How Do I Use the Lovehoney Booty Buddy?
The Lovehoney Booty Buddy makes for an easy introduction to anal pleasure, regardless of your gender. After unboxing it, wash it with warm water and antibacterial soap. It’s waterproof, so you don’t have to be too careful. Unscrew the base of the vibrator, remove the paper disc, and voila! The vibrator will now turn on. Grab water-based lube and put a lot inside your anus and on the plug. First time toying back there? Use extra lube, get turned on before you start, and begin with a small finger. My Personal Experience
Believe me when I say that I was stoked as I awaited the arrival of this little butt plug. That’s because the Lovehoney Booty Buddy is a pleasure aid that both my partner and I can enjoy. It’s made of silicone and waterproof, so it’s easy to sterilize, making it perfect for sharing.
I immediately noticed that the vibes were buzzy and light. Yet when I tried it as a clit vibrator, it worked well and had plenty of power to get me off. Inserted anally, I enjoyed the combination of slight pressure from the shape of the butt plug, along with a tickly, teasing vibration sensation from the bullet.
The shape is slender and short, but it should reach your P-spot if you have one. The tip has a wider portion and is solid, so it puts pleasant pressure in your bum, even if you’re not using the vibrating component. The T-bar made retrieval simple. It’s small, but I still needed to warm up with a finger, and I recommend you do the same, unless you’re a seasoned vet. My partner also tried it and enjoyed the comfortable shape and no-fuss insertion. It was easy for him to wear for hours.
We’re a household that always keeps many sizes of batteries on hand, and yet we did not have one of these lying around. It uses an N battery, and it comes with one, but you’ll want to buy a backup for when the original inevitably runs out.

The design of this curved butt plug is such that it is hollow at the end where the vibrator goes and solid at the tip. The T-bar at the base ensures that the butt plug doesn’t go in too far and makes this butt plug easy to remove. However, you must get the vibrator all the way in so that it doesn’t bend when you try to insert it.
The firm tip puts pressure on your P spot (if you have one) in the exact spot that is most pleasurable. Overall, I found the design extraordinary and durable.
Material
I was not expecting this butt plug to be waterproof, and yet it is. That is wild for an under-$20 butt plug. The material is super luxe, easy to clean, and easy to store.
Stimulations
The Lovehoney Booty Buddy’s vibrations are on the light, buzzy side. But that doesn’t mean they’re not strong; they are. They are the opposite of a rumble, and the design placement means that the opening of your anus will get a lot more of the sensation than the innermost part. The innermost spot will get some pressure, and the base will provide most of the vibes. If you want your P-spot to be overwhelmed with vibes and pressure simultaneously, this isn’t the best setup for that.
The vibrator is not rechargeable, so you’ll have to get an N battery (image above) when the time comes. The motor also slowly peters out, so you may want to replace it before it’s fully dead or endure the slow death of the battery.
My partner and I both felt that the stimulations were more than enough for titillation, but may not be enough on their own to reach anal orgasm. However, when the vibrations were paired with partnered sex of any kind, orgasms were easy to reach and plentiful.
Sound Level

I was able to get away with lubing up a finger as a warm-up, which works equally as well. Ease of Use
It has only one button and is waterproof, so this is utterly foolproof. There’s no app to manage, and setup is a breeze.
The only minor sticking point is that the bullet vibe untwists (allowing you to remove the battery), and it stays put inside the plug, making it challenging to pull the vibrator out of the plug for cleaning. You must pull it straight out because if you twist it at all, you will twist the cap off the vibrator rather than removing it from the plug.
One other thing I noticed is that there’s a trick to turning the vibrator on easily. Most vibes I’ve used require you to hold the button down for a second to turn them on or off. With this one, holding it down won’t turn it on. You must press it briefly to turn it on and cycle through the settings; a long press only turns it off.
Versatility

Alternatives to the Lovehoney Booty Buddy
Lovehoney Butt Tingler
This isn’t Lovehoney’s first foray into affordable, vibrating butt plugs. They also offer the Butt Tingler, which shares its shape but offers some additional features. It has three intensity levels, seven patterns, waterproof materials, and a T-bar to keep it in place. The bullet vibrator is also removable from the Butt Tingler, and although it’s not rechargeable, it uses a triple-A battery, which is much more common than an N battery.
The Lovehoney Butt Tingler costs $33, almost twice the price of the Booty Buddy. You’re paying for the extra settings and a more convenient battery. But if you have a prostate, the Booty Buddy is the better buy, since the shape puts pressure on your P-spot. The Butt Tingler’s shape is straight rather than curved, which won’t target the P-spot as directly.
