How to Use Bathmate Hydro?
Using the Bathmate Hydro7 is as straightforward as can be. Please remember to wash it before using it, even if it is brand new. My Personal Experience
Introduction
I couldn’t wait to try out my Bathmate Hydro7 with the promise of a harder and fuller erection quality to take to bed and share with my partner. I jumped in the shower and followed the instruction manual as stated. The Bathmate Hydro7’s design is simple yet effective. Its minimalist design makes it both easy to use and clean. The safety-release valve creates no confusion. I especially like the detachable comfort pad on the device. I found that after a week of using my Hydro7, I stopped using the comfort pad. It’s a great addition for the novice pumper, but with time you will discover it is one more piece to wash and easier to make a seal without it.
Cleaning the device was easy enough. Having a long brush makes it far easier. Remember to give the bellows a proper scrub, as they are most likely to trap bacteria.
Materials
The Bathmate Hydro7 is primarily composed of body-safe silicone and ABS plastic. The non-porous silicone on the comfort pad (image below) does wonders by softening the pressure from the bellows above and helps to create a seal against your pelvis. And the ABS plastic on the main chamber is incredibly sturdy.
Ease of use
As far as penis pumps go, water-based ones are more of a chore to use, and the same is true for the Bathmate Hydro7. That is not to say that it is a horrendous task, which it is not; it is pretty straightforward. It just takes more time when you factor in the shower.
Pumping the Hydro7 was simple; my wife even had fun pumping it up on me. The most challenging part of using the Hydro7 was creating a seal to start the pumping process. After a few days of use, you will figure out how to apply pressure to yourself to make such a seal effectively.

As I am sure, you can imagine, using the Bathmate Hydro7 feels both strange and arousing at the same time. The strange part is putting your dick under all that pressure and feeling the erection that it creates. We all love having our penises pulled on with a firm grip. Imagine having your whole penis under such a sensation; it’s not bad.
During the first five days of using the Hydro7, it felt uncomfortable to pump it to the ideal pressure level. I did it a few times and found myself releasing the water well before the five minutes were up. As an uncircumcised man, not just my penis but my foreskin, too, swelled up and became sensitive. After a quick Google search, I learned this was normal. Throughout the week, the more I used it, the more I found myself enjoying the pressure, and by day seven, I was able to leave it on for the full-time limit comfortably.
At times while using it, my penis head would rub against the plastic chamber, which was not a welcoming sensation. If it happens, you can simply release the water and try to reapply it at a different angle. However, if this keeps happening to you, some lubrication on the tip of your penis will prevent any discomfort.
I did experience some very minor bruising on my penis. Nothing serious, but bruising nonetheless. It was slightly more sensitive; however, it did not prevent me from having sex or a wank. Such bruising is normal with all penis pumps, especially if you use them daily. If you notice the bruises are growing or becoming more sensitive, give yourself a break for a couple of days.
Now for the fun part, the erections. Both sex and masturbation felt immensely better when I pumped immediately before doing so. Minor issues I found during testing
Overall I loved my experience with the Bathmate Hydro7, but like all things in life, nothing is perfect, and here are the minor problems I found.
The gauge for measuring yourself on the side of the vacuum chamber is unreliable (image below). Because of the compressing bellows at the base of the pump, it will always sit on you at a different level. The ruler is a terrific gimmick, but that is all it is. You still need to use an actual ruler or tape measure for a true reading.
Pubic hair management became a real issue while using Hydro7. I found that I could not make a tight seal if I wasn’t shaved. Stubble was fine, but as soon as a bush began to prevail, it was time to get out the razor.
Lastly, was the fact that it is time-consuming and needs to be done in the bath or shower. Quite often, I found myself without hot water by the end of my pumping session if I didn’t time my shower correctly. Of course, there are ways around that, such as turning off the water or using it in the tub. It is just something to be mindful of.
