First Impressions & Features
Packaging
I got the Onyx+ Realm from the Kiiroo website. It was a bundle deal, so you get the hands-free male masturbator, a decent-quality mobile VR headset, Kiiroo lube, and a toy cleaner. Not bad!
I think it was pretty good value for money and would have been much more expensive if I had bought everything separately.
Within a week, the Realm was waiting for me on my doorstep as I got home from work one evening – the highlight of my day after a stressful 8 hours at work. The package was discreet, although I’m yet to receive a sex toy clearly marked for the neighbors to see.
The Onyx packaging is premium – it looks great and would be perfect for wrapping up as a gift if you have a horny man in your life.

Design
I have the original Onyx+ model, which was great, and this new model promised some solid upgrades, including VR capabilities. To accentuate the futuristic nature of the set, the Onyx is sleek and white and reminded me of something from Star Wars.
To get an idea of the size of the unit, it’s about the same as my UE Boom speakers, maybe a little longer and lighter. It also has white plastic, but it doesn’t feel cheap, and the parts don’t look like they will damage easily.
It is at the premium end of sex toy products, especially the touch-sensitive trackpad. The curved design also felt good in my hands.
Size-wise, the Realm looks like it would suit most dicks. It’s pretty standard, but if you are smaller or larger than average, you may want to check out the product page for exactly what girths are best for the Onyx.
Contracting Rings
This VR sex toy is not a stroker. I guess you could call it a cock massager, and it gives you the same feeling as an excellent blow job. There are 10 contracting rings inside the device that massage your dick just the right way. The way it works is that the first ring contracts, then the second does, then the third, all the way up to the 10th.

The VR goggles are decent enough quality (not bad, but not super premium), with a 42mm spherical resin lens to minimize distortion and provide a wider view angle – which is needed to get the whole VR experience.

Not only do the VR goggles put you right in the middle of the action, but some porn can be synced with the Realm, simulating what’s happening right in front of your eyes.
For example, if you’re getting a blow job in a POV VR video, then that’s what the Onyx+ will try and emulate. It changes pace, intensity, and pattern according to what you’re seeing – and it’s pretty damn impressive if you ask me!

My Personal Experience
Ease Of Use
I was so excited to test out the Realm but was a little disappointed that it didn’t come charged, so I had to wait about 4 hours to be ready to go. Once it had finally charged, I had a quick scan of the manual and a play with the touchpad, and within minutes I had the controls all sorted out.
I lubed up the sleeve and my dick and positioned myself into the primary device.
My first thoughts were it felt really lifelike, especially with all the lube. The bumps and ridges gave me incredible sensations, giving me goosebumps.
Manual Mode
A remarkable feature I started with is manually controlling the rings by moving my finger up and down the touchpad. It’s a fun way to get used to the feeling and would also be great for edging and training.

Not all videos are compatible with VR technology, but Kiiroo has a pretty good site called Feelme.com. It has a decent collection of videos, but I’m not sure how much new interactive content they publish daily.
I’ve never tried VR before, so I was excited but also a little skeptical that it was all just a marketing tool, and I was quickly proven wrong.

Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning Realm is simple. The guys who designed this toy took feedback that the Kiiroo Keon was just a hassle to clean. I have one of these, and you can never be 100% sure that all the ridges and bumps are clean, simply because you can’t see them.
With the Realm, the sleeve is removable, making life easy. To clean this, all you have to do is remove the sleeve, turn it inside out and rinse it with warm water. Wash it with the toy cleaner you get in the bundle and leave it to dry.
I have a special box for all my toys for storage because it’s super important they don’t get dust or anything settling on them. It would be great if the device came with a storage bag, but that’s something for the next model, perhaps.
