Lelo Gigi 3The LELO GIGI 3 is a G-spot vibrator, but better because it has an app. With more patterns, more intensity levels, and the ability to give your partner control, it stands out as a tempting purchase. Does the app improve the experience, and how does the power compare to others in its price range? Find out in my review!

Key Takeaways
4.4 out of 5 stars

The LELO GIGI 3 is the perfect choice for someone who is new to sex toys or doesn’t like a lot of size, rumbly vibrations, or power. People in long-distance relationships will enjoy the app, but it doesn’t make sense for anyone who wants to use it hands-free or have the chance to create their own rhythms.

Who Should Try It? Anyone who wants a quality, giftable, unrealistic G-spot vibe that’s quiet and easy to insert will be happy with this purchase. The size is perfect for travelers, those with vaginal pain, and people who are new to sex toys.

Who Can Skip It? If you need a lot of power, keep looking. You’ll be much happier with a heavy hitter like the LELO Soraya Wave. Or, if you must have something with app compatibility, consider the We-Vibe Wand 2, which is rumbly, powerful, and has an app.

You Can Buy It on the official LELO website for $149.

What Is the LELO GIGI 3?

First Impressions and Features

Unboxing

LELO easily delivers my favorite unboxing experience. The outside is gorgeous, and the inside is thoughtful; what more could you ask for?

The content of the box

Inside the gorgeous box was the GIGI 3, a USB recharging cable, a satin storage pouch, an instruction manual, and a registration card (all seen in the image above).

Features

The LELO GIGI 3 has features aplenty, including:

  • Eight settings and twelve intensities to choose from, plus more in the app
  • Waterproof, body-safe materials
  • Non-phallic design is meant to target G-spot and clitoral pleasure zones
  • Quiet stimulations

Specifications

LELO GIGI 3 specifications at a glance:

  • Material: Body-safe silicone and ABS plastic
  • Size: 6.42 x 1.38 x 1.65”
  • Color: Powder blue, plum, or deep rose
  • Mechanism: G-spot or clitoral vibration
  • Weight: 3.07 ounces

How Do I Use the LELO GIGI 3?

After you unbox the LELO GIGI 3, charge it. The website said it would last up to two hours and then take up to two hours to charge. When I tested it, it lasted over two hours on a full charge on the first setting and then it took nearly two hours to get fully juiced again, just as the website suggested.

Next, clean your vibe. You can use a sex toy cleaner or wash it with warm water and antibacterial soap since it’s fully waterproof. If it’s time for a deep cleaning, grab a toothbrush to get in the deep seam between materials. Then, dry it with a lint-proof towel. Grab some water-based lube (the included sample pack will work just fine) and lube up yourself and the toy. If you haven’t found your G spot before, get turned on before you begin. Place the toy inside until the head feels like it’s in the right general area to target your G spot, or use it externally on your clit.

Using the three-button interface at the base is mostly straightforward. You can press and hold the plus button or the (()) parenthesis button to turn on the GIGI 3. The parenthesis button will cycle you through the eight pre-set patterns, the plus button will turn up the intensity, and the minus button will decrease it. Hold the parenthesis button down to turn GIGI off. Lastly, you can hold the plus and minus buttons down to activate or deactivate the travel-lock.

Keep in mind that the LELO GIGI 3 has an automatic shutoff feature that happens around the 30-minute mark. If you’re a slow masturbator like me, this may throw off your game.

When finished, wash the vibe and throw it into the satin storage bag.

My Personal Experience

As someone with hundreds of sex toys, it can be challenging for a new product to leave a lasting impression. However, this one did. The LELO GIGI 3 is a vibrator that I used on the highest setting throughout, which I’ve never done before. Typically, I start at the low end and might slowly level up throughout a session, but I needed the full power the whole time. A first for me! Am I changing into someone who likes more intense sensations? Maybe.

My partner and I had an excellent time testing the LELO GIGI 3, thanks to the app. We tried long-distance play, which was fun, but it was hard to climax. The stimulations were so light that anything other than the highest felt almost ticklish. However, we soon realized that made it perfect for edging.

I also felt like this device is fairly priced. The $150 price tag rings true to me. Sex toys are expensive, and for the quality you get, this is a decent price to pay.

LELO GIGI 3’s manual also did not disappoint. I love reading sex toy user manuals because they are written by a dry legal team with no use for shenanigans, and they say things like this: Please consult your healthcare provider with any questions or concerns you may have regarding your condition, which is a direct quote from the user manual. “Hello, doctor? Yes, I’m super thirsty, and I’m wondering if you think a sex toy would help.” Doctors get almost zero training on sexual health (unless they’re specialists), and hitting them up for advice on your “condition” is only going to make you the subject of the lunchtime gossip at the hospital.

Lastly, I’d like to send a plea out to the marketers at LELO: please turn off your caps lock. Please.

Packaging

As you can see in the image below, LELO knows how to package a product. The GIGI 3 comes in their signature gorgeous black box with a picture window, so you know what’s inside. It comes with everything you need, including a silky storage bag, recharging cable, instructions, and even a sample packet of lube so that you can start pleasuring yourself right away. 10/10, no notes!

The packaging

Design

The design of the LELO GIGI 3 feels retro to me. The upper half is silicone, and the bottom part is white plastic.

But what matters more than the aesthetic is the feel of the design, and this G-spot vibe has a flat head with a subtle ridge around it. I wanted to know if this would be as effective at targeting my G-spot as other designs. It felt wide enough to surround my G spot with vibrations, and yet it was still easy to insert. The handle isn’t quite heavy or substantial enough to hold between your legs during masturbation for hands-free play. The short, plastic handle will also get slippery AF if you happen to spill lube on it, so be extra cautious when lubing up for playtime.

The device charging

The head is also designed to be flipped over and used as an external clitoral massager. The head is flat, which is ideal for broad stimulation, but since it has such a different shape, I was hoping part of the head would be pointed enough to use for pinpoint stimulation. On this end, I was disappointed.

Material

The material is a nice blend of ABS plastic and soft silicone. It’s not the most luxurious vibrating device LELO makes (you can compare them here), but it’s comfortable, attractive, and easy to use. However, there are notable seams between the different materials, and there is a hole for the plug-in charging cable, so this is a device you’ll want to clean with a toothbrush to get into the crevices.

Stimulations

The stimulations are remarkably light, not rumbly, and I say that as someone who is particularly sensitive to any kind of stimulations. There are a few factors that might influence your need for high power, like antidepressants or other meds that make it more difficult to reach orgasm. Or perhaps your tastes have just changed over the years. Change is good, especially in your sex life. No matter your reason, if you need rumbly, deep, all-over power, this probably isn’t the best choice for you.

Lelo Gigi 3

Further, if you use it for a while, it does tend to warm up—not worryingly so, but if you don’t like your toy to heat up with you, this may not be the device for you.

Sound Level

The website said that the LELO GIGI 3 would not rise above 60 decibels, and when I tested it, the decibels ranged from 36 to 51. It was a quiet vibrator, which reflected the subtle power it offers.

Build Quality and Dimensions

The build quality of this vibrator is on the smaller side, especially compared with other G-spot vibrators I own (you can see how it compares with two other products in the image below). I like this because the G spot really isn’t a size queen. Your brain may be, but your G-spot is not. It’s also lightweight but feels sturdy.

Lelo Gigi 3 with 2 other G-spot vibrators I tested

The head of the vibrator is kind of flat and not angled for easy insertion, but it’s overall not too big, and it should be easy to insert no matter how much sex toy experience you have.

Ease of Use

LELO GIGI 3 is relatively easy to use if you skip the app control part. As you can see in the image below, there are only three buttons, and they are reasonably intuitive. Better yet, the plus button is located at the top of the handle when you’re using it, so switching between intensities is natural, and you won’t need to stop, look at the buttons, and then change settings.

App

When I received this G-spot vibrator, I was curious if the app would enhance the experience or feel like an afterthought. Since I typically need to hold onto G spot vibrators, I knew it would likely not provide a hands-free experience. But would it otherwise feel like an upgrade?

The app has a couple of different modes for you to try, including FINISH ME OFF mode, which has a pulsating rhythm that builds until you orgasm. There’s also OUT OF CONTROL mode, which is a more unpredictable experience that feels a bit like AI is at the wheel. If I’m honest, it’s more like a cat walking across your laptop. It is as random as can be. Both settings were not steady enough for me to get off from, but I’m not a rhythm girly. I never use the patterns, so perhaps someone who enjoys variation rather than consistency would find it pleasurable.

Me controlling Gigi 3 using the smartphone app

In the app, you can go to “create a room” (also called the  Love Bridge) to send your partner an invitation code. They must download the app, and then they can click “join a room,” enter your invitation code number, and connect to your device. Then your partner can control the GIGI 3 with their voice, by shaking or rotating the phone, or even by playing a game featuring an orange ball sporting a mohawk. You can chat, too, which is fun. The gamification was amusing, but since the vibrations were so light, it wasn’t as enjoyable as some of the other long-distance play toys I’ve tried. Anything lower than the top setting was frustrating, and it’s not very engaging to tell my partner that the only way to get me off is to leave it consistently on at the highest setting.

They also have erotic stories, sex advice, position suggestions, and a place where you can browse through other devices.

In short, no, I didn’t feel like the app was an upgrade. Other devices would play better with the app, especially those with a larger intensity range. The LELO app isn’t among the worst I’ve tried, but it lacks a lot of the versatility that others have. On the plus side, pairing the toy to the app is simple, and I didn’t have connectivity issues.

Versatility

The design is very versatile since it not only targets internal G-spot pleasure zones but the external clit. The smaller design, waterproof materials, luxury storage bag, and travel-lock also make this the perfect companion to bring on trips. The app allows long-distance play, but the design isn’t ideal for hands-free play and should never be used anally, making it slightly less versatile.

Warranty and Support

LELO offers a one-year warranty on the GIGI 3, during which you’ll receive a free replacement if something is wrong with the product. They also have a ten-year quality guarantee after your warranty expires. This guarantee/warranty combination is one of the best in the industry!

Minor Issues I Found During Testing

I loved using this G-spot vibrator and will continue to use it frequently in the future. However, the stimulations are much lighter than I expected.

Alternatives to the LELO GIGI 3

GIGI and GIGI 2

How does GIGI 3 compare to its ancestors? The original GIGI isn’t available for sale anymore, but you can still find the GIGI 2 on LELO’s site. The GIGI 3 has an updated look, with a smaller silver ring and a more modern three-button interface. The size is nearly the same, but the GIGI 3 is the first to be app-compatible. The GIGI 2 is only $109, so if you’re not planning on using the app, purchasing the older model can save you some cash.

Dame Arc

Dame Arc is another G-spot vibrator, shaped with a bend and a beak to make G-spot targeting a cinch. The Arc has a plusher feel to it since it’s completely silicone. The longer handle makes it easier to use without getting into a slippery lube situation. The design also allows for broad or pinpointed clitoral stimulation, adding to its versatility. Dame Arc has much stronger vibrations and costs just $115, making it a great budget pick.

We-Vibe Rave 2

We-Vibe Rave 2 is the sturdiest on this list, and it has a twisted shape that allows you to rotate it during masturbation rather than thrusting. It has two motors, one for your G spot and the other for your vaginal opening. The We-Vibe app is comparable to the LELO app, making either a good choice for those in a long-distance relationship. The design is adaptable since it has an internal hinge, allowing you to position it for the best comfort. It’s also slightly cheaper than the GIGI 3, costing just $139.
