transfer of any wand I’ve tried.
Packaging
The Hot Octopuss packaging is nice looking without being luxurious. It’s moderate, somewhere between the high-end, sturdy, stunning storage that LELO offers but not so practical that it looks like it’s from the drugstore.
Design
The design is pretty, if confusing, so yes, she’s a beauty QUEEN. It looks exactly like a clit-sucking device, except there is no nozzle—instead, there is a little bump that vibrates. It doesn’t look like a wand at all to me. The external bump that vibrates has some give to it so that if you grind against it, it gets pushed in a bit. I wish it lacked this flexibility because when I’m pushing a toy against me, I want more stimulation, not for the device to retract.
Further, the buttons are arranged so that the plus, or increase intensity, button is at the top if you’re looking at the PULSE QUEEN—but not if you’re using her. The minus will be at the top during use, so the user experience is a bit counterintuitive. I prefer when the toy has them backward because it’s easier to remember mid-masturbation.
The wand’s head is rounded with a small, smoothed point. This design choice hit the midpoint between broad sensations and pinpoint for me. If you need truly pinpointed sensations, the PULSE QUEEN probably won’t give you what you crave. The AMO bullet vibrator has a better shape for pinpoint and is worth trying.
I was super impressed by the barely-there vibrations I felt in my hands. Most of my vibrators get my clit and my hands in one go, but this one delivered rumbly vibes with my hands not feeling much at all. Way to go, Hot Octopuss!

The Hot Octopuss PULSE QUEEN is made from a blend of ABS plastic and soft silicone, so it’s gorgeous and it’s body-safe. 10/10.
Stimulations
The stimulations indeed offered a brand-new kind of stimulation, just like the marketing had boasted, but I’m not sure it’s what they were going for. The sensation is described as bassy oscillations rather than vibrations.
The vibrations have a distinctly mechanical feel, with an unpleasant shaking in the mix. It rattles a little bit. I’ve had other vibrators that didn’t have completely clean sensations, but this one had the most distracting cadence I’ve ever used.
However, when I didn’t put any pressure on the PULSE QUEEN, it was rumblier than I expected. There is very little transfer to the tip of the wand, which is helpful for people with neuropathy or those who don’t like their fingers to go numb from the vibrating sensation.
Sound Level
Since the stimulations are somewhat unsteady, this toy was one of the louder vibrators I’ve used. It’s not as loud as a wand, but it’s noisier than many of my other hand-held toys. When I tested the decibels, they ranged from 52 to 68.
Build Quality and Dimensions
This toy is the standard size compared with many hand-held vibrators. The handle is long enough that you won’t have to reach too far, and the buttons are located handily near the top of the wand.
Ease of Use
The Hot Octopuss PULSE QUEEN gets 10/10 for ease of use. It’s waterproof, so cleaning it will be a cinch, and you can use it where you please. There are only three buttons: the on/off button that takes you through the rhythms and the increase and decrease intensity buttons. Charging it is straightforward. There’s no app to use or learning curve on this device!
Versatility
The PULSE is not the queen of versatility. If you don’t love clitoral stimulation, this may not capture your attention. While its waterproof gives it a little versatility, the device doesn’t have much more beyond that.

Minor Issues I Found During Testing
The standout issue is that the motor stalls when you put pressure on the vibrating bump. The PulsePlate Technology needs a few kinks to be worked out before this vibrator replaces the long-standing wands.
