How We Picked the Products
For this article, I started my research with 20 of the most popular sex swings, paying special attention to the materials’ quality, the user’s comfort, and the overall safety degree of the floating sex experience. Minor issues we found during testing:
Unfortunately, Screamer is pricey. It costs $199 – $229, a high asking price, especially considering you’ll still have to buy a sex swing frame if you don’t want to drill the ceiling.
The Screamer comes with a 2.5 ft chain, and you’ll have to buy the stand if you have high ceilings because it won’t reach the floor. Using the swing overly high increases the risk of falling. In addition, it significantly reduces the possibilities.
Finally, while there are pictures of two people in the swing, it didn’t work for us. We could get into it, but moving around was impossible due to the limited space.

We believe this product is perfect for people exploring the Wild Side of floating sex without spending much. For $99, Wild Side is a bargain, especially with the sturdy double hook design standard with high-end models.
The double hook design stood out because it helped distribute the weight evenly during play (circled below). Besides enhancing stability, the design also Wild Side could take more weight, which is evident with the 250 lbs rating. It didn’t feel quite as sturdy as Screamer Dual Hook above, but for this price point it’s excellent (Everything is relative!)
Like the Screamer Dual Hook, the Wild Side’s two straps have 0.5″ padding. The 4″ wide straps make the swing more comfortable even when used for extended periods. Cotton Canvas is not the softest material. Still, it’s comfortable enough to support my body weight without feeling confined.
We also appreciated the padded stirrups. “Combining a double-hook design, padded straps, and stirrups was a win”, our tester Rachel Sommer commented. “I could easily adjust the stirrups to the thighs for extra comfort (see the image below for a demonstration)”, she added.
Another plus is that assembly time was minimal. It took four minutes to assemble the stand, two minutes to add the bondage points, and three more to attach and adjust the swing (this time is slightly behind Screamer). Not bad for someone who has a hard time assembling IKEA furniture!
Minor issues we found during testing:
Away from the comfortable padding, the straps were a little rough. In addition, the kit didn’t come with hand grips which are essential for more control during sex.
You pretty much need to buy the handles. Getting up from Wild Side, or even repositioning yourself, is challenging without grabbing the handles. This is especially valid for people with mobility issues.
Why the Wild Side is our budget pick:
- Price & Value: For $99, I was excited to see what the manufacturer would do away with. And even though a pair of hand grips and more comfortable straps were missing, we think this model offered the optimal balance between affordability and practicality. It was reasonably easy to customize, and the padding on the straps and stirrups elevated the comfort.
- Comfort: What about the positions? Well, most were comfortable with one exception: doggy style position, making Screamer Dual Hook a better option if doggy is a requirement in your sex life.

“Maybe I’m becoming a pro at assembling swings (time to update the ol’ resume), but it took me less than one minute to assemble this one”, our tester Angela Kempf reported. “However, it comes mostly together. But you must assemble the stand (or securely screw the hooks into your ceiling), which took only three minutes—a new personal record. Then, you must adjust the straps so it fits the height”, Angela added.

Minor issues we found during testing:
Unfortunately, this one is only ideal for beginners, and very minimal bondage comes from it. It’s also possible for the sub to wiggle themselves out of the cuffs, which will annoy hardcore BDSM doms.
Also, the neoprene material is less comfortable than the other models we reviewed. Besides being thinner, it sticks to your skin during play, which can be annoying.
Finally, when used with the stand and the spring, it was too low for my 6’1’’ partner, even in the tallest configuration.
