OhMiBod Esca 2 Review 2024: A Few Things You NEED To Know!

You know when you’re on a date and think this dinner is nice, but I wish a vibrating G-spot sex toy were discreetly pleasuring me? Or, maybe you’re in a long-distance relationship and want long-distance control over your partner’s orgasm. If so, the OhMiBod Esca2 Powered by KIIROO solves your problems. With many options for where and how to use it, I was excited to start testing this popular sex toy!

Key Takeaways
4.5 out of 5 stars

I loved exploring Esca’s remote control functions and vibration patterns. As far as wearable vibrators go, it’s unique and provide many options to bring the spark back into long-distance relationships (or public play activities). Highly recommended!

Who Should Try It? Esca 2 is an excellent option if you want a vibrator for your long-distance relationship. The motor is also very quiet, making it a great choice for couples into discreet public play.

Who Can Skip It? It’s probably better to buy a cheaper egg vibrator, like Lovehoney Thrill Seeker or the Mantric Egg, if you’re not specifically after the app functionality.

You Can Buy It on the official Kiiroo website for $109.99.

What Is OhMiBod Esca 2?

OhMiBod Esca 2 is a wearable (for public play) and app-controlled (for long-distance play) vibrator. But the Esca 2 has more to offer than that—it’s perfect for burgeoning G-spot stimulation enthusiasts, people who prefer a hands-free toy, those in long-distance relationships, and those who like to experiment with vast and varied app settings.

The wearable vibrator seems straightforward at first glance, but there’s a lot you’ll want to take some time to get to know. After all, two companies (OhMiBod and Kiiroo) collaborated to make this ingenious long-distance sex toy.

Essentially, the Esca2 is a G-spot vibrator you can control with an app to sync up the sensations to music, background noise, or the touch of your partner’s finger. Plus, it has the bonus of a light show!

First Impressions and Features

OhMiBod Esca 2 key features at a glance:

  • Material: Body-safe silicone and ABS plastic
  • Size: 7.3” x 1.3”
  • Color: Purple
  • Mechanism: App controllable, wearable G-spot vibrator

The content of the box

Packaging

The packaging is perfectly adequate. It comes in a durable white box with a USB charging cable, manual, and a white, satin storage pouch—everything you need to get the party started but nothing over-the-top luxurious. Though it doesn’t come with a separate remote control, you can use the toy with an app while in Bluetooth mode.

Material

I love the material of the OhMiBod Esca 2. If you have silicone sex toys, you know how some silicone is softer than others. This toy has that extra soft feeling. Plus, it’s body-safe, which is a necessity.

OhMiBod Esca 2

The only thing I don’t love is it’s splashproof—not completely waterproof—so don’t bring this toy in the bathtub with you.

Dimensions

The Esca 2 is only 7.3” long, making it small enough to fit in most purses for on-the-go pleasure.

Design

The body of the Esca2 is super flexible, and purple is the only color option.

How To Charge Esca2?

The Esca 2 doesn’t have a magnetic charger—the charging port is the type where you puncture a tiny hole in the side with the battery charger. Though I prefer magnetic chargers, I had zero issues charging this toy.

The device charging

The user manual suggested the Esca 2 battery life would last up to three hours, but mine vibrated for three hours and nine minutes after an initial charge. Way to underestimate yourself, Esca! The manual also said around an hour and a half of charge time, but mine charged in only one hour and twenty-four minutes. I love a sex toy company that doesn’t disappoint you with overhyped battery life expectations.

The storage bag

Warranty and Support

The Ohmibod Esca 2 comes with a one-year warranty against defects. Another bonus is that they accept unopened returns, which many sex toy companies are unwilling to do.

How To Use OhMiBod Esca 2?

  1. After you charge and clean your Esca 2, grab some water-based lube and place the bulbous end inside against your G-spot.
  2. The tail remains outside your body and is a retrieval cord to pull out the device once you’re finished.
  3. To turn it on, press the button for three to four seconds until the tip blinks.
  4. To use the manual controls (rather than the app), press the power button three more times.
  5. There are three vibration patterns: the first vibration mode is continuous vibration, and the following two rhythms are reminiscent of crashing waves.
  6. There are also three intensity settings: low, medium, and high.
  7. After you cycle through these vibration settings, the next button press turns the device off after you hold it for three to four seconds.

How To Use The OhMiBod Remote App?

To use the OhMiBod remote app, first, you need to pair your toy with your device. But it’s important to note there are two apps you can use: the OhMiBod remote app and the FeelConnect app by Kiiroo. Once you select which you want to use first, download the app, which will give you prompts to help you pair the device.

If it doesn’t work the first time (it didn’t for me), turn your Esca 2 off and then back on again, and try pairing it again. Also, ensure you enable your phone’s Bluetooth settings before you start. It might be you turned the toy on too early in the process.

Esca 2 and the smartphone app

Once you get it paired with the OhMiBod remote app, there are several ways to play with the Esca 2. Let your partner control it long-distance if you like. Or, they could manipulate it next to you in bed.

You have several options for how to use the OhMiBod remote app. You can add partners, and once you have partners, you can even start a chat. If you allow the app to pair with your camera, you can make video calls, add a profile picture, and scan QR codes if you so choose. You can sync it with music or use your finger to control the intensity. There’s a lot to explore in this app!

There are four options under the FeelConnect control screen: touch control, presets, clap control, and local connect.

With the touch control, you can operate the vibration pattern with your finger. The clap control turns your Esca 2 into a sound-activated toy, perfect for listening to sexy music while you have a sexy time.

My Personal Experience

There were a lot of fun settings to explore with this toy. Feel free to make yourself comfortable because this review will be comprehensive.

Ease Of use

When I first tried it out, I was thankful that the bulbous head wasn’t overly large, which is excellent for people who, like me, aren’t size queens. It’s on the smaller side for G-spot toys, making it ideal for beginners.

A little bit of water-based lube makes insertion perfectly comfortable. But people who believe bigger is better may want to find a thicker or longer toy to play with.

G-Spot Stimulations

The vibration intensity did not disappoint. It’s reasonably strong and not in a buzzy way. There are only three settings in manual mode, though, meaning that people who like an extensive stimulation spectrum may be disappointed.

The LED light on the tip of the Esca 2 functions as visual feedback to signal how strong or mild the vibrations are, which is helpful for cluing your partner in to how much stimulation you are getting.

The light settings were fascinating, and I’m not sure if they were an advantage or a disadvantage overall. The light is bright, really bright, and I could see it through my sheet and comforter.

Clitoral Stimulations

Something else to note is there isn’t a motor at the tip of the Esca 2—it functions primarily as an LED light. You won’t feel much in the way of clitoral stimulation, even though there are very slight transferred vibrations from the base.

Plus, the neck is so flexible it doesn’t exactly stay put once you’ve placed it where you want it. I’m relatively sensitive and didn’t think the residual clit stimulation was enough.

I wouldn’t recommend this if you need clitoral vibration to climax unless you’re planning on using the base of it externally, in which case, the vibrations produced are plenty powerful.

Sound Level

Once positioned correctly, you can’t hear it at all. It’s super quiet for how powerful it is, making it quite discreet and perfect for people with nosy roommates. I tried it, and even my partner standing in the same room couldn’t hear it on the highest vibrations over the sound of our air purifier.

Battery Life

I was also pleased with how much battery life the Esca 2 provides. It lasts up to (or, in my case, longer than) three hours, perfect for longer sessions. That’s pretty impressive since the vibration strength is intense, too. Sex toys rarely have excellent vibration strength and battery life in the same package.

The Esca 2 lights up when it charges, so charge it somewhere you’re not trying to get any sleep. You can’t control the light independently from the vibrations, which is a bummer. However, the LED light does bring a club vibe to your underwear if that’s the atmosphere you like.

Wearable Functionality

Further, it’s also listed as a wearable vibe, which means something you wear out and about. It’s discreet enough shape-wise, though if you’re wearing something skintight, you might want layers to hide the bulb. And it’s certainly quiet enough to bring out for a night of self-pleasure. But unless you get the settings just right, the bright purple LED light in your pants will probably tip people off that something is up.

And since there’s only one button, you must cycle through all the settings if you’re using the toy in manual mode. Using the app, you can turn the toy off straightaway. But if your phone dies during your sexy night out, it will be bright-purple-pants-light city. And everyone in the restaurant will probably understand why you seemed to overly enjoy your dinner.

Another cool feature is that you can pair this device with any other Kiiroo toy, so you and your partner can have synchronized sex toy fun together.

FeelConnect vs. OhMiBod App

There is a slight downside to the fact that two different companies (OhMiBod and Kiiroo) are collaborating on this toy: the app setup is slightly confusing because there are two apps you can choose from. Both apps allow you to use the toy in Bluetooth mode. The link you got from the Kiiroo website takes you to an app called FeelConnect, but if you go nose around the OhMiBod website, you can find another app called Oh!, which is the OhMiBod remote app.

Technically, the OhMiBod remote app is for solo play (but the app has an option for remote use), and the FeelConnect is for long-distance partner play (but you can also use the app for local play). They have so many overlapping features, and the purpose of each wasn’t immediately clear. If you buy the toy from the Kiiroo site, the only app you’re directed to is FeelConnect. But if you buy it from the OhMiBod site, you’ll be guided to both.

To be thorough, I tried each app to see if they would both work with the Esca 2, and they both did. The FeelConnect app was slightly easier to pair, but it didn’t have as much functionality as the Oh! app.

The Oh! app has much more functionality and ways to connect with a nearby partner. Plus, the OhMiBod app looks like it was made to work with the toy. The FeelConnect app feels more like a third-party app you can use with this toy. Both give you touch control so the vibrations will match the movement of your finger, and you can pair rhythmic vibrations with music or take advantage of preset patterns—so you won’t be bored by using the same pattern repeatedly.

Both apps have chatting capability. Overall, since Kiiroo and OhMiBod collaborated on the toy, it would have been a good idea to collaborate on the app, too, so you only need one to access all of the functionality.

How To Use The Oh! App?

The Oh! is billed as their new and improved OhMiBod app, and I tried connecting it to my Esca 2. The Bluetooth connection was a bit fussy, and getting it to respond to touch reliably was a feat. The Bluetooth connectivity was tough to use at first, and using the video chat feature will mean you need a reliable connection.

Screenshots from the Oh! app

But there were upsides, too. For instance, if you have an Apple Watch, you can use its Pulse function to feel your partner’s heartbeat—a fun and intimate way to stay connected to a long-distance partner.

The rhythm screen allows you to use preset rhythms and save your favorites for future use. It also has a tap sequence option and Club Vibe mode (which syncs with music), which is unique to this app.

The OhMiBod app is the only one with an Oh!dometer where you can create an orgasm log and collect sexy data about yourself. It even lets you set goals! For masturbating! I love this idea. New Year’s resolutions will be so much more fun next year.

Plus, you can even log an orgasm and then message your partner afterward as a flirtatious way to let them know they’ve been on your mind.

How To Use The FeelConnect App?

The sound-activated setting in the FeelConnect app was fun to experience, too. The app calls it “clap control,” which turns the vibrations up or down based on the sounds it picks up. You can adjust how sensitive it is, too, so you don’t have to have your partner clapping loudly and quickly throughout sex, which in my experience, feels a bit too enthusiastic.

Screenshots from the FeelConnect App

If you set it so that even the slightest noise turns on the vibration function, low voice levels are enough to ensure vibration consistency. But you may not want to talk (or sing, or whatever other noises you make—I’m not here to judge) constantly until you climax.

The app allows you to chat, a nice feature for people who want to keep their sexy texts separate in a phone they may also use for business-related interactions.

Review Summary

Stimulation4.7 out of 5 stars
Features4.8 out of 5 stars
Cleanup4.2 out of 5 stars
Price4.4 out of 5 stars
Overall Rating4.5 out of 5 stars

Overall, I loved exploring the remote control functions and vibration patterns that the Esca 2 offered. As far as wearable vibrators go, this one is unique and provides a ton of options to upgrade your long-distance connection.

Pros

  • Bluetooth mode is excellent for long-distance play
  • A white satin storage pouch makes this toy travel-friendly
  • Strong, rumbly vibrations
  • Light adds different dimensions of fun
  • Sound-operated functions
  • Quiet motor
  • Versatile, wearable massager for discreet public play
  • Pairs with the FeelConnect or OhMiBod app for hands-free play
  • A great vibrator for cam performers.

Cons

  • Splashproof, not waterproof
  • The manual mode vibration patterns are a bit limited
  • The interactive LED light is bright when charging
  • A bit pricey at $109
  • The app control setup is slightly confusing, and the app quality could be improved

Who Should Try It

If you want a vibrator for your long-distance relationship, this is a great choice. There are plenty of ways to make this a bonding long-distance or in-person experience.

Plus, the vibrations are strong enough that someone new to G-spot stimulation can use this as a clitoral vibrator if they decide they don’t like internal sensations (but, due to the shape, this vibe works best for broad stimulation lovers rather than pinpoint).

It’s also an excellent option for people who like to control a sex toy with an app rather than using their fingers to find the button.

Who Can Skip This Sex Toy

If you don’t like internal stimulation or prefer to have internal and external stimulation simultaneously, this toy won’t live up to your expectations.

People who primarily do self-pleasure in the bathtub will also want to find a different sex toy since this one isn’t waterproof.

Lastly, if you’re not specifically in the market for remote-controlled long-distance sex toys, you can probably find something a bit cheaper to amp up your sex life.

How It Stacks Up Against Other OhMiBod Toys

Esca 1

The original Esca is no longer for sale through the retailer—but you might be able to find it on some third-party seller websites, which I do not recommend unless you like buying potentially used or knockoff sex toys.

However, OhMiBod upgraded the new Esca 2 in various ways from the original version. The metal ring has been replaced by ABS plastic, which is unquestionably a comfort upgrade. And the battery life has been extended as well. Lastly, the neck is a bit more flexible.

OhMiBod Lightshow

The OhMiBod Lightshow is another remote-controlled vibrator with corresponding lights. This sex toy only works with the Oh! app, and you can use it with your partner up to 26 feet away. It’s body-safe and a bit cheaper at only $99—but the battery will only last up to one hour.

OhMiBod blueMotion Nex 1 – Second Generation

On the more expensive side is the OhMiBod blueMotion Nex 1 – Second Generation, which I will from here on out refer to as the Nex 1 because otherwise, this review will turn into a novel. The Nex 1 is a panty vibe and comes with a set of panties. However, since the blue lace thong it comes with is one-size-fits-all, there’s a good chance it won’t fit since nothing fits everyone.

The Second Generation costs $129 and is discreet enough for public play.

OhMiBod blueMotion Nex 2 – Second Generation

The Nex 2 is an app-controlled G-spot vibrator. The Nex 1 and the Nex 2 have little to do with each other, other than the same company developed both. So, though the names are similar, don’t expect a similar experience. The Nex 2 is a large internal G-spot vibrator that wouldn’t work well for public or discreet play and will set you back $129.

OhMiBod Lumen

Lumen’s full name is Lumen Presented by OhMiBod Powered by Kiiroo, meaning another collaboration between the two companies. The Lumen is a vibrating butt plug: a great couple’s toy since people of any gender can use it. You could get matching Lumens and sync them to the same settings to enjoy together—an adorable way to masturbate, no matter how far apart you are.

Plus, this toy is compatible with the FeelConnect app and the Oh! app, making it perfect for long-distance partners.

Alternatives to the OhMiBod Esca 2

In this chapter, you can see a comparison table and shorter reviews of alternative products we tested. As you can see, each row has the test criteria our team used during the testing. To make our testing process even more transparent, we also included the raw test data so you can see how the products performed with each test criteria.

Lovense Lush 3

The Lovense Lush 3 is a vibrating egg for long-distance relationships, similar to the OhMiBod Esca 2. It has won our best app-controlled egg vibrator, the best remote control public vibrator, and the best Bluetooth vibrator. The Lovense Lush 3 is a bit more expensive at $199, but it’s also a sex toy that’s hard to beat.

OhMiBod Esca 2 and Lovense Lush 3

I found the Lovense Lush 3 app interface a bit easier to use. The Lovense app has an alarm feature (for a very adult getting-out-of-bed-in-the-morning experience). Plus, you can download rhythms that other users have saved to discover how people you’ve never met like to masturbate.

However, the Lush doesn’t have the tap feature that the Esca 2 does, which allows you to have staccato vibrations and create your own patterns rather than only having long, continuous vibrations.

Lovense is probably a better vibe for cam models since you can create a link to share with strangers and let them control the vibration mode for a limited time. Then again, the antenna bulb on the Esca 2 would also be a fun feature for cammers’ audiences to play with.

I also found the ease of connecting to the app to be a plus for the Lovense Lush 3, and it’s the only one you can bring in the tub—since the Esca 2 isn’t waterproof.

Esca 2 is a bit smaller and rounder overall, and the Lush 3’s shape puts extra pressure on the G spot. In addition, Lush 3 has stronger vibrations and a magnetic charger, which can be a bit easier to use.

However, the reduced price tag, the fact that it’s quieter, and the sensory addition of the lights on the OhMiBod Esca 2 may make this toy the better choice for some. Read the full Lovense Lush 3 review here.

Mantric Rechargeable Egg Vibrator

For those on a budget, the Mantric Rechargeable Egg Vibrator may be your top pick. It costs just $79.99, has a travel lock feature, is made of body-safe silicone, is exceptionally discreet, and has seven vibration patterns to choose from. However, the motor is much less powerful, which is a significant tradeoff.

How To Clean Esca2?

Unfortunately, there are a lot of seams on this sex toy compared with most. A seam around the power button and a belt around the toy, plus the charging hole, could be tricky to clean.

Cleaning Sex Toys In The Sink

Additionally, the brand name “OhMiBod for Kiiroo” is indented, and so is the charging button. So, it needs to be cleaned thoroughly and often with a toothbrush.

Mine routinely got white sheet fuzz caught in the “OhMiBod for Kiiroo” logo, so keep that in mind if you hate toys that are tough to clean. In general, wash it with warm, mild soap water, being careful not to submerge it since it’s not waterproof. Let it air dry after.

Thanks for reading my OhMiBod Esca 2 review!
