Packaging
The LELO IDA Wave came in a small, understated black box with a clear window that revealed the coral-colored vibrator. After opening it, I found the warranty card, the instructions, a storage bag, the USB charging cord, and a small sachet of lube! The addition of lube set this toy apart from all others, as it came packaged with everything you need to get started.
The attention to detail that went into the packaging did not go unnoticed, and it felt superior and more luxurious than other toys.
Material
The LELO IDA Wave is made from body-safe silicone and ABS plastic, meaning you can play while keeping safe. The main body of the vibrator is made of exceedingly soft silicone, which feels soft to the touch, a step above many other silicone toys I have felt before.
In addition, the “face” of the toy is made of reflective gold plastic embossed with the LELO logo. The outer edges of the charging port are made of gold plastic, looking elegant and sophisticated.
Design
The body is slightly different from other hands-free clitoral G-spot vibrators, as the clitoral body of the toy is substantially bigger, providing broader clitoral stimulation.
The LELO IDA Wave is 3.7 inches long, 2.2 inches wide, and 2.5 inches deep. The insertable end of the toy is around 3 inches long and an inch wide at the widest part. The clitoral body of the toy is 2.5 inches long, about 2 inches wide at the wide point, and around an inch deep.
The vibrator has two separate motors, one stimulating the G-spot and the other stimulating the clitoris. This may be the reason for the unusual shape, or it may have been designed for overall clitoral pleasure. Once in the vagina, the toy’s shape allows the clitoral stimulator to sit snugly on top of the clitoris, even when the G-spot stimulator is powerfully moving inside you.
The insertable part of the vibrator has what LELO calls “Wavemotion Technology,” allowing the insertable length to move around the vagina in a similar motion to a finger, simulating a G-spot massage.
Battery Life and Charging
The sex toy came pre-charged and ready to go! The manual says to charge the vibrator before use but doesn’t state how long for, but instead guides the user to download the online manual from LELO’s website. No manual for the IDA Wave existed when I went to this site, but the web page states that it takes 2 hours to charge for 2 hours of play.
The charging port is on the side of the clitoral stimulator and is left uncovered. This fact caused me to be anxious when washing it, as I was scared that water would make its way into the port and ruin the charging mechanism. The uncovered port also provides the perfect opportunity for bacteria to live, so ensure you wash it carefully.
Controls
The controls of the IDA Wave make the product, as you can connect the toy to Bluetooth and preset your four favorite settings to the toy for use without the app.
To connect the vibrator to the app, download the LELO app and follow the prompts for connectivity once downloaded. The connection was simple as the toy only has one button to turn the product on, connect to Bluetooth, and cycle through the vibrational patterns when not connected to the app.
The app has ten different vibrational patterns, all named, from the continuous vibrational setting hilariously called “boring” to a more adventurous setting called “exhilarating.” These patterns increase in power, up to ten speeds, by either shaking or turning the phone.
The LELO website doesn’t mention where the app is available, but I was able to download it easily for my iPhone.
Warranty and Support
The LELO IDA Wave comes with a one-year warranty and a ten-year quality guarantee which entitles you to 50% off a new device purchased on LELO’s website, should there be a fault in your toy after the year’s warranty has passed.
How To Use LELO IDA Wave?
- After removing the IDA Wave from the box, clean it using soap and warm water and allow it to dry before charging the toy.
- After downloading the LELO app, follow the directions to connect the vibrator to Bluetooth.
- It’s a straightforward process as the app provides a step-by-step animation detailing this process.
- After this, apply some lubricant to yourself and the toy.
- Then insert the toy into your vagina, positioning the clitoral stimulator on top of your clitoris.
- Use the app to find a setting you like. Explore the setting till you discover something you want and enjoy the deep, rumbly vibrations.
- Once you’re done exploring, you can add your four favorite patterns to the vibe for offline use!
How To Clean LELO IDA Wave?
To clean the LELO IDA Wave, use warm water and unscented antibacterial soap to give it a thorough wash. Alternatively, if you have one handy, you can use a sex toy cleaner to wipe down the vibrator.
When cleaning the toy, let it dry completely before charging. The IDA Wave is waterproof; however, it does contain a motor, so make sure not to clean it in the dishwasher or stove.
My Personal Experience
As said earlier, I’d wanted to try a hands-free vibrator for a long time, and I’m not quite sure what took me so long. So when the new LELO IDA Wave arrived, I was thrilled to try it out.
Ease Of Use
Once unboxed, I immediately turned it on, and to my surprise, the insertable part of the vibrator started rumbling and moving around in a circular motion. I was excited, so I quickly downloaded the app to see what else it could do!
After running through all the different patterns, I gave the toy a clean, popped it on charge, and waited until it was fully charged, as I wanted to see what this toy could do and didn’t want it to die mid-session.
When it was fully charged, I lubed the toy and myself, inserted it, and turned on a random vibrational pattern.

- Finally, you can use the boring feature to adjust the intensity by tapping a plus or minus button on your phone’s screen.
These features open up a world of possibilities, and I am excited to have my partner use these for a bit of edge play in the future.
I also liked that you can use the app to configure your favorite vibrational settings, so you can use them without the app! This is an awesome inclusion, as it lets you put down your phone and enjoy the moment!

LELO IDA
The LELO IDA is the predecessor of the LELO IDA Wave, and it’s made from the same materials and features the rotating insertable G-spot stimulator. It’s slightly different in size, coming in at 6.5 x 1.4 x 1.3 in, and marginally cheaper at $179.00.
Wave has a new design to fit the vagina anatomy better, for example, the softer and more flexible “knee.” In addition, the new head fits better between the vagina lips and delivers more direct clitoral vibrations.
LELO TIANI Duo
