How to Use Lovense Solace?
- Using smart sex toys for the first time, such as the Solace, may seem a little overwhelming; after all, it does require a bit more technique than simply tugging on your wood, but fret not; we are here to walk you through it.
- There are two things you must do before the fun begins between your penis and your Solace, and that is to charge it and wash it.
- Lovense recommends charging it for two hours before using it the first time to preserve the longevity of its battery.
- Secondly, you must clean the sleeve and the sleeve holder with a mild antibacterial hand soap or sex toy wash.
Changing Sleeves and Remove Sleeves For Cleaning
- Hold the Power button to power it up,
- Hold the Down button for three seconds and the sleeve holder will adjust to an outer position.

My Personal Experience

Removing the sleeve and its case from the Solace is straightforward, making washing a breeze. Both the sleeve and its case are waterproof, allowing for maximum hygiene. The sleeve is closed at the far end, preventing fluids from gathering inside the casing. While having a closed ending on the sleeve keeps the case cleaner, it does make cleaning and drying the sleeve slightly more challenging.
Materials
The exterior of the Lovense Solace is made of rigid ABS plastic and the sleeves (closeup below) are made from an ultra-soft, super-stretchy TPE (thermoplastic elastomer). The TPE sleeves are body-safe and hypoallergenic, keeping you and your precious bits safe.
Ease of Use
Thankfully, Lovense has made using their high-tech stroker as straightforward as possible. Using it in manual mode is by far the easiest. Simply insert your penis with some lube and click through the patterns and speeds until you find your desired effect.
Setting up the desktop mount is fairly simple (you can see me demonstrating how to use it in the image above). Finding the perfect angle, however, can present some challenges but I found getting the right angle while standing was easiest. Finding the perfect angle while sitting required some slight engineering and the aid of a few stacked books to achieve perfection. I grew to love the desk mount more and more with time as the hands-free experience is the ultimate luxury during self-pleasure.
The easiest way to use it is lying in bed, but then again, that is always the easiest position to masturbate in.

One thing you can count on from any Lovense toy is that you will be well-stimulated, pushing the boundaries of overstimulation. At 180 strokes per minute, the Solace was no different. If ultra-fast jackhammer-style sex is your thing, then the product will keep you grinning from ear to ear.
My partner and I first played with it together in manual mode. Clicking through the cycles and speeds, it certainly accomplished what it set out to do. However, both knew its real power lay within Lovense Remote app control.
The Lovense Remote app is how you can fine-tune the movements of the Solace for edging delights. You can adjust the stroke length, speed, and patterns in any number of ways. Most importantly, the controls are easy to visualize so you or your partner can make split-second adjustments.
I used the VibeMate app for video action when my partner wasn’t available. There is something so erotic about watching an actor on screen and feeling stimulation yourself in real-time with their movements. However, when I had longer sessions, I did notice that the actions were sometimes not 100% synchronized. This was a minor flaw and I believe this will be fixed in future updates.
Out of the two sleeves, gender-neutral and vaginal, I opted for the gender-neutral (image above) one more frequently. I found the vaginal to be too tight, even though it is a more realistic feeling.

My partner and I are particularly fond of that last feature, especially when we get involved in group play. Minor issues I found during testing
Unfortunately, nothing in life is perfect, and even while masturbating, we can find flaws in how we do it. The biggest issue to consider before buying your own Lovense Solace is the girth of your penis. If you are larger than 6.5 x 2.5 inches, it can be too tight and cause the machine to bog on the downward stroke. Consider Max 2 in that case, as it accommodates larger men.
Secondly would be the noise level. As mentioned above, it will not be a secret while using it, so consider your wanking surroundings before purchasing.
Lastly is drying the sleeve. Because it is close-ended drying, it takes longer than other sleeves. No biggie but I thought it’s worth mentioning.
