Since I received the Jackie Velvet Thruster Prime as an additional toy with others, my unboxing experience was more of an unbagging experience. But I’ve seen the Velvet Thruster packaging before. It’s basic but sturdy, yet not quite as giftable as you might expect from a toy that costs upward of $250.

How to Use Jackie Velvet Thruster Prime?
Making the Velvet Thruster’s positioning work can take a little bit of time. So, when you first try out your thrusting toys, allow some additional time so that you don’t end up in a rush. My Personal Experience
I knew from the moment I unbagged the Jackie Velvet Thruster Prime that she was going to be more up my alley (literally and figuratively) than the Nanci. She’s ever so slightly smaller than Nanci, for one, which is nearly always my preference. Plus, the head shape is more forgiving. Nanci has a slight hook on the end of her large head, and my pubic bone has a hook phobia.
As I began experimenting, I noticed that the details on the shaft were incredible (image below). It looked a bit like a real penis but was a bright cherry red. Even those who don’t typically like realistic dildos will have to admit that this is one pretty dildo.
One of the things I like about Velvet Thruster Prime Co. is that they have toy offerings for people who like their dildo to have a realistic shape and those who do not. Typically, people fall into one category or another, but I happen to like both. However, having toys that aren’t anatomically correct can be easier for people to use who have been through sexual trauma or aren’t attracted to penises, and so their selection of sex toys is inclusive, which I love.

The packaging is minimal but functional. As you can see in the image below, the box came with a USB charging cable, some instructions, and the device.
Design
The design is excellent. It hits that hard-to-find blend of a realistic shape without being intimidating or uncanny. The veiny details and subtle ridge on the tip are part of what adds to the overall experience. It looks modern and functional, if not over-the-top luxurious.
Material

Sound Level
This device isn’t quiet. It packs a punch, so you can definitely hear the thrusting if you have thin walls. When I tested it, the decibels ranged from 59 to 67.
Build Quality and Dimensions
The build quality is great. When you make a toy that comes with different attachments and accessories, it can be tough to execute excellent build quality that will last a long time. Sometimes the seams don’t line up just perfectly; other times the dimensions may be off by just enough that the new shaft is difficult to put on or take off. Ease of Use
The Velvet Thruster Prime is as easy to use as the base it comes with. In this case, there are only three buttons to learn, the power button, and a plus and minus button that control the thrusting speed.
When you press the power button to turn it off after use, keep in mind that it will continue to thrust for the next three seconds. The idea behind this lengthy turn-off phase is that you can press the power button again to stop the thruster in a certain position.
If you need to pack it in a tight suitcase, you can stop it at its smallest position. If you want to clean the dildo, you can stop it at its longest length (image above) so that you don’t have to wash in between the folds.
Lastly, if you decide to purchase the accessories, they are easy to use as well. The suction cup and the handles are easy to attach and detach as needed.
Versatility
This device is made specifically for internal stimulation, so it’s not incredibly versatile. What it lacks in versatility, it makes up for in intensity.
However, the Velvet Thruster Prime gets a few points for versatility. Since the base is flared, it is safe for anal use (though I found the thrusting slightly too intense for anal use). Further, you can buy attachments (like the suction cup, for example) to enhance its versatility without adding the extra expense of a brand-new device. Though the Nanci and the Jackie are roughly the same lengths and both made of medical-grade silicone, their head shapes offer vastly different experiences. The Nanci has a long head that juts out for constant pressure. It’s excellent for those who don’t want to have to find the right angle to keep pressure on their G spot since any angle will do the trick.

If you like Jackie’s realistic penis shape but want more length and girth, Sammie is the best choice. Velvet Thruster Prime Walter
Walter is a thrusting toy that looks exactly how I always pictured alien probes. Essentially, it’s designed for anal fun thanks to the shape that resembles a string of anal beads. So, anyone who enjoys playing with anal beads but wishes they were faster and more intense will love this shaft choice.
However, these anal beads thrust up to 140 times per minute. It’s aimed at intense anal play enthusiasts because there’s nothing gentle about this toy. The Walter thruster costs $246.

Changing the Shafts
If you decide to invest in Velvet Thruster Prime heads, you’ll need to know how to swap heads. The fit is tight, so it may take a few minutes to make the change. Pull the bottom of the shaft off first until it glides off. Then, slowly pull the new shaft down, holding the top, until it reaches the base. Tug until it fits inside the grooves and feels snug. Then, you’re ready to go!
Accessories
One of the biggest advantages of investing in one of the Velvet Thrusters is that they have so many accessories (like the ever-popular suction cup) so you can tailor your experience and expand it to broaden your horizons. Keep in mind that these accessories are sold separately and don’t come with the Thruster sex toys.
Partner Play Handle
Do you love the sensation from the Velvet Thruster but wish someone else was holding it for you? If so, the partner play handle (image below) needs to be your next purchase. Unlike the long handle below, this one is straight but still adds enough length to make partnered play comfy.
Long-Reach Handle
Nobody likes having to hunch over to masturbate (unless your kink is lower back pain). That’s why the geniuses who created the original Velvet Thrusters offer a long-reach handle. It is exactly what it sounds like—a handle so that you don’t have to lean over to get the Thruster Prime into the right spot.
As you can see in the image above, this handle is L-shaped and adds the right amount of length to make the positioning work perfectly. The extra length also makes it easy to angle the toy. You can adjust it about 45 degrees forward before the Velvet Prime shaft will start to detach and you’ll have to pull it back on again.
Suction Cup Attachment
The Prime suction cup base is an excellent addition to this thruster. This suction cup base will stay put on nearly any flat surface.
This accessory is perfect for someone who wants a self-thrusting toy that can be used hands-free. The harder the flat surface is, the easier it will be to use the suction cup. Plus, you’ll have more fun, since you won’t have to pause to reposition the suction cup base every five minutes. Compared with other devices that use a suction cup for a hands-free experience, this one is a bit sturdier, making it worth the extra expense.
Try the suction cup attachment on a toilet seat or the floor—but don’t bring it in the shower since the self-thrusting toy is not water-resistant.
Minor Issues I Found During Testing
Though the Velvet Thruster Prime is an overall impressive toy (all the Prime Thrusters are, to be honest) there were a few issues that I didn’t love.
For one, the Velvet Thruster Prime advertised a battery life that it just didn’t live up to. Further, the fact that it isn’t waterproof reduces its versatility and makes it harder to clean. Without these two drawbacks, the Velvet Thruster Prime might just be the perfect internal stimulation thruster! Velvet Thruster Mini Teddy
The Mini Teddy is another offering from Velvet Thruster Co., and its claim to fame is that it’s one of the Original Velvet Thrusters. The Original Velvet Thrusters don’t have all the upgrades of the newer Prime Thrusters, but they are impressive in their own right.
Though its design is realistic just like Jackie’s, it’s much smaller, as the mini thruster name suggests. The Velvet Thruster Mini Teddy has a stroke length of 2.5” and the speed only goes up to 128 thrusts per minute—which is still a very intense ride. However, the Velvet Thruster Mini Teddy will make for a gentler experience.
Anyone new to intense internal thrusting toys will enjoy the Thruster Mini more. Plus, the Mini Teddy comes with a suction cup base, so you don’t have to buy the suction cup accessory separately. Though the Thruster Mini suction cup works well, I found that the suction cup attachment grips the floor a bit better, so it’s easier to pair with hands-free play.
Anyone who will be using the Mini Thruster primarily with the suction cup will want to spring for the separate base attachment that pairs with the Velvet Thruster Prime models. Teddy’s suction cup is not nearly as strong, and the separate suction cup accessory (that only works with the Velvet Prime devices) will be far easier to use hands-free.

The Velvet Thruster Teddy comes in different variations, just like the Prime series does. You can buy the Velvet Thruster Teddy TX, GS, or XL. The Teddy TX is the smallest of this line, and it’s perfect for newbies. Teddy TX also has a price that’s more accessible than many of the comparable higher-end devices. Grab a Teddy TX for $166.
The Teddy GS has a square tip, is larger, and costs $182. Lastly, the Teddy XL is the largest of the bunch, is incredibly realistic, and costs $182 as well.
50 Shades of Grey Greedy Girl
On the much gentler end of the handheld fucking machine spectrum is the 50 Shades of Grey Greedy Girl. The Greedy Girl is a dual-stimulation toy, an amped-up version of the traditional rabbit. This self-thrusting toy offers 4.5” inches of insertable length with a 4.5” circumference, so while it’s smaller than the Jackie, it is not as small as the Mini Teddy.

When I was young and naïve, I thought that a fucking machine was just a compliment you gave someone with impressive stamina. The Velvet Thruster’s shaft is made of silicone, which means the best choice for lube is water-based. Water-based lube is safe for use with silicone devices, while silicone lubricant can wear down the silicone finish and make your toys porous breeding grounds for bacteria. Not ideal! When I read the user manual, my jaw dropped when I saw how long the battery life was supposed to be. It said the Velvet Thrusters would last for eight hours after a 30-minute charge. That’s pretty unheard of when you’re dealing with intense thrusting toys.
Does the Thruster Prime live up to the wildly far-fetched battery life that the manual suggests? No, it doesn’t, but it still lasts a long time and has impressive power and endurance. Chances are, you will want to quit long before this machine does. When I tested the battery life, it lasted four hours after a full charge.
How Do I Clean the Velvet Thruster Prime?
Since the Velvet Thruster Prime is not waterproof or even water-resistant, you’ll want to take it apart before cleaning. Clean the silicone shaft with warm water and antibacterial soap. The rest of it can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.
For a quick clean in between uses, stop the Velvet Thruster when she’s at her longest. Then, tilt the toy down and clean it with water and soap, being ever so careful to avoid the battery hole. How Do I Store the Velvet Thruster Prime?
The Velvet Prime doesn’t come with a storage bag, so you’ll have to get creative. Investing in a makeup bag that will fit this toy is a great idea unless you already have sex toy storage on your nightstand.
Keep in mind that, for the same reason you don’t want to mix silicone lubricant with silicone toys, you won’t want to store your silicone toys together in a heap. The silicone can damage the other silicone and make the toys porous and full of bacteria. After that, they will be impossible to sanitize and can hang on to harmful stuff that can leave you with a UTI. So, always make sure to store your silicone toys separately.
