My Personal Experience
From the time I knew I was going to review the app-controlled Hismith 4.0 Premium Sex Machine, my partner and I were excited to try out all the functionality, especially the smartphone app.
First and foremost, I was absolutely blown away by how stable this stayed even at higher speeds. The metal bars did wiggle slightly with the dildo on it, but it didn’t affect the overall stability. I did test the toy at its max speed of 100 to see about its stability, but I didn’t use it at that speed. It was too fast for me, but that’s just a matter of preference. The perfect speed for me was between 15-20. And it was so intense that I couldn’t use it for long, either. About ten minutes was enough to get there, and then I needed a break.
The stroke length was perfect as well. Some sex toys overestimate how long the stroke length can comfortably be, but Hismith nailed it by offering the ability to adjust it from one to six inches so that people of different shapes and sizes can enjoy this app-controlled sex machine. Some different toys on sale by Hismith come in an array of colors, and the attachments vary a lot based on which model you buy. I liked that they had some made specifically for anal sex and other groups of people since not everyone will want the typical G-spot dildo experience.
Something unique about this toy is that it has LED lights. It upgraded the sensory experience of penetration, and the lights were a fun addition in a dark room. This is one of the most giftable sex machines I’ve ever unboxed. As you can see in the image below, everything comes packaged nicely in a black duffel bag, and the foam inserts ensure that it looks organized at first glance and will stay organized well after use.
Note: there is a lot of plastic involved in the packaging. Every piece is covered in plastic, and nearly everything is shrink-wrapped, which helps keep it intact and looking sharp after shipping, but it’s not the greenest way to go. It also makes the first-time setup take quite a bit longer.
Design
The design language is modern, functional, and efficient. After I put it together, it looked a little like an exercise bike with a dildo on the end and sounded like a treadmill. However, I quickly forgot about the gym-like aesthetics when I saw how powerful and fast the motor was. The design of the motor? Chef’s kiss!
Material
The machine is made of sturdy aluminum alloy, which is easy to clean and quite sturdy. The elastic cover and duffel bag are sturdy and seem to be washable.
The dildo, which you can see in the above image, is made of liquid silicone. Silicone is body-safe, but this is different from most of the silicone dildos I’ve used before. It feels like skin and is slightly tackier than the silky, sultry dildos you find from other brands. The skin-like texture is going to attract dust, no question. You’ll want to keep this dildo in its case so that it stays relatively clean between uses. However, the dildo’s material adds to its overall realistic aesthetic.
Stimulations

Sound Level
Sex machines aren’t quiet, and expecting to find one that’s quiet is kind of like expecting a blizzard in August in Florida. It’s not going to happen.
When you turn the Hismith on, it makes a loud whirring sound that pitches up as it increases in speed. This toy is quieter than I expected, but it’s something you’ll want to save for when no one is home. You could turn on loud music and cover up some of the sound, but if you have thin walls, you’re out of luck. When I tested it, the decibels ranged from 37 to 61, which you can see in the image below.
Safety
The manufacturer didn’t cut corners on safety. It has features like short circuit protection, over-current protection, over-voltage protection, and over-temperature protection. However, if you use it in a way that’s incongruent with the instructions, you can get hurt.
There is also a little yellow warning on the toy not to stick your fingers into the part that rotates. It’s critical to heed this warning as the motor is powerful enough that your fingers will certainly pay the price if you do not.
Lastly, don’t adjust the angle of the toy or the thrust length while the toy is on. Adjust it, insert the dildo, and then turn the toy on to keep yourself safe.
Assembly
I’ll be the first to admit: when I started unboxing the Hismith, I was intimidated. It came in a heavy black duffle bag (image below), and there were two layers of heavy pieces to assemble. I exchanged a worried glance with my partner, who knows better than anyone how terrible I am at assembling things. That bodes well for me as a sex machine reviewer—because anything even relatively complicated would stump me.
However, when I started putting it together, I found that the instructions were straightforward and helpful. The first time I put it together, it took just over twenty minutes, but I was taking my time to make sure I did everything exactly right. Routine assembly would take five minutes or less.
One thing I noticed is that the power cord locks into place. The first time, I put it together without aligning the power cord correctly. The power cord has little notches around the end, and you must align them or the toy won’t turn on. I didn’t see anything about that in the instruction manual, so it took me a moment to figure out since the power cord feels connected even when it’s not. The notches are tiny, so you have to look for them.
Pro Tip: you don’t need the little Allen wrench for setup, just the larger size. The reason it comes with the little Allen wrench is that you’re supposed to oil this every three months (though, at another part in the manual, it says monthly) for maintenance. The main rod will need heat-resistant gear oil to be ready for action. If you don’t use it often, you may need to oil it monthly.
Heat
When people use sex machines, many are concerned that they will heat up after extended periods of use. After all, my regular vibe does, so why wouldn’t a machine?
When I tested it, I found that after about ten minutes of use on setting 50 (which is the halfway point of settings), it wasn’t hot in the slightest. I tested it for another twenty minutes after that, and around the twenty-minute point, the engine got slightly warm but not hot. I tested it again, and after forty-five minutes of use, it was warm but not hot. I’ve had vibrators that get hotter after 45 minutes.
Hismith App Features and Remote Control
The Hismith Ultimate Pleasure App (screenshot below) added some key functionality to this sex machine, and it’s relatively simple to learn how to use. When you download the Hismith app, it requests an email address to send you a code. Then, you enter the code in the app, but you only have 90 seconds to do so. The first time, I thought it didn’t send me a code within 90 seconds, but that’s because it went straight to my spam folder, so check there if you don’t see the code immediately. This was a common complaint about the app, but it’s just a matter of checking your spam folder.
Then, it asks for your gender, but it has an option for nonbinary or trans, which I appreciated. I love an inclusive sex toy app! You enter a username and then input your location, birthday, and phone number. It felt like a slightly invasive amount of information needed to get started, but I went with it. After that, you are brought to a home screen. If you click the symbol at the top right of the home screen, it says, “Search for Bluetooth devices.” After you’re connected, the fun begins!
The community part of the Hismith app functions a bit like social media. Your profile will list your username and zodiac sign, and you can follow other people on the Hismith app, just like Facebook or Instagram. You can add interests, a bio, a voice signature, a picture, and more. From your profile, you can message or greet other people, interact, like, follow a topic, comment, and block. There’s a little bit of redundancy on the app and several of the functions lead you to the same result. But, you can read about what others are doing and even ask a stranger to operate the toy for you. I wasn’t that brave, but the option is out there for interested people.
There’s an option for group play, too, so you can play with more than one person at once. However, when I tried it, there was only one group active, so you may not be able to find people quickly. Some groups only let people they know in, but if you and your friends have this toy, you could start your own group. You can add dirty talk to the rhythms you create and share them with strangers and you can also use rhythms that other people have created and have names like “realistic hard 1” or “deep anal loving.”
You can see the pattern, how long it lasts, and how many other people have liked this rhythm before getting started. There’s also a store so you can purchase different add-ons for your toy, like a dildo that vibrates, a double penetration dildo, or a larger size dildo. It’s convenient, especially if you want to play with some new attachments.
Overall, I didn’t think the Hismith app didn’t quite live up to the Lovense app, but it had a great combination of function and fun which should be good enough for most users. My biggest qualm is that the app is listed as 17+, but this should definitely be 18+ only.
The Hismith app has relatively low reviews, and there are a few reasons for that. It would be helpful to be able to search for modes using a keyword, but the app doesn’t have this capability right now. Also, there’s no way to ensure the app doesn’t turn off during use, and having to touch the screen repeatedly to ensure the toy doesn’t turn off can be a pain, especially if you’re using it for a while. These could be improvements for a future update.
Build Quality and Dimensions
Sex machines are not small, discreet toys that you use and then can hide in your nightstand. They’re large and in charge, and they could take up most of the shelf in your closet. That’s the case with this toy, too. Even if you disassemble it and put it in the duffle bag that it’s shipped in, it’s still going to take up some space. For me, this wasn’t an issue. But if you have space constraints, it will be tough for you to buy a true sex machine of any sort. The build quality is excellent. It is heavy enough that it stays put even during the maximum speed of 100. Plus, even though you can adjust the height and angle at which the toy is used, it feels quite sturdy. I couldn’t believe it.
The thrust depth was adjustable, which was perfect for me. You can adjust it to a length that means that the silicone balls won’t hit you uncomfortably and the dildo won’t come all the way out, forcing you to stop the toy and reposition.
Ease of Use
This toy is incredibly powerful and versatile, but it’s not the easiest to use. It takes a bit of dedication, and there is a short learning curve. Plan on a little setup time and some time to adjust to the app-controlled toy. You’ll want to download the Hismith app to get the most out of it, and it can take some tinkering before you learn your way around.
Next, it would be nice if it came with a wireless remote. This version has a remote that plugs in, which you can see in the image above. Further, this toy requires a bit of maintenance. You must oil it at least quarterly to keep it in tip-top shape. Yes, the maintenance is a little bit of an investment, but if you love thrusting, it will easily be worth it to you.
Versatility
The Hismith 4.0 Premium is endlessly versatile, thanks to the app and the ability to get different attachments. So many positions are possible with the Hismith 4.0. The four that the website recommends are doggie style, woman on top, woman on top for anal, and standing position. I was also able to comfortably lay on my back and angle the toy downward for penetration. Further, the standing positions may present a size issue. The way you set the toy up, the machine is vertical, with the toy added to the length. So, you’ll have to be fully standing (if you’re tall) or be suspended from a sex swing to help you get to the correct height for a comfortable playtime.
The positions are pretty much endless, but you’ll have to be precise with the angle before getting started, especially with a firm dildo. The firmer the dildo, the more precise you’ll have to be. Fortunately, the dildo that comes with the machine is incredibly flexible, so you don’t have to adjust the exact inch down before getting started.
After trying it out, I think some other positions could be fun with this toy as well. Spooning, standing, and lying on your stomach are all options.
How Can Camgirls Use It?
There wasn’t a clear way to monetize usage on the Hismith app that I could see. For this reason, cammers would be better off with something like the Lovense Sex Machine. However, if you don’t need the app as a way for someone to tip to operate the machine, you could use this as part of a cam show, though the audience won’t be as much a part of the action.
