Lelo Hugo Review 2024: A Few Things You NEED To Know!

Lelo Hugo and the remote controlProstate toys must surmount several hurdles to be universally enjoyable (or nearly). For one, they must be flexible to fit most bodies but sturdy enough to provide pleasurable fullness. And two, they must be easy to use. Since I don’t have a prostate, my partner let me borrow his P-spot when I tested the new Lelo Hugo.

Key Takeaways
4.5 out of 5 stars

My partner said that Lelo Hugo had the second strongest P-spot stimulation of the dozens of massagers he had tried, only surpassed by the powerful Lovense Edge 2. He could feel pleasure radiating both internally and externally, something many other products don’t offer. He also enjoyed the smaller size and that the shape prevented the toy from slipping, making it great for hands-free fun. While it didn’t necessarily mimic the feeling of pegging, it made partner play easy and felt a thousand times more luxurious than the typical rubber plug. The high-end extras (especially the remote control) make it well worth the splurge!

Who Should Try It? If you love prostate play and want to upgrade your current toy, Hugo is the one to do it with! On the other hand, if you’re new to prostate pleasure but want to experiment with the best of the best, it’s also an excellent choice.

Who Can Skip It? Hugo is slightly flexible and somewhat bendy, so people sharing it with their partner (after sterilizing, of course) may be better served by a more flexible toy. Further, people on a budget can find more affordable prostate massagers without so many bells and whistles. My partner provided this helpful information to help you choose your prostate massage toy:

The content of the box

Material

The Hugo remote-controlled prostate massager is made from body-safe silicone and ABS plastic, resulting in one stunning toy.

Dimensions

The dimensions strike that hard-to-achieve balance of being filling but not too overwhelming. I think the size is approachable for people new to the prostate massager game, but it’s also sizable enough to be a toy you’ll use for years to come (pun intended).

Warranty and Support

Lelo stands behind its toys. The one-year warranty means that if anything goes wrong with your toy during the first year, they’ll send you a replacement as long as you still have the receipts.

After that, the ten-year quality guarantee kicks in, meaning these toys are built to last. If your toy breaks down during those ten years, you can buy another from Lelo for 50% off the listed purchase price.

How To Use Lelo Hugo?

Here are some Lelo Hugo instructions to get you started:

  1. First, wash the toy and fully charge it.
  2. Then, grab some lube and lube yourself and the toy up.
  3. Insert it, maneuvering the toy until it becomes comfortable and pleasurable.
  4. In other words, wait until you get that magical feeling.
  5. Sometimes, taking deep breaths can help you relax enough to enjoy the good vibrations this toy has to offer.
  6. Then, cycle through the vibration patterns until you find the one you like the best.

How To Have a Prostate Orgasm With Lelo Hugo?

If you’re new to prostate orgasms or milking, using Lelo Hugo can help you have your first. A few things are crucial to helping the stars align so you can reach back-door bliss. First, try it when you are ultra turned on—not when you are bored and watching TV. Ensure you’re fully in the mood before attempting this new toy for the first time!

Spooning position with a prostate massager

Next, make sure you have some space on your calendar for playtime—this isn’t going to be a five-minute quickie. Then, use more lube than you think you need, and continue replenishing the lube as necessary.

Go slow and start small, using a finger first, and then two, until you are ready for the sex toy. The come hither motion can feel ah-mazing once you get your fingers in the right place (about two inches inside), so try this to identify which spot you’ll want to target with the Hugo male toy.

Some people need a lot of pressure to have a prostate orgasm, and if that’s you, positioning it just right will be the key to prostate ecstasy. Use small movements so you find the ideal angle. Once it’s in a pleasurable spot, cycle through the patterns until you find the right rhythm and intensity to achieve a hands-free prostate orgasm.

My Personal Experience

As soon as Hugo arrived, my partner and I were ready to see what fun was in store for us. After a quick read of the manual, we dove in.

My partner’s initial impression was that it had some of the best P-spot stimulation of the many prostate massagers he’s tried. He could feel pleasure radiating both internally and externally, which is something that many other toys don’t offer. He enjoyed the smaller size and that the shape prevented the toy from slipping out so he could have his hands free. While it didn’t necessarily mimic the feeling of anal sex, it made partner play easy and felt a thousand times more luxurious than the typical rubber plug.

Lelo Hugo

Though the Hugo doesn’t come with app control, the SenseMotion mode allows your partner to control the vibration settings while you’re still in the same room. It’s a feature that makes this toy as fun for masturbation as it is for partnered play.

Design

Lelo toys are always designed with aesthetics in mind, and the Hugo is a testament to their commitment to quality. It’s a glorified (and massively upgraded) vibrating butt plug, but it looks and feels like a work of art. They also put a lot of thought into the toy’s shape, making it easy to insert and use for most shapes and sizes. It’s pretty and soft, and the design is 10/10. It couldn’t be better!

Build Quality

Lelo Hugo’s silicone is oh-so-soft; it’s just begging to be put into your most sensitive places. This silicone is the kind that’s hard to stop touching, and the quality is top-notch.

Ease of Use

Since the Hugo comes with the SenseMotion remote, it’s effortless to use. Anal toys that don’t have a remote require a lot of fidgeting to try all the settings. Or if you’re like me, you select the one you think you’ll like and then put it in, so you don’t have to try to find the button afterward when you’re covered in messy lube.

The remote makes all this a piece of cake. You can insert the toy and then use the three buttons on the remote to adjust the intensity or find a rhythm you like.

However, the Hugo is still relatively easy to use even without the remote. The design team placed the button in a reachable spot, and mercifully, it’s easy to press. So, if you forego the remote, it’s effortless to find and press a button on the already-inserted anal toy. The singular button will get you through all the patterns or constant buzz if that’s your preference.

SenseMotion Remote

The Lelo Hugo remote control is a huge selling point. First and foremost, it’s easy to operate. There are only three buttons: a plus, a minus, and the middle button.

The plus button turns the toy on and increases the vibrations’ intensity. The minus button reduces the vibration power, and if you hold it down for a few seconds, it will turn off. The middle button will cycle you through the different vibration settings. The last setting allows you to control Hugo with motion, called SenseMotion mode.

Lelo Hugo and the remote control

Another cool feature of the remote is that it vibrates along with the toy. If your partner has control of the toy, they’ll know precisely how intense the prostate stimulation you’re getting is at any given moment. They can even feel the vibration patterns and intensity changes at the same time you do.

To pair the remote to the toy, turn the Hugo on first, then press the middle button on the remote control. When the connection is made, the Hugo and the remote control will light up.

  • There are two SenseMotion modes. You will be using SenseMotion mode one when you first pair the toy, which means you can turn up the vibration settings without pushing the plus and minus buttons; all you need to do is tilt the remote control vertically!
  • To use the second SenseMotion mode, press the middle button. This mode allows you to increase the vibration intensity by moving the remote quickly in any direction. The faster you shake, the quicker you’ll get to the highest setting!

The only bummer about the remote is that it’s battery-operated rather than rechargeable. But the battery is easy to replace. When you first open the toy, the battery cover is loose so you can put the batteries in immediately. After you’ve placed the batteries into the compartment and replaced the lid, use the plastic key to turn the lock so that the cover stays in place.

There is only one button on the prostate massager itself, meaning you can’t adjust the intensity and can only cycle through the vibration modes. If you don’t want to use the wireless remote control, you should probably get the toy that is cheaper and doesn’t come with it, the Lelo Bruno.

Versatility

Many anal toys for people with penises only bother to engage with the prostate. But Hugo vibrates against the prostate and the perineum, so it gets extra points for versatility right off the bat.

Hugo is a bit flexible as well. You can bend it slightly, though it quickly returned to its original shape when we tried this. More flexible toys may be better for couples who want to share the toy and have different angles between the rectum and the perineum.

The device charging

Testing toy versatility is my specialty, especially with vibrating prostate massagers. After thoroughly cleaning the toy, I tried it out to see if it would appeal to people with vulvas like myself. My findings were that the vibration was strong enough to double as a bullet vibrator, no problemo.

In addition, Hugo had more power than many of my other vibrators, most of which have mid-level vibration strengths. My honest review of whether it works as a clitoral vibrator, in just a few words: yes, it does, and it’s fucking awesome. However, it’s small and thin enough that most people with vulvas will not find it incredibly useful for G-spot stimulation.

Maintenance and Storage

The Lelo toy comes with a satin storage bag. So, after each use, wash it well with warm water and then throw it in the bag. It has a ninety-day standby time, so the charge should last for a while, even when not in use. However, the manufacturer recommends you charge the toy every three months to keep it in the best possible condition.

For ongoing maintenance, you’ll want to keep two AAA batteries on hand so you can operate the Lelo Hugo remote control.

Lelo Hugo vs. Bruno

The Lelo Hugo and Lelo Bruno are very similar penis sex toys since they share the same measurements and are meant for prostate stimulation. Though their shapes are the same, the Hugo costs more—$219 compared with $179.

The Bruno is the same toy minus the wireless remote, so it will be more challenging to use, especially for people who aren’t flexible. Your choice will come down to your budget and whether you need to use physical remote controls.

Lelo Loki Wave vs. Hugo

The Lelo Loki Wave is a relatively straightforward though lavishly elevated prostate vibrator. It almost looks like a rabbit vibrator made for men, and it’s a bit larger in insertable length and diameter than the Hugo.

Lelo Loki Wave and Hugo

The Loki Wave has a large internal arm offering the come-hither motion that mimics fingering using their patented WaveMotion technology, while the external arm vibrates. Loki Wave and Hugo both cost $219, so you’ll have to decide if you want a hands-free vibration toy or one that mimics fingering.

Lovense Edge 2 vs. Lelo Hugo

The Lovense Edge 2 is another prostate massager with very different upgrades from the Hugo. The Edge 2 is adjustable, so it will fit a larger selection of people. It also is compatible with the Lovense app, making it a perfect choice for long-distance couples.

Lovense Edge 2

Further, you can operate the motors separately and create a completely customized experience for you or your partner. It’s much cheaper, costing $99, but the larger, curvy body may be too advanced for beginners, and it’s not quite as strong as the Hugo.

We-Vibe Vector vs. Hugo

The We-Vibe Vector is shaped very similarly to the Hugo and designed to simultaneously stimulate the prostate and P-spot. It comes in two colors: charcoal black or royal blue, has a two-year warranty, and is flexible so you can find a comfortable fit for your body. The Vector costs $139.

We-Vibe Vector

Lelo Hugo vs. Nexus Revo 2

The Nexus Revo 2 is a rotating prostate massager that stimulates the perineum with vibrations. It’s waterproof (an upgrade from the original Revo), has two speeds, and you can control the perineum and prostate stimulations independently.

Further, you can have it rotate clockwise or counterclockwise, depending on which feels better to you. It’s rechargeable, has a one-year warranty, and costs $167.

Nexus Revo Stealth vs. Lelo Hugo

The Nexus Revo Stealth is nearly identical to the Revo 2, but it comes with a remote for easy operation (or for handing it off to your partner!). It’s waterproof, has an insertable length of 3.5”, and has a 4” circumference. It costs $225, so this falls into the luxury toy category.
