The vibrating prostate arm adjusts and then, according to the marketing materials, stays exactly where you put it, meaning it will be easier to fit most bodies. It also offers app control or long-distance control, so your partner can take the reins and control it from anywhere in the world, create your own vibration patterns, and stimulate the prostate and the perineum at once.

It’s funny that the Edge 2 came with two guides about how to use it, especially since the last toy I reviewed came with none. The guides are super short but necessary because this toy has a lot of functionality.
The user manual walks you through the basics of using the Edge 2: where to find the indicator light, power button, and charging port, all of which may not be obvious if this is your first sex toy purchase.
It also recommends you stop using it if it causes pain, which is always a bright idea. Anal play shouldn’t cause pain! No type of sex should be painful—unless you’re into pain.
Material
The body is made from body-safe silicone. It’s soft enough but not silky soft, as I’ve found is common for toys made for people with penises.
Dimensions
The Edge 2 is fairly sizable if you’re getting it for someone who has never used a prostate toy. However, with enough lube, it’s still doable.

Design
The shape is specifically designed to target your prostate. It’s also knobby so once you get it in place, it will stay in place, and it looks a bit like a crab claw.
Further, the Lovense Edge 2 is adjustable. That means you can stretch it wider or closer depending on where it hits your prostate so it has a better chance of comfortably stimulating your prostate.
Battery Life and Charging
The toy has a magnetic USB charging cable, which is my favorite charging system because you don’t have to worry if you did it the right way. The magnets do it all for you.
Connect the charger to the magnetic charging point, and you’re all set. The red light turns on to let you know it’s charging, but once the Edge 2 is ready, it turns off.
If you’re wondering whether you need to charge the Edge 2, you can check the battery level in the app, which is a handy feature. It’s especially hard for toy hounds like me to keep all toys charged at all times, so it’s super clutch to have a visual way to see how charged the toy is.
The user guide estimated that it would take 100 minutes to charge fully. I charged it initially without doing the battery test (because the initial charge is not representative of how long it will take.) Then, the second time I charged it, it took 100 minutes, exactly how long the manual said it would take. It lasted two hours and twenty-nine minutes—not bad at all for having such powerful motors!
Lastly, keep in mind that you should never use this or any other sex toy while charging. It’s just a bad idea all around.
Controls
The Lovense Edge 2 is reasonably simple to operate. It only has one button, which controls everything.
To turn it on, hold the power button for three to five seconds. It will briefly buzz once you’ve successfully turned it on. Then, continue to push this button to cycle through the different intensities and preset patterns.
The first settings are low, medium, and high, and then you go through the four patterns: pulse, wave, fireworks, and earthquake.
Then, hold the button down for three to five seconds to turn it off.
Lovense Remote App
The Lovense remote app is one of the best for long-distance play and lets your partner take complete control of your pleasure. It includes so much functionality that it’s a favorite of many cam performers who love the ability for people to tip to control the toy for a moment or two.

How To Use Lovense Edge 2?
After you charge and wash the Edge 2 with warm water and soap, you’ll want to grab your favorite water-based lube. Since the insertable arm is on the shapelier side, you’ll want to use even more lube than you’re used to.
- If you’ve never used a prostate toy before, consider lubing up your finger and inserting that first to get warmed up.
- Then, add some lube to the toy’s prostate arm and yourself, and gently slide the toy inside.
- Go over the first hump and take a break if needed, adding more lube if you feel like it. And then slide the Edge 2 in further.
It might take a few tries to find the best angle, especially if you’re not a seasoned prostate enthusiast. You have to balance the amount of pressure you want against your prostate and your perineum versus the possibility of a pinching feeling.
Don’t be afraid to take it out and bend it to a new shape if it’s not perfectly comfortable right from the jump.

My Personal Experience
My partner and I wanted to test drive all the unique settings offered by the prostate massager. So that’s exactly what we did.
Build Quality
This toy is marketed as adjustable, and I’m glad it mentioned this right on the box because it’s hard to tell from touching it. It feels stiff and like it shouldn’t bend much—so you have to use some arm strength to get it into the right shape.
Fortunately, the Edge 2 doesn’t break very easily, so it can withstand some pressure. However, you’ll still want to adjust it gently so you don’t cause damage to the toy. Keep gently pressing the flexible neck until it gives you the anal stimulation you want.
Note that you will unquestionably want to do this with the toy outside your body.
Ease Of Use
The upside to how stiff it is is that when you find the ultimate position, the toy will stay just where you put it for as long as you leave it in that position. So you only have to go through the process of finding the right shape for your body once.
Pro Tip: It took a while for my partner to get it in the sweet spot, but when he moved it far enough toward the almost perpendicular position rather than the C-shape claw, it felt extremely comfortable.
Stimulations
When my partner tried the vibrations, he was impressed by the powerful motors. Other vibrating prostate massagers we’ve tried in the past haven’t compared to the potency of this toy.
The Edge 2 has strong and rumbly vibrations—they’re undoubtedly on the very high end of the intensity scale. He preferred the low and medium settings since the high one was borderline overpowering. He also tried the different vibration modes but enjoyed the consistent buzz over everything else. Each preset pattern was fun to try, though.
How To Use The Lovense Remote App?
As far as apps go, Lovense has one of the best, if not the very best. It’s an absolute cinch to pair. And it makes the toy programmable so it can do just about anything you want.
For instance, you can operate the perineum arm and the insertable prostate arm of the Edge 2 separately while using the Lovense remote app. That way, if one of your parts is more sensitive than the other, you can create settings that perfectly pleasure both simultaneously.
Next, you can also set the maximum intensity lower using the app. This capability is fantastic, especially since the motor is so powerful. You can create a low, medium, and high setting that reflects your body’s preferences for those levels. Power hounds will be happy, but so will those who don’t want that much stimulation. It also means there is much more versatility than the three low, medium, and high settings that are available by pressing the power button.
After creating and saving these settings, the toy will remember them even if you disconnect it from your phone, making this toy feel super futuristic.
You can create your own patterns as well. The beauty is that you can make the vibration pattern as short and simple or as long and complicated as you want. Plus, you can loop them so that they infinitely replay as long as you’re using the Edge 2. You can even find patterns that other users created and made available for others. It’s more fun than we imagined to try out what other people like.
Other App Features
The Lovense remote app has so much that you can do with it. You can send messages so that your sexts are kept all in one place, rather than the way mine are, which are interspersed between grocery lists, information about our weekend plans, and other messages I’d need to reference in public. Having a separate app to keep your sexts in is a new level of adulting.
Another nice touch from the app: you can change the settings to keep the screen awake. That way, if you get swept up by one of the settings and aren’t actively using your phone for a minute, you can trust that you can quickly change the intensity when you feel the need. You won’t have to put in your password and get into the app again, which can be a mood killer.
The app is available in nine languages, making it an ideal choice for people from all over the globe.
Next, you can create an alarm for a specific time when the toy will start. I didn’t get much use out of this feature because I don’t nap while wearing sex toys. But people who do may love this capability.
Pro Tip: You can use the Lovense remote app in other fun ways, too. For instance, you can sync the toy to music by linking it to your Spotify or Alexa accounts.
You can also have it activated by sound, which would be extra fun if you used it at a concert. I was particularly fond of this setting, and when my partner tried it, I started screaming every so often to see how intense the Edge 2 would get. Was it erotic? No. Was it fun? You bet. There’s nothing quite like the confusion on your partner’s face when you are 1) screaming for no discernible reason and 2) every time you make noise, they get an intense buzz right in the P-spot. Highly recommend.
How To Use Edge 2 For Long-Distance Play?
We also used the app remotely to see how it worked.
The close-range Bluetooth connection worked like a charm, but so did the long-distance control. We never had a break in connectivity, which is impressive. Just make sure you have a good Internet connection before you get started.
How To Use Edge 2 For Public Play?
The Edge 2 is labeled suitable for discreet public play due to its discreetness. However, we found it a bit loud when we tried it.
Keep in mind that our house has super-thin walls, and if you sneeze upstairs, someone in the basement will yell, “Bless you!” But, when my partner used this upstairs, I could hear him turn it on and change the settings. If I had walked into the room and didn’t know that he might be using a sex toy, it wouldn’t have been 100% obvious. But since I knew what I was listening for, I could hear it. The noise level would work if you’re going to a concert or a rowdy club, but it wouldn’t work at a library or for high tea.
Even though it was loud, we tried to see if the toy would be suitable for public play. While he found it surprisingly comfortable to sit, walking with it inserted wasn’t quite as agreeable.
Pro Tip: If it’s uncomfortable while standing or lying down, try using it while sitting in a padded chair.
Perineum Vibrator
Further, we found that the perineum vibrator can help increase your arousal, so it might help you feel more in the mood, even if it takes a while to get the P-spot arm in the right spot. The combination of both prostate and perineum vibrations makes the Edge 2 more accessible to people who are unsure whether P-spot stimulation is something they’d enjoy.
If you tried some other prostate massager, you might not realize how pleasurable the P-spot stimulation can be unless you have the perineum vibrations paired with it because it can change the whole mood.
Another thing to consider is that if you use the external arm and the P-spot vibrator at the same intensity levels, they can wash each other out. My partner found that setting them to different levels was the way. If you move both arms up to the same intensity levels, it almost feels like they reach a resonant frequency and cancel each other out somewhat.
Pro Tip: To feel each motor separately, it’s a good idea to have them at different levels.
Versatility
Lastly, since I cannot stand to see anyone having fun without me, I tried this toy too. It’s a vibrator, right? I love vibrators! And it’s an incredibly powerful vibrator.
After completely sanitizing the toy (which you should always do when using each other’s sex toys or before you use the toy on a different part of your body), I gave the Lovense Edge 2 a try. And it worked for me as well.
So, if you have a clitoris and are concerned about whether or not your prostate-having partner would like this, rest assured you can use this as a backup vibrator if your partner isn’t into it.
For the record, I didn’t use it internally—I used it outside the pants, and it worked like a charm. But keep in mind, I’m on the sensitive side.

So Can You Climax With Edge 2?
While my partner would have liked to have the Lovense prostate massager bring him to prostate orgasm on its own (something most toys don’t do for him), this toy didn’t quite do it. But it added a new level of magic to his penis orgasms that he loved.

The original Lovense Edge was quite different from the redesigned, upgraded version of the prostate massager, the Edge 2.
For one, the original Edge didn’t have an adjustable arm—just the regular type of prostate massager arm that sits in one position whether you like it or not. Lovense changed the shape, too, adding a bulbous part above the adjustable neck so it will stay in one spot and not move around too much.
