OMGGG! GumiGrrl by JimmyJaneThe GumiGrrl, a lollipop-themed vibrator from JimmyJane’s OMGGG! line promises addictive pleasure in a super-sweet package. Does it hit better than a sugar rush, or is this one lollipop I’d rather trade in for some better Halloween candy?

Read my OMGGG! GumiGrrl review to find out.

Key Takeaways
2.5 out of 5 stars

GumiGrrl certainly looks cute, and it delivers more power than you might expect from such a small vibrator. Most importantly, it feels really good, despite my usual dislike of rounded clit vibes. So, why the comparatively low rating? Well, two main factors prevent this toy from being my summer crush: first was the amount that the stick/handle vibrated while I used it, second was how hard the button is to press. While it is ridiculously adorable, I feel like functionality was sacrificed to make it look this good.

Who Should Try It? Since my biggest issues with GumiGrrl were holding it and pressing the button, this would be a perfect choice for partner play. The vibes themselves are great, so having someone else do the hard work of holding it and pressing the button would make this toy a definite winner.

Who Can Skip It? If you’re a beginner to the world of sex toys, don’t be lured in by the cutesy design and low price. There are plenty of budget options that also look great, but are easier to use.

You Can Buy It on the official JimmyJane website for $29.99.

What Is OMGGG! GumiGrrl?

The OMGGG! GumiGrrl is an external vibe shaped like a lollipop. It has 10 powerful vibes to choose from, and because of its shape and size, it can be used to tease all your external erogenous zones.

Unboxing

The OMGGG! line from JimmyJane has truly adorable packaging. Instead of a big box, the toys come in bags that look like they’re meant for candy or adorable collectibles. They also come with stickers, each representing a different toy in their line, a customer care card, and a charger.

The content of the bag

While I find the packaging adorable, I have some thoughts about the language they use on the bag. This toy is described as “Unleashed”, then as a “candy pop crush”, then as “sticky-sweet with a popstar scream [that] hits louder than your midnight playlist”. So, is it an animal, a candy, or a song? Also, popstars don’t typically scream except in compilations of their most embarrassing live performances. The packaging also keeps describing GumiGrrl as “sticky”, which is not a word I want associated with a sex toy. Like, ever.

How Do I Use OMGGG! GumiGrrl?

  1. First, charge up your GumiGrrl with the included charging cable. It uses a pin charger, which I found a little tricky to plug in, but that could just be me. It lasts about 60 minutes on a 120 minute charge. The light on the power button will flash while it’s charging and glow steadily when it’s ready to be used.
  2. Speaking of the power button, long hold it to turn the device on, then continue pressing the button to cycle through the 10 different vibrations. Since it’s an external vibrator, it can be used to pleasure your clitoris, nipples, or any other external erogenous zone.
  3. Though not strictly necessary, a little bit of water-based lube can definitely add to your pleasure.
  4. When you’ve enjoyed your lollipop fully, long hold the power button again to turn it off.

My Personal Experience

Design

The design of GumiGrrl is really great…in some ways. Let’s start with the positives. Normally, I am not a fan of round external vibrators, but this one did it for me, probably due to the ridges, which add some great texture. I also liked the fact that even though it had the little stick to hold instead of a proper handle, it was still possible to really press up against the toy without bending the stick. Plus, it’s just so cute!

Then, there were the downsides. The button is located on the base of the toy, and is impossible (at least for me) to press while keeping the toy itself pressed against my clit. Having to lift the toy up, press the button, then put it back down was not exactly ideal. And then there was the lollipop stick. A great idea in theory, but this stick vibrated as much as the actual toy, meaning that holding it was more than a little uncomfortable. Which is why I say it’s perfect for partner play…as long as your partner’s the one holding it.

Material

The GumiGrrl is made of silicone and ABS plastic. The silicone feels soft, and the ridges around the lollipop feel amazing.

Stimulations

GumiGrrl is surprisingly strong for its small size. It has 10 stimulations in all, 3 of which are regular vibrations that increase in intensity, 7 of which are patterns. If the vibrations were limited to the lollipop head itself, I would like it a whole lot better. But the unfortunate thing about this product is just how much the stimulations move from the lollipop to the stick to your hand.

Sound Level

For how powerful it is, the GumiGrrl is still pretty quiet. Though since it took me quite a bit of time to get it to turn off (more on that in the next section), it’s hardly discreet, since there’d be no good way of hiding it if someone knocked on your door unexpectedly. The website describes it as “unapologetically loud”, but I think they’re using the term figuratively to fit with their extended, if somewhat confusing, pop-star metaphor. Because if a company made a vibrator loud on purpose, they should apologize for that.

Build Quality and Dimensions

With a total length of 4.8 inches, most of which is the lollipop stick, GumiGrrl is quite small, and if the quality were better, I would absolutely recommend it as a travel vibe. But the quality is the one aspect I didn’t love, and unfortunately, it’s the most important aspect. The button was, shall we say, capricious, and only worked when it felt like it. The fact that it didn’t reliably turn on or off definitely took away from the usability, let alone my enjoyment, of this toy.

Ease of Use

The downside of a product having just one button is that if said button doesn’t work, the toy becomes very difficult to use. The GumiGrrl’s power button just…didn’t turn on one of the times I tried to use it, and when I waited a bit and did get it to work, it didn’t want to turn off again. Pressing the button to cycle through the different stimulations was similarly frustrating. And “frustrating” is another word I should not be using to describe a sex toy (though it’s admittedly still better than “sticky”).

Versatility

Because of the small, simple design of GumiGrrl, it can be used on any external erogenous zone you want. It’s also IPX6 waterproof, meaning you can splash it, but shouldn’t fully submerge it. So, I am side-eyeing the product web page for saying it’s “waterproof without limits”. I also probably should have double-checked the actual IPX rating before dunking it in a dish of water in my unboxing video. And before you say anything, the power button didn’t work before I filmed that, so I didn’t break it by dunking it in water.

Warranty and Support

The GumiGrrl has a 1-year warranty.

Minor Issues I Found During Testing

My biggest issue with GumiGrrl was the fact that the button only worked sporadically. Sometimes it would refuse to turn on, sometimes it wanted to stay on, and whether it would actually cycle through the stimulations was anybody’s guess. The only time I want a toy to surprise me is when I turn on the Autopilot feature of my Womanizer Next. Plus, there was the issue of the vibrations traveling to my hand just as much as they traveled to my clit.

Also, I really don’t like that the web page says, “waterproof without limits” if it’s only splash-proof. That seems like a pretty big limitation.

Alternatives to OMGGG! GumiGrrl

JimmyJane Form 2 Pro

Want a vibrator that’s small, pink, and all but guaranteed to blow your mind? Then the Form 2 Pro, also by JimmyJane, is going to be a much better option than the GumiGrrl. At $144.99, it is quite a bit more expensive, but the quality is fantastic. It gives you the option to control both the speed and the vibration pattern, so you can find your perfect vibe. There’s a reason it topped our Top 10 Best Clit Vibrators list.

Satisfyer Deep Kiss

If the small size and ease-of-use (assuming the button worked) of the GumiGrrl appeals to you, take a look at the Satisfyer Deep Kiss. It has a lot of the benefits of the GumiGrrl, namely being small and adorable, but unlike the GumiGrrl, it has more customizable features and, you know, actually worked every time I used it. Just note that it’s a suction toy instead of a traditional vibrator.
