LELO ENIGMA Double SonicThink you’ve found all your erogenous spots? Unless you’re in the minority, you might want to think again. The LELO ENIGMA Double Sonic is here to introduce you to your A-spot, a pleasure powerhouse that is deeper inside your vagina than the G-spot. The Double Sonic uses LELO’s trademarked DeepSonic technology to reach the A-spot and promises to lead you to orgasm with “emotional release unlike any other.” Sounds intense! Join me as I find out whether this new sex tech lived up to its claims in my comprehensive review.

Key Takeaways
4.7 out of 5 stars

The LELO ENIGMA Double Sonic is a must-buy for anyone who wants to ensure they’ve tried every possible way to orgasm. An A-spot orgasm isn’t guaranteed, but this can help you find it, which is the first step to pleasuring it. It’s comfortable, not too deep, gorgeous, and addicting. Even if you can’t climax from A-spot stimulation alone, this unique toy has no equal on the market. Is this my new favorite way to orgasm? You better believe it!

Who Should Try It? If you haven’t had an A-spot orgasm before and want to see if it’s in the cards for you, this is an excellent buy. Even if you can’t reach climax, you’ll still get to experience the uber-luxurious features, G-spot vibration, and clitoral suction.

Who Can Skip It? If you don’t like regular G-spot internal stimulation, this probably won’t change your mind. People with tilted uteruses, anyone who suffers from dyspareunia, or has pain during sex for any reason might find the quest to find the A-spot more uncomfortable than pleasurable. It’s also mighty expensive.

You Can Buy It on the official Lelo website for $349.

What Is the LELO ENIGMA Double Sonic?

Ready for some science? Let’s talk biology. The A-spot is short for the anterior fornix erogenous zone, and if you haven’t heard of it, you’re not alone. It’s the deepest recognized erogenous zone inside the vagina and a newcomer to the pleasure scene, as it wasn’t recognized until the 1990s. It’s four-ish inches inside, just in front of the cervix. When reached, it can help you become wetter than you’ve ever been and possibly reach orgasm (more on that here).

LELO ENIGMA Double Sonic

There’s debate among medical experts about whether the A-spot is just the G-spot but farther back or if it is the tail end of the clitoris. This ongoing medical debate isn’t because the female body is an unknowable enigma (see what I did there), but because the amount of resources put toward understanding female sexuality is dismal. The point is that there’s a new kind of pleasure for you to experience, you don’t want to miss out, and this toy can help.

The LELO ENIGMA Double Sonic doesn’t just have a G-spot vibrator and clitoral suction; it also has a sonic tip that helps stimulate the hard-to-find and harder yet to reach area of the A-spot. And thanks to the other stimulators, you may have a blended orgasm that includes more erogenous zones than ever before.

How Do I Use the LELO ENIGMA Double Sonic?

After you take the ENIGMA Double Sonic out of its box, charge it using the cord provided. The website says it will take around two hours to charge, provide two hours of usage, and last for 90 days on standby. When I tested it, the battery took an hour and forty minutes to reach a full charge and lasted over four and a half hours. The battery lasts an incredibly long time, and the device never felt warm or like it was in danger of overheating. Impressive!

Once it is charged, grab some water-based lube and spread it generously on the internal arm of the Double Sonic and in and around your vagina. Get turned on—really turned on. Consider ripping out an orgasm or two just to ensure you’re at peak arousal. Then, insert the Double Sonic as deep as is comfortable, placing the suction nozzle so it creates a seal around your clitoris.

You can use the Double Sonic with the 3-button interface on the toy itself or with the app. If you use the 3-button interface, press and hold the middle parentheses button to turn it on. Press the middle button briefly to cycle through the different patterns and the options to use the G-spot vibration or clitoral suction separately. The plus button increases the intensity, and the minus button lowers it.

If you prefer to use the app, download the LELO app to get started. If this is your first time using the app, you must create an account by entering some personal information. After you’re logged in, the app takes you to the home page, which is full of blog articles and erotic stories. The next icon has sex toy reviews, and following that is your history.

Me holding the user manual

The fourth icon, which looks a bit like the anatomically correct human heart, is the toy section. I was a little surprised that the toy connection was the fourth icon because I’m assuming most people aren’t on the app to read. When you click on the toy icon, it lists “available toys” [sic], and from there, you click on the collection that includes the device you want to connect, so I chose the ENIGMA series. Then, the app directs you to click on the middle button until the button panel begins to blink, after which it will tell you to push another button on the toy to confirm the connection. Connecting the device to the app took me a couple of tries, and I’m not quite sure why, but it eventually connected.

Once connected, the app shows you a few ways you can control the Double Sonic. You can adjust the intensity by rotating the phone or “screwing,” as the app calls it, shaking, or manually operating the motors. If you are using the screwing or shaking, you can only direct one motor at a time, so you’ll need to choose between the suction or the vibration. When you choose manual, you can operate the G-spot vibrations and clitoral suction separately, tailoring an experience exactly to your liking. You can also select different modes that include relaxed (both motors), daring (G-spot vibes only), stimulated (clitoral suction only), thrilled (steady G-spot vibes with syncopated suction), delighted (same as thrilled but faster), overjoyed (steady G-spot with rolling suction), exhilarated (steady G-spot with descending suction), and ecstasy (steady G-spot with ascending and descending suction). These eight settings are also the standard if you are using the 3-button control panel.

Then, if you select “Advanced Mode” at the top of the screen, you can choose Finish Me Off or Out of Control modes. The Out of Control mode was truly random and a little bit jarring, but it would be fun for someone who doesn’t want to have any idea what’s coming next. The Finish Me Off mode offered an element of the unexpected while increasing intensity slowly. Try both to see which you prefer.

When finished, press and hold the middle button to turn off the ENIGMA Double Sonic. Then, wash and store in the storage bag until next time.

My Personal Experience

You better believe I was excited to try a vibrator that was going to teach me a new way to orgasm. That doesn’t happen often when you’re a sex toy tester, and I was so excited to experiment. Having never used an A-spot targeting toy before, I was eager to learn. I was mostly curious about what the website referred to as a “special sonic tip,” which sounded somewhat vague and confusing to me. What is a sonic tip, and how would it know the way to my A-spot when I have been fishing around down there for years and come up empty-handed?

I tried the LELO ENIGMA Double Sonic several times and was fascinated by the way the G-spot vibrations traveled inside me. I could not get enough of the fluttery palpitations produced by the G-spot arm. It is pure magic! But to answer the million-dollar question of whether I had an A-spot orgasm, I’m honestly not sure. It felt amazing, but it was hard to distinguish it from other orgasms I’ve had. Yet, the fact that it didn’t necessarily feel like a different body part was pushing me over the edge did not detract from the overall incredible feelings the LELO vibrator gave me. After trying it, I immediately rushed out to tell all my friends.

Packaging

10/10 packaging as you can see in the image below. Gorgeous and giftable—what more could you ask for?

The packaging

Design

LELO always designs their toys thoughtfully. I was surprised that this A-spot targeting vibrator wasn’t longer, but it’s because they did their research. The A-spot is only 4-5 inches inside the vagina, so most people don’t need an excessively lengthy vibrator to indulge the A-spot, and the extra length can be uncomfortable rather than pleasurable.

The clitoral nozzle is on the small side, but it should fit most clits. However, since this toy is not very long, if the length between your A-spot and clitoris is longer than most, there is a chance it won’t reach.

Material

The material is a gorgeous, silky silicone with ABS plastic enhancements. The ENIGMA Double Sonic couldn’t be any prettier. The blend of materials creates seams, as do the indented buttons, which means that you’ll need to break out your toothbrush for an occasional detailed cleaning.

LELO ENIGMA Double Sonic

Stimulations

The stimulations on this device are second to none. LELO seemingly reinvented vibration, and I cannot get enough. The G-spot arm doesn’t just vibrate; it has a small panel that kind of flutters, and it is magic. Did my heart love till now? I don’t think so. I can’t remember my definition of pleasure before this stimulation, and that’s fine by me.

One thing I didn’t love is that the Double Sonic has an automatic shutoff that occurs after twenty minutes of use. Many toys have this feature to save battery power if you happen to accidentally turn the toy on without meaning to. But when you turn the Double Sonic back on, it returns to the first setting. So, if you’re just about to climax, the Double Sonic could turn off and then you are left to scramble around with the buttons to get it back to the setting that was doing it for you. I wish that if it shut off, when you turned it back on it would resume the last-used setting. If you prefer a longer masturbation time, you can use the app to change the automatic shutoff to any time between ten and thirty minutes in the settings.

LELO ENIGMA Double Sonic

Another strange thing about the stimulations is that they start out at the highest, and then you must press the minus button to get to the lower settings. I feel like this is counterintuitive to the way most vulva owners operate. In general, it takes people with vulvas longer to get warmed up, so I would prefer if the stimulations started low to allow you to adjust, and then you could switch them higher as you become more turned on.

The other strange thing is that, occasionally, the A-spot motor seemed to short out if even the slightest pressure was put on it. I’m not sure why this happened, but if it happens to you, straightening the ENIGMA Double Sonic to its full length seemed to turn the pulses back on.

Sound Level

I was surprised by how quiet this vibe is. On the lowest settings, the sound of the air conditioner nearly covers the noise. When I tested the decibels, they ranged from 46 to 69 but it’s much quieter once placed inside you. I can’t vouch for the noises you’ll make when this thing gets to your A-spot, though.

Build Quality and Dimensions

The build quality is far superior to most other rabbit vibes on the market. A+! And the dimensions are well-researched, thoughtful, and comfortable. (You can see how it compared size-wise with its closest competitors below).

Ease of Use

If you’re using the LELO ENIGMA Double Sonic to find your A-spot for the first time, it will take longer to learn than if you are an old hat at A-spot stimulation. But overall, this was surprisingly easy to use if you take time to get turned on and experiment. All the button controls (circled in the image below) and the app were straightforward and user-friendly.

App

The ENIGMA Double Sonic is compatible with the LELO app, which has new functionality since the last time I tried it. One of the newcomers to this app is the FINISH ME OFF mode. What a hot name, by the way. Cheers to their marketing department! FINISH ME OFF starts at the lowest intensity and very gradually builds up to the highest.

Next is the OUT OF CONTROL mode. It’s a mode that’s tailor-made for you inside the app that gives you surprising, erotic rhythms that take the boring predictability out of using a sex toy.

Me using the LELO smartphone app

I was floored by the graphics on these two settings. Though I preferred the FINISH ME OFF mode, both provided a truly surprising, exciting experience that many other apps have promised but failed to deliver.

Versatility

This triple-stimulating vibrator would have versatility coming out of its ears, if it had ears. Not only can you use it hands-free thanks to the app, but you also have three areas that it targets. Special rhythms allow you to use only one of the stimulations at a time, so if you’re feeling more in the mood for G-spot vibes than clitoral suction, you can make that happen. If you only want clitoral suction, you can make that a reality too.

LELO ENIGMA Double Sonic

Further, you can control the motors separately, making this an ideal pleasure aid for anyone who likes to pair deep G-spot vibes with the gentlest clitoral suction (me) or the exact opposite—light, buzzy vibes with hard and fast suction. Thanks to the ability to control the motors separately, this would be a great product for couples with two vulva owners since it will be able to pleasure both of you, albeit separately, no matter how you like your stimulation.

I also tried the G-spot vibrator on my clitoris, just to be thorough, and it was strong enough that it works as a clitoral vibrator, making the LELO ENIGMA Double Sonic incredibly versatile.

Warranty and Support

LELO offers a one-year warranty on the ENIGMA Double Sonic, giving you plenty of time to discover your A-spot. In addition, you’ll have a ten-year quality guarantee, under which if your product stops working, you receive a discount on your next LELO purchase.

Minor Issues I Found During Testing

After thoroughly testing this vibe, I found that the G-spot vibrator would short out and stop stimulating from time to time. Hopefully, this is a kink that they are working out soon. Other than that, I found this device to be everything it was hyped up to be.

Alternatives to the LELO ENIGMA Double Sonic

LELO ENIGMA

The OG ENIGMA is a dual stimulator—it’s missing the A-spot component but still has clitoral suction and G-spot vibration. Those who wish to save some money and are happy with a more traditional rabbit will fare better with this one. It’s just as stunning and only a fraction of the price at $199.

Lelo Enigma

LELO ENIGMA Wave

The LELO ENIGMA Wave is another rabbit-esque device, but it’s a triple vibe, just like the Double Sonic. It has clitoral suction, G-spot vibration, and wave-like motion that mimics fingering. LELO’s Wave collection has produced some of my favorite toys of all time, and the ENIGMA Wave is another absolute winner.

LELO ENIGMA Wave

If fingering is a surefire way to push you over the edge, the ENIGMA Wave is a can’t miss. If you don’t need to know where your A-spot is, you can save some cash and still get a killer device for around $250. You can read more about LELO ENIGMA Wave in my comprehensive review.

Womanizer Duo 2

The Womanizer Duo 2 is riddled with features, just like the Double Sonic, but it won’t help you find your A-spot. The Duo 2 is an upscale clitoral suction toy with G-spot vibration and comes with unique, thoughtful features like Smart Silence, Pleasure Air, and Afterglow. It lacks the app control that you’ll get with a LELO, so you can’t use it hands-free.

Womanizer Duo 2

The Duo 2 offers a thuddier clitoral suction, whereas the LELO feels a bit gentler. The Duo 2 doesn’t have as memorable of an unboxing experience or as posh of a design, but you can grab one for $219. You can read my full Womanizer Duo 2 review in this article.
