Dame Pom Review 2024: A Few Things You NEED To Know!

Dame Pom laying on a bathroom sink
Curious about the orgasm gap? Dame includes dismal statistics on their About Us page from a study where 23% of women described sex as not pleasurable, and only 39% say that they usually or always orgasm during sex. So, when I had the opportunity to test their Dame Pom, I was super excited. I’ve loved all the Dame products I’ve tried so far, and I was hoping I would be smitten with the Dame Pom, too.

Key Takeaways
4.6 out of 5 stars

I am a big fan of all the Dame toys I’ve tried, but I think Dame Pom will be one of the most-used devices in my drawer, mainly because of its shape. It’s also reliable, far more powerful than a bullet vibrator at its highest intensity, and it has everything you need: a storage bag, waterproof capacity, and plenty of power!

Who Should Try It? Dame Pom is great for anyone who loves clit stimulation because it can deliver rumbly vibrations at its highest intensity.

Who Can Skip It? Anyone who needs internal or G-spot stimulation should probably skip this one. For those, I recommend buying Lelo Soraya Wave instead.

What Is Dame Pom?

Flexible and adorable, the Dame Pom is a vibrator meant for everyday masturbation as it fits nicely in the palm of your hand. Its design makes it easy to use for pinpoint or broad stimulation (as does its shape), meaning that it can deliver orgasms to almost any clit shape. In addition, it has five intensities and five patterns to play with and claims to be darn near whisper-quiet.

Since Dame always seems to know precisely what a vulva wants, I was dying to start researching this Dame Pom review, or Pom reading, if you will. Let’s get started, shall we?

Packaging

If you’ve read my reviews of Dame Fin and Dame Eva II, you know I’m a big fan of the company and its uncomplicated packaging materials. Dame vibes come in an unassuming cardboard box with no-nonsense materials. These products are for sensible people, not sinful women throwing caution to the wind for a moment of pleasure.

This is what masturbation looks like when it’s normalized.

Material

The Pom is made out of medical-grade silicone and is oh-so touchable. This is one of those vibrators you won’t want to put down.

Dimensions

It’s one of the smaller vibrators I’ve used, but it’s not tiny. It’s just over 3” by 2”, so you can bring this vibe in your purse.

Body

At first glance, the Pom looks like a little bird. The bird has a beak (great for pinpoint clit stimulation) and a soft shape (perfect for broader sensation). It’s roughly palm-sized so it’s easy to fit it in the palm of your hand.

The vibe charging

Battery Life and Charging

The Dame Pom comes with a magnetic USB charging cable, which is the easiest way to charge a vibrator. The manual says it takes two hours to fully charge and lasts one hour on the highest setting. That’s not an ideal ratio, but I was hopeful that it signified a powerful motor.

When I tested it on the lowest setting, it lasted 6 hours and 41 minutes. On the highest setting, it lasted for 1 hour and 47 minutes. And it took two hours and fifteen minutes to fully charge.

Warranty and Support

All Dame Products’ products have a three-year warranty against defective materials or workmanship.

Cleaning

The instruction manual suggests cleaning the Dame Pom with warm soap and water or a water-based cleaning agent.

This toy is waterproof and doesn’t have ornate details, so it’s a cinch to clean.

How To Use Dame Pom?

After you charge the Dame Pom, grab some water-based lube and get started. Try it faced forward or backward to see if you prefer pinpoint or broad stimulation.

Testing the vibe in water

The Dame Pom only has a couple of buttons, but it still manages to be intuitive to use:

  1. If we imagine that the Pom is a bird with a beak, the bird’s backside is the on and off button when you hold it for a moment or two. If you press this button quickly after turning it on, you’ll cycle through the patterns.
  2. The long, curved button on the front increases the intensity (when you press the raised circle) and decreases when you press the other side.

You can read more on how to use a clit vibrator in this article.

My Personal Experience

I tried the Dame Pom every way I could—alone, with a partner, in a bed, in the tub. And it succeeded on every front. I had to think for a long time before I came up with a compelling list for the “cons” section of this review—that’s how much I loved it.

Dame makes quality toys, so while this vibrator doesn’t fall into the budget category, I think it’s well worth the expense.

Design

The body is soft and flexible enough to easily use on your vulva during partnered play for extra pleasure. It’s easy to hold in missionary or spooning positions.

I like to switch between pinpoint and broad stimulation, so this toy was essentially made for me. It’s the perfect shape. However, I’m sensitive, so people who need power will probably want to stick with something wand-like.

Stimulations

For such a small toy, the Dame Pom does have a formidable motor. It’s the perfect blend of silky silicone plus a firm but flexible structure. When vibrators are too soft, they can dull the vibrations.

I found that the Dame Pom’s vibrations barely crossed into the rumbly territory, and they were more than intense enough for me. The lower intensities were not so buzzy that I felt numb, and the soft pinpoint beak was amazing, perfect for putting pressure on the right spot.

I tried all five intensities, and none were unpleasantly overwhelming, but they all packed plenty of power.

Ease of Use

The buttons are easy to push—perhaps too easy to push. There are two button locations, one on the front and one on the back. When I held the toy naturally to turn it on, I couldn’t, and I think that’s because I was pressing both buttons.

So if the buttons seem finicky, hold the Pom by its side so that you don’t accidentally press them both at once.

Sound Level

On the lower settings, it is quiet. But on the higher settings, it’s noticeable though it’s not louder than many vibrators I’ve tried.

Accessories

I also tried the Pom with Dame’s signature lube called Alu. It was my first time trying aloe vera-based lube, and I’m a huge fan. It stayed slippery a tad longer than my water-based lube and felt incredibly silky. However, while Alu is compatible with silicone-based devices and latex condoms, it won’t work with polyurethane condoms.

Overall Rating4.6 out of 5 stars

Not surprisingly, I love this thing. I am a fan of all the Dame Products sex toys I’ve tried so far, but I think the Dame Pom will be one of the most-used devices in my drawer, particularly because of its shape.

Dame Pom is perfect as a no-frills, Monday-through-Friday vibrator that always does the trick. It’s reliable, far more powerful than a bullet vibrator at its highest intensity, and it has everything you need: a storage bag, waterproof capacity, and plenty of power.

  • Easy to clean
  • Easy to operate
  • Versatile, perfect for making any vulva happy
  • Moderately priced at $95

Who Should Try It

The Dame Pom is great for anyone who loves clitoral stimulation since it can deliver rumbly vibrations at its highest intensity.

Who Can Skip This Sex Toy

Anyone who needs G-spot stimulation will want to skip this.

How It Stacks Up Against Other Dame Products

Dame Arc

If you prefer internal stimulation and G-spot fun, you might want to try Dame’s Arc. It costs $115, so it’s more expensive, but its vibrations are intense. You can read our review of the Dame G-spot vibrator here.

Dame Arc

Dame Fin

Next, the Dame Fin is a finger vibe great for use with a partner or alone. At $85, it’s slightly cheaper than the Pom, but you will find the vibrations considerably less powerful.

Dame Kip

The Dame Kip is a lipstick vibrator ideal for traveling. It costs just $75 and is perfect for people who love pinpoint clitoral stimulation.

Plus, it earned “most ergonomic” in our comparison of the best bullet vibrators.

Dame Aer

Lastly, the Dame Aer is a touch-free air-pulse clit stimulator that doesn’t use vibrations. It costs $95 and is excellent for folks who love the feeling of suction.

Are There Any Other Good Alternatives?

We-Vibe Touch X

The We-Vibe Touch X is a similar vibrator. It retails for $99, so they are similarly priced.

A wet We-Vibe Touch X laying on a bathtub

Both are rechargeable and waterproof, but the Touch X has a light that will give you a heads-up when the battery is low. That said, the Touch X only has a two-year warranty and a magnetic charger.

Tenga Iroha Midori

The Tenga Iroha Midori is a device with the same idea as the Pom. The price is $90, but it’s tougher to clean (due to the buttons) and isn’t waterproof—just splashproof. Then again, it’s much softer.

People who prefer pinpoint stimulation will want to grab the Pom, though, because the pinpoint stimulation isn’t as precise with Iroha Midori.

Zalo Jeanne

Lastly is the Zalo Jeanne. The Zalo wins the style award, as it is a Versailles-inspired vibrator, and its packaging would be well-suited for a runway.

However, there’s one big difference: Jeanne isn’t as powerful as Pom. It’s not even close. It does boast a lower price at only $79.99.
