Anyone who tried shower sex knows the difference between movie sex and real life. Shower sex, at least for heterosexual couples, is difficult, slippery, and potentially awkward, and that’s if you agree on the temperature and find a position where you’re in the stream of warm water rather than freezing, wet, and just outside the water’s reach. The same goes for having someone throw you up against the wall during sex. But a door sex swing could change all that. So I was excited to start testing my Fetish Fantasy Deluxe Door Swing.
This product was the least comfortable of all the sex swings I’ve tested. But it’s also the cheapest, making it worthwhile if you’re on a budget. It’s also compact, which is great for people living in small spaces, and effortless to set up, making it a great first sex swing.
Who Should Try It? If you want a cheap sex swing that’s easy to travel with or don’t have room for a regular sex swing, Fetish Fantasy is a good option.
Who Can Skip It? Unfortunately, you will have limited options on what you can do with this door sex swing. If you want the whole sex swing experience, you’ll have to spend more and buy either the Screamer Dual Hook swing or the Wild Side swing.

What Is The Fetish Fantasy Deluxe Door Swing?
The Fetish Fantasy Deluxe is a door swing, meaning you hang it over a door. It purports to make sex against a door accessible and perhaps even comfortable, without dislocating your labia. So, I was excited to find out whether sex up against the wall could be everything Hollywood screenwriters want it to be—or if it would fall flat.
Culturally, we seem to separate comfort from sexiness. Think of the difference between your sweatpants and lingerie, your slippers versus your high heels. I vote that we do away with the old-fashioned notions that comfort can’t be sexy and usher in a new era of terry-cloth-laden lingerie. Okay, I won’t go that far. But comfort should be a primary consideration for sex because people who aren’t comfortable won’t have sex often.

Packaging
The Fetish Fantasy Deluxe Door Swing arrived on my doorstep in a discreet brown box. Inside was the product with the door swing all in one piece and a free “love mask.” The packaging is minimal, but it has everything you need, including brief five-step directions to set up the door swing.
The sex swing packaging also contains some marketing photos that defy the laws of space and time. The front image displays a woman who appears to be reclining in the door swing, but the problem with door swings is that unless you have a reclining door, you can’t do much reclining without your partner pulling you forward. Notably, the door she’s supposed to be attached to is drawn on rather than photographed with the model.
The last photo on the back of the box is the most amazing. A man hangs using just the handles, his feet against the door, and positive affirmations to hold his body weight up. From there, ostensibly, he thrusts against the lady in the swing. I’m guessing that this is why they include a free love mask so that if you choose this gymnastic and completely unrealistic position, your partner can’t see how hard you’re straining and sweating to defy gravity for five minutes.
However, it doesn’t have a storage bag, so you may want to purchase one separately.
Material
The strap material is nylon, and the seat cushion is foam. It’s not the most comfortable, but that’s mostly the door’s fault. The lack of pads on the stirrups can make your thighs feel sore, so keep that in mind.
Dimensions
One of the main draws of this swing is that it is small enough to bring on vacation. You could have sex against the door of your hotel room, which in all likelihood, is a lot more sanitary than having sex in the hotel bed, according to some of the episodes of Inside Edition I’ve seen.
Assembly
The Fetish Fantasy Deluxe Door Swing doesn’t require assembly. It comes together in the box, with only the love mask wrapped separately. You must adjust the stirrups and handles to fit comfortably while using the swing, which may take a minute or two.
Warranty and Support
The Fetish Fantasy has a 60-day warranty against manufacturer defects. Try this swing out as soon as it arrives!
How To Clean?
I asked SexSwing.com on their website whether this door swing was machine washable, and I haven’t heard back yet. The nylon would typically be fine in the washing machine if you let it air dry, but the metal tubes are connected, meaning that your washing machine will probably take a severe beating. So, the safest option is to hand wash.
Update: Here is their answer: I’d hand wash only if necessary- but you can remove the tubes. In the seat, there is some type of cardboard, so I honestly wouldn’t throw it in the washer.
How To Use Fetish Fantasy Deluxe Door Swing?
This sex swing is the easiest of them all to set up:
First, you put the metal handles over the top of an open door, then close it and lock it. Yes, it’s that easy!
Something to note is the box says that the Fetish Fantasy Deluxe Door Swing holds up to 300 lbs. The SexSwing.com website lists it as holding up to 200 lbs, a significant disparity. Therefore, I would err on the side of caution and not use it for more than 200 lbs.
Pro Tip: Use the swing on the opposite side of the way the door opens to maximize the feeling that it won’t break the door. I tried it the other way first, and alarmingly, it pulled the top of the door inward.

My Personal Experience
Ease Of Use
In my opinion, the main thing that’s hot about having sex up against the wall is the urgency. No, you can’t possibly be bothered to put your passion on hold and move twenty feet into your absurdly comfortable bed whose secondary (or, for some couples, primary) function is an ideal place to have sex. You must have sex here, now, right up against this solid wood door.
But a door swing interrupts the immediacy the same way walking to your bedroom would. After all, there is still no immediacy. You must dig out the door swing from your closet, throw it over the door, climb in, and then have sex. In this amount of time, you probably could have made it to your bedroom unless you have an exceedingly large or strangely configured house where the closet is nowhere near your bedroom.
Design
Next, calling this a door swing is a bit of a misnomer. It’s more of a door sit. There’s a reason that playgrounds don’t have swing sets anchored by a door immediately behind them. You won’t want to do much swinging with this door swing.
Comfort
Of all the sex swings I’ve tried so far, this one was the least comfortable. However, it was also the cheapest, making the purchase worth it for some folks. Plus, it’s got to be more comfortable than the Ouch! Door Swing, an actual product you can buy on SexSwing.com.
The Fetish Fantasy Deluxe Door Swing is also missing the feeling of weightlessness that the other sex swings provided. When I tried it out, I felt a bit like a baby in one of those door bouncers, to give you an idea of the heat this brought to my sex life. I missed the extra comfort of the padded stirrups. And I missed the feeling of swinging, which sex up against the door didn’t provide.
As a side note, facing the door in a sex swing isn’t something I recommend unless you like forehead and knee bruises. I tried it and couldn’t find a way to make it comfortable.
Finally, I highly recommend pairing it with a stool and placing a pillow behind you for added comfort. If you and your partner have a height difference where the one standing is taller, it will be much easier for both of you if you get in by using a stool. If you adjust it so it’s low enough without a stool, your partner will have to squat uncomfortably. The stool adds one more degree of separation between you and that I’ve-got-to-have-you-right-this-minute sex since you’ll have to grab the swing (and lube, probably), find a stool, and then get started having sex, which is unfortunate.
Material
The material made a bit of a creaking sound when I got situated into it, which was unnerving. But the material supported me throughout. So, in the end, there was nothing to worry about.
Build Quality
The bars holding the swing in place have rubber coatings at the end, meaning you can have some pretty raucous sex, and this won’t scratch up your door. It’s a nice touch that gives this swing the upper hand against the bargain basement door swings you can find on the Internet.
Lastly, though SexSwing.com typically provides a free headrest with all swings, this one doesn’t come with one because there’s no place to rest your head other than the door.
All in all, I did have sex up against a door and no one was injured. So if that’s what you want, this swing can provide that experience.

Fetish Fantasy Door Swing
I was lucky enough to try the deluxe version, but there is a more basic version of the Fetish Fantasy Deluxe Door Swing. The regular Fetish Fantasy Door Swing costs just $49, a $5 savings from the deluxe. The basic option has stirrups and handles—no seat! Having all your weight on your thighs can be uncomfortable. The deluxe version has a padded seat, a massive upgrade worth the extra $5.
The Fetish Fantasy Bondage Swing
The Fetish Fantasy Bondage Swing is a single-hook swing that allows you to spin. You can try many more positions in this swing than the Fetish Fantasy Deluxe Door Swing, but you’ll have to either securely install it into your ceiling or purchase a stand to use with it. It has Velcro handcuffs and padded seats, perfect for engaging in light yet comfortable bondage scenes. The Fetish Fantasy Bondage Swing costs $169, quite a bit more.
The Wild Side Sex Swing
The Wild Side Sex Swing is a budget option for a dual hook swing. It’s much more comfortable than the Fetish Fantasy Bondage Swing or the Fetish Fantasy Deluxe Door Swing, costing $119. You can’t spin in this swing, but it comes in many colors. If you can afford it, I found it far more useful and comfortable than the swings listed above. But there’s some assembly required as you’ll have to either screw it into the ceiling or buy a stand to use it with.
Screamer Dual Hook Swing
The Screamer Dual Hook Swing is my favorite sex swing by a landslide, with the Wild Side as a distant second. It’s the most comfortable, it’s easy to assemble, it feels incredibly secure, and I love just about everything about it. It doesn’t spin, and it’s quite costly at $219, but aside from that, it’s everything you could want in a sex swing.
