We-Vibe Sync 2 Review 2024: A Few Things You NEED To Know!

We-Vibe Sync 2If you’re the woman-half of a straight couple, the chances that you will reach orgasm during sex couldn’t be lower. Cis-men have the highest chance of getting off, and lesbian and bi-women beat you, too. Enter the couple’s vibrator, made to stimulate the clitoris during penile-vaginal intercourse, which 81% of women can’t orgasm from, according to many estimates.

Choosing the best couple’s vibe is tricky, though. You don’t want to end up with an expensive toy that pinches or irritates either of you. We-Vibe, one of the most technologically savvy brands on the market, recently updated the original We-Vibe Sync to the 2nd generation Sync, and I was eager to find out whether the upgrades are worth the splurge. Read my We-Vibe Sync 2 review to find out what I thought!

Key Takeaways
4.5 out of 5 stars

The We-Vibe Sync 2 is the ideal couples toy for vaginal penetrative sex. Need something to stay in place? This is your best bet. Want a wearable model with app control that’s as satisfying for solo play as it is for your sex life? The Sync 2 was made for you. It’s small, comfortable, and powerful.

Who Is This For? If you’re in a heterosexual or lesbian couple, this bae can spice up the bedroom in so many ways. It’s also extremely giftable and perfect for helping long-distance couples bridge the intimacy gap. The Sync 2 is also excellent for dual-stimulation masturbation sessions.

Who Is This Not For? If you have vaginismus (a condition that results in a painfully tight vagina), dyspareunia, or any other condition that makes sex painful, adding a toy during partnered sex may exacerbate the situation. If you want something that will add sensation, consider a small vibe that doesn’t add to the intense internal feeling. A finger vibe like the Dame Fin or a lipstick vibe like the We-Vibe Tango X would perhaps work better. Further, if you don’t have a partner but are in the market for a dual-stimulation toy, others will be more powerful and unique, like the Lelo Soraya Wave.

And anyone who wants an upgraded remote will be better off with the We-Vibe Chorus. Lastly, my partner didn’t feel that We-Vibe’s stimulations were strong enough to make it a worthwhile penis vibrator. He is fairly picky with penis vibrators, though this device did add a bit of sensation for him.

What Is We-Vibe Sync 2?

The We-Vibe Sync 2 is a classic couples vibrator. Shaped like the letter c, this vibe gently fits into the vagina to provide internal and external vibrations, and that little bit of extra sensation can make it easier to orgasm from PIV sex.

My Personal Experience

I’ve enjoyed couples toys in the past but I also know how hard it is to find a toy that will please both parties. It needs to be small enough so that it doesn’t get in the way yet large enough to stay in place. It also should be flexible to fit most body sizes, as people have different lengths from the G-spot to the clitoris. I had already played with the We-Vibe Chorus and found it to be one of the best-designed couple’s toys out there.

I tried the We-Vibe Sync 2 first as a wearable vibe for some discreet public fun. Though it was slightly noisy, it stayed in place as long as I was wearing fitted underwear and leggings. I had to adjust it slightly to get the clit stimulation to stay in the right spot, but the G-spot vibes were always in the right place. I would pick Moxie (their panty vibe) as one of my most-used wearable sex toys, as it does stay in place better. But for coupled play, the Sync 2 was fantastic. It stayed in place as long as my partner thrusted gently.

I’ve gotten to play around with We-Vibe’s app before and I can say that it is nothing short of addicting. There are so many different ways to experience G-spot stimulation and clitoral vibes with the phone app.

I love that it takes the pressure off of both you and your partner. You can do what feels good instead of focusing on doing what will get the other one off. Your partner can relax knowing that you have constant G-spot and clitoral stimulation.

I was also curious whether or not this We-Vibe product would work as a standalone vibrator. Would I use this for solo masturbation? After trying it, the answer is yes, though it might not be the first one of the We-Vibe products I’d reach for on my nightstand. The vibrations are strong enough to help you reach orgasm, and the G-spot stimulation is excellent, too.

If you want something that performs as well for solo G-spot and clitoral stimulation as it does during PIV sex, We-Vibe’s Sync will make an excellent purchase.

Packaging

We-Vibe’s packaging delivered everything I could expect in addition to the toy: a no-nonsense user guide, safety instructions, a USB charging cable, a perfectly sized linen storage bag, and a sample packet of lube. The packaging is perfect and even a bit generous compared with the price point.

The packaging

Design

The design is excellent. It’s nearly seamless with thoughtful touches like an easy-to-grab button and plenty of colors to choose from. The internal arm is flat so that it doesn’t feel obtrusive or pinchy when you’re being penetrated. Further, it’s small enough to use for public play.

However, I wasn’t a big fan of the ultra-grippy texture (circled in the below image). The ridges feel a bit sharper on Sync 2 than they did on the Original Sync. This was probably a difficult design decision because they are trying to strike a balance that will keep the toy in place while still making it comfortable for use. For my ultra-sensitive parts, it felt slightly irritating.

We-Vibe Sync 2

Material

We-Vibe Sync 2 is made from body-safe silicone. It’s not ultra soft but it feels durable and luxurious, which is exactly what you want with this kind of toy.

Stimulations

The We-Vibe Sync 2’s stimulations leave nothing to be desired, and they pack quite a punch—especially when compared with the original Sync. The stimulations are extremely strong for the size.

Overall, it’s not as rumbly as a wand vibrator, but it’s fairly rumbly for a couple’s vibe.

We-Connect App

The We-Vibe app, formerly known as the We-Connect app, is excellent, perhaps second only to the Lovense app. I may be in the minority with this opinion, but I’ve never had much trouble with the We-Vibe app. I find the app control fascinating and could easily get lost for hours creating a brand new vibration pattern for my G spot with the We-Connect app.

To use the app, you will have to pair it to Sync 2. First, download the We-Vibe app, and then press the power button for five seconds. It will vibrate two times and the light will flash when you can stop pressing the button. Then, open the We-Connect app, and follow the instructions on your phone. Press the plus button to add a new toy, and the app will prompt you after that.

Screenshots from the We-Connect App

The We-Connect app has a ton of versatility, making it possible to have sex completely hands-free. You can operate the G-spot arm separately from the clitoral arm with We-Vibe’s app, meaning that you have total control over what’s being stimulated. You can create your own patterns, or play with beat mode, where the vibes chime in in time with your favorite songs.

Remote Control

We-Vibe takes the guesswork out of pairing their toys to remote controls (image below). I used to feel intimidated by this step before I reviewed sex toys, and We-Vibe is one of the brands that helped me overcome my fear of figuring out the technological side because they made the setup so simple.

We-Vibe Sync 2 and the remote control

Here’s how simple it is: the We-Vibe Sync 2 comes paired to the remote by the time it’s delivered to your door. There’s nothing to it. Just keep in mind that the Sync can only be paired with one remote or app-enabled device at a time.

When I tested how far away the remote control could be and still work, I found that 15-20 feet is the maximum distance that it would operate. My partner could control it from across our bedroom and even into the hallway, but once he was on a different floor, Sync 2 didn’t respond to the buttons he pushed. The remote is perfect for same-room play, but if that’s not enough, we recommend getting another remote control vibrator instead.

Sound Level

This toy, like any, is louder before you put it inside you. However, one vibrating arm remains outside of you, so it’s not whisper-quiet. You can use this for public play if you’re sticking around the house or heading to a noisy bar.

When I tested this We-Vibe couples vibe, the decibels from the noise ranged from 36-50. Some would argue that’s a good range, but if you’re unconvinced, you compare it with the other quiet vibrators we ranked.

Build Quality and Dimensions

The build quality is excellent—there’s a reason We-Vibe is practically a household name among sex toy enthusiasts. And the dimensions will work for most people, but not all. (I put Sync 2 next to a stapler in the below image so you get an idea of how large it is.)

We-Vibe Sync 2

The toy bends to help ensure a good fit for most users, but it doesn’t come with a different-sized arm to support people who may have a long distance from their G spot to their clitoris.

Ease of Use

This toy isn’t 100% intuitive right off the bat, but it’s not super tricky, either. It takes a few tries to get it placed comfortably and for your partner to thrust in a way that is comfortable and pleasurable while not moving the toy from its spot.

The Sync 2 gets extra points for ease of use because it offers three ways to play with it: via the power button on the external arm of the toy, the remote control, and the app. It’s a great hands-free device for people who want to use it in public or have grip issues that make hands-on use a hassle.

The device charging

If you’re a technophobe, take comfort in the fact that you never have to use the We-Connect app to enjoy this toy, though you will miss out on part of the functionality.

Going between phone app control and using the remote was a bit confusing and I had to consult the manual to ensure I was doing it right. The We-Vibe couples vibe shows up at your door connected to the remote.

If you switch to app control, it unpairs with the remote, and you’ll have to pair it back to the remote before using it that way again. It took a few tries, so keep the manual on hand so that you have no trouble switching in and out of app control as needed.

Pro Tips: If you’re ok without some of the bells and whistles, We-Vibe is selling a less expensive and scaled-down version called We-Vibe Sync Lite.

Versatility

The We-Vibe Sync 2 is exceptionally versatile, especially for a device that is designed as a couple’s toy.

First, it’s excellent for public play. It stays in place beautifully and is reasonably quiet.

Secondly, the We-Vibe Sync is perfect for partnered play, meaning that its sole use could be as a vibrator while your partner penetrates you and it would be worth the expense.

Next, it’s great for solo use because the vibes are strong enough and there is a good range of strengths and patterns for you to play around with.

Further, it is great for long-distance play. If your partner downloads the We-Vibe app and pairs it with your toy, they can control your sensations from anywhere in the world. It’s small enough to enjoy at home or bring with you on vacation.

Lastly, it’s great for anyone who doesn’t like to reach to manipulate slippery, lubed-up buttons, because it comes with an easy-to-operate remote control.

There are really only a few things the Sync 2 can’t do. For one, it’s not great for couples where each individual has a penis. Next, it’s not safe for anal stimulation, you’re better off buying a vibrator dedicated to anal play. Lastly, though it’s waterproof, the remote is not—so you’ll need to stay dry if you want to operate it with the remote control. Overall, the We-Vibe Sync 2 gets 10/10 for versatility!

Warranty and Support

We-Vibe offers a two-year warranty on all of their toys, which is great! This warranty covers a defect in materials or workmanship, and they will send you the same or similar product at their discretion. Keep in mind that the warranty doesn’t cover normal wear and tear.

Minor Issues I Found During Testing

Though this toy definitely turned up the heat during partnered play, I wasn’t a huge fan of the rough texture on my clit. The ridges made it more difficult to use for extended periods because it felt a bit grating. I had better experiences with other clit vibrators in the past.

Next, I’d get slightly more use out of Sync 2 if the remote was waterproof. Perhaps that would make the price prohibitive, but having to buy a battery I don’t typically keep around and remember not to use the remote in the tub or shower—even though the toy is waterproof—is kind of a tall order. The website says that the model CR2032 battery should last for years, but having the ability to charge it is preferable.

We-Vibe Sync vs. Sync 2

Though the concept is the same, many upgrades were added to the original We-Vibe Sync to make the Sync 2. For one, it’s quieter, more powerful, and has better battery life. The original also came with a charging container rather than a charging cable, which will take up more space on your nightstand.

We-Vibe Sync and the remote control

The ridges are slimmer and don’t have as much comfy silicone filling between them, making this feel a bit rougher, especially for people who are sensitive like I am. I prefer the Original Sync’s thicker ridges, as they were easier on my sensitive skin. They are essentially the same size, perfect for travel and discreet play. Check the full review of We-Vibe Sync here.

We-Vibe Sync 2 vs. We-Vibe Chorus

Of all the We-Vibe products, the We-Vibe Chorus may be the top of the line as far as couples’ sex toys go. The We-Vibe Chorus is essentially the same as the Sync, but it has some additional features and the price tag to prove it’s the more luxurious option of the two.

The upgraded remote control on the We-Vibe Chorus is one of the main features that Sync 2 lacks. It has a squeeze remote that is incredibly intuitive thanks to the touch sense modes that respond to your grip. Instead of looking to see which button turns up the intensity or changes the pattern, you can squeeze it to make the sensations increase. We-Vibe Sync’s remote is the traditional kind, where you push the buttons to change the settings.

We-Vibe Sync 2 and. We-Vibe Chorus

The We-Vibe Chorus comes in four colors: coral, purple, pink, and cosmic blue; the Sync 2 only has three. The Chorus comes with a charging station that is a bit more fidgety to operate than the USB cable, but the We-Vibe Chorus remote is rechargeable, which is a nice touch.

The We-Vibe Chorus is more expensive, costing $209. For the full review, click here.

Lovense Lush 3

Lovense Lush 3 is a vibrating egg (egg vibrators boast internal stimulation with no clitoral stimulation) with app control for long-distance play. The Lovense app beats the We-Vibe app hands down, in my opinion, and because it’s so versatile, it’s popular with cammers.

We-Vibe Sync 2 and Lovense Lush 3

The Lovense Lush 3 is often on sale for $120, so if the top two items on your wish list are a versatile app and internal vibes, this is the best purchase. For the full review of Lovense Lush 3, click here.

Lelo Tiani 3

The Lelo Tiani 3 is a lot like the Sync 2—it’s a c-shaped couples vibrator that you can operate with the remote control. The Tiani 3 offers a more luxurious design and is extra giftable, but it can’t connect to a smartphone app, so it won’t work for long-distance couples. The Tiani 3’s remote allows you to turn up the vibes with motion, and the remote vibrates too so your partner can feel how intense it is and adjust accordingly. It costs $169. For the full review of Lelo Tiani 3, click here.

We-Vibe Sync 2 and Lelo Tiani 3

You may also want to consider the Lelo Tiani 2, which comes with two different arms so that you can find the most comfortable fit. The Tiani 3 only has one arm.

Lelo IDA Wave

The Lelo IDA Wave is a gorgeous toy and the packaging is to die for—Lelo always gets top marks for gift-ability. The long arm fits easily inside you and has its patented Wave Motion Technology, which is meant to feel a bit like fingering. The external component surrounds the clit with powerful vibes. Though you could use this vibe during partnered play, it may not be the best choice for use during penetration.

Lelo Ida Wave

The Lelo IDA Wave costs $189. For the full review, click here.

We-Vibe Jive

The We-Vibe Jive is We-Vibe’s answer to the Lovense Lush 3. It’s a wearable vibrating egg made for long-distance partners. Though the We-Vibe app isn’t as much fun as Lovense’s, the vibes are rumbly and it is quiet once inserted, making it perfect for discreet public play.

We-Vibe Jive

The We-Vibe Jive costs $119. For the full We-Vibe review, click here.
