Packaging
The Fun Factory vibrator arrived in a nicely designed box, which excited me to open it. The outer packing slid off, revealing a gold box with a red interior. The gold was slightly metallic, and all the colors complemented each other well. And you could tell that a lot of time went into the packing design.
Once I opened the box, it contained the Volta, a bright red magnetic USB charging cord, a user guide (which came equipped with some sexy game instructions for you and your partner), and the booklet with all the toy’s specifications. Unlike many other vibrators, it didn’t come with a storage case.
Material
The Fun Factory Volta is made from body-safe silicone and non-porous plastic to help keep all bacteria at bay. The only part of the toy that should be coming into contact with your body is the vibrating tongues made from silicone.
In addition, the ergonomic handle is made from plastic to keep it sturdy when you need to hold on tight.

Design
My first impression of the body was how significantly different it was from other clitoral vibrators. Its two tapping tips, made to mimic tongues, look almost like a beak. As these tips are made from silicone, they’re extremely flexible, meaning they can fit around a clit, penis, or other body parts. I also liked that the tips move back and forth when vibrating, gaining quite a bit of motion, similar to a tongue.
In addition, the ergonomic handle makes it easy to hold during partnered sex or when things are getting a bit slippery. It also makes it perfect to use in the shower!
Controls
The Volta has a feature that I haven’t seen on any other sex toy, a travel lock! It’s handy if you fly a lot and want to avoid picking up a vibrating bag at the carousel.
The Volta has three buttons on the handle, the fun button and the plus and minus buttons. To unlock the travel lock, press the fun button along with the plus button for half a second. To lock it again, press the fun button along with the minus button for half a second.
Once unlocked, turn on the vibrations by pressing the fun button, then use the plus or minus buttons to cycle through the six different speeds and six vibrational patterns.
Battery Life and Charging
Like most vibrators, it comes precharged out of the box. But that’s where to fun ends, as it takes a mammoth six to eight hours to charge this unusual-looking toy, and this charge only lasts for 40-120 minutes!
So you better make sure you’re putting it on charge, along with your phone at night.
This toy comes with a magnetic USB charging cord which is easy to use, but as the charging magnets are located on the rounded handle of the toy, you need to be careful that you don’t accidentally knock it, as it may detach.
Additionally, the instructions state that the magnetic charger may become damaged by cards with magnetic strips, such as credit cards. So keep the toy well away from your wallet.

How to use Fun Factory Volta?
- Once unboxing the Volta, give it a good clean using soap and warm water to remove any nasties that may have attached themselves during the packing process.
- Then pop it on charge. The instructions say to initially charge the toy for six hours before using it. After this time, you’re ready to explore.
- You’ll need to unlock the travel lock to get going. To do this, simply press the fun button and the plus button and wait for around half a second, and the toy should light up and vibrate for a split second.
- Next, grab some of your favorite water-based lube and lube up the toy and yourself.
- Then press the fun button to turn the toy on and work through the different vibrational patterns until you find something pleasurable.
- If you have a clitoris, you can either use the lips to stroke your clitoral hood or put your clit between each of the Volta’s lips. Or find another way. Your pleasure is in your hands, literally!

My Personal Experience
The Fun Factory Volta looks quite different from your regular external vibrator, and I was extremely curious to see just what it was about.
Ease Of Use
After giving the toy a clean and charging it for an unusually long time, I put the Volta to the test. When I turned it on, I was surprised at just how strong the rumbly motor was and how much it moved the tips! Although the motor was quite powerful, I found it quite loud too, which was slightly disappointing.
While I appreciated the ability to lock the toy for traveling, the addition of the fun button caught me off guard when using it, as I accidentally turned the vibrator off when I was trying to increase the vibration. This is almost as devastating as having a vibrator die on you mid-session.
Stimulations
I decided to put the vibrating tips on my clitoral hood, which was immediately too intense. I worked my way through a few of the lower speeds and still found that it was a little intense for my liking, so I repositioned my clitoris so that it was inside both the tips, meaning I was feeling the vibration on the top and bottom of my clitoris.
This provided a light pressure which was exciting and nearly enough for me to orgasm. I just had to apply a bit more pressure, and then, holy shit! It was awesome!
While the flicking tongues were supposed to mimic oral, I can’t say that they truly felt like the real thing. They were pleasurable and intense and provided the right amount of pressure, but I don’t think anything will come close to the warm, wet, and unpredictable nature of oral sex with a partner.
However, I did like just how much each of the tongues moved, particularly in the different vibrational settings.
