Lelo Loki Wave 2 Review 2024: A Few Things You NEED To Know!

Lelo Loki Wave 2I don’t have a prostate, but the original Lelo Loki Wave was the first toy that made me wish I did. It was my partner’s favorite of the ones he’s tried, and we both agreed that it seemed like a toy that could sell someone on the whole prostate experience if they were new to it. When he discovered there was a new one available, he was euphoric. Join me to learn if Lelo Loki Wave 2 lived up to the original, was disappointing, or outdid it!

Key Takeaways
4.4 out of 5 stars

Lelo Loki Wave 2 offers some mind-blowing amenities and is more powerful than the original. The company also added an extra flexible perineum arm that made the experience a tad more comfortable. Hence, people who want an easier fit and extra power should definitely upgrade to the new version.

But the original Loki Wave is still my partner’s all-time favorite prostate toy because the less flexible perineum arm added support that helped the toy stay inside. The new Loki Wave 2 didn’t stay in place on him for more than a couple of minutes, so it would have been challenging to use during partnered play and intercourse.

Who Should Try It? If you don’t plan on using Loki Wave 2 for partnered sex or hands-free play and are ok holding it with your hand, it’s an excellent upgrade as the stimulations are stronger than the original. Plus, if you had the original Loki Wave and felt that the stiffer perineum arm was uncomfortable, this is also the perfect toy.

What Is Lelo Loki Wave 2?

The Lelo Loki Wave 2 is a prostate massager designed to stimulate the P-spot. The internal arm uses Wave motion, which is intended to mimic a finger performing a back-and-forth movement. While my partner didn’t think it felt precisely like P-spot fingering, the sensation was unmatched. The smaller arm stimulates the perineum with vibration. Plus, the second version has some features that the first doesn’t, including two extra vibration settings and an extra flexible design.

First Impressions and Features

Unboxing

Lelo boxes are always a joy to open, and if I’m being honest, I envied my partner slightly that he got to open this one because they are so gorgeous. It comes in a sturdy, luxurious package. You want a sex toy sold for this price to be giftable, and this one delivers. I haven’t found a more giftable sex toy.

The content of the box

As you can see in the image above, it comes with everything you need: a charging cord, an instruction manual, a satin storage pouch, a warranty registration card, and a sample packet of lube. I love sex toy companies that include a sample of lube because not everyone has some lying around, and it allows you to play immediately anyway.

Features

The Lelo Loki Wave 2 prostate vibrator has features galore, including:

  • Twelve vibration settings
  • Independently controlled motors
  • Dual stimulation: one arm vibrates against your perineum while the other strokes your prostate

Specifications

Lelo Loki Wave 2 specifications at a glance:

  • Material: Non-porous, body-safe silicone and ABS plastic

  • Mechanism: Perineum vibration and prostate stroking

How To Use Lelo Loki Wave 2?

The Lelo Loki Wave 2 is relatively simple to use. First, wash and charge the toy. Next, grab some of your favorite water-based lube. Lube up the inner arm as well as your anus. Then use the buttons to cycle through the rhythms and intensity levels until you’ve found the one that delights your prostate the most.

My Personal Experience

Introduction

Lelo’s website refers to the Loki Wave as their legendary prostate massager, and it has the same reputation around my house, as it’s easily my partner’s favorite prostate toy. Trying the new version was exciting because it’s always interesting to see if there’s anything better than perfection!

We were both hoping that, on this model, you could control the motors independently. The ability to do so opens up a whole spectrum of sensations. While that wasn’t the case, there were twelve patterns and ten intensity levels to choose from, so it’s possible to find settings that will accommodate your preferences. For instance, one of the rhythm settings has the prostate arm off while the perineum arm is on.

The device charging

When my partner tried the new settings, he liked the additional options. The two extra patterns added a level of customizability that the prior version lacked. This was a massive advantage compared to the prior model.

I also tried this toy, even though I don’t have a prostate. And I can vouch that it has strong vibrations that best some of my most potent vibes. It feels more like a wand than a bullet vibrator, and it will undoubtedly get people with vulvas off, too, making this a perfect investment for people who are in a straight relationship or have partners of multiple genders.

Packaging

The Lelo Loki Wave 2 gets full points for packaging. It’s gorgeous and comes with all the amenities (image below). You couldn’t want anything more!

The packaging

Design

The design is attractive. I prefer monochrome toys, but the Lelo Loki Wave looks nice with the two colors, making it fairly gender inclusive. It’s easy to hold and ergonomic; plus, the handle is long enough that you probably won’t get lube all over it, which would make the whole process a slippery mess.

Material

The material is quite nice. It’s not entirely silicone, but the blend of ABS plastic is well done. Sometimes mixing the two materials feels like a cheap way to make a product, but that’s not the case with this prostate massager. It’s a nice mix.

Stimulations

The stimulations on the new model are even more substantial than the last, but only by about 10%. The increased strength will appeal to power-hounds who love intense vibes. The come-hither motion is also faster on the new model.

Lelo Loki Wave 2

The come-hither motion speed isn’t something you can change; it’s either on or off. So, you may want to consider whether you like faster or slower fingering sensations before choosing which model you purchase.

Sound Level

The sound level is comparable to the old one, so noise won’t determine which one you buy. It’s audible but not overly loud; nothing a closed door and some background music can’t overcome. It ranged from 47-59 decibels during our sound test, about the same as a normal conversation.

Build Quality and Dimensions

The build quality is top-notch. It’s beautiful and flared enough for safe anal use. Further, the insertable length is only 3.9”—perfect for reaching the prostate but not enough to please people who need large toys.

However, it’s not small enough to be considered a beginner’s toy. It’s intermediate, perfect for my partner and anyone who loves prostate toys but doesn’t need overwhelming size.

Ease of Use

The Lelo Loki Wave 2 has five buttons (circled in the image below) and is relatively easy to use. The middle button turns it on or off. The arrow buttons cycle you through the twelve patterns, and the plus and minus buttons take you through the intensity levels.

Lelo Loki Wave 2

Some internal toys are difficult to manipulate once inserted. My partner found this one easy to operate even after being inserted. This one gets a thumbs up for anyone looking for an uncomplicated toy.

Versatility

The Lelo Loki Wave 2 is an incredibly versatile toy. It’s waterproof, making it safe for showering or tub play. Second, it has dual stimulation, so you can stimulate both the prostate and perineum. With all the choices of patterns, you can choose to play with one or the other solely at a time.

It gets a few points taken away for not staying in place. The flexible arm makes it difficult to use during intercourse because, for my partner, it kept falling out. The original Lelo Loki Wave stays in place much better thanks to the firmer perineum arm.

Lastly, it gets bonus points since this is a multi-gender toy. The insertable arm works well as a G-spot stroker, and the flexible outer arm makes it easy to reach the clitoris. Having this toy in your nightstand means pleasing whoever is sleeping next to you. Not many toys can claim the same thing!

Warranty and Support

The Lelo Loki Wave 2 comes with a one-year warranty. If problems arise within the first year, you can return it for a replacement if you still have the receipt.

But the Loki Wave 2 also comes with a ten-year quality guarantee, giving you a 50% off coupon for your next purchase once your original purchase has run its course.

Minor issues I found during testing

The new design of the Lelo Loki Wave 2—with the extra flexible perineum arm—seemed like an exciting addition destined to make the toy more comfortable. Yet, in practice, my partner preferred the original version’s design by a landslide. The less flexible perineum arm on the original Lelo Loki Wave added support that helped the toy stay inside. Once placed, the Lelo Loki Wave 2 didn’t stay in place on him for more than a couple of minutes, so it would have been challenging to use during partnered play and intercourse.

Further, the less flexible perineum arm of the original gave the toy enough stability to have the wave motion feel strong against his prostate. With the malleable smaller arm, the wave motion mostly moves the handle while the prostate arm stays in one place. If you decide on the new model, you’ll have to hold it in place to get the full effect of the wave motion. But my partner did feel that this model provided a ton of pleasurable pressure rather than just vibration, as some toys do.

Who Should Try It

This is the ideal upgrade if you have tried butt plugs or other small prostate toys and love the sensation. It adds a new dimension of pleasure for your perineum and has several stimulations for your prostate to enjoy.

If you had the first model and felt that the stiffer perineum arm was uncomfortable, this is also the perfect toy for you. It’s also an excellent toy for people who want intense power in their prostate toy. Lastly, this toy was made for people who have never had a prostate orgasm before. You may be able to have your first hands-free climax with the combined sensations this toy offers!

Who Can Skip It

If you’re new to prostate stimulation, you may want to start with a cheaper toy to determine if you like the sensation before making the splurge. Beginners will be better served by the Hot Octopuss PleX with flex, which is both smaller and cheaper.

People in long-distance relationships will enjoy something geared toward their situation, like the Lovense Edge 2, which has an app that makes long-distance play a cinch. The Lelo Loki Wave 2 doesn’t have features that would make long-distance play extra intimate.

Anyone who doesn’t love vibration won’t be interested in Wave 2. The perineum arm’s only function is to vibrate, and the internal arm’s vibration packs a wallop, which is a large part of why it’s so pricey. Consider the Aneros Helix Syn Trident if you prefer stimulation without vibration.

Lelo Loki Wave vs. Loki Wave 2

Lelo Loki Wave 2 has a bunch of upgrades from the original Loki Wave. But first, let’s discuss their similarities. The prostate vibrators are the same size, have the same overall functionality, same tapered tip for easy insertion, and generate similar levels of noise. You can see the two Lelo products in the image below. (Loki Wave on the left and Loki Wave 2 on the right).

The redesign of the Loki Wave 2 comes with many advantages. First, it has twelve vibration settings compared to the original’s ten. The original has a lower lowest setting, and Wave 2 has a higher highest setting.

Lelo Loki Wave and Loki Wave 2

The speed is different too. The new version’s come-hither motion is faster, giving you more prostate pressure, while the older version is slower. And the original only comes in two colors, black and blue.

Lastly, the perineum arm on the new version is more flexible, which my partner wasn’t a fan of. This feature may make it easier to fit into certain bodies, but for my partner, it made it easier for the toy to slip out of place and more difficult to feel the wave motion.

Overall, people who want more power and pattern options will want to upgrade to the new version, while people who want to feel the wave motion and for the toy to stay in hands-free will be happier with the older model. The original costs $189 when not on sale, and the new version costs $219.

The original is best for people who want a strong fingering sensation.

Lelo Hugo vs. Loki Wave 2

The Lelo Hugo is another prostate massager that stimulates the prostate and perineum simultaneously with vibration. It has an insertable length of 3.4”, smaller than the Loki Wave 2; however, it has a more bulbous head. It has a physical remote control which makes operating it simple, even once inserted. Plus, it has stronger prostate vibrations than the Lelo Loki Wave. In the image below, you can see the two devices side-by-side. (Loki Wave 2 on the left and Hugo on the right).

Lelo Loki Wave 2 and Lelo Hugo

However, it’s missing the wave motion that feels like fingering, and you can’t control the perineum and prostate sensations separately. The Lelo Hugo is the best choice for people who want intense vibrations and the ease of a remote control. You can grab one for $220.

Lovense Edge 2 vs. Lelo Loki Wave 2

The Lovense Edge 2 is another dual-stimulation toy that vibrates against the perineum and prostate. While it lacks the WaveMotion technology that the Lelo Loki Wave 2, it’s adjustable, so it should be comfortable for a wider range of bodies. It also has a more intimidating, knotted shape, making it a better fit for intermediate to advanced prostate players. It has an insertable length of 3.59”.

Lovense Edge 2

The app is one of the most significant selling points of this toy. It was made for long-distance couples or anyone who doesn’t like fiddling with buttons on an anally inserted toy. You can create your own settings and patterns, so it’s also great for those who desire advanced customizability. Pick up the Lovense Edge 2 for $199.

Aneros Helix Syn Trident

Simple and efficient, the Aneros Helix Syn Trident has no motor that offers vibrations. Instead, it has an internal arm to put pressure on the prostate and two external spots, one for the perineum and the other for the Kundalini spot. The stimulation comes from doing Kegels—when you squeeze, you feel the full spectrum of pleasure.

Aneros Helix Syn Trident

The Aneros Helix Syn Trident has an insertable length of 4”, which is slightly longer but slimmer than the Lelo Loki Wave 2. It’s small, easy to travel with, waterproof, and easy to clean. It’s perfect for people who want to experiment but don’t need all the amenities of a luxurious, pricey toy. This toy is ideal for newbies and the budget-oriented. Grab the Aneros Helix Syn Trident for $70.

Hot Octopuss PleX with flex

The Hot Octopuss PleX with flex is a prostate massager with an original twist: it uses Treble and Bass technology to ensure a wide variety of users find it pleasurable. Though it’s shaped like a traditional butt plug, the toy has treble vibrations in the tip, which are buzzier, lighter sensations, and bass vibrations at the base.

Hot Octopuss PleX with flex

The insertable length is roughly 4”, slightly longer than the Lelo Loki Wave 2, so the size is best for intermediate prostate users. However, it’s somewhat flexible, so it’s surprisingly comfortable. Plus, it has a remote control, making it easier to use than the Loki Wave 2.

We-Vibe Vector

The We-Vibe Vector has much to offer as a prostate toy. The app is fantastic for long-distance couples, though it’s not as user-friendly as the Lovense app. The base is flexible but not as flexible as the PleX with flex or the Edge 2.

We-Vibe Vector

It comes with excellent packaging, a storage bag, and lube, but the vibrations are not as strong as the others on the list. You can grab a We-Vibe Vector for $139. You can read my We-Vibe Vector review here.

Lelo Ina Wave 2

The Lelo Ina Wave 2 looks almost exactly like Loki Wave 2: both are two-toned rabbit-esque vibes that provide internal and external stimulation. The primary difference is the design; the Loki Wave 2 was designed for prostates and perineums, and the Ina Wave 2 was intended for G spots and clitorises.

The Ina Wave 2 is meant to help people with vulvas learn to experience a blended orgasm, where they have a combined clitoris and G spot climax simultaneously. It uses the patented WaveMotion technology that Lelo has perfected, and it costs just $199 when not on sale.

Nexus Revo Stealth

The Nexus Revo Stealth is another innovative prostate massager that uses a different mechanism than the Loki Wave 2—it rotates both clockwise and counterclockwise. The external arm is ribbed for added stimulation and has six vibration functions. The insertable length is just 3.5”, slightly less than the Loki Wave 2. However, the remote makes this toy much easier to use.

The Nexus Revo Stealth is best for people with grip issues or those who have trouble reaching the buttons, and it costs $225.
