Rachel Sommer’s sex toy prowess speaks for itself. Before she joined the sex experts at my Sex Toy Guide in 2016, Ms. Sommer was a sexologist, testing different sex toys, including vibrators for couples. “I love providing people-centered solutions, and there’s no better way to do it than present multiple product recommendations tailored to meet the specific couple’s need”, she confirms.
For this article, Rachel assembled a team of experts consisting of Sandra Larson and Shane Davis. She also included products for all budgets and body types, to ensure an inclusive roundup list.
How We Picked the Products
For this article, I started by engaging the team to understand their non-negotiables when buying couples’ vibrators and their top recommendations. I then compiled a list inspired by my experience and the teams’ responses (image below).
I also defined test criteria that we could measure on a scale from 0 to 100. These factors included the following:
- Design. Like other sex toys, the ideal design depends on the specific sexual desire. For couples vibrators, flexibility plays a significant role. The vibe must have an ideal size and functionality balance to ensure the design doesn’t get in the way and impede penetration.
- Versatility. While the baseline for couples vibrators is ‘to be used during intercourse,’ a good product should give the user precise G-spot and clitoral stimulation, completely freeing both partners’ hands to focus on other erogenous zones during sex. We ensured all review samples complied with this requirement.

- Range. Most couples’ vibrators have a remote control to enhance the user experience and avoid annoying pit stops during sex. Admittedly, the range is essential, and we ensured we picked models with more than 10 meters of control range.
- Charging & Battery Life. Your sex toy’s battery type affects the experience. As always, I instructed the team to pick rechargeable models because they’re more reliable. We also gauged the battery output to ensure the top picks provided abundant life to support several sessions without recharging.
- Special Features. The list wouldn’t have been complete without putting in high-tech models with the bells and whistles every user yearns for. While some of the features come at a cost, the team was eager to review models with remote control and dedicated mobile app control. Smartphone applications, especially, offer loads of capabilities, which makes them even more lovable.
During testing, we rated each test criterion on a percentage scale from 0% (Worst) to 100% (Best). We then calculated the overall score using different weighted metrics depending on the importance of the test criteria. Half the total rating comes from Stimulations (25%) and Design (25%). After that comes Build Quality (10%), Ease of Use (10%), and Versatility (5%).
When the test panel returned, I analyzed the findings with Sandra Larson and Tim Larson. Besides using charts to lump the similarities and highlight the differences, we surfed the internet for reviews from sex toy forums and vendors to understand the public perception. This positive and multi-faceted approach leads us to believe these are this year’s best couples vibrators.

Why we love LELO Tiani 2:
Let’s start with the test winner: LELO Tiani 2. The testers loved the small body (3.3″ long) because it made Tiani 2 unobstructed during sex. Once you slid the G-spot stimulator inside the vagina and made a few adjustments to the clitoral vibrator, Tiani 2 felt more comfortable than the other models we reviewed.
Something else that stood out was the elegant packaging. It looked and felt luxurious, and the package has everything you need to get started – Tiani 2, USB charging cable, remote control disc, storage bag, and instructions manual (see image below). Other companies, take notes!
The testers also appreciated how easy it was to adjust the C-shape to grapple onto the clitoral hood while creating enough room for penetrative sex. “The all-silicone body feels squishy for the wearer and penetrating partner, making sex more enjoyable than the other products I reviewed”, our tester Sandra Larson wrote in her test report.
The SenseMotion technology was the icing on the cake. LELO Tiani 2 has a motion-responsive remote control that lets you regulate the rumbles by holding it vertically or shaking it repeatedly (modes 1 and 2, respectively). Mode 2 might be easier for most people because shaking the disc during sex might be easier than holding it steadily in one position. Great design, LELO!
Another great design tweak was the vibrating remote control (seen in the image above). Unlike most reviewed models, LELO Tiani 2’s SenseMotion remote control vibrates in response to the rumbles. This way, your partner can feel how intense or mellow the vibrations are and adjust accordingly.
So how were the vibrations? Well, everyone agreed that the vibrations were steady and powerful, especially for such a small-sized vibrator. While Tiani 2 might not be powerful enough for someone after explosive clit horsepower, it’s intense for the size. With eight vibration modes, adjustable speeds, and two SenseMotion settings to explore, we feel that this versatile sex toy is a must-have in your collection.
Note: According to the reviewers, the device stays inside for most sex positions, but not all. Our tester Angela Kempf reported this: “Doggystyle and missionary worked great, but it popped out whenever we switched to ‘more difficult’ porn star-like positions.” So please take this into consideration before buying it.
But how about LELO Tiani 3?
Like the Loki Wave, the new model draws mixed reactions. On one end, it has a differently shaped clitoral vibrator, with a big, square shape ideal for broad clitoral stimulation compared to the pinpoint stimulation from Tiani 2. However, both models have so much in common.
At the end of the day, LELO Tiani 2 offers as much power and flexibility for less, and it’s still our testers’ favorite. In addition, it has two internal arm attachments to suit all body shapes.

Minor issues we found during testing:
Unfortunately, Tiani 2’s discretion ends with the lower settings. It gets noisier when you transition to the higher vibration speeds.
In addition, the disc might be great because it simplifies couples’ play, but the settings could be more intuitive. SenseMotion mode 1 was fun, but holding the disc in precisely one position is challenging. On the other hand, mode 2 entails repeatedly shaking the wireless remote throughout the session, and I couldn’t do it all through.

Why we love We-Vibe Chorus:
Let’s move on to We-Vibe Chorus which was the strongest couples toy we tested. The testers unanimously agreed that the potent motor offered an impressive range of sensations with a consistent buzz perfect for pairing with penis-in-vagina thrusting. Its 7 patterns and 3 speeds make it an ideal choice for a wide range of consumers.
So what about the design? Our tester Sandra Larson summed it up like this: “The wearable C-shaped vibe snugly rests on the clitoris while an inner arm stays snugly in the vagina in pursuit of the elusive G-spot. Notably, the internal prober is smaller and doesn’t get in your way during sex. Most importantly, the vibrations are shared on both arms, and the overflow lands on the penis, creating an exciting blend of fun.” Overall, it performed very well in this test category, slightly behind Tiani 2 above.
Something that stood out during the review was the innovative squeeze remote control (image above). It matches your grip strength to the vibration intensity, keeping you involved throughout the session. While I was surprised at how strongly you have to grip the remote control to get it to maximum power, it was an exciting way to regulate the rumbles. Especially because the built-in control interface was a bit tricky to use.
Besides the squeeze remote control, Chorus is compatible with the We-Vibe Chorus app (screenshots below). We had a few issues connecting the two, but unpairing and pairing them again sorted the hitch.
The easy-to-use mobile app opens a world of new possibilities. You can control the We-Vibe Chorus from anywhere, enjoy the pre-set vibration patterns, draw unique patterns with your finger, and save your favorite. You can also use it to text or video chat with your partner to schedule playtime or build up to the moment. Bravo, We-Vibe!
The We-Vibe Chorus app also lets you enjoy sense motion functions. It simulates a real sexual encounter reacting to the natural grinding movements with a series of buzzing. The best part? You don’t even have to be having sex to make the most out of it – as long as you’re close and grinding (dry humping), Chorus will respond. Sweet!
Like other vibrators, you must warm up before diving into penetrative sex. You’ll need lube and lots of adjustments until you find a comfortable placement, so please be aware of this before buying it. Lastly, not all sex positions will work – doggy style and missionary proved the most effective, but Chorus kept popping out whenever we tried switching between positions.
Minor issues we found during testing:
Unfortunately, the sense motion functionality is only available on the mobile app. I’d have loved it if the designers included a button on the squeeze remote for sense motion.

The Chorus is indiscreet and not the ideal choice for public play fans. The buzz can be too loud unless you go to a noisy place like a concert. In addition, it tends to slip out, so you’ll need fitted underwear paired with tight leggings anyway.
Why We-Vibe Chorus is the strongest couples vibrator:

Besides offering numerous vibration patterns and speeds, the consistent flow of the rumbles was incredible. Even at the lowest settings, the vibrations were more impactful than most of the couples’ vibrators we reviewed.

Everything from unlimited customization to music sync and long-distance control, the testing panel loved the efficiency. In addition, the squeeze remote control appeals to the ‘handy’ users with 3 sense motion modes that let you regulate the vibration intensity with your grip.
- Ease of Use: You can regulate the experience in three ways. While the buttons could be more intuitive, the ergonomic wireless remote control and easy-to-use smartphone app significantly benefit solo-play users and couples.

3. Dame Eva: Easiest To Use, Most Value & Beginner-Friendly!
Why we love Dame Eva:
Want something easy to use? Then you should try Dame Eva. Our testers rated it as the easiest-to-use couples vibrator thanks to its ergonomic design and all-silicone squishy body. The small size makes it easy to tuck inside the labia while leaving enough room for an erect penis or dildo. The flexible wings on either end are also easy to manipulate, making using the small sex toy straightforward.
Furthermore, unlike most of the models we reviewed, it didn’t feel uncomfortable, and it took the least time for first-time couples’ sex toy users to get on board. In the image below, you can see me measuring the size with a tape measure.
Our tester Rachel Sommer summed up the beginner-friendly design like this: “The design means it tucks into the labia, providing maximum contact with the clitoris. The vibrations are thus more impactful than the traditional couples’ vibrators. Because it doesn’t have an intrusive arm, you don’t have to worry about Eva getting in the way during penetrative sex.”
One minor flaw we found was that Eva can be fidgety initially, but it gets better after a few times. You can either pull the inner labia and cushion Eva with it or flip it upside down and adjust it higher and lower depending on your body shape and size.
Besides the unmatched comfort, we also found that Eva stays in place in some sex positions and occasionally pops out during others. Overall, staying still gets you the most retention time. Better yet, you can hold it against the clit during positions like missionary during solo play or have your partner do it for you. After all, pressing it against you helps add to the stimulation because its small motor doesn’t pack as much juice.
Lastly, Eva has three settings, which gradually increase power. While the third setting is more on the buzzy than the rumbly side. I prefer the latter, but it’s all a personal preference.
Pro Tip: I used Dame Eva II without lube, and it held on better. Of course, it gave in to gravity, but I wanted to share that if you wish to see if it helps with retention.
Minor issues we found during testing:
Unfortunately, it’s not the most powerful couple’s vibrator, and you must hold it against the clitoris to get the most power from the vibrations.
Please also note that Eva is only available in a single size, and might not work for all body types. Please do your research before buying it.
Why Dame Eva is our budget pick:

Why we love Lovense Dolce:
Next, we have something for the techies: Lovense Dolce. We say this because it’s compatible with the popular Lovense app – the most effective sex toy mobile application in our humble opinion. Besides its user-friendly interface, the smartphone app is always reliable and has a ton of functionalities. In addition, it connects with Dolce quickly via Bluetooth, and I haven’t experienced any disconnection issues like with the We-Vibe app.
The mobile app offers a selection of pre-set vibration patterns while letting you customize your own for a fun and personalized experience. It has a video and voice chat platform that helps foster an intimate connection with your partner, even when you’re halfway across the world. Other impressive capabilities included the music sync feature that allows you to sync the vibrations to your favorite music – you can also do it with your lover’s voice. As with all Lovense products, it has an outstanding design. Everything from the high-quality silicone material to the high-grade craftsmanship that guarantees durability stood out. In addition, the sleek body feels very comfortable inside.
It’s also worth mentioning that Dolce was among the most potent models we reviewed, slightly behind Chorus above. Coupled with the relatively small form factor makes it perfect for self-pleasuring and partnered sex. We also appreciated the adjustable neck that made it easy to adjust the angles for pinpoint clitoral and G-spot stimulation (you can see me testing the adjustable neck in the image below).
Pro Tip: Altering the angle while the sex toy was inside proved challenging. Therefore, I recommend adjusting the position before inserting it in the vagina. Of course, you’ll need some fine-tuning while it’s inside, but do the bulk of the work outside.
Unlike its cousin Lush 3, Dolce has a bigger inner arm, and you might have to look elsewhere if your partner has a massively girthy dick. Some reviewers recommended using We-Vibe Jive (Jive review here) – it’s more accommodative and cheaper. However, the mobile app isn’t as responsive, and the functionalities aren’t as diverse.
Lastly, Dolce is a powerhouse with two powerful motors that work in tandem to deliver intense internal and external stimulation. The motors are more rumbly than buzzy (my favorite), making it perfect for those who prefer more profound and satisfying vibrations.
Minor issues we found during testing:
As mentioned before, the G-spot prober might be too big for some people. While those after the feeling of fullness and vaginal stretching will love to wear it during sex, penetrating partners with massive cocks or receiving partners with tightly spaced pelvic floor muscles will have to look for a smaller couple’s vibrator, like Tiani 2 above
The massive internal arm initially makes Lovense Dolce slightly uncomfortable because it feels bulky. Newbies may have to start with a more beginner-friendly model like Dame Eva or the Jive.
Lastly, the two-button interface’s placement could be better. I often fumbled, trying to reach the buttons on the clitoral stimulator.
Why Lovense Dolce is the best Bluetooth vibrator for couples:
- Special Features: The Lovense Remote app is the highest-rated sex toy application on this list with an average score of 97%. It was the most reliable, intuitive, and responsive among the reviewed models and the team was also impressed by how easy it was to pair it with Dolce.
- Build Quality: Lovense Dolce might have a pretty face but we also think it’s built to last. The attention to detail was outstanding – everything from the silicone material covering the entire surface to the robust dual motor design and the compact body was above average.

The team found it easy to connect Sync 2 with the We-Connect app. We tested everything from setting up to the fascinating customization options and it worked flawlessly. I especially enjoyed messing with the patterns and creating my own – the app even has a beat mode, where the rumbles vibrate to the rhythm of your favorite music. Just wow!
We-Vibe Sync 2 is also perfect for long-distance lovers seeking to bridge the intimacy gap. The dual stimulation design and independent motor control make it easily customizable and a favorite pick for many different consumers.
Something else that stood out during the review was the seamless design. As you can see in the image above, the designers paid attention to detail with thoughtful touches like the easy-to-grab button (circled in the below image) that significantly enhances handling. I also loved the internal arm’s flat demeanor because it makes Sync 2 friendlier for beginners and people with ultra-sensitive bits. Unlike the other review samples, the We-Vibe Sync 2 feels less intrusive and very comfortable.
I wasn’t as excited with the ultra-grippy texture as others on the testing panel were. I think the ridges were a bit sharp to my liking (sharper than the original We-Vibe Sync), and people with ultra-sensitive parts will note the slight discomfort. However, the change was necessary, making the new Sync 2 better suited for public play. “The texturing and the small size mean you can comfortably use the sex toy in public without it popping out”, our tester Sandra Larson added.
The stimulations pack a punch, imposing more impactful vibrations than the original Sync. Of course, I’ve used more powerful sex toys, but Sync 2’s vibrations are powerful for the size.
We-Vibe Sync 2 has a wireless remote control (image above) for instances when you don’t feel like connecting the toy with the mobile app. Unlike the application, the We-Vibe toy comes paired with the remote control. We tested it without issues up to 20 feet, an impressive range. We can safely say that with a silicone finish and easy-to-push buttons, the remote control enhances the user experience.
Note: Like other 2nd generation sex toys, the We-Vibe Sync 2 has several upgrades, including a quieter and more powerful motor, better battery life, and a more comfortable insertable arm for extended public play.
The ridges are slimmer on the new model, which makes the texture rougher for people with ultra-sensitive parts. However, the upgraded surface promotes better retention during public play.

Let’s move on to the design. “I loved the bullet-like tapered design with a pointed edge that graduates into a wide body before narrowing down towards the neck (seen in the image below).
