The packaging isn’t the most luxurious I’ve opened, but it’s what’s on the inside that matters, anyway. The Boutique Voila Lipstick Vibrator comes in a thin cardboard package with a USB charging cable (image below). It doesn’t have a storage bag or lube sample, but that’s why this product is so affordable.
The box says, “sex toys for fun people,” which I like since I consider myself to be a member of that designation! All in all, no one will be buying this one for the box, but the unboxing was nicer than I expected for the price point.

My Personal Experience
I loved this bullet vibrator. It’s a true through-the-pants vibe. That’s how powerful the motor is. You can be wearing two layers of clothes and still have this rip orgasm from you, one right after the other. I was blown away.
Even the lowest speed is incredibly powerful. However, when I pushed the button to cycle through the higher intensities, they didn’t necessarily feel stronger, just faster. They got quite a bit buzzier. But the sensation was still unbelievably strong.
As a side note, the power button looks like an adorable little smiley face (image above). I like this approach to design, a silly or normal style, rather than the “sinful secret” marketing that is so common in the sex toy industry. Masturbating is fun and normal and adorable designs make it feel that way, and I think it can reduce the stigma.
The motor also likes to make itself known. This is one of the noisier toys I have and is far and away the loudest lipstick vibrator I’ve ever used. Full disclosure: When I was testing the battery, my partner thought it sounded like they were doing construction on our street.

As you can see in the image below, the packaging is bare bones, but so is the price. It’s cute enough, and it comes with a charging cord, so this will be perfect for someone who wants a lipstick vibe but doesn’t want to spend a ton on giftability.
Design
The design is pretty, but it’s also not super close to real-deal lipstick. This vibrator is much larger than any lipstick I’ve ever owned. It’s fit to stick a giant pair of lips. But if someone was just glancing through your purse without looking for something specific, it may fool them. And it could certainly fool a disinterested TSA employee, six hours into their shift.
However, aside from the size, this lipstick is vaguely realistic. The only thing it’s missing is a cover. Most people wouldn’t unscrew their lipstick to full length and then throw it in their purse without a cover.
Material
The material is body-safe, silky silicone. It’s quite soft and feels great against your skin. Better yet, it’s fully waterproof!
Stimulations
I have a confession to make: When I saw the price tag, I wasn’t expecting much power. After turning the vibe on, I was shocked. Was the first setting the highest? No, it was not; it was the lowest. This is just a powerful little lipstick vibe.
I cycled through the settings and found that there were two higher settings and then a series of vibration patterns. The higher settings were faster and buzzier, but they didn’t feel noticeably more powerful to me.
Overall, I’d say this vibe sits squarely between buzzy and rumbly—but the vibrations are noticeably stronger than some of my other lipstick vibes from more well-known companies.
Sound Level
Strong vibrations aren’t silent, so this toy is noisy. I’d recommend adding some background noise in addition to shutting the door if you want privacy. There’s no way you’re going to sneak off to a public bathroom for a private quickly because it’s not that discreet.
When I tested the sound level, it ranged from 58 to 64 decibels.
Build Quality and Dimensions
The build quality is decent. It’s made from body-safe waterproof materials, which is the biggest necessity. However, the dimensions are quite big, bigger than any lipstick I’ve ever seen. This lipstick vibe is easy to use. It’s waterproof, which means it’s partially easy to clean. However, there are seams galore, so you’ll want to use a toothbrush for deep cleaning frequently. Otherwise, lube and other liquids may set up shop in the cracks.

Minor Issues I Found During Testing
Let me preface my minor issues by saying that I think, for the price, this little vibe is a winner. You can’t have everything for under $40. As for the price, I have no qualms.

The extremely minor qualms I have with this toy are that it is loud, doesn’t have a storage bag, the seams will mean you have to spend a little extra time cleaning, and the battery light is a bit difficult to see. We-Vibe Tango X
In certain circles, We-Vibe Tango X is the gold standard for lipstick vibes. It comes from an established sex toy company, it’s body-safe, and it packs a punch. However, when I tested them, the Boutique Voila outmatched the Tango X’s power by quite a bit. On the other hand, it’s also much louder. The Tango X could conceivably be confused for lipstick whereas the Boutique Voila is simply too large. But the biggest issue I had with the Tango X is that the toy has plastic that goes against your clit while the silicone end is the part you grab.
It would be so much more comfortable if this was reversed, and the Boutique Voila Lipstick Vibrator doesn’t have this problem. The deciding factor will likely be the price: the Tango X retails for $79, which is a much bigger financial commitment than you’ll have with the Boutique Voila.
