Societal expectations, gender dysphoria, and the effects of gender-affirming procedures are common sexual difficulties transmasculine (female-to-male) individuals face. Connecting with their bodies during sexual activities can be problematic because of the unease of the mismatch between their biological sex and gender identity. FTM sex toys help people assigned female at birth (AFAB) explore and affirm their sexuality and gender identity. Unlike regular toys, these are designed with dysphoria-reduction and trans-specific anatomy in mind, thus enhancing comfort and the spirit of exploration.
LELO SILA Cruise was the best FTM sex toy in our 3 months of testing, outperforming the competition in all dimensions. Everything from the gentler vibrations to the slow build-up promotes longer edging sessions, making the experience friendlier for transmasculine persons. Our testers loved the wider mouth because it made SILA fit the slightly larger clitoris of trans men. The overall design was excellent and non-threatening, making it perfect for people who are new to adult toys. In addition, the sonic pulses were gentler, making it ideal for those seeking a calming introduction to FTM toys.
Test Winner: LELO SILA Cruise

Versatile: We-Vibe Wand 2

For this article, she worked with other sex experts like Sandra Larson and Shane Davis to come up with a comprehensive list of the best FTM sex toys. Combining the experience of over 300+ sex toy reviews and extensive research on the topic, the team researched what makes a good FTM toy, often interviewing trans men. This way, the team was able to match our readers with the best possible products.

How We Picked the Products
Once Sandra Larson and the sex experts (Sandra Larson and Shane Davis) reviewed previous FTM sex toy articles and researched new products that have made a name for themselves in the sex industry, we compiled a list of over 18 review samples. The experts highlighted some of the motivating factors to guide the selection criteria. These included the following:
- Design. A great FTM sex toy must be designed with transmasculine people in mind. Despite the power or associated features, the design language must be gender-affirming, helping those who feel disenfranchised by society have as much fun as everyone else. For this reason, we prioritized models with non-phallic shapes, wider surface area to fit the larger clitoris of trans men, and an ergonomic design to enhance the user experience.
- Stimulation: Like other pleasure products, we looked for products with more pleasure options so trans men can have a wide range of possibilities to choose from. More importantly, we awarded products with gentler forms of stimulation, like sonic waves, more points because beginners will find traditional vibrations a bit overwhelming.
- Unique Features: Our testers also paid attention to unique features that helped transmasculine people and beginners enjoy the experience. Everything from Cruise Control to Smart Silence, and separate motor control, no stone was left unturned. Other features included a waterproof design for more possibilities and mobile control for long-distance control.
- Versatility: Everyone loves a product that can do more than one thing. Well, trans men are no different, and the team was focused on getting devices that offer the best value for money. For instance, we prioritized dual-stimulation sex toys over regular one-dimensional picks. We also added models that offered impressive dynamism, including long-distance control, multiple sensation forms, and toy-to-toy interactivity.
- Build Quality: Besides picking models with gender-affirming designs, we also looked into the quality of materials and level of craftsmanship. We dismissed everything made from cheap and hazardous materials like rubber and jelly, only reviewing those made from hypoallergenic materials like silicone, TPE, and ABS plastic. The degree of artistry was also considered, ensuring all the models we picked had outstanding tweaks designed to enhance the user experience.
- Power & Battery Life: All the motorized FTM toys we tested for the article used rechargeable batteries. Besides being more environmentally friendly, these batteries are more affordable in the long run because all you need is to charge for a few minutes before use. We also looked into the battery life, ensuring the best picks had a positive rating: more play time than charging time. After all, no one wants to charge a sex toy for five hours only for it to run out in minutes.
- Handling: The user experience depends on multiple factors, including the design, dimensions, and material. For this reason, we paid attention to the design language, ensuring longer handles and correct button placement for wearable toys. We also prioritized models with mobile control, including remote control and dedicated mobile apps.
- Price: Lastly, the price came into question before we picked the best options. We ensured to pick different sex toys across the pricing spectrum to ensure everyone, regardless of their budget, gets something exciting. From the affordable clit stimulators to the more expensive dual-stimulation models, we looked for everything.
After what was an extensive 90-day testing period, the sex experts went back for deliberation, comparing notes and interviews to pick similarities and investigate the differences. Ultimately, Rachel Sommer and the team compiled the list of the highest-rated FTM sex toys, including great alternatives, so our transmasculine readers were spoiled for choice.
1. LELO Sila Cruise: Our Overall Test Winner!
Why we love LELO Sila Cruise:
LELO Sila Cruise outperformed the rest of the FTM sex toys we tested, thanks to its large mouth (image below) that fit cozily over the larger clitoris on trans men. Unlike other models we tested, the silicone nozzle was larger, offering more surface area to cover the entire clitoris. This way, the sonic waves are spread more evenly, so you can build up to intense orgasms. More importantly, the silicone mouth is not removable, providing a more secure connection and intense stimulation.
The design was a highlight of the review, with our testers pointing out how the coiled snake build helped make it less intimidating for the uninitiated. It moved away from the cliché phallic shape that transmasculine people may find unfriendly. The body was mostly made from squishy silicone material, giving it a grippy finish that simplified handling. In addition, the compact and relatively lightweight body made the suction toy ideal for extended use.
LELO Sila’s unique sonic stimulation makes it more than a suction toy. The sonic waves felt like gentle pulses of energy that were impactful but not overwhelming. This way, trans men can enjoy extended sessions of pleasure without feeling numb. Whether you just transitioned or have been exploring clit toys for a while, the well-measured suction waves offer a way to enjoy self-pleasuring without feeling uncomfortable. The best part about it? The simplistic 3-button interface (image below) made cycling through the eight suction settings easy.
The team also highlighted the unique features that made SILA Cruise stand out. “Jessica and I loved the Cruise Control technology because it delivered a power surge when the silicone mouth was pressed against the clitoris,” says Rachel Sommer. “Unlike other models that tend to lose steam when you need them the most, Cruise maintains the intensity even when you push it against the skin as you orgasm.”
LELO Sila’s build quality was rated as above average. Like other LELO products we have reviewed over the years, our testers loved how the designers balanced body safety and softness without forgetting to make it look luxurious. The body-safe silicone felt immaculate, and its waterproof design helped simplify cleaning and open your world to endless possibilities. You can use it in the shower or bath to make things more tantalizing.
How about using versatility? Well, the team appreciated Sila’s unique design because it was sculpted to accommodate different body shapes and sizes. Its wide mouth provides dynamism because you can use the edges to target specific spots on the clit or the entire rim to cover more surface area. In addition, the Cruise Control technology lets you enjoy the intense vibrations even when the model is pressed against the skin (when you’re about to orgasm). And with the waterproof design, cleaning, and aquatic fun are straightforward.
Lastly, we tested the noise level, ranging between 56.8 dB and 61.8 dB, impressive figures for the sonic clit stimulator. The 40-50 decibel mark is considered quiet, while 60 decibels is in the levels of an air conditioner or a typical conversation, so nothing crazy.
Minor issues we found during testing:
The more experienced folks looking for stronger vibrations and a quick orgasm might be disappointed by the underwhelming gentle sensations.
In addition, SILA Cruise is a bit expensive for budget seekers. Its cost ranges between $151 and $199, making it pricier than most clit vibrators.

- Phenomenal build quality.
- Super Cruise Control technology.
- The sonic pulses are ideal for the uninitiated.
Cons:
- It’s not ideal for experienced folks seeking intense suction.
- The model is pricey – $151 – $199.
2. We-Vibe Wand 2: Most Versatile!
Why we love We-Vibe Wand 2:
If you enjoy the raw and animalistic approach of wand vibrators but can’t keep up with the corded design, the We-Vibe Wand is your best bet. The versatile piece outdid the competition with its impressive cordless design, app compatibility, and waterproofness. Some reviewers even joked that it was so very powerful that the person next to you could get off from the vibrations.
Among the wand vibrators we reviewed, the Wand 2 was the most dynamic. Its 5-button interface (image below) and mobile app compatibility offered multiple ways to regulate the sensations. We especially loved how the mobile app offered incredible options to create your own rhythms and customize the experience for maximum enjoyment. You can use the piece with a long-distance lover or your live-in partner. In addition, the overall compact size was an upgrade from the often-oversized wand vibrators, making it the perfect travel partner.
The only place the piece loses versatility points is in size. It’s a bit heavier on the hands, and people with limited mobility and weaker hands won’t love it. In addition, using it during partnered sex was a bit challenging in some positions because the handle got in the way.
We-Vibe Wand 2’s design was another highlight of the review. We loved how flexible it felt because the neck was easy to manipulate to target specific spots on the clitoris. The team was initially concerned the flexibility would affect the intensity when pressed against the clit, but that didn’t happen: Wand 2 held its shape even under the most intense pressure.
You can clearly see that the device was made by someone who masturbates often with vibrating wands. Its buttons are well-spaced and positioned, with the plus button on top of the sex toy, which is the most intuitive place. In addition, the two arrows help wind through the patterns, making it easier to run back if you accidentally go past a favorite.
Our only concern with the design was the rounded head. Unfortunately, it won’t work well for people seeking pinpoint sensations. In addition, we couldn’t find any compatible attachments, which is a significant difference between Wand 2 and its predecessor.
The sensations were on the rumbly side of the spectrum, making it ideal for most users (not many wand users like buzzy vibrations). Even in the lowest setting, it felt so rumbly, trans men will enjoy the vibrations on the clit. The intensity improved with every setting, and things got a bit buzzy towards the end, explaining the numbing effect after extended use. We recommend hanging on to the lower settings until you’re ready to orgasm because the higher settings will numb the clitoris in no time.
We have used the We-Vibe app (image below) numerous times, which made reviewing the Wand 2 easy. Luckily, the multi-faced platform offered a single vibe tab that lets you move a lever up and down to regulate the intensity. The multi-vibe tab has four quadrants that make it easy to regulate the patterns and intensity levels.
Unfortunately, mobile apps are more effective with smaller and discreet vibrators because you can slip them between bodies for a hands-free experience. The Wand was a bit too big, and you must have one hand holding the handle at all times, which works against the hands-free principle of using a mobile app. However, we loved that it offered more control options, especially for couples who want complete control of the patterns and rhythms.
Long-distance lovers will enjoy the convenience of regulating each other’s sensations from miles away. Notably, you can also sync it with your music playlist so your partner can enjoy the switch in beats as they masturbate. We recommend high-pitched music because it makes the vibrations more intense.
Lastly, the wand’s build quality was impressive. The vibrator was made from body-safe silicone material, enhancing its durability and making cleaning straightforward. You can also take the waterproof toy in the bath or shower for aquatic fun, opening your world to endless possibilities. And with the rechargeable battery, you won’t have to worry about your proximity to the power outlet.
Minor issues we found during testing:
Unfortunately, the vibrations will numb your hands. Even with the extended handle, we were surprised at how quickly the intense rumbles were transferred to the hands, especially in high settings.
Like other wand vibrators, the dimensions make it unsuitable to use during partnered sex. It felt cumbersome in most sex positions and the fact that you can’t use it hands-free was a pain in the ass.
If you want to see what the We-Vibe Wand 2 looks like and how to use it, please watch our unboxing and demonstration video below:
Features:
- Material: Silicone
- Size: 2.2″ x 10.7″
Pros:
- The most versatile wand vibe.
- Impressive design.
- Phenomenal build quality.
- Multiple vibration patterns.
- Customizable We-Vibe app.
- Remarkable two-year warranty.
Cons:
- The vibrations are transferred to the hands.
- It’s pricey – $169.
3. Handheld Tentacle Grinder II: Best Grinder!
Why we love Uncover Creations Handheld Tentacle Grinder II:
Grinder sex toys offer hands-free stimulation, and the low-profile design makes them perfect for transmasculine people and others who benefit from external stimulation. The extended surface area makes it better for trans men because the rugged surface can cover the entire clitoris. In addition, the universal design means you can use it on the floor, bed, or mounted surfaces, making it ideal for different users.
The Tentacle Grinder II fit like a glove, thanks to its well-thought-out design, which included three finger slots that offered a cozy yet stable handling experience. “My husband had big hands, and his three fingers fit perfectly,” our product test lead Sandra Larson wrote in her test report. “I also wanted to test if mine fit, and I was surprised at how plush the connection felt.”
The design didn’t have straps to attach to a pillow or your partner because all you needed were three fingers: yours or your partner’s. Our testers highlighted how the simplistic design made the model perfect for trans men looking for a quick and effective answer to their clitoral stimulation needs. What looks like a simple grinding object transforms your hands into a tentacle ready to explore your wildest fantasies.
Pro Tip: The Grinder II’s slim design means you can slide it between bodies during sex. “Whether in missionary, doggy style, or cowgirl, we found it easy to have it between our bodies, making the sensations more impactful,” says Rachel Sommer. “It almost felt like my partner was playing with the clit, just that she still had two hands free to work on other erogenous zones.”
Something else that stood out during the review was the unique texture, which looked like corals found under the sea. Like fantasy sex toys, your imagination matters the most, and once you place the model onto your hand, you can let fantasy drive you to the dreamland. According to the trans men we interviewed, it felt comforting and emotionally affirming. “Besides the pleasurable feeling of grinding against a squishy yet impactful surface, my partner and I enjoyed the affirming and comforting experience,” says Logan. “The natural body-driven sensations were incredibly satisfying, especially for a couple that enjoys humping motions over penetration.”
Our testers also loved the versatility evident in the finger pouch’s accommodation of vibrating bullets. You can slip in a few bullets inside the pouch and have them buzz from the inside. You’ll need a powerful motor to transfer the sensations through the material, but the humming effect adds to the excitement.
Minor issues we found during testing:
Although the model is made to fit over the fingers so you can enjoy bliss during self-pleasuring, we were a bit disappointed that there were no straps. Grinders are meant to be universal so that you can use them on the floor, bed, pillow, or even a wall.
The model is one of the most complicated grinders to clean. The intricate texture means you have to take more time and care to brush through the textures to dislodge any stuck dust and lube.
If you want to see what the grinder toys look like and how to use them, please watch my unboxing and demonstration video below:
Features:
- Material: Silicone
- Length: 4.4″
- Width: 3.3″
Pros:
- Unique texture amplifies the sensations.
- Impressive design.
- High-quality silicone material.
- Perfect for solo play and partnered play.
- You can pair it with vibrating bullets.
Cons:
- Cleaning is complicated.
- No straps for those looking to hump a pillow.
4. Lovehoney Curved: Best Non-Gendered Dildo!
Why we love Lovehoney Curved:
Transmasculine persons will appreciate Lovehoney Curved’s non-gendered design because it makes it friendlier to the community. Its dysphoria-friendly design moves away from the cliché hyper-realistic veins and testicles, welcoming a straightforward look that doesn’t make trans men uneasy or dissatisfied.
The design was the primary motivation when we were picking the best non-gendered dildo because it swayed away from what is considered a female dildo. Trans men will love the simplistic look that includes a curved shaft, a suction cup base, and a rounded head (image below) to simplify penetration. Its graduating size from the tapered head to the broader base enhanced the user experience while promoting gradual stretching.
Pro Tip: The curved shaft made it easy to strike the gold. Whether exploring the vagina or anal play, we found that it took less effort and hand movements to land on the sweet spots. In addition, the suction cup base was relatively robust, making it easy to stick it to different surfaces for hands-free pleasure.
Besides the non-gendered design, the team was keen to explore the possibilities. Rachel Sommer interviewed trans men for the article, and one thing that stood out was how easy it was to use the dildo, even for first-time users. “I found it easy to slide the cock inside and it only took a few minutes to prepare and lots of lube,” says Luke from New York. “I’ve tried numerous sex toys in the recent past, and none of the penetrative models were as easy to use.”
The graduating size was another highlight of the review. Our testers described how the tapered head made it easy to insert the dildo, and the widening girth made the stretching experience both relatable and intense. Its well-thought-out dimensions were impossible to overlook. Whether you’re using it for vaginal or anal stimulation, the size makes it palatable for trans men or any beginners in the sex industry.
Something else the team highlighted was the build quality. Lovehoney uses high-quality silicone for their dildos, and this was no exception. The team loved how thoughtful the curved shaft and flared base were in enhancing the user experience and safety. Our testers highlighted how the impressive attention to detail made the toy friendlier to trans men who find regular dildos a bit intimidating.
As you can see in the image above, the suction cup base has a small pouch beneath it so you can insert a vibrating bullet and enjoy the renewed vigor. Unfortunately, you can’t use the two simultaneously because the bullet protrudes, affecting the suction feature.
Minor issues we found during testing:
Our primary concern was the inability to make use of the suction cup base and vibrating bullet simultaneously. The bullet protrudes from the end, making it impossible to stick the dildo to a wall or floor.
If you want to see what Lovehoney Curved looks like and how to use it, please watch our unboxing and demonstration video below:
Features:
- Material: Silicone
- Insertable Length: 6″
- Circumference: 4″
Pros:
- Ergonomic design.
- Impressive versatility.
- Phenomenal build quality.
- The material is waterproof.
- Convenient suction cup base.
- It’s compatible with a bullet vibrator.
Cons:
- You can’t use the suction base and bullet vibe simultaneously.
5. Lovense Lapis: Best For Pegging!
Why we love Lovense Lapis:
Probably one of the most exciting yet complicated sexual experiences for trans men, strap-on sex involves consistent practice and Kegel exercises to do it flawlessly. However, the Lovense Lapis seeks to bridge the gap, offering transmasculine people a well-thought-out piece with an innovative design that gives the wearer clitoral stimulation. Its impressive design includes a lighter body, making it easier to use compared to other strapless strap-ons we tested. Other tweaks that made it ideal for transmen included independent motor control, mobile app compatibility, and a powerful motor.
The design was the driving factor when we were researching for the top-performing pegging accessory. The aesthetic and innovative design was more than a coincidence: it sought to make sex toys for trans folks sexier than ever, and who doesn’t want a dildo that makes them feel sexy?
Its design was thoughtful in multiple ways, including making it lighter than regular models so beginners can enjoy the experience without being overwhelmed. The shape included a textured pad over the wearer’s vulva to stimulate their clitoris as they penetrate their partner. In addition, we liked that the internal arm was thicker, and had a knob on the inside for internal gripping. Also, the posable design with a flexible neck made it easy to manipulate the angles so you can carry on for extended periods without feeling uncomfortable.
Other design tweaks we loved included the ON/OFF button placement at the base of the dildo: the only place accessible when the toy is inside two bodies. This way, you can regulate the intensity without the app and without interrupting the rhythm.
The vibrations were largely on the rumbly side, making it ideal for trans men who may find buzzy vibrations uncomfortable. Even at the lower settings, the vibrations felt rumbly, a small but exciting feature for beginners. There were three settings (low, medium, high) and four vibration patterns to explore with the built-in interface, making for an exciting range of sensations.
Its compatibility with the Lovense Remote app was another highlight of the review. The Remote is the best sex toy application ever made, and its user-friendly interface makes it easy to get on board even for first-timers. Besides offering more vibration settings, the app made it easy to be creative, allowing users to create their patterns and save them for later use. You can even sync the sensations with your favorite music for a unique and exciting experience.
Among the cool things we loved about the Lovense Remote app, controlling the motors separately stood out the most. Having three motors was a great development from Lovense, but controlling each was even more special. Whether you want the vibrations on the clitoris to be more intense than the internal vibe, while the wearer enjoys mild clit grinding, you can do whatever you and your partner enjoy at the moment. “Jessica and I always switch the dominant role, and the independent motor control made it easy to customize the sensations to match the dom and sub,” says Rachel Sommer. “It was like having a smart vibrator that caters to you and your partner’s needs flawlessly.
Minor issues we found during testing:
Although there wasn’t much to dislike about the model, our testers faulted the design, suggesting a completely non-phallic design would’ve been better.
Like other strapless strap-ons, you can only go so far with the model. It’s difficult to use for long periods without the PVC muscles getting exhausted.
If you want to see what Lovense Lapis looks like and how to use it, please watch our unboxing and demonstration video below:
Features:
- Material: Silicone
- Insertable Length: 5.43″ & 3.43″ (wearer)

Pros:
- Aesthetic and innovative design.
- The tapered shape simplifies penetration.
- Its posable neck enhances flexibility.
- Impressive build quality.
- Customizable Lovense Remote app.
- One-year warranty against defects.
Cons:
- Lapis is expensive – $129 – $259.
- It takes time and practice to get better.
