Dame Fin Review 2024: A Few Things You NEED To Know!

Fin Finger vibrator from Dame Products
For many women, penetrative sex just doesn’t cut it. So, having finger vibrators on hand that your partner could wear (even if you’re not hetero) could heat things up in the bedroom and even increase desire, and I was excited to see if it could. Knowing this, I was excited to start testing my Dame Fin!

Key Takeaways
4.3 out of 5 stars

Overall, I think Fin is an excellent finger vibrator. It was expensive but delivered on all important fronts. The vibrations were a bit on the buzzier side, but I’m a fan of all vibration types, so I didn’t mind.

Who Should Try It? If you love clitoral stimulation and don’t need a G-spot vibrator at the same time, this is an amazing toy. The Fin is the perfect traveling companion for jet-setters and an ideal option for people with mobility issues.

Who Can Skip It? People who need internal stimulation will need to use their fingers or a second toy. In addition, if you like rumblier vibrations, you need to buy a wand vibrator, such as Magic Wand Mini or Dame Com.

You Can Buy It on the official Dame.com website for $85.

What Is Dame Fin?

The Fin is a finger vibrator from Dame Products. You wear it on your finger to create extra pleasure, not to replace what your partner usually does. The vibration was designed to enhance couples’ foreplay, and we need more sex toys that do just that.

The product and the box

Okay, before we start the review, I have many fin puns I need to get off my chest, so bear with me. Will the Fin help you fin-ish? Is it worthy of all the fin-fare? Will it turn your fin-tasies into reality? Okay, I’m finished. Sorry about all that.

First Impressions & Features

The Fin features at a glance:

  • Material: Medical-grade silicone
  • Length: 2.75” L (with strap), 1” diameter
  • Color: It comes in two colors: jade or navy
  • Mechanism: Finger vibrations for solo or partnered play

The packaging from different angles

Packaging

The Fin packaging was simple, but I have to say: I’m a fan. All Dame product boxes are pretty straightforward, and the package makes me think the product designer had the idea to combine Scandinavian and 1980s drugstore vibes. That’s my best guess. I know it doesn’t sound like the highest of praise, but I dig it. If you spend $85 on a toy, which is what this one costs, you would expect this quality of packaging.

Dame Fin with the content of the box

The Fin came with a charging cable, a manual, a storage bag, and a sticker with their logo, which is like an emoji orgasm face. Everything about this sex toy is adorable, not fancy, but I think it is commensurate with the price point.

Material

The material is super soft between your fingers. Whether you wear it or your partner does, it’s super comfy to touch. Since it’s a silicone toy, don’t use silicone lube. Try water-based lube instead.

The body showing the control button and the charging port

Another critical note: this sex toy isn’t waterproof. How ironic that something named after the part of a fish’s body can’t swim. Anyway, it’s splashproof, but don’t plan to bring this guy in the tub because you cannot submerge it.

The storage bag is satin, so you should hand wash it when necessary.

Dimensions

This little toy is tiny, just 2.75” with the strap and 1” in diameter. That means it’s a perfect fit for your purse, suitcase, or even your partner’s pocket—make sure to wash it before use!

Design

The body of the Fin is small, and I was a little concerned that the finger grooves would be too small for people with larger fingers. Luckily, that wasn’t the case. Since you wear it between two fingers, the fit isn’t an issue. The body is asymmetrical, so you feel a different sensation depending on how you wear it.

It has a point-shaped nose on the front, so you can easily find the exact spot you want on your body to reach orgasm. (Watch the unboxing video to get a better idea of how it looks!) That small, soft point is suitable for people who love pinpoint stimulation on vibrators. If you prefer broader stimulation, use it upside down to try the other side.

Dame Fin with the charging cable connected

It comes in a couple of colors, jade, and navy, which are a nice diversion from the typical toy colors.

It also has a strap or tether worn around two fingers, but it is removable. I don’t think I would use the strap on my own, but if you were dealing with a lot of lube, it might be handy for stabilization. It would also be helpful for anyone who has trouble gripping a sex toy for very long.

Battery Life and Charging

The Fin is USB rechargeable—you plug it into your wall adapter. To charge the Fin, gently puncture the little hole with the USB cable. I have to admit. The charger is more fiddly than some other toys in my reviews. You really have to jam it in there so the light turns on. So if it doesn’t work right away, keep trying.

The charge time is supposed to take around 2.5 hours. When I charged it, it took just over two. I also let the little Fin run on the lowest setting to see how long it lasted. The user manual said it would last up to five hours on the low setting or 75 minutes on high. When I tested it, it lasted well past five hours on low, which was super impressive. In fact, the low battery light didn’t even turn on after five hours. At a certain point, I was concerned that I would die before this device. In other reviews of sex toys, I’ve found that the battery life is usually listed very optimistically. Not so with this toy. It lasted for six hours and thirteen minutes on the lowest setting.

Another handy feature: when the battery is low, Fin’s LED light will blink red. I love that feature because there’s nothing more frustrating than getting started with a vibrator that will let you down. Then you have to get to know a whole new sex toy. But that won’t happen with Fin since you can watch out for the low-battery signal.

Warranty and Support

All Dame products come with a 3-year warranty for product defects. That’s longer than a lot of other products.

Cleaning

Fin is easy to clean. And you wash it with anti-bacterial soap and warm water or an anti-bacterial sex toy cleaner. Skip any cleaning products that have alcohol, petroleum, or acetone.

The simplicity of the user manual’s design meant that it was woefully short (and it can be found on their site, too). But it did have one fun cleaning suggestion: “Do not boil, bake, microwave, or run through the dishwasher.” To that, I would add: don’t grill it, sauté it, add it to soup, or eat it raw, like sex toy sushi. Yes, some sex toys can be cooked in specific ways for cleaning purposes, depending on their materials. But not little Fin.

How To Use Dame Fin?

After you charge the Fin, grab some water-based lube, slip the tether around your fingertips (if using), and press the button until you find a setting you like.

Pro Tip: The company made it asymmetrically shaped (again, check out the unboxing video to see what I mean), so if you don’t like its position against you, flip it to one side and see if that works better. It gives you complete control over what type of stimulation you can expect.

The controls on this sex toy are intuitive and simple. It has one button.

  1. You push it to turn it on, defaulting to the lowest setting.
  2. Push again for medium and once more for the highest setting.
  3. Holding the button down will turn it off at any time, which is convenient for anyone trying to keep their sexual pleasure discreet.

There aren’t a lot of fancy settings—it only has three levels of intensity—but I liked how straightforward it is.

Plus, if you’re having partnered sex, you probably don’t want to cycle through 11 settings, wonder which one you like the best and then ask them to go back to the third setting since that one seemed like a contender.

That kind of complexity isn’t always fun during sex.

Another thoughtful touch that the makers of Dame added to this vibrator is a travel mode. If you hold the button down for ten seconds, the LED will blink. Wait for the light to turn red; after that, it can’t accidentally turn on. So, if you’re in the car with your mom and the button gets nudged, she won’t wonder why your purse is vibrating. To turn off travel mode, plug in Fin.

My Personal Experience

Ease Of Use

When I tried the Fin, I used a few different positions before finding the one I liked. I also tried the Fin on my own and with another participant.

If you’re planning to use it by yourself, and need internal stimulation too, keep in mind that it’s a two-hand job. It also works well with a companion.

If you use it during penetrative sex, some positions work better than others. Missionary can land you with a bent wrist situation, but spooning was very comfortable for both parties. So, play around until you find something that feels natural.

Stimulations & Sound Level

The vibrations are a bit on the buzzy side, but I’m a fan of any and all types of vibration, so I didn’t mind. The noise level was slightly loud for such a tiny vibe, but it wasn’t obnoxious. Just a bit loud.

Review Summary

Stimulation4.6 out of 5 stars
Features4 out of 5 stars
Cleanup4.8 out of 5 stars
Price3.9 out of 5 stars
Overall Rating4.3 out of 5 stars

Overall, I think Fin is an excellent toy. It’s expensive, but it can deliver on all the important fronts. I think it deserves the hype it has gotten from the media, and Dame has received a lot of good media for their company.

Pros

  • Long battery life
  • It comes with a storage bag
  • Easy to wear
  • A great enhancement for couples’ foreplay and sex lives
  • Perfect for travel
  • Great vibration for your clitoris
  • You can use it on more than one erogenous zone (inner thighs, nipples, etc.)

Cons

  • Not waterproof (splashproof)
  • The noise level is slightly high

Who Should Try the Dame Fin

If you love clitoral stimulation and don’t need a G-spot vibrator at the same time, this is an amazing toy. The Fin is the perfect traveling companion for jet-setters and an ideal addition to a couple’s nightstand for added sensation.

Who Can Skip It

People who need internal stimulation will need to use their fingers (or their partner’s fingers or another toy) to find Fin pleasurable, so it may not be ideal. (If this is you, check out one of my latest posts reviewing the Lelo Enigma, which can do both!)

Further, since the vibration is more buzzy than rumbly, people who prefer deep, intense vibrations will need to skip this toy. Anyone who primarily uses sex toys in the bathtub will also want to find a different toy.

How Fin Stacks Up Against Other Dame Toys

Dame Products has a few sex toys that could compete with Fin. One of the most popular Dame toys is the Eva, a wearable vibrator. It retails for $135, so it’s quite a bit more expensive.

Dame Eva II

The Eva has wings that fit inside your labia so you don’t have to hold it. It stays in place during sex (not just foreplay!) and is hands-free. So the Eva would be a better choice if you want to use a dildo alongside it. See my Eva vibrator review here.

The Dame Pom is a vibrator meant for solo play, and it’s more expensive than the Fin at $95. Since it’s a bit larger than the Fin, it’s not as easy to incorporate during partnered play, but it also has a larger motor.

Dame Pom lying on a bathroom sink

The motor has rumbly, powerful vibrations and five different settings rather than three speeds. So, if you’re using this toy mainly for solo play, the Pom vibrator might be the better choice.

Are There Any Good Alternatives?

The Palma by Unbound is a ring vibrator that costs $68 and comes in silver or gold. If you want a conversation piece, the Palma is the clear winner here. You can choose your ring size, and it has three intensities. It also has a cool feature called tilt mode, where the angle of your hand determines the intensity. It’s a large ring, so don’t plan on something subtle to add to your jewelry collection. The upside is it’s waterproof. On the other hand, it only lasts an hour and will definitely not be as silky soft as the Fin.

DiGiT by Hot Octopuss is another ring vibrator that costs $69. It is reasonably large, so it wouldn’t be easy to wear. It also doesn’t look like a piece of jewelry the way that Palma does. However, the DiGiT is made out of silicone, but it only lasts 40 minutes and takes two hours to charge.

Hot Octopuss Digit

You can read our Hot Octopuss DiGiT review here.

The Spunky Bunny by VeDO wins on the budget front: this finger toy costs only $54. However, it’s splashproof rather than waterproof and lasts one hour. It is made of silicone, but its shape might not necessarily fit all fingers since you must insert your finger through a stretchy but non-adjustable hole.
