How We Picked The Products
When it comes to testing products, I think it takes a village! In addition to me, a certified sexologist, for product testing I also employ the help of a diverse test panel (including men and women with a wide variety of body shapes and sizes) to provide greater insight into the toys that feel ideal for everybody!
After browsing through some top-rated products on my favorite sites, like Lovense, Shevibe, and Lovehoney, I narrowed the search to 30 of the best wearable butt plugs. I then distributed the test samples to my team to be rated based on the following test criteria that we could measure on a scale from 0 to 100:
- Stimulations: Some models hit all the right spots, while others simply don’t. So we made sure to make it a priority to just add pleasant products in our review samples.

Minor issues we found during testing:
Though nearly perfect, there are a few things to be mindful of when considering purchasing this one. As with all silicone plugs, removing the scent entirely after using the Snug Plug can be difficult. Using it with a condom over it is a great way to increase its longevity.
Sizing the Snug Plug 2 can also be difficult since it sits right in the middle – slightly too large for beginners while not being large enough for experienced anal enthusiasts and our beloved size queens. Purchasing the wrong size is always a letdown – especially for a $54.99 plug.

Why we love Lovehoney Jewelled Heart:
If simple is more your style, then we’ve got just the thing! This small but mighty anal plug is the perfect size for all-day wear and has an absolutely adorable design to boot. Introducing the Lovehoney Jewelled Heart. Right off the bat, you can’t help but notice how feminine the design is. The heart-shaped base not only serves its purpose (to prevent you from getting it stuck in your bum) but looks good while doing it!
Initially, I was worried about how comfortable the heart shape would be since T-bar bases tend to be the optimal choice for preventing chafing. To my surprise, the curved base sat very comfortably between my cheeks. As you can see in the image below where I compare it to a battery, size-wise, it’s on the small side, which makes it an ideal choice for folks who are newer to anal use – though it won’t be satiating the appetites of more experienced butt play enthusiasts.
The size and shape plus the addition of a long and narrow neck, made wearing it for longer periods an absolute breeze. The weightier metal body also adds a sense of fullness that lighter silicone toys simply can’t match – just one of the reasons why I’m such a fan of metal anal models.
Another reason to fall in love with metal toys like the Lovehoney Jewelled Heart is the option to use them for temperature play! I found post-play cleanup to be especially easy, though I had to pay extra attention to ensure I got all the nooks and crannies in the jewel (zoomed in the image above).
