How to Use the Lovense Vulse?
- Preparation: I always clean a new toy before using it. Just give it a quick wash with soap and warm water and you’re ready to go. I find that Lovense toys always come with some charge, but if you want to be extra sure, go ahead and charge it up fully before you begin. It goes without saying that you should not use it WHILE it is charging unless you want a different sort of electrifying experience!
- Lube up: Use as much lube as you need for insertion, but just make sure you use water-based lubricant. Silicone-based lubricant will degrade the coating on the Lovense Vulse and thereafter using it will be a nightmare.
- Go through the motions: Press and hold the ON/OFF button (at the end of the slim stem) for 3-5 seconds. If it vibrates once, that means your Lovense Vulse is on. Quick press the same button to cycle through the preset vibrations and thrusts. You can do this either before or after you have inserted the Lovense Vulse.
- Customize your experience using the app: Vulse will connect seamlessly to the Lovense Remote mobile app (free to download). My Personal Experience
After trying the Lovense Vulse, I came to realize that vibrations alone are not enough for me when it comes to internal stimulators. Inside the box was everything I needed to get started right away without messing around too much. There was the Lovense Vulse, of course, along with a USB charging cord (which connects magnetically to the toy), a short user manual, and a handy black storage bag.
Build Quality
From the first time you hold a Lovense product, its high quality becomes ever so apparent. Vulse is both sturdy and flexible right where it needs to be. The thrusting egg feels slightly squidgey and I found it easy to insert with just a touch of water-based lube (you may need more, and that’s absolutely fine too.)
Once inside, it transforms into a powerhouse, capable of thrusting hard up to 120 times a minute on the highest setting. When you’re done, the slim arm is easy to grip for secure and effective removal.
Design
I was very impressed by the comfortable design of the Lovense Vulse. It was very easy to insert due to its tapered head (you can see a closeup of the head in the below image). The ridges did not feel invasive as I slid the egg inside me. Once fully inside, I did feel some pressure, but not the sort that causes discomfort.
Best of all, it felt secure. Not once did I worry that it would slip out, even when I was wandering about outdoors with it thrusting hard inside of me! The slim arm that stays on the outside does not get in the way if you’re moving about or pairing with other toys, and I love how sturdy it is when used to control and remove. It only comes in a confident shade of red but I think this is befitting of its abilities!
Materials
One of the main reasons why it is so comfortable is because Vulse is coated in soft, body-safe silicone. This feature also helps it glide in easily compared to inferior materials. In fact, anyone who uses toys on the regular knows that a high-quality coating like this is non-negotiable. Additionally, the Lovense Vulse is waterproof, easy to clean, and does not smell of harsh chemicals.
Ease of use
The Lovense Vulse is one of the easiest toys I have ever used. If you go the manual route, all you have to do is pop the egg in and navigate a single button! The first three presses deliver steady vibrations, and after that, you get ten different patterns. (You can see me demonstrating the manual control in the image below.)
However, for a more customized experience, you will have to familiarise yourself with the Lovense Remote mobile app. Luckily, this is not difficult in the least and the rewards are worth the effort. Having said that, I do know some people who might find the interactive features overwhelming, but you don’t need to use all of them to have a good time; just go with what feels good.

Stimulations
I would say that the Lovense Vulse is more buzzy than it is rumbly. By that, I mean that the vibrations do not feel as deep compared to rumblier toys. However, the thrusting feature does even things out, and with the Lovense Remote mobile app, you get to customize the vibe-thrust balance according to your needs. (Below I snapped a photo of the device fully extended so you get an idea of how far it thrusts).
I often prefer rumblier toys but these can deliver too much too soon. I personally felt that the buzzy vibes and varied thrusts of the Vulse, used in combination with other toys, such as my Le Wand massager, delivered a much fuller and more satisfying orgasm!
Versatility
Without a doubt, it was designed to be a versatile toy capable of delivering different experiences. I have a few play partners in different parts of the country, so giving some of them the power to play from afar has been very satisfying, even for short bursts. I’ve also enjoyed experimenting with different combinations of vibrations and thrusting while on my own. I think it’s helped me get to know my body a bit better too!
Sound Level
On low mode, the Lovense Vulse is about 62.5dB, whereas, on high mode, it’s about 65.9 dB – these are all within range of a normal conversation. However, I would say that it is more discreet to use the Lovense Vulse in the bedroom than it is outside. There’s just something about the thrusting motion that makes a louder sound compared to other internal stimulators that are just vibrating sans thrust.

App Control
The Lovense Vulse is fantastic when controlled with the Lovense Remote mobile app (screenshots below) within a close distance. It’s super easy to connect and once you’re in, you can use the Float function to maintain constant speeds. To speed things up or slow things down, all you have to do is move the on-screen dot that says “Vulse.” Alternatively, you could use the Loop function, which allows you to draw a pattern on the screen with your finger and get the toy to repeat that pattern. This is great for exploring what works for you.

Minor issues I found during testing
I found it very strange that I was not able to control the vibration and thrusting separately when I used the app because when I have used other Lovense toys, such as the Lovense Ridge (a set of anal beads that vibrate and rotate), I was able to control vibration and rotation functions using separate toggles on the Lovense Remote mobile app. However, with Lovense Vulse, you’re moving one toggle on the screen and adjusting vibrations and thrusting at the same time. Maybe Lovense will release an update soon, or maybe Lovense is confident that its vibe-thrust balance is sound; who knows? Either way, it wasn’t a deal-breaker for me.

Cleaning the Lovense Vulse is easy peasy, so do it religiously before and after using the toy.
