Hot Octopuss has sex toys that cater to men, women, trans and queer folks, seniors, couples, and the BDSM crowd. I’m a big fan of how the brand makes sex toys accessible to as many people as possible. Hot Octopuss is undoubtedly a brand that strives for inclusivity. So, I was immediately interested in giving their new vibrator Kurve a try. Follow along to see how it performs!
I loved testing the Kurve. It solved many problems of other toys, like being too buzzy or too rumbly. Most people will find a setting they love, and I can see it becoming one of the most used devices in my nightstand.
Who Should Try It? Anyone who likes rumbly one day and buzzy the next will adore this toy. Newbies, especially, can play around with it whether they like buzzy or rumbly. It’s also pretty versatile overall since it works for G-spot stimulation and external clitoral stimulation, thanks to the two motors.
Who Can Skip It? If you want internal and external stimulation at the same time, you’ll want to buy a rabbit vibrator like Lelo Soraya Wave instead.

What Is The Hot Octopuss Kurve?
Hot Octopuss Kurve is a G-spot vibrator with a twist: they’ve added treble and bass to the mix. Treble for the buzzy vibrations many people love, and bass for the rumbly, deep sensations others crave. If this vibe does both, it may be the only toy that vulva-havers need in their nightstand. The Kurve makes several big claims, specifically that “the mystery of the G spot is solved.” If true, a lot of women are going to be singing its praises. So, now that you’re as curious as I was about this new toy, let’s jump into the Hot Octopuss Kurve review.
First Impressions & Features
Kurve features at a glance:
- Material: Premium silicone body and ABS plastic handle
- Size: 7.6 x 3.2 x 1.6 inches
- Color: Plum
- Mechanism: Internal and external vibration
- Weight: 0.42 lbs
Packaging
The Kurve comes in a shiny cardboard box with information about the dual-motor technology. It’s an attractive package but not overly luxurious.
Inside is the sex toy, a storage bag (yay!), a charging cord, and two sheets of instructions. The shiny black sheet offers some visuals for operating the toy and which kind of rhythms you can play with. The white sheet gives info on the warranty and specs.
Material
The Kurve is made from skin-safe silicone and has a soft gel tip contoured to help you locate and enjoy your G spot.
Dimensions
This toy is medium to larger sized. After all, it needs the space to hold two motors, which give those treble and bass vibes.
Design
The body is elegant and comes in purple, which is, in my opinion, far preferable to neon anything. Since it’s made with waterproof materials, you can take this toy in the shower or bath.
Battery Life and Charging
The device is USB rechargeable, and you poke the cable into the charging hole after plugging it in.
The manual said it takes two hours to charge and lasts two hours, which isn’t the most impressive charge time-to-use ratio. When I tried out the battery life on the lowest setting, it lasted six hours and forty-four minutes, so the manual must have used the highest settings when testing it. And it took two hours and ten minutes to charge.
Warranty and Support
The Hot Octopuss Kurve comes with a one-year warranty.
Cleaning
From the many buttons to the seam between the handle and the silicone-encased motors to the intricate raised crown Hot Octopuss logo, this toy doesn’t quite qualify as easy to clean. To get it thoroughly sanitized, I’d go in with a toothpick. So, keep that in mind if you hate cleaning vibrators.
For general cleaning, the Hot Octopuss website recommends cleaning with warm soap and water, a sex-toy cleaner, or even alcohol.
How To Use Hot Octopuss Kurve?
Grab some water-based lube, keep the manual nearby so you remember how the buttons work, and get started. You can insert the squishy tip inside and twist it around until you find the optimal spot, or you can place it on your clit to use it externally. Then, try out the patented dual motor treble and bass technology and five different patterns to see what suits you.
Confession: I didn’t read the manual before I started pushing buttons. I’ve used enough vibrators that I can usually figure out which controls operate what at first glance. However, this toy stumped me. There’s a bit of a learning curve—pun intended.
There are six buttons: a plus, a minus, and a circle under each label of “treble” and “bass.” I thought the circular button would be the on/off switch for each function, but I was wrong.
- To turn the treble vibrations on, press the plus under treble (on the left-hand side) and hold for a moment.
- The same goes for the bass (which is on the right-hand side).
If you’ve ever played the piano, you may find it disorienting to see bass on the right and treble on the left. But if you flip it over for internal use, the treble and bass will match their musically correct hands.
- After you turn on either function, the plus button will increase the intensity.
- To turn the separate functions off, press the minus button and hold for two seconds.
- To turn everything off, press the circular button under the treble label for two seconds.
- The circular button under “bass” will cycle you through the five different rhythm patterns.
I’ll be honest: this is a lot to remember when masturbating. And good luck if someone walks in on you because it’s going to be next to impossible to figure out how to turn it off quickly. Unless rifling through an instruction manual makes you climax, you’ll find this toy’s controls a bit over-complicated.

My Personal Experience
Ease Of Use
When I first tried the Kurve, I found the buttons perplexing. Having a different on and off button for each function takes some getting used to. Yet, the vibe’s contours make it super easy to find your G spot, a helpful feature for folks who haven’t purchased sex toys before.
Stimulations
The deep rumbly vibrations are quite powerful—the only thing that competes with them is my wand which you have to plug into the wall, or the Motorbunny Buck, which is probably the most powerful toy I’ll ever try.
This toy hits the sweet spot of powerful and rechargeable, which is nice since you don’t have to find a comfy place next to the wall. So, as far as powerful rumbly vibes go, this is a winner. Plus, the noise level is rather low for as powerful as it is.
Settings
Hot Octopuss markets this toy as having “unlimited customization,” and that’s nearly true between the treble, bass, intensities, and patterns. I tried just about every combination I could think of, and at the highest intensities, the vibrations were overwhelming for me, but people interested in powerful vibrations will love it.
The lower settings were perfect. But no matter what type of vibrations you like, between the two motors, you can likely create a sensation that will make it easy to reach orgasm.
Versatility
I also tried the Kurve externally, which wasn’t quite as effective. I started with the piercing treble turned up, and the vibrations were the perfect frequency. Then I tried the bass vibrations. The motor for the bass vibrations is a bit further down the shaft, so it’s hard to get their full effect. The super squidgy soft tip kind of mutes the deep bass power, so the overall sensation isn’t as strong when used internally.

Hot Octopuss AMO
Hot Octopuss sells another vibrator meant for vulvas called the AMO. The Hot Octopuss AMO is contoured to offer both pinpoint and broad clitoral stimulation, and at $49.95, it’s much cheaper than the Kurve.
However, the AMO is a waterproof bullet vibe meant for external use, so if you’re looking for a powerful G spot vibrator, you’ll want to invest in the Kurve. You can read my Hot Octopuss Amo review here.
Many other vibrators are comparable to this one, though the treble and bass setup is unique to Hot Octopuss.
Lelo Mona 2
One option to try is the Lelo Mona 2. The Lelo Mona 2 has more elegant packaging, but I think the Kurve wins as far as attractive devices go. The Lelo has a firmer tip, which might make clitoral stimulation easier. Both are waterproof and not incredibly easy to clean.
The Mona has a travel lock and a four-hour battery life, which gives it a leg up on the Kurve, but the Mona is more expensive at $159.99.
Dame Arc
Next is the Dame Arc, a contoured internal vibrator that doubles as a clitoral vibrator. Like the Kurve, it is body-safe and waterproof, but the Dame Arc is easier to clean and cheaper at $115.
The Arc also has three buttons which are far easier to operate than the setup on the Kurve. The Arc only has five patterns and five intensities, though, so if you want more versatility, then the Kurve is the sex toy for you. You can read our review of Dame Arc here.
