My Personal Experience
I’ve been a big fan of Liberator sex furniture for years, so when I received this luxury cushion in the mail, I was beyond excited to see what they had in store for me this time.
After washing the cover, I tried it out with my partner. We put this pillow through the wringer. We did everything we could to see how comfortable it was compared with a regular bed and the other Liberator items I’ve received.

The Liberator Hipster comes in discreet packaging, so nobody will know what this pillow is intended for. It also arrives vacuum-compressed in a small package. The pillow itself, even when unpackaged, is discreet, so you can leave it in your living room without any trouble.
Best Positions to Try
We tried it out every which way, and the only position it did not make more comfortable was the cowgirl and reverse cowgirl, which could just be on account of my narrow-set hips. My hips don’t allow my legs to rest off of it with my partner remaining on the pillow—my legs stay on the cushion, too, so it is not more comfortable than being on the bed. I’m at an angle, so it feels slightly less sturdy.
That said, the missionary was elevated to new levels with this cushion, doggy style was comfier than we could have imagined (as would be true of all your favorite from-behind positions and anal play), and 69 was my favorite liberator hipster position.
I should note that I’m not usually that big of a fan of 69 (unless you already know the cheat code, which is to do it on your side—way more comfortable). Someone’s neck will always start hurting before you finish, and it’s just not a great long-term position. However, Hipster made 69 completely comfortable. Neither my partner nor I was straining.
We didn’t try the spooning position since that one is the comfiest, in my opinion, when you are both lying flat. We focused mainly on comfortable positions that would offer G-spot stimulation.
Overall, I think the high and low contours are great for different positions, and the options are almost endless. You can flip it around and see which is more comfortable for your back and gives you the best angle during intimacy with your partner. Experimenting is at least half the fun.

The design is a bit like a sized-down chaise longue or even a roller coaster, with two humps of different sizes for you to play around with. It has a larger and a smaller curve, and between the two, endless positions are possible, even for the less flexible among us (it’s me).
The design is incredibly crafty because it is perfect for getting intimate, as you might have guessed, but nothing screams ‘sex.’ You can leave this pillow out when you have company, and no one will necessarily spot it as something that’s specifically adult. Nice work, Liberator!

Liberator Hipster Sex Pillow vs. Wedge/Ramp Combo
The Wedge/Ramp Combo is a comparable cushion, so I spent a lot of time comparing them when researching for this review. The main difference is that the Hipster has contours, and the Ramp is a sex wedge without curves. After trying many different comfortable positions with each of them, these were my findings:
- Doggy style: My partner and I both liked the Ramp better. It’s a bit firmer and has better height, making it the perfect accompaniment for this sex position.
- Missionary: We liked the Hipster better. The contours made this position incredibly easy on my back, and I could have stayed like that for hours. It takes a lot of ingenuity to make the missionary feel this dreamy, so I was impressed.
- Cowgirl/reverse cowgirl: This position is challenging for me with both cushions. The user guide shows the woman with her legs off the pillow and on the floor or bed, but my hips aren’t wide enough to comfortably make this possible. If you have much wider-set hips, I would guess the Hipster would be more comfortable for this position.
- Sixty-nine: The Hipster wins this one by a mile. It was made for the mutual oral position and is especially perfectly suited for longer oral sessions. It is incredibly supportive in all the right places, and you can go for hours. Highly recommend!
- Watching TV in Bed: My partner and I disagreed on this one. I liked the Wedge better for TV-watching support on the bed, and my partner preferred the Hipster. It will depend on whether you want more firm support (in which case you’d choose the Wedge/Ramp Combo) or something squishier.

Liberator Hipster vs. Black Label Hipster
There are two different types of Hipsters that you can choose from, the standard or the Black Label Hipster. Liberator’s Black Label series caters to the kinky crowd. Shaped exactly like the original, Liberator Black Label Hipster has cuff connector points, and you can use it with other Black Label shapes.
The Black Label costs just over $200, surprisingly less than the original. Keep in mind that there aren’t D-rings, so you may want to order the cuff kit to go with it, which costs between $54-$75.
Liberator Hipster vs. Esse Lounger
The Esse is another offering from Liberator, and it’s more furniture than a cushion. Shaped similarly to the Hipster but much larger, the Esse Lounger is a sex chaise longue with a headrest and mini scoop pillow to help support you during other sex positions. Unlike most chaise longues, the cover is washable, so you can easily clean up any mess you make.
The Esse Lounger does not look like sex furniture, but it will blend in with your other furniture and come in ten different colors. However, it’s pretty large, as its dimensions are 64″ x 24″ x 24″, so you won’t be able to tuck it into your closet unless you have an extraordinarily sizable closet. The Esse Lounger costs $625, so it’s an investment piece.
Liberator makes several versions of the Esse Lounger, including the Esse II, Esse Chaise, and Esse Black Label (to which I’ll compare the Hipster in a moment). So, if the Esse sounds close to what you’re looking for but not quite it, you can probably find what you want in one of the other versions.
Liberator Hipster vs. Esse Lounger II Black Label
The Esse Lounger II Black Label is a chaise longue, much like the one mentioned above. It’s a large piece of furniture that you won’t be able to tuck in your closet, but you won’t need to since the twelve reinforced clips are hidden underneath the base. It’s as comfortable in your living room as in your dungeon.

Dame Pillo

DOMINIX Deluxe
People hold mixed opinions about inflatable wedges, which is precisely what the DOMINIX Deluxe is. On the plus side, you can inflate it, use it, and then deflate it and store it easily. It won’t take up much space. On the other hand, it won’t feel as sturdy or comfortable as a cushion and will feel much less luxurious.
