My Personal Experience
Introduction
When I review toys like the Marilyn Monroe Womanizer, I sometimes worry that they will be gimmicky, that they were designed to be an impulse buy for those who are big fans of the actor herself, and that the clitoral stimulation will be disappointing. I always hope I’m wrong, of course, but it’s difficult to tell if some of the quality has been sacrificed in service of the design.
Happily, after testing this suction toy, I can report it’s not the case. This toy is essentially a clone of the Classic 2 since it’s a limited edition of that toy, and it has the same amount of power, features, and the same ability to help you reach orgasm.
This toy doesn’t have a ton of versatility, so there are only a few ways to test it. And when I did, it succeeded on every front. It was easy to grip in the shower, tub, or bed. It looks well-designed and is easy to clean and store. The noise isn’t too loud, and it’s small enough that you can use it during partnered sex in some positions.
If you like intense suction, this toy will knock it out of the park. The suction is so intense that, if you are more sensitive like I am, you may wish there were a few more settings at the lower end of the intensity scale. However, if you want power, this toy has it.
I tried the Afterglow feature, and I think it’s groundbreaking. It can help sensitive people not feel pain post-orgasm, making multiple orgasms much more attainable.

Design
The design is excellent, and I think many people will fall in love with the black marble or white marble color of the vibe. However, I felt it didn’t look as sleek as the single-colored kind, but that’s subjective.
The rest of the vibe was brimming with quality, just like the rest of Womanizer’s vibes. The parts fit together well, and it feels sturdy and well-made.
The only other part of the design I didn’t love is the placement of the magnetic pins that attach the vibe to the magnetic charging cable. They are on the smaller end of the vibrator, so when you charge it, you have to balance it in the correct position, or the connection will break because the magnets aren’t strong. Then you’ll come home to an uncharged sex toy, which is everyone’s waking nightmare!
Material
This vibe is made out of silicone and soft-touch plastic. It’s great because it’s waterproof. Though it’s not the softest silicone I’ve felt, it’s still an excellent texture.
Stimulations
The sensations are typical for Womanizer toys—solid and intense. They feel a little bit poundy. There is a decent range of stimulations, starting at medium-low and growing to quite powerful.
Even though air pulses and suction are marketed as ways to masturbate without getting overstimulated, it’s important to note that these sensations are intense. If you are sensitive, you may have to use suction toys underwater, like I typically do. Some suction toys are lighter, and Womanizer is not one to make those kinds of toys. Sound Level
This suction vibe is relatively quiet but can get loud when you turn it on to higher intensity levels. However, the noise is much more muted when you position the device correctly.
When I tested the sound level, the decibels ranged between 55 and 68, roughly the same as a normal conversation.
Build Quality and Dimensions
The build quality is excellent, which is true of all Womanizer products I’ve tried. The dimensions are of average size for a suction vibe. And it’s worth noting that the body is long enough to hold easily, even when things get slippery after you’ve added lubricant. Ease Of Use
This suction vibe is relatively easy to use. The hardest part is getting it positioned correctly to create comfortable suction. Then, there are only three buttons you have to learn (image below), the power button, the plus, and the minus.
The lowest button turns it on and off by holding it for two seconds. Pressing it briefly also activates the Afterglow feature: when you are climaxing, tap the power button briefly, and it will reduce the toy’s intensity down to the lowest setting.
One minor aspect that detracts from its ease of use is that it has a standby mode. Standby mode is a feature meant to save battery so that if the toy accidentally gets turned on, the entire battery doesn’t drain. However, the standby mode is set for every ten minutes. Ten minutes is a lot shorter than it takes many women to masturbate, even though air pulses can speed up your masturbation sessions because of how intense they are.
While testing the battery, I had to keep turning it on, thanks to the standby mode, which was a slight hassle. But it’s much worse when you are nearing orgasm and the toy suddenly switches off! It could completely ruin the mood. To avoid this, you can press the plus or minus buttons periodically. However, I think it would be better if Womanizer switched the setting to activate after 15 or 20 minutes.
Versatility
This toy is somewhat versatile. It’s waterproof, so it’s safe for tub and shower excursions. It also comes with two sizes of heads (circled below), so you can use it with multiple vulva-having partners and be likely to find a good fit for your clit. Further, the shape of this toy is small and ergonomic enough that you can use it during partnered sex in specific positions, like spooning.
Aside from that, this suction vibe is not very versatile. It only works for clitoral suction, so if you do not enjoy that, you won’t find much use for this toy.
Warranty and Support
Womanizer provides a 5-year warranty for the Marilyn Monroe Special Edition. It doesn’t get much better than that!
Minor issues I found during testing:
One thing to consider is that it doesn’t have patterns; it only has consistent suction. So if you need rhythms to help vary the sensation, there are better toys than this one. This wasn’t the case for me, as I am a big fan of consistency.
Something I noticed is that the features seem to be mismatched. For instance, this device has an incredibly long-lasting battery and the Afterglow feature. These features are made to be perfectly conducive to lengthy masturbation sessions except for the somewhat intrusive standby function, which turns the toy off every ten minutes unless you’ve pressed a button to change the setting. Why would the battery need to last around five hours (which it does!) if it’s going to shut off every ten minutes? I think the two features are somewhat at odds with each other. I love the battery, but I wish the standby mode didn’t cut off the sensations as early as it does. If you like to edge during masturbation, this feature will be torture.
Lastly, I’m not exactly sure what makes this a Marilyn Monroe sex toy, and I feel strange about the idea of her being put post-mortem onto a sex toy. The box has her likeness on it, and the design is different. But she’s not here to say which kind of sex toys she likes—or even agree to appear on a sex toy box. She was a survivor of sexual abuse, and it feels iffy to me to slap her picture on a sex toy without her consent to do so (though her estate granted approval). Seeing her purely as an empowered sex symbol is reductive and not fully representative of what she was like.
