Lovehoney Thrill Seeker Review 2024, Is The Love Egg Any Good?

Lovehoney Thrill Seeker and the remoteLovehoney has an extensive collection of sex toys and is worth checking out, particularly if you’re new to sexual exploration. They have toys for everyone, no matter your gender, orientation, or interest, including a vast selection of egg vibrators which is a great toy if you’re looking to spice up your sex life. I was lucky enough to test one of their love eggs and was keen to see what it could do.

Key Takeaways
3.7 out of 5 stars

Compared to other egg vibrators I tested, Lovehoney Thrill Seeker disappointed me a little. The vibrations were strong, but the middle seam made cleaning challenging, and the weak-looking retrieval string concerned me. In addition, the battery-operated design made it more time-consuming to use than a rechargeable model. However, I believe it can be a decent model for beginners and budget-seekers.

Who Should Try It? Anyone looking to buy an inexpensive vibe, or those new to sex toys, as the low price point makes it perfect for people new to exploring their body. At the time of writing, this vibe is on sale for $23.99, which is relatively cheap.

Who Can Skip It? Those who have already used sex toys or are interested in having a bit more fun with their sex toy game. There are a lot of much better vibes on the market that are only marginally more expensive, so it’d be best to skip this vibe and spend your money on something better, like Lovense Lush 3 or We-Vibe Jive.

First Impressions and Features

Unboxing

Like many Lovehoney toys, particularly those on the cheaper end, the packing was basic, with little thought or attention going into the design. I think this is something the company can improve in future product releases.

My first impression was that it looked basic, and the lack of silicone and seam in the middle worried me due to its susceptibility to bacteria.

The content of the box

The setup was more arduous than rechargeable vibes, as the batteries needed to be added to both the egg and the remote. This took a little while to understand exactly where to put the batteries as the instructions on the egg were a little hard to see. It’s best to read the instructions on the side of the packaging for setup.

However, I was pleasantly surprised by the number of vibrational patterns and the ability to control the intensity of the vibrations on the remote. Further, I could control the vibe using the remote while in the same room, but if you moved further out or to another room, it would intermittently drop out of service.

Material

The Lovehoney site states that the Thrill Seeker is made from “hard plastics” and offers no further information. This is a little concerning, as the sex toy industry is not regulated, and certain plastics are not designed to be used internally in the body. When looking deeper at the Lovehoney website, it’s suggested that they use ABS plastic for their vibrators, but the lack of information on the Thrill Seeker is slightly concerning.

Dimensions

The vibe is similar in size to many other egg vibrators measuring 3 inches long (insertable length) with a circumference of 4.25 inches. The vibe also has a small retrieval string on the bottom of the vibe that measures 3 inches.

Body

The body is similar in size to other egg vibrators. However, as it’s battery controlled, you twist in the middle to open it up to change the batteries. This creates a small seam in the middle of the vibe, which is not ideal as it could potentially harbor bacteria. Therefore, you must be extra careful when washing this vibe, particularly in this area.

The other odd design is that the retrieval handle is made from a thin, string-like piece of malleable metal covered with plastic. This didn’t feel too stable like it could break away from the vibe.

Battery and Charging

Unlike most sex toys, the Thrill Seeker isn’t rechargeable and uses batteries to operate. The vibe uses two AAA batteries, which are included in the box, and the remote uses 1 CR2032 battery, which is also included.

This could be improved, as you will constantly need to buy batteries to keep the devices charged which isn’t environmentally friendly. As the vibe needs batteries to operate, running time will vary depending on the strength of your batteries.

My Personal Experience

Packaging

As stated above, the packaging is basic, reflecting the vibe’s price. Unlike most vibes, the Thrill Seeker didn’t come with a storage bag or a manual. You find the manual on the side of the box, so make sure you don’t throw it away before you set the vibrator up!

The packaging

Design

The vibe’s design is very basic, as the body is made from plastic, unlike the silicone found on most egg vibes. To undo the vibe to change the batteries, you need to unscrew the vibe in the middle, and this seam could cause bacteria to build up if not cleaned properly. The retrieval handle also seemed a little flimsy and cheap.

Ease of Use

Once set up, this little egg was straightforward to use. I loved that you could change the intensity of all the vibration patterns using the remote, as this feature isn’t always available, even in high-end toys. The only other thing I would have liked to see was the ability to turn the vibe on from the remote, as this would help if you wanted to turn the vibe on and off for public play.

Material

As stated above, the egg vibrator is made solely of plastic, and it would have been much higher quality if the manufacturer had made it from silicone. But I assume the company made this design choice to keep the cost down.

Build Quality

Like most lower-priced Lovehoney branded toys, the Thrill Seeker felt a bit cheap. The vibe lacked silicone, and the retrieval handle felt like it could break after a number of uses.

Closeup of the battery compartment.

Additionally, the use of batteries isn’t ideal for several reasons, the first being that it’s harder and more expensive to charge than a rechargeable vibrator, and secondly, it leaves a crease along the middle of the vibe.

Stimulations

The stimulations for this vibe were actually quite good and stronger than some of the rechargeable egg vibes and G-spot vibrators I used. However, if you’re an experienced sex toy owner, the strength of the vibes still may not be enough for you.

Sound Level

The sound level on the vibe was pretty high when outside of the vagina, and as you need to turn it on before you can insert it, it’s likely people can hear it from outside a bedroom. When I measure the noise with my phone, it measures 75 decibels, which is about the same noise level as a conversation.

How to clean Lovehoney Thrill Seeker?

To clean this vibe, use warm water along with anti-bacterial, fragrance-free soap or a sex toy cleaner, paying particular attention to the seam in the middle of the egg. Once clean, ensure the egg is completely dry before storing it. As this vibe didn’t come with a store bag, make sure you store it away from other toys in a place free from dust, moisture, and direct sunlight. Please remember always to clean your toys before each use.

Alternatives to Lovehoney Thrill Seeker

Lovehoney has an enormous number of toys available from their online store, with many remote-controlled egg vibrators that offer hours of fun.

Lovehoney Secret Sensations

The Lovehoney Secret Sensations is also very similar to the Thrill Seeker, as it’s made from the same material, size, battery operated, remote controlled, and price. Unlike the Thrill Seeker, the Secret Sensations is not entirely waterproof but, instead, splashproof. The remote control only offers one button to cycle through the vibrational patterns, unlike the Thrill Seekers remote, which has plus and minus buttons to control the vibrations. As it is the same price, I’d stick with the Thrill Seeker over this vibe, as you can change the intensity of the vibration from the remote.

Lovehoney Ignite

The Lovehoney Ignite is a much better choice of egg vibrator, as it’s cheaper, rechargeable, you can turn it on and off when inserted, is made of silicone, and has 20 vibration patterns. The ignite is waterproof, has a travel lock, is 4.5 inches in circumference with an insertable length of 2 inches, and runs for 100 minutes before it needs charging, all for $34.99

ROMP Cello

If you’re into internal pleasure and want an egg vibe that won’t break the bank, check out the ROMP Cello. At $39.99, this vibe is made from super soft silicone, is waterproof, is remote-controlled for partner play, has four patterns and five intensities, is rechargeable, and lasts 1 hour. The ROMP Cello has a circumference of 4.5 inches and is 7 inches long, with an insertable length of 3 inches.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is Lovehoney Thrill Seeker waterproof?

The vibrator itself is fully waterproof, and you can use it in the bath or shower, perfect for those who love an orgasm when in water. However, the remote control is only splash-proof, so you need to be careful if you use it around water.

What is the best lube for this toy?

As this vibe is made from plastic, you can use both silicone and water-based lube.

Is the packaging discreet?

I ordered the Thrill Seeker along with a few other toys, all of which arrived in a nondescript cardboard box. If left outside, the package is discreet and wouldn’t be recognizable by any neighbors. However, if you’re buying this from the store, the packing could be more discreet as it features a photo of the device on the box.

How to clean this Love Egg?

To clean the Thrill Seeker, use warm water and a fragrance-free antibacterial soap paying particular attention to the seam in the middle of the vibe, making sure you remove any debris from that area. Alternatively, you can use a sex toy cleaner or wipes, but avoid using any other material to clean the vibe.

How to store the Lovehoney Thrill Seeker Love Egg?

To store the Lovehoney Thrill Seeker 10 function remote control love egg vibrator, give it a good clean using the instructions above, and then wait for it to dry. Once dry, pop the vibe into a lint-free bag and store it away from direct sunlight, dust, and moisture.
