Suction vibrators have made a massive impact on the sex toy scene and social media over the last couple of years. And for a good reason. They’re designed to mimic the sucking and licking of the clitoris through gentle pulses of air that don’t directly touch the clitoris.
When researching the Womanizer Pro40, I came across a statistic on the Womanizer website that said 98% of vulva owners orgasmed from using Womanizer sex toys. This stat came from a pool of 610 vulva owners. So, needless to say, I was curious to see just what all the fuss was about.
Honestly, I probably won’t use Womanizer Pro 40 very often. The experience was too quick and intense for me. It’s not a bad toy; it just wasn’t for me. But that’s the beauty of sex; we all like different things, and they’re all valid (given it’s done with consenting adults, of course).
Who Should Try It? Anyone who loves clitoral stimulation and suction toys or those who haven’t tried them yet (you need to see what the hype is about). It’s also suitable for vulva owners who have trouble orgasm and those who love oral sex.
Who Can Skip It? Those who, like me, are not big fans of suction toys. Instead, I recommend a traditional clit vibrator like We-Vibe Touch X or Desire Luxury.

First Impressions & Features
The Womanizer Pro40’s features at a glance:
- Material: Non-porous silicone cap and ABS plastic body
- Size: 4.7 inches long and 1.8 inches wide
- Color: Available in a variety of colors
- Mechanism: Clitoral suction
- Weight: 1.4 ounces
Packaging
The Womanizer Pro40 came in a simple foil bag, which also contained the instruction manual and USB charging cable. I had never seen a sex toy sold in a storage pouch before and really appreciated the simplicity.
The bag did not include a storage case, but I didn’t mind as I had a few lying around the house. If this is a problem for you, it could easily fit into a small makeup bag or something similar.
Material
The Womanizer Pro40 is made from silicone and ABS plastic. The only part of the vibrating clit sucker that comes in contact with your body, the removable head, is made from body-safe silicone, with the remainder of the toy being made from ABS plastic.
Dimensions
The Pro40 is 4.7 inches long and 1.8 inches wide at the widest point. The removable head that comes with the toy is just over half an inch wide at the opening. If you need a different size, you need to buy this separately from Womanizer.
Design
The body is similar to many of the other suction toys on the market. But in my opinion, maybe the Pro40 is slightly bigger. It feels sturdy enough to make it through the most intense solo sessions.
In addition, the silicone head is detachable to suit different-sized clitoris’, and different sized heads are available from the Womanizer website for $12.90.
Battery and Charging
The Womanizer Pro40 takes up to 2 hours to charge and has four hours of battery life, which sounds pretty good to me. The vibrator comes pre-charged, but the manual recommends charging the sex toy for three hours before use.
The USB charging port is located at the top of the toy, hopefully keeping it away from any liquids. And it’s protected by a malleable piece of plastic that sits flush with the toy. Initially, this was hard to undo, but it became much more manageable with time.
Controls
The controls of the Womanizer Pro40 are easy to use. There are three buttons, the on/off button, an increasing speed button, and a decreasing speed button. The buttons are slightly raised so you can feel them without having to visually sight them for those times when your eyes are rolling back into your head.
I like that this toy has a separate power button, so you don’t accidentally turn it off mid-session, a problem that I’ve found with toys that have a singular button for power and to cycle through settings.
Warranty and Support
The Womanizer Pro40 comes with a five-year warranty, which is a lot more than the standard one-year offered by many other brands.
How To Use Womanizer Pro40?
- After unboxing the device, give it a quick wash using the above guidelines.
- Womanizer then recommended that you charge the Pro40 for at least three hours (it does come precharged, though, if you can’t wait).
- Next, grab some water-based lube and apply it to your clitoris.
- Then turn on the toy and cycle through the intensities until you find one right for you!

My Personal Experience
This was my first experience using a clitoral suction toy, and I have mixed reviews.
Stimulations
Let me start by saying that the toy definitely did its job, but maybe it did this a little too quickly. I wasn’t able to take the time and enjoy myself like I would if I were using a clitoral vibrator.
I found the suction and air to be slightly awkward on the lowest setting, so I moved the toy around a bit, and once properly positioned, it felt somewhat better. So I decided to turn it up higher, and then it was very intense, with everything over in less than a minute.
I’ve heard stories of people having multiple orgasms with this toy, but it was so intense that I was finished after the first orgasm.
I also don’t enjoy oral sex too much, and this toy is said to mimic oral sex. For the record, I do like oral sex, but I don’t seem to share the same passion as other vulva owners I have spoken with. So, if you’re really into oral, then maybe you’ll enjoy this more than I did.
Sound Level
In addition, I found the Womanizer Pro40 to be not as loud as other traditional vibrators, even a higher speeds.
Honestly, I probably wouldn’t use the Womanizer Pro 40 very often, maybe only if I was struggling to orgasm. It’s not to say it’s a bad toy; I just think it wasn’t for me, but that’s the beauty of sex, we’re all into different things, and they’re all valid (given it’s done with consenting adults of course).
But I recommend this toy for vulva owners who find it hard to orgasm and those who love oral and want to mimic that sensation during solo play.

While I enjoyed this toy, I don’t think it lived up to the hype. Womanizer can now add me to their statistic of vulva owners who orgasmed using their toys, but the experience was too quick and intense for me.
Pros
- It’s fully waterproof and can be used in the bathtub and shower.
- Extremely quiet.
- Five-year warranty.
- Six different speeds and vibration settings.
Cons
- It only comes with one head size, so you may need to purchase another if this size isn’t for you.
- Quite expensive at $119.00.
- It doesn’t come with a USB wall plug.
How It Compares Against Other Womanizer Toys
The company specializes in clitoral suction toys, so there are a wide variety of Womanizer models to choose from.
Womanizer Premium Eco
The Womanizer Premium Eco is quite similar to the Pro40, with one significant difference. It’s created from sustainable and renewable materials. It’s made from Biolene, which is comprised of primarily raw and renewable materials, making it good for your clit and the earth.
The Premium Eco has 12 intensity settings, an extra removable head, and costs $199. You can read our Womanizer Premium Eco review here.
Womanizer Premium 2
Similar to the Premium Eco, the Womanizer Premium 2 is the upscale version of the Pro40. It has 14 intensity levels, is quieter than the Pro40, and even features a setting called autopilot, which switches between intensity levels, so you don’t have to.
Womanizer 2 is made from silicone, is completely waterproof, and will set you back $199.
Womanizer Duo 2
The Womanizer Duo 2 combines clitoral suction with internal stimulation with an insertable end similar in style to a rabbit vibrator. The insertable part of the toy is powered by air pressure which stimulates the vagina through vibrations.
As it is double-ended, it is slightly bigger and heavier than the Pro 40. In addition, it’s made from silicone, is waterproof, has 12 intensity levels and 12 vibrational settings, and costs $219.00. You can read more about Womanizer Duo 2 in this review article.

Satisfyer Pro 2
If you’re looking to invest in a suction toy and are not sure if it’s for you, I recommend the Satisfyer Pro 2. This toy has similar features to the Pro40, including a silicone head, 11 intensity settings, and a 15-year warranty, at the lower price point of $59.95.
We-Vibe Melt
The We-Vibe Melt is a sleek and stylish alternative to the Pro40. The Melt was designed to be slim to be used during partnered sex so that it could fit between two bodies for extra pleasure.
It is made from silicone, will last for up to two hours, and is even controllable from an app! The Melt will set you back $149.00.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
How does the Womanizer Pro 40 work?
Womanizer uses the company’s patented Pleasure Air Technology. Instead of traditional vibrations, the device uses air to suck and massage the clitoris. This unique technology minimizes desensitization, and you can use the device for a longer period.
What company makes the womanizer?
Womanizer is made by the WOW Tech group, which also owns the We-Vibe and Arcwave brands.
How do you clean Womanizer Pro40?
The removable head of the Womanizer Pro40 makes it easy to clean. First, remove the head from the device and wash it with soap and warm water. Then clean the rest of the device with a damp cloth that has been soaked in warm water and soap.
Do you need lube with Womanizer?
Yes, I recommend applying lube to your clitoris. As this is a suction toy, you don’t necessarily have to lube up the toy itself, but if that feels good to you, then go right ahead.
Can you bring Womanizer on a plane?
Yes, according to TSA’s website, you can pack sex toys in both the carry-on and check-in luggage.
